Webcomic / Little Jolyne Goes To Morioh

Go To

It is just another ordinary day in Morioh in 1999 when Josuke Higashikata gets a surprise request from Jotaro Kujo. Jotaro will be away hunting down a Stand user, so he needs Josuke to watch over someone.

The person in question? Jotaro’s seven-year-old daughter Jolyne Kujo.

Little Jolyne Goes to Morioh is a one-shot doujin taking place during the events of Jo Jos Bizarre Adventure Diamond Is Unbreakable. The doujin can be found here. However, they are also several translated comic dubs on YouTube.

  • Adaptational Early Appearance: Jolyne Cujoh, who doesn’t debut until Stone Ocean, appears during the events of Diamond is Unbreakable, 12 years earlier than canon.
  • Babysitting Episode: Essentially the plot, with Josuke watching over his great-niece Jolyne.
  • Call-Back:
  • The Cameo: When Josuke and Jolyne are walking away from Rohan, Yoshikage Kira in his Kosaku disguise can be seen in the foreground.
  • Face of a Thug: When Jolyne first sees Okuyasu, she thinks he’s a Japanese Yakuza, and she hides behind Koichi and yells at him to stay away. Okuyasu breaks down in tears over the accusation.
  • Father, I Want to Marry My Brother: After enjoying a fun day with Josuke, Jolyne tells her father that when she grows up, she wants to marry Josuke. Unbeknownst to her, Josuke is her great-uncle. Jotaro's response, after he recovers from flying into a street sign out of shock, is a definite "No."
  • Heroic Self-Deprecation: Downplayed with Josuke. He doesn’t consider himself terrible with kids, though he doesn't see himself good with them either, and worries how he'll handle watching Jolyne. Everyone else can tell he’s a Cool Big Bro for Jolyne.
  • I Want Grandkids: Implied with Tomoko, who has a grief-striken expression when she learns Jolyne isn't Josuke's secret love child.
  • Mundane Utility: Jotaro uses Star Platinum’s the World to extend the moment when Jolyne kisses his check. His own Stand is rather annoyed at being used this way.
  • Mythology Gag: Rohan refuses to draw a manga for Jolyne in the same manner (shouting "But I refuse") as he refuses Highway Star's offer to trade his near-death position to Josuke.
  • Parents as People: Discussed in regards to Jotaro. While he evidently cares for her (and is quite overprotective to boot), his frequent hunts against dangerous Stand users mean leaving Jolyne behind. Between that and his stoic attitude, Jolyne worries he actually hates her. Josuke assures her that her father loves her more than anything in the world, affirmed when Jotaro comes to pick her up and apologizes for coming back late.
  • Right Behind Me: Near the end of the doujin, Josuke cheers Jolyne up with a Jotaro impression of how he wants to see his daughter again. Immediately afterward, Jotaro calls out from the window that he’s here to pick her up, startling the teenager.
  • Strange Minds Think Alike: Both times when they first see her, Koichi and Tomoko guess that Jolyne is Josuke’s secret love child, much to his annoyance.
