- Romance on the Set: Rosanna Arquette had an affair with Jean-Marc Barr. Not only did this result in the breakup of her marriage to film composer (including two of her own movies!) James Newton Howard, but the affair was short-lived.
- What Could Have Been: Luc Besson was initially unsure of whom to cast in the main role of Mayol. He initially offered the role to Christopher Lambert and Mickey Rourke and even considered himself for the role until someone suggested Jean-Marc Barr. He also considered Mel Gibson.
