- In the Churning Mists, there's a Fate titled "How to Cane Your Dragon".
- The achievement for defeating Shinryu in The Minstrel's Ballad: Shinryu's Domain is named "How to Slay Your Dragon 2".
- An episode of Animaniacs (2020) is entitled "How to Brain Your Dragon".
- Be Cool, Scooby-Doo!: There is an episode titled "How to Train Your Coward".
- An episode of The Casagrandes is titled "How to Train Your Carl".
- MAD had a segment called "So You Think You Can Train Your Dragon How to Dance" that parodies not only HTTYD but So You Think You Can Dance.
- In My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic there is Dragon Lord Torch who greatly resembles both the Red Death and Bewilderbeast with his size insanely big compared to his subjects, proportions, color and face. He also has a scepter with sort of magic that gives some control over the dragons. Well, thanks his manners are not the same as of Red Death.

- In "Becoming: Part 1", the screensaver on Jim's laptop shows an image of Toothless before briefly cutting off as Jim activates the Amulet.
- In "To Catch a Changeling", it is shown that the Gumm-Gumms switched the Killahead Bridge with that of a Viking ship from How to Train Your Dragon to cover their tracks.
- In "Recipe for Disaster", the meat Jim serves for dinner looks identical to the yak-chops Heather serves the Dragon Riders in the Dragons: Riders of Berk episode "To Heather of Not To Heather".
- The board and pieces used by Blinky, Draal and Aaarrrgghh!!! for their roleplaying game in "Just Add Water" bares a resemblance to a Maces and Talons board.
