Anti-Climax Boss: Compared to the second boss and Evan, the Final BossCeci ends up being this. The only potentially hard part of the fight is dodging the fire at first but learning the pattern is doable. Then the only thing you have to do is attack the crystals till you win.
Ass Pull: Some of the revelations in the game are not hinted at whatsoever:
Alex being in the same orphanage as Evan and his sister.
Evan killing his own sister and lying about it (with Alex being the only one to know the truth), as well as his Heel Realization if you spare his life.
If you struggled a lot to beat The Green Head boss, finally learning the pattern and defeating it will definitely be this.
Defeating Evan in the Leave ending is very satisfying, especially after how much jerkassery he displayed beforehand and The Reveal that he killed his sister and lied about it.
Cry for the Devil: Despite being an antagonist, Ceci surprisingly ends up being more sympathetic than most of the cast. She's genuinely sweet to everyone and seems to want them all to win, but her Undying Loyalty to the Host leaves her no choice but to watch as they either survive or die.
Jerkass Woobie: While Bella can be naggy and hostile, it's not hard to sympathize with her fear of being trapped and distrusting the others. Her death at the hands of Evan also adds to this.
Jerks Are Worse Than Villains: While Evan is not just your ordinary jerk and is responsible for his sister's death, he's still much more deplorable than the game's host since the latter is at least likable because of their Affably Evil and Fair-Play Villain nature, despite being responsible for many more deaths from previous games.
Moral Event Horizon: If Evan didn't cross it by killing his own sister as a child then he definitely did by tricking Bella into being the sacrifice instead of him and trying to kill Alex.
Scrappy Mechanic: The Stay on the Path of the cherry petals mechanic isn't so horrible, but it can get annoying sometimes, especially in the forest where it becomes a bit harder to see.
That One Attack: The fire attack in the final fight is tricky. Even when you think you memorized the pattern, it might take a while to beat.
That One Boss: The green man head, who's the second boss of the game, is pretty challenging compared to others if you don't have a good understanding of how the fight works. While you are trying to smash its crystals and avoid the spikes, there's also quakes that make your character involuntarily move, potentially into the spikes.
Really, this could apply to everyone apart from Alex, Ceci and Evan, as they're not given much focus on both routes and die before you really get to know them.
They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: The Leave route has the revelation that Evan was raised in the same orphanage as Alex and killed his sister coming off abruptly just before Evan is corrupted and turns into a boss to fight. It would've been more effective if this was slowly built towards throughout the routes with Evan becoming more and more unhinged while Alex is getting his memory back bit by bit, leading to a more satisfying payoff.
Too Bleak, Stopped Caring: It's rather difficult to get attached to the cast, as all of them with the exception of Alex and Ceci are raging Jerkasses and/or have blood on their hands, and even they have their problems with being naïve enough to try and work with the others even after finding out about their sins and being an Eldritch Abomination assigned to be The Mole, respectively. Not helping matters is the game being able to be completed in less than 2 hours if you know what you're doing, resulting in many of the contestants' confessions to their deeds coming off as rather abrupt, and the fact that no matter the ending, the host gets away with everything and begins another Sakabashira Game.
Marjorie too. Her Trauma Conga Line past of being bullied in school then marrying a husband who started beating her and cheating on her is meant to justify her killing him but the fact that she killed their children too when they denounced her and is generally unconcerned about anything but making cookies puts her in this territory instead.
Alex. He's trapped in a weird place with no memories of his life except his name, most of the people around him are jerks, and the one person he grows close to turns out to be The Mole for the Big Bad.
Evan's sister and Marjorie's children since They're all butchered by these two for petty reasons.
