"The Potato King": Andy is in the mood for some local Peruvian food, but all there seems to be are potatoes, which he finds boring.

"The Potato King" contains the following tropes:

  • Anthropomorphic Food: Andy imagines a real potato king, who is a talking potato.
  • Does Not Like Spam: Andy spends most of the episode hating potatoes.
  • Faint in Shock: Andy faints after Lucio shows him a basket of potatoes.
  • Growling Gut: Towards the end of the episode, Andy's stomach rumbles when he's hungry for some potato dishes.
  • Imagine Spot: Andy has an elongated one where he meets the potato king and learns about potatoes.
  • Irony: Andy thinks potatoes are boring, but likes potato chips.
  • Literal-Minded: Luna takes the kids to meet Lucio, who she says is a 'potato king.' Andy thinks that he is actually nobility.
  • Shout-Out: When Luna pretends to be a potato king, she says "Be not afraid."
  • Wheel o' Feet: Andy, Carmen, and Leo all get blurry ellipses under their torsos when they chase after Andy.

"The Charango Kid": Carmen finds out that the joy of music comes from playing with friends.

"The Charango Kid" contains the following tropes:

  • Breaking Old Trends: In this episode, the kids already know what city and country they are in. Thus, they decide to play a trick on the Magic Globe instead of asking her where they are.
  • The Eeyore: Beto, the tapir manager of the music festival, is constantly in a melancholy state.
  • Failed a Spot Check: Carmen forgets to put her guitar in its case when she meets up with Sisa. This kickstarts the conflict of the episode.
  • Instant Expert: Carmen suddenly becomes a master at the charango.
  • Jerkass Ball: When Carmen loses her guitar, Beto offers to have her play the charango instead. Carmen refuses on the grounds that she has already been practicing her song for weeks and can only use her guitar. She ditches Sisa, telling her to play by herself, and then has the audacity to get mad when Sisa walks out on her.
  • Jerkass Realization: Carmen sees Andy and Leo having fun with their new friends, which makes her realize she was horrible to her friend Sisa.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: Carmen feels horrible for what she did to Sisa and is desperate to apologize to her.
  • Perpetual Frowner: Beto is always seen frowning, at least until the end of the episode where he sheds a Single Tear.
  • Remember the New Guy?: This episode introduces Sisa and acts like she and Carmen have always been friends.
  • Shout-Out: Leo can be seen flossing.
  • Single Tear: Beto sheds a single tear during Carmen and Sisa's performance.
  • Volumetric Mouth: Carmen gets a large mouth that takes up her face when laughing.
