YMMV / Seven Days in Sunny June

Go To

  • Archive Panic: As of January 28, 2018, the series consists of 20 stories and 1,343,185 words. And three of those stories aren't even done yet.
  • Broken Base: As usual, the SpaceBattles.com community is polarized over something particular by Shinzakura.
    • Though no longer as much since the SB/SV fracture.
  • Harsher in Hindsight: A scene in the Rainbow Rocks short Perfect Day For Fun, in which Fluttershy lashes out at a plush of Discord, becomes this with the revelation that the human version is her father, and that she's quite upset at him for supposedly abandoning their family.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight:
    • Sunset Shimmer has been living with human Twilight Sparkle. Come the Stinger of Rainbow Rocks...
    • Flash being a Bitch in Sheep's Clothing is hilarious given both his continued Nice Guy characterization and his behavior under the Hate Plague.
    • The heavy Ship Tease between Rainbow Rocks Bon-Bon and Lyra.
    • Book III, chapter 9. A character mistakenly refers to Twilight as "Twilight Twinkle". Two and a half months later, it happened in canon.
    • Treasure, in the chapter on Pinkie's family, reveals "Maud" is short for "Maudelline". A little over two years later, it was made canon that "Maud" is a nickname for "Maudalina".
  • I Knew It!: When the artifacts in Divine Right's possession were revealed, someone managed to guess what the bell was for. note  Naturally, steps were taken to ensure it remained a surprise despite this. It turned out to be a red herring anyway. See Bait-and-Switch Boss for details.
  • Unexpected Character: As lampshaded by the author, Adagio Dazzle showing up (with hints of the other Dazzlings appearing as well) in Book III was highly unexpected. The actual human Sunset Shimmer appears in the final chapter.
  • The Woobie:
    • Sunset, just moments after her warehouse is destroyed. With no place to go and unable to turn to her friends, she's in a real bind. Fortunately, five minutes and one caring cop later, her life changes radically.
    • Blossomforth and Minuette also qualify for their individual reasons. Blossomforth was dumped by her long term boyfriend (who turns out to be Flash), and afterwards she realizes she's pregnant. Her pastor father forces Flash into a Shotgun Wedding in an attempt to make him take responsibility, but it's clear he has no interest in fatherhood. Minuette is given a Mind Control drug and "used" in an orgy, and slits her own wrists, with her parents luckily finding her in time to save her life.
    • Twilight with her nightmares, especially when she purposefully walks into traffic.
