Since we have a thread for improving the descriptions for tropes, I thought I would make one for improving descriptions for works. This is also a good place for requesting creator page cleaning.
Here are some common problems with many work descriptions:
- Over-analytical Walls of Text: Many works that have a high Troper Critical Mass have egregiously long descriptions, and could use some trimming, possibly moving some of it to the Analysis page.
- Critical reception/audience reaction cruft: "Edit Tip #12: We are not interested in whether or not something is or was popular. Whether or not it was liked has nothing to do with tropes." In other words, work descriptions should not contain paragraphs nor any mention at all about how the work was received. Zap it.
- Editorialism: A similar issue to the above, some tropers have a tendency to try to sneak stealth reviews into works' descriptions. This is obvious deletion fodder - Kill It with Fire.
- Plagiarism: Copy-pasted text from another source, such as Wikipedia.
So just post any work or creator page descriptions that are in need of cleanup and we'll see what we can do.

Both Pokémon Lost Silver and Easter Egg - Snow on Mt. Silver describe the entire plot of their respective creepypastas, and are quite long as a result.
Jawbreakers on sale for 99¢The Skydivers has a description that consists solely of complaining. It needs a rewrite. I, however, am unfamiliar with the work, so someone else will have to rewrite it. Would anyone?
TRS Queue | Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper WallCity of Dead Sorcerer's old description was plagiarized, so I replaced it with a one line description and added it to Needs A Better Description
The work page description for Clash of the Titans (2010) (which also covers it's sequel Wrath of the Titans) doesn't actually talk about the plot of either film.
The role list on Rie Kugimiya should be re-ordered to list by work instead of character name.
Is Cliché Storm or other YMMV allowed in descriptions? Trying to clean them out, because they should probably be too rare to be Overdosed Tropes.
Desire Climax uses it for "predictably".

I made Doggie March a while back, and I feel the page could use some improvement, so has anyone seen the movie and would like to add stuff to the page?
This account is now inactive because the actual Fivey (my sheep who I loved dearly) passed away and it feels wrong to use her name anymore.Well, one thing you should work on is proper example context. A character name and nothing else doesn't explain how that character constitutes an example of the trope.
Trouble Cube continues to be a general-purpose forum for those who desire such a thing.Tengai Makyou IV The Apocalypse has a lot of issues, but primarily it's missing the description. Langrisser pages too.

TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupHow do you think it is Creator.Tarsila Do Amaral? I just wanted to ask because it is my first creator page and I was wondering if I did something wrong.
oh hey how are you doing?WesternAnimation. The Small One says nothing about the plot, just all about its production?
Disambig Needed: Help with those issues! tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=13324299140A37493800&page=24#comment-576WesternAnimation.The Hobbit could be a bit more explaining.
oh hey how are you doing? The description for Fringe uses a series of X meets Y comparisons.
Fringe is a FOX Science Fiction TV series created by J. J. Abrams and his compatriots Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci. Other J.J. coworkers from Lost and Alias are involved as well. Conceptually, it is not unlike The X-Files, with the primary threat being Mad Scientist terrorists, instead of an Alien Invasion. In practice it is like The X-Files meets CSI. Like J.J.'s other shows, it has a slowly developing Myth Arc involving an Alternate Universe, mysterious "Observers," an Action Girl, and crazy, off-the-wall happenings right from the get-go. It's quite a Mind Screw.
I've never seen the show, but here's what it sounds like: Fringe is a science fiction show about the Fringe Division, a branch of the United States government that investigates fringe science-based terrorist plots. The show borrows heavily from police procedural formats. The show explores parallel universes, eventually featuring paralell universe versions of the main cast.
I'd like help from someone who has seen the show.

The prologue description at Punch Line is way too long.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupNot Equal has no description or image at all. Does anyone have any idea what this manga is about?
It's described at MAL, Mangaupdates (I'm obviously not suggesting copy-paste), looking at the tags it's not something I'm interested in checking myself. The page has other problems, like a spoilered trope name and half of them being ZCE.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupI actually saw those when googling it, and realized I had no idea how to reword any of that into a description or anything that happens, so I threw it out here for help.
~yin_13147 created the page and they are active on the wiki. Pinging them here to see if they can write up the description for the page (and clean up ZCEs/misapplied spoilers).

Macron's notesConcerns are already addressed; the page now has an image, a starting description, and is also indexed in the Manga category. Other concerns (ZCE entries and the spoilered trope) was also fixed.
I prefer to lay low and to not be perceived.Still needs crossing wicking but way better!
The description for WesternAnimation. The Aristocats is written like it's an Aristocrats bit, likely due to the Punny Title. I feel like it should be rewritten to just be a normal description.

If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?I’m fine with the current description; it’s a rather clever joke, and it still gives you the movie’s actual premise.
back lol
I don't know if the last three paragraphs on Inchon seem too focused on complaining about the Moonies, but I've placed a copy with comments after each quoteblock to mark segments that are complaining/mention critical and commercial reception, and a revised description:
Remove the "(derisively)" and "(stop snickering)" since they add nothing constructive. In my opinion, I don't think we need the section describing Moon and his son at all, feels more suited for Wikipedia or a Useful Notes page (but they're probably too contentious to make one)
Remove "That is not a joke" and "Still not kidding" and it should be fine.
Well, all the box office gross, Razzie Awards stuff, and overall mention of its negative reception can be excised as that's not allowed on a work page. I think the Olivier Money, Dear Boy remark is already on Trivia so we could remove it from here.
Why make a movie about the battle of Inchon? Well, it was apparently a choice between this or making a movie about Jesus or Elvis Presley. Then a fortune teller claimed that she spoke to MacArthur, who gave Moon the personal go-ahead for Inchon. Moon wanted to show a pivotal moment in Korean history as well as portray MacArthur as a deeply spiritual man. The end goal of Inchon was to be the start of a series of ten or so movies about the Bible.
Following a long and very difficult production, the film had a limited theatrical release. Laurence Olivier in an interview declared that the only reason he took part of this picture is "Money, Dear Boy", which became a Trope Namer for this wiki. Moon wanted to keep his involvement a secret since the Unification Church is perceived as a cult, so all of the actors and crew were paid in cash, including Olivier, who was paid $1.25 million, plus overtime, in deposits of several briefcases. It has never been released on home video, and is only available in VHS recordings ripped from the Unification Church's former TV network, the GoodLife Network (now YTA TV).
Well, I removed the offending parts of the last paragraph and the stuff talked about in the first paragraph (and "Still not kidding"), still waiting on input for the rest.
