Friday Night Funkin BE “TOO” Remixed provides examples of:
- Adaptational Gender Identity: In canon, Girlfriend is a cisgender female, while in this mod, Shaya is a transgender female. Her being transgender actually factors into the mod's backstory, as her stress and dysphoria over her father wanting a male heir leads to her running away, meeting B3 soon after; with his support, she transitions into a body she's much more comfortable with.
- Adaptational Dye-Job: As per usual with remix mods, the characters' color schemes and costumes are changed all over the place. To wit:
- Bartholomew, Boyfriend's B3 counterpart, has green hair and a yellow cap with a purple brim. He also has Cool Shades, a white shirt with a big Lime Green "B" dash in the center, electric purple pants and black-and-white sneakers with no visible laces. In the upcoming 3X3 Week, he instead wears yellow pajamas with Bats printed all over it, as well as purple slippers.
- Shaya, Girlfriend's B3 counterpart, goes from a long-haired brunette in a red dress to a magenta-haired African woman in a sleek white outfit, complete with white boots. Similar to her boyfriend Bartholomew, she wears pajamas in the upcoming 3X3. However, her pajamas are purple with Bartholomew's initials printed all over them, and she wears green slippers.
- Fulp, Pico's B3 counterpart, goes from a Gun Nut redhead to a airsoft gun-wielding famous internet legend having spiky maroon hair, Cool Shades as well as a yellow sweater and black pants (and badass red sneakers). His Mobian appearance in "GAME2BREAK" retains this except he is now a hedgehog with maroon fur.
- Whitty and Julian are now artillery-wielding anomalies with fuses on their bodies, with Julian's fuse being a part of his tail. Additionally, they wear sweaters, and Julian only wears 1 sock and a pair of sandals while Whitty is missing one shoe.
- Garcello and Annie are now a shapeshifting girl and a frostbitten ice climber respectively. Garcello's skin has paled from the cold and he now dons arctic attire, covered in thick snow gear (with even this not being enough to shield him from the cold). Annie now has pink hair and brown skin, and she wears a white dress. Her shapeshifter form also has her skin turn green.
- Tricky now has light green skin, purple hair and wears a hypnotic mask, and his "STOP" Sign is now a caution sign shaped like an octagon.
- Hank is now donned in red and wields what seems to be a water gun.
- The entire Vs. Impostor cast now has swapped colors, with Red now being Cyan, Mitori now being Lime, Black now being Purple, White now being Indigo, and Chuu now being Pink.
- Scourge (which also retroactively applies to Soul Scourge & Dumbfuck) is now a stranded hermit in punk's attire, with him retaining his classic jacket and stomach scratches, but he now wears black boots with a purple strap and soles, and the flames of his jacket are also green-and-purple instead of yellow-and-fire orange.
- Miles (which retroactively applies to Soul Miles) now resembles as he usually does in the Archie Sonic comics, except the metal fronts of his shoes are duller in color.
- O'Nux and Patch D'Coolette (which retroactively applies to Soul Patch) have now swapped roles, with Patch being the Anarchy Beryls' guardian and with O'Nux now being a free-wheeling warrior friend to Miles.
- Dr. Ovi Kintobor (which retroactively applies to Soul Kintobor) goes from a thinner version of Dr. Robotnik to a bona fide badass scientist with a white coat with a large hood and purple stripes, as well as boots with multiple metal bands and studs on each boot.
- Shadow (which retroactively applies to Shadow.EXE) is now green in color with his fur stripes now being completely absent. Additionally, he has purple eyes, purple devil horns, a Pac-Man shaped stomach, an "X" engraved on his forehead, a jacket, black pants held by a black belt with a gold "B" emblem on it, and metal-studded shoes.
- Shadow.EXE also follows suit: his quills and his devil horns can also be crystallized, his jacket being removed entirely and replaced with two additional crystals protruding on his shoulders, have purple substances coming out of his eyes and his stomach that was slashed with an "X" on it, some bits of his skull protruding through his eyes and blood stains on his fingers when transforming into his true form, "X3NOPHANES".
- King S, the B3 variant of Lord X, is now purple in color with long spines tipped with crystals, as well as an eyed crown on his head, an "X" on his stomach, fingerless gloves with claws protruding from them, and jester-like shoes with spiked tips. He also has spiked wristbands and cuffs and a bandana with a toothy mouth-like painting over it.
- Adaptation Name Change:
- Boyfriend's name in the original game is... well... Boyfriend. Here, his name is Bartholomew Bartholomew Bartholomew, or "B3" for short.
- Similarly, Girlfriend’s name is now Shaya Dearest.
- Similar name changes are often named among the devs, with Whitty and Julian biTch Whitmore, as well as Lord X & EXE being renamed to Whitty Whitmore, Julian Whitmore (for short), King S and PCX respectively.
- Adaptation Species Change: In the original FNF, Girlfriend and her parents are demons. Here, Shaya and her parents are vampires.
- Adapted Out:
- In "Triple B Trouble", Xenophanes, Soul Tails, Soul Knuckles, and Soul Robotnik are replaced by Soul Scourge, Soul Miles, Soul Patch, and Soul Kintobor respectively.
- Age Lift: While Girlfriend is canonically 19, Shaya is 100 years old.
- Early-Installment Weirdness:
- You'd be forgiven for thinking that the version on Gamebanana is a completely unrelated mod that shares the same name, as it's... quite different than the current version to say the least. There's no original songs, and all of the characters are from the base game, but recolored. Most of the remixes are also different. Similarly, the names are different too; in the Gamebanana build, Boyfriend's name is Barry Clyde, and (Barry's wife) Girlfriend's name is Samantha Clyde.
- Vs. Sonic.exe is the only mod with songs included in the base mod: all songs based around other mods were later incorporated into their own separate mod set in the same universe, B2 Remixed.
- Face of a Thug: Garcello looks like a guy you don't wanna trust, and yet he comes off as very friendly.
- Open-Minded Parent: Downplayed with Shaya's parents. While they do end up being supportive of their daughter after she comes out to them, they aren’t so fond of her boyfriend.
- Our Vampires Are Different: Shaya is stated to come from a long line of rockstar vampires, just like her parents.
- Race Lift: In the original game, Boyfriend and Girlfriend are Caucasian. Here, B3 is Asian (specifically South Korean), while Shaya is black.
- World of Technicolor Hair: So far, none of the characters shown in the game has a natural hair color. For example, B3's hair is green, Shaya's is dark pink, and Fulp's is a dark red.
