Trivia / Power Rangers Mystic Force

Go To

  • Acting for Two:
    • Barnie Duncan played Toby and once again reprised his role from S.P.D. as Piggy.
    • Hirokazu Iwakami portrayed Koraag, the Green Mystic Ranger and the Solaris Knight.
    • Jun Yamashita played the Pink and White Mystic Rangers.
  • Cast the Runner-Up: Firass Dirani and Richard Brancatisano, who played Nick and Xander respectively, actually tried out for each other's parts.
  • Dawson Casting: Madison's actress Melanie Vallejo was 26 during the show's run.
  • Fake American: Firass Dirani, Melanie Vallejo and Angie Diaz are Australian, and Nic Sampson, Peta Rutter, Antonia Prebble and Chris Graham are New Zelanders. Notably averted for Australian Richard Brancatisano and New Zealander John Tui, who were allowed to use their natural accents in the show (Richard's character was specifically stated to be an Australian who moved to the States, while it's often thought that John did so to vocally distinguish Daggeron from Doggie.)
  • Not Even Bothering with the Accent: Xander, the standout in a cast of Fake Americans; eventually explained as him being a native Aussie.
  • The Other Darrin: A pity they couldn't get Barbara Goodson to voice the Mystic Mother again. (Also technically counts as The Original Darrin the physical side: since this is supposed to be Rita Repulsa after having been purified by Zordon's Z-wave, Machiko Soga replaces her Other Darrin, Carla Perez.)
  • Recursive Import: This series was only the second Disney Era series to be dubbed in Japan (about five or so years after it was first released, to boot), but unlike in the case of Power Rangers S.P.D., the Magiranger actors didn't voice their counterparts. However, Atsushi Hashimoto, who played Kai Ozu/MagiRed, narrated the dub.
  • Romance on the Set: Like their characters, Firass Dirani and Melanie Vallejo dated for a while.
  • Toyless Toyline Character: But only in the US; the Centaurus Wolf Megazord, Koragg's combined Megazord form with his horse Catastros, never got a deluxe toy released in the US. The closest thing is DX WolKaiser from the (Japanese) Mahou Sentai Magiranger toyline.
  • Unfinished Episode: A crossover with S.P.D. was considered, but due to Disney trimming the episode order from 38 to 32, it was scrapped. The closest thing was a cameo from Piggy from the previous series.
  • What Could Have Been: Enough for its own page
  • You Look Familiar:
    • Three examples are hard to spot - Barnie Duncan and John Tui, previously Piggy and "Doggie" Cruger in S.P.D., are virtually unrecognizable without their heavy prosthetics in the roles of Toby and Daggeron, apart from their distinctive voices. And Kelson Henderson is completely unrecognizable under prosthetics, hideous dentures and a different voice in the role of Phineas. Mystic Mother is almost this, sharing an actress with Rita Repulsa, but it's explained they're one and the same.
    • Another easy-to-spot one with Antonia Prebble (Clare), who previously played two minor characters over the prior two years: Krista, "the tree girl" and Conner's prom date in Dino Thunder, and the Nova Ranger in the S.P.D. finale.
    • Much like John Tui playing both characters, in the Japanese dub, Tetsu Inada voiced "Doggie" Cruger in S.P.D. and Daggeron in Mystic Force.
    • In the Japanese dub, Yosuke Ito (Snow Prince) previously played Bridge Carson in the dub of S.P.D.
