• Alternative Character Interpretation: Steven Stone from the ORAS demo came off as less of a Mentor Archetype and more of... well, a dick.
  • Instances of Superdickery included dumping Orlando with a "Nugget Dumping Man", as well as dumping Artemis with "Uncle" Arrune. He even gave us Blazikenite. This led to the phrase:

• Anticlimax Boss: Most of the Gym Leaders are based off of their teams from Ruby & Sapphire, rather than Emerald, which had both better teams and more sophisticated AI. It also helps that the Exp. Share has resulted in a more balanced team, compared to previous runs where a clear Crutch Character emerged.
  • Wattson, one of the most notoriously tough Gym Leaders in the history of Twitch Plays Pokémon, was significantly more easily taken down in OmegaRuby ^* Three attempts, compared to his 22 victories over A in Twitch Plays Pokémon Emerald.
• Hilarious in Hindsight: The way Arty is characterized; a boy who just happens to like cute things, based on Brendan, who falls for the local May counterpart. Oh, and he just happens to have named his starter a name with repeated syllables. Pokémon Adventures' Ruby is pretty much a less energetic Arty.
