Original air date: 7/9/2004

Production code: PPG-608

The Gangreen Gang is committing brilliant crimes for Sedusa so she can get her revenge on the girls for making her bald.

This episode provides examples of:

  • Air-Vent Passageway: Arturo uses this when the gang breaks into the city hall. Of course, it’s easier for him than it would have been for the other members of the Gangreen Gang since Arturo is a very small guy.
  • Amulet of Concentrated Awesome: The 3 artifacts of Cleopatra that Sedusa has the Gangreen Gang steal for her (one of them being an actual amulet, the other two being a scepter and tiara). They only grant power when used together by the same person though.
  • Brick Joke: Early in the episode, Blossom speculates that the Gangreen Gang are "scrounging for quarters to play outdated video games at the mini-mart". After Sedusa is defeated, Ace tells his gang they're going to go to the mini-mart to play some video games while he brandishes a quarter.
  • The Bus Came Back: Sedusa's first major appearance in over four seasons.
  • Call-Back: Buttercup's short-lived crush on Ace (which happened all the way back in Season 1) is brought up twice in this episode.
Bubbles: The Gangreen Gang? You wished for them?
    Buttercup: (defensively) No!
Bubbles: I thought you were over them.
(Beat as Buttercup looks annoyed at Bubbles)
Buttercup: (bitterly) Why you gotta bring up old stuff?
  • Comically Missing the Point: The Mayor thinks the scepter is just a giant candy cane, saying it tasted so sweet.
  • Drunk with Power: Sedusa once she has all 3 artifacts; she lashes out at all of Townsville, destroying everything in her path.
  • Enemy Mine: Ace willingly gives Blossom tips on how to defeat Sedusa.
  • Energy Absorption: The amulet of Cleopatra is capable of this. Sedusa effectively uses it to absorb an attack from the Powerpuff Girls.
  • Flashback: When Sedusa is first shown in full, the Narrator is confused by her being bald. A clip of her head getting shaved catches him (and the audience) up.
  • Hollywood Glass Cutter: Used by the Gangreen Gang.
  • Inelegant Blubbering: The whole gang takes being betrayed by Sedusa badly, but Billy is outright crying.
  • It's Quiet… Too Quiet: At the start of the episode, Buttercup complains about the lack of crime or monster attacks lately. When hearing this, Bubbles even tells her to Be Careful What You Wish For.
  • The Man Behind the Man: Sedusa becomes this to the Gangreen Gang in this episode.
  • Make My Monster Grow: Empowered by the artifacts, Sedusa turns into a gigantess.
  • Medusa: Sedusa was already based on her, and this episode she becomes even more like the mythical gorgon when the artifacts of Cleopatra give her snakes for hair.
  • Mistreatment-Induced Betrayal: As soon as she has all the artifacts, Sedusa ditches the Gangreen Gang and goes solo. Enraged by this, Ace tells the girls they have to get the tiara from Sedusa in order to beat her.
  • Not-So-Harmless Villain: The Gangreen Gang, who usually commit only petty crimes and are generally considered to be more of a nuisance than an actual threat by the girls, suddenly become talented burglars pulling off amazing heists. Justified though since Sedusa is helping them.
  • Parental Substitute: Sedusa got her hooks in the Gangreen Gang by playing a mother figure to them. They're supremely disappointed when she kicks them to the curb.
  • Rapid Hair Growth: Another aspect of Sedusa getting powers from the artifacts is that her hair instantly grows back.
  • Series Continuity Error: A minor one; this is Sedusa’s first major role since "Something’s a Ms.", and it’s revealed her hair still hasn’t grown back since that episode. However, she has had a few cameo appearances in other episodes between those two, which showed her with her hair fully intact.
  • Sequel Episode: To Something’s a Ms. Sedusa is still bald since the events from that episode and wants revenge on the girls because of it.
  • Set Bonus: The 3 artifacts are connected by the Tiara. Take away the Tiara from the wearer, and the other 2 items will lose their power as well.
  • Shout-Out: When Sedusa gains snakes for hair upon receiving the artifacts, Bubbles says "Asps. Very dangerous."
  • Slipping a Mickey: During the gangs’ first heist, Arturo gets rid of a security guard by dropping a sedative in his coffee from the overhead air vent.
  • Suspiciously Specific Denial: Buttercup does this when she sees the Gangreen Gang, especially Ace, fawning over Sedusa.
Buttercup: (While watching the Gangreen Gang bow to a now asp-haired giant Sedusa, scoffs) Typical guys. See some curves and they turn into gibbering idiots! (Blossom and Bubbles look at her) NOT LIKE I CARE!
  • Throw the Dog a Bone: Since the Gangreen Gang got their chains yanked and told them how to beat Sedusa, the girls let them walk away in the end.
  • We Will Meet Again: Sedusa rants in this fashion before getting locked in a cell.
  • You Fool!: After gaining the power, Sedusa shouts this at the Gangreen Gang for thinking she has any further use for them.
  • You Have Outlived Your Usefulness: Once she has the artifacts, Sedusa literally tells the Gangreen Gang that they have served their purpose and should scram.
