Go To

Airdate: August 11, 2018

The Resistance celebrates their victory over Garmadon, for a short while. The Ninja come up with a plan to escape from the Dragon Hunters.

  • Achilles in His Tent: The resistance talks about getting the serpentine to help, but they're sitting things out, after the mess with the Time Twins.
  • Age Cut: The episode begins with a flashback of Jay before the start of the series, meeting Wu for the first time, testing out a pair of wings that he built for solo flight.
  • Coincidental Broadcast: Somehow, the broadcast of Lloyd's speech to Ninjago crosses dimensions, getting picked up by the Dragon Hunters just in time for Jay to see it.
  • Didn't See That Coming: The fake dragon works in spooking the Dragon Hunters, but things take a surprising turn when the actual Firstbourne shows up as well. And it is furious.
  • I Just Want to Be Special: Dareth feels overlooked for not having powers.
  • Oh, Crap!: The episode ends with Dareth, desperately looking for somewhere to do his business, seeing the Sons of Garmadon about to lay siege to resistance headquarters.
  • Prisoner's Work: When not being used to attract dragons, the Ninja are forced to engage in menial labour.
  • Scarecrow Solution: The Ninja smuggle tools to Cole and Wu in order for them to create a mechanical version of Firstbourne in order to distract the Dragon Hunters from their escape.
  • Shout-Out: On being flung into a pile of dragon dung, Iron Baron declares "I hate manure!"
  • Stealth Hi/Bye: Implied in the flashbacks, as Master Wu suddenly pops up in front of Jay with no indication he'd been there a moment ago.
  • Toilet Humor: Dareth, feeling like a burden due to his lack of skills or abilities, asks Mystake for a potion that will give him the "power of Brown". It tastes vile and plagues him with bouts of near-incontinence.
  • You Are Fat: When Cole's first attempt at getting the fake dragon to fly fails, Jay gets defensive and says his calculations were fine, it's just Cole's weight throwing things off.
  • You Have Failed Me: Just narrowly avoided. If Harumi hadn't learned about where the resistance was, Garmadon would have killed her.
