  • Dawson Casting: Meli Povenmire, who voices 9-year-old Gretel, is 14 years old as of the series premiere.

This makes Gretel the third Disney TVA character to be canonically neurodivergent and the second lead character with ADHD (following Luz Noceda from The Owl House and Marcy Wu from Amphibia).
  • Permanent Placeholder: Meli Povenmire as Gretel was initially used for the presentation piece due to her father, creator Dan Povenmire needing a girl's voice and her living with him. They opted to keep her for the series as none of the auditioners outperformed her.
  • Playing Against Type: Alyson Stoner, who usually plays friendly and cheerful characters (like her other roles Isabella and Lydia), plays one of the villains, the Destructress.
  • Production Posse: Many staff and crew from Dan Povenmire's previous shows Phineas and Ferb and Milo Murphy's Law work on this show as well as voice actors Brock Powell (Alien Pilot and Vlorkel), Alyson Stoner (Isabella Garcia-Shapiro and Lydia), Dee Bradley Baker (Perry the Platypus and Diogee), Weird Al Yankovic (Milo Murphy), Jeff Swampy Marsh (Major Monogram and Cavendish), Pamela Adlon (Melanie and Bridgette Murphy), Diedrich Bader (Albert, Martin Murphy), Kate Micucci (Sara Murphy), and Phil LaMarr (Marcus Underwood).
  • Short Run in Peru: "Flake It Til You Make It/Game Changer" aired on November 19, 2023 in Canada, nearly two weeks ahead of the American airdate.
  • Role Reprise: Corey Burton and Jennifer Hughes return to voice the farmer and his wife from Phineas and Ferb.
  • Trailers Always Lie: The promos for the show when it shows clips of "A Mammoth Problem", which depict Nordle as an evil Child Prodigy villain that is using the mammoth to wreck havoc in the city. In the actual episode, the mammoth was brought to life accidentally by Nortle during the Science fair and he and Gretel ended up working together to bring to capture the mammoth.
  • What Could Have Been: In the early development, Gretel's headband in superhero gear was pink to match her suit, but in the actual show, her headband is blue.
  • Write Who You Know: Povenmire based much of the main family on his own family. Carolina is based on his ex-wife Clarissa, who is also Venezuelan.
