A Short-Runner American crime drama that starred Carla Gugino as the titular character as she works in Miami as she tracks down fugitives and relies on the advice of her father (Robert Forster).

The series also starred Bill Duke, Jeffrey De Serrano, Frank Pesce, Robert Deacon, Obba Babatundé, and Jake Mailey.

It aired on ABC from October 1 to December, 2003 before being cancelled after 10 episodes.

Tropes for the series:

  • Character Title: Karen Sisco.
  • Easy Sex Change: In the "Nobody's Perfect" episode, Karen hunts fugitive Louis DiNardo. Eventually, it turns out that Louis has had surgery to become "Lois". The timeline is a little vague but certainly not enough time has elapsed for the requirements of ethical SRS medical treatment. While easy, the surgery is also thorough (Lois specifically mentions that she no longer has a penis and that she "doesn't miss it"), and quite successful. While Louis is played by a cisgender male actor, Lois is played by Alexandra Billings, an attractive transgender actress.
  • One-Word Title:
    • Justice.
    • Nostalgia.
  • The Show of the Books: Based on Elmore Leonard's book, Out of Sight.
  • Tagline: "This US Marshal always gets her man".
  • U.S. Marshal: Karen, the titular character, and her father Marshall, a retired Marshal.
