Go To

Ange attempts to have the norma form an alliance with the DRAGONs and plan to kill Embryo, but Jill has other plans...

Tropes in this episode include:

  • And Your Little Dog, Too!: Jill gives Ange a Sadistic Choice to go along with her plans to kill Embryo by trapping a Bound and Gagged Momoka in the Aurora's decompression chamber.
  • Be Yourself: Ange doesn't attempt to be like Jill in her attempts to free the norma.
  • Big "SHUT UP!": Jill when Ange gives her a "Shut Up, Hannibal!" during their duel.
  • Bound and Gagged: Jill has Momoka tied up in the decompression chamber as a backup plan if Ange refuses to go along with Jill's operation.
  • Call-Back:
    • At the beginning of the episode, Jill reminds Ange about what happened to her in Misurugi way back in "Goodbye From the Gallows" after the latter explains about her plan.
    • In their duel, Ange notes that Jill trying to make her fight against her will is similar to what the humans did to the norma.
  • Cannon Fodder: Jill plans to use the DRAGONs as bait for her plan to have Ange kill Embryo. When Ange objects, Jill also mentions she sees Ange as nothing more than fodder either, just more important than the DRAGONs.
  • Close-Call Haircut: Ange avoids a narrow punch from Jill at the cost of losing a few hair strands.
  • Crazy Enough to Work: When Ange informs everyone of her plans to form an alliance with the DRAGONs, Rosalie and Jill are skeptical. However, Jasmine does think that it's a good idea.
  • The Dog Bites Back: After enduring Jill's harsh abuse for several episodes, Ange finally kicks her down at the end of their duel.
  • Everyone Has Standards: Ange is appalled by Jill's efforts to further Libertas, which include using the DRAGONs, the other Norma and herself as Cannon Fodder as well as leaving a Bound and Gagged Momoka in the Aurora's decompression chamber.
  • Knockout Gas: Tusk uses sleeping gas to knock out Jill and the rest of the Aurora crew to provide a cover for Ange and Vivian to escape.
  • Meaningful Echo: In "Dark Angel of Destruction", Tusk tells Ange "Nobody knows what's right or wrong." In this episode, she says "My friend says nobody knows for sure what's right or wrong." towards the end of her duel with Jill.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero:
    • Jill's desperate efforts to free the norma and kill Embryo further leads Ange to go against her by the end of the episode. Not helped one bit when Jill admits to Ange that everyone involved, themselves included, are nothing more than a pawn in Libertas.
    • Tusk's Plan B unfortunately alerts Salia and the Diamond Rose Knights to the Aurora's location.
  • "Not So Different" Remark: During their duel, Jill reveals that she lost everything like Ange and both want to attack Embryo. Ange shuts her up in response.
  • Oh, Crap!:
    • Ange has one when she realizes the full extent of Jill's plan and when the latter plans to kill Momoka.
    • Maggie, Mei and Jasmine when Jill bats Tusk away while she pins down Ange.
    • Jill when Tusk sets Plan B into motion and before Ange kicks her down towards the end of their duel.
  • Psychological Projection: Invoked by Jill during the latter's duel with Ange in the episode's finale.
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Ange tells Jill about how wrong her methods are in freeing the norma.
  • Sadistic Choice: Ange is given one when she refuses to take part in Jill's plan to kill Embryo: leave Momoka to die on the Aurora or kill Embryo using the DRAGONs as Unwitting Pawns. Ange, being Ange, decides to Take a Third Option.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Ange bails out from the Aurora after knocking down Jill.
  • Shut Up, Hannibal!: Ange refutes Jill's attempts to have her kill Embryo.
  • Skinship Grope: While taking a shower with Ange, Hilda grabs the latter's breasts.
  • Spiteful Spit: Ange spits in Jill's face when she is threatened for disobeying the latter.
  • Stating the Simple Solution: Ange lays out a reasonable strategy to have the norma ally with the DRAGONs and kill Embryo. Sure enough, everyone agrees... well, with the exception of Jill.
  • Take a Third Option: When Ange is presented with the choice of accepting Jill's operation to sacrifice the DRAGONs or watching a Bound and Gagged Momoka die, she decides to break Momoka out and carry out Libertas without sacrificing anyone.
  • Unwitting Pawn: Lampshaded by Jill when discussing Libertas with Ange. Jill says that everyone, including herself and Ange, are pawns to further Libertas.
  • Wham Episode: Ange realizes the full extent of Jill's plan to kill Embryo.
  • You Have Outlived Your Usefulness: Jill considers Salia and her allies who sided with Embryo, as well as her fellow allies aboard the Aurora, as expendable pawns. Not only that, but she considers both herself and Ange, the main pillar in her plan, just as expendable.
