Trivia / Super Hero Time

Go To

  • Dueling Shows: Due to the timeslot change of October 2017note , both series run up against rival network, Fuji TV and their two big anime titles, Dragon Ball Super (followed by GeGeGe no Kitarō, Digimon Adventure:, Digimon Ghost Game and currently Tosochu: The Great Mission) and One Piece. Interestingly, all franchises dueling are all owned by Toei Company.
    • For a time, there was a case of Dueling Kids Block too as their timeslot also ends up going against Disney and TV Tokyo's Disney Sunday block. In fact, in 2016, the Japanese dub of Sofia the First actually aired against Doubutsu Sentai Zyuohger in the same time slot of 7:30 AM and won ratings-wise!
    • History repeats again for both stations, except this time TV Tokyo joins forces with Takara Tomy to go against this block, ironically called Henshin Time, which airs Bittomo × Warrior Kirameki Powers! and Tomica Kizuna Gattai Earth Granner (albeit the latter is an anime).
  • Older Than They Think: While Kuuga and GoGoV were the first Sentai-Kamen Rider pair to air together, the first time sentai ran cocurrently alongside Kamen Rider was in 1987 - when Hikari Sentai Maskman ran alongside Kamen Rider BLACK, the same way Sentai and Rider shows starting with Shinkenger and W did (Albeit Maskman was on TV Asahi while BLACK was on MBS/TBS that time). If Super Hero Time had existed at that time, odds are that the two series would have ran back-to-back if the two series were on TV Asahi together.
    • This even gets referenced in Super Hero Taisen. Amongst the many Sentai and Rider team ups in the final battle, one of the few not related to shows that ran together in the block was the Maskmen attacking along BLACK.
  • What Could Have Been: Aside from the aforementioned BLACK and Maskman example noted above, there's one other case. At one point, a Passing the Torch scene was planned between Takumi Inui and Kazuma Kenzaki, where the former would literally pass the baton to the latter (and then the two would transform side-by-side), and it was filmed and everything, but it never aired (and the reason why has never been revealed - in fact, the only reason people know about the scene is because of a magazine article that was published years afterwards). This abandoned idea was likely where the similar concept that Super Sentai has used since 2005 comes from.
