  • Anticlimax Boss: After the weeks of grinding required to finally clear Karma and Sutra, the requirements to clear Dark One and Q-Pernikiss aren't that bad. Justified as Karma and Sutra state their goal is to train Marshmallow in channeling his full 'power' so when you're done with them, it's natural that you can bulldoze through the Dark One's heart requirements.
  • Base-Breaking Character: Nutaku. One half of the fanbase finds her to be absolutely hilarious, while others think she's just plain vulgar.
  • Breather Level: Eva's relationship tiers are simply hearts and dates. Granted, the heart requirements are quite large, but she's still the simplest relationship at that point between the extreme money of Luna and the large money and reset bonus requirements of Karma & Sutra.
  • Diagnosed by the Audience: Between her poor social skills, her fixation with red pandas and environmentalism, and the mentions of weighted blankets and sensitive hearing, Amelia is very blatantly implied to be autistic.
  • Ensemble Dark Horse: Bearverly was originally created solely as an April Fools Joke, but ended up being so popular that she was added to the game as a legitimate character.
    • Out of phone flings, a number have caught on pretty well starting with Peanut the normal college student, Ruri the snide hacker, RenĂ©e the childhood friend, among others. To the point where all three promoted to main girls, and a couple others have that in the works.
  • Fan Nickname: Because of his featureless appearance, and Fumi referring to him as a "marshmallow", some fans have started calling the protagonist "Marshmallow-kun".
  • Friendly Fandoms: Or rather, Friendly Creators - as it turns out, the developer of Yandere Simulator and the creators of Crush Crush were fans of each other's work, which led to the former gladly allowing the latter to include Ayano in the game, thus creating an overlap between the two fandoms.
  • Game-Breaker: If you can complete the winter event the zamboni driver job you're rewarded with pays almost 200 times as much as all the other jobs COMBINED. To put that into perspective all the other jobs when at max level, gilded and all speed bonuses obtained produce about 3 quintillion a day. That's a lot but for newer girls like Brie, Babybell and Amelia it could still take a month or 2 to meet their 120 quintillion gift requirements. With the Zamboni job the amount of money earned in the same amount of time jumps to 500 quintillion. Taking the waiting time for these 3 girls from 2 months per girl to getting the requirements for all 3 in a day. Oh and this is before the Zamboni job is gilded. The catch is that you have to wait for the winter event to run again and complete every challenge in it but there are enough guides available to help you beat it within the required time frame.
  • Genius Bonus: The amount of hearts that Explora requires in order to progress between levels are binary code. At least two levels can be translated into "E", the letter used as Internet Explorer's logo.
  • Good Bad Bugs: Whether this is a true bug, an oversight, or simply a way to trick the game, one can instantly rack up many hours by setting the device's date back a few years, then setting the date back to normal. The player will gain all that time between the two dates. This doesn't work for specific timers such as waiting for the next phone message or waiting for the daily freebee.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: Bearverly's entire situation of being an animal turned into human as the relationship progresses ends up also being the main objective for every boy-turned-animal in the game's Spear Counterpart, Blush Blush.
  • Hollywood Pudgy: Ayeka will call Karma fat sometimes, despite her only being slightly heavier than the other girls. Of course, this is Ayeka we're talking about.
  • Just Here for Godzilla: Prior to her removal in December 2023, some started playing this because of Ayano.
  • Scrappy Mechanic: clickclickclickclickclickclickclickclickclickclickclickclickclick...especially with the later girls where it's either buy them a ridiculously expensive gift, do this for literally hours...or just download a free autoclicker and hit F6 while you go have a sandwich.
    • Stat bonuses mitigate this only a little bit, as they make Apologizing/Flirting/Seducing start generating thousands, millions or even billions of hearts per click, but that's still chump change compared to the billions you'll need for most girls or the quadrillions you'll need for the last few, which means you'll still be machine gun clicking for far too long if you're saving up for another girl's gifts. Eva is an especially egregious offender since getting a massive amount of hearts is the only requirement for most of her advancements.
    • Unlike gathering hearts by buying gifts in bulk, the only way to do all the date requirements for a girl is by clicking "go again" repeatedly. Which can be especially fun when you have to go on over 1000 dates for The Dark One or the 20,000 total dates* needed for Q-Pernikiss. This can be mitigated by buying Catara and gaining the Speed Dating ability.
  • That One Sidequest:
    • Mastering the Slayer job, which pays peanuts compared to other late game jobs, requires a large time block investment even at high levels and takes forever to master. It's basically Wizard except it never gets good.
    • Buying 1,000,000 total gifts as a requirement for Q-Pernikiss. You can only buy 10,000 at a time, so unlike hearts and dates, you can't use an autoclicker for it. Recent updates have since subverted this, increasing the maximum amount you can buy at a time to 1,000,000 at a time.
  • Tear Jerker: Minor, but conversing with Generica in the Phone Flings update reminds you that she was just a teenage girl whose young life was brutally snuffed out because she dared to like the same person as Ayeka. There's a deep sadness to her early messages, bemoaning all the things she wanted to experience with Marshmallow.
