Jou has joined the Boonboomgers, however Ishiro believes there's more to him than simply being "an overtly serious Peacekeeper", and pursues him in the hopes of exposing his "hidden side". Meanwhile, a strong enemy touches down on Earth!?

Tropes

  • The Cameo: Keisuke Asada (yes, the very same Keisuke Asada who was Yuriko's assistant from Avataro Sentai Donbrothers) appears as Jou's superior.
  • Contrived Coincidence: Ishiro spends the early part of the episode trying to suss out if Jou has a darker side to him. Cue the arrival of a Grumer whose power is to reveal the things people suppress within themselves...
  • Creator Cameo: Suit actors Masashi Takada, Shogo Teramoto and Keiko Hashimoto respectively appear as the above-mentioned Asada, the croquette chef, and the tempura lady.
  • Double-Meaning Title: The title represents the focus on Jou (Bun Black but his suit has white), the monster being Toilet Grumer (being white) or how Ishiro thinks in terms of black and white.
  • Foreshadowing: When Genba comes to Taiya's rescue, the camera pans as he speaks to Taiya and shows him standing next to some construction vehicles, foreshadowing him becoming the construction-themed Boon Orange in the next episode.
  • Hidden Depths: Toilet Grumer's water somehow has the capabilities of revealing everyone's hidden personalities. For instance, Ishiro is revealed to be just as passionate as Jou deep-down, even if he thinks he isn't. And speaking of Jou, Ishiro's plot is trying to find this in Jou...and it turns out he doesn't have any.
  • Incorruptible Pure Pureness: Toilet Grumer's water reveals Jou's personality to be entirely genuine, completely subverting Ishiro's initial assumptions of him.
  • Irony: Ishiro attempts to expose Jou's Hidden Depths, but not only did Jou not have any, Ishiro himself was exposed to be Not So Stoic and just as Hot-Blooded as Jou himself. Taiya even lampshades this at the end of the episode.
  • Kick the Dog: A very subtle example, but note that MadRex chooses to create Toilet Grumer from a PWD toilet seat after finding the male restroom to be fully occupied and Itarsha stopping him from entering the ladies' room.
  • Knight of Cerebus: Captain MadRex firmly establishes himself to be a credible threat from the moment he arrives on Earth, going toe-to-toe with Taiya and nearly winning if it wasn't for him getting distracted by his side dog.
  • Luckily, My Shield Will Protect Me: Genba throws a manhole cover at Taiya at the right time to help protect him against MadRex's attack.
  • No-Sell: Toilet Grumer's water has no effect on Jou because he is exactly as he presented himself throughout the series so far — he's not hiding anything from anyone.
  • Out of Focus: Taiya is sparsely seen throughout the episode due to dealing with MadRex, Which is unusual for a Sentai show, as previous Sentai shows would strongly focus on the Red Ranger (Or the White One) even in focus episodes of other Rangers.
  • Taking the Bullet: Jou's first reaction is to shield Mira from Toilet Grumer's attack. After Ishiro put him into that position.
  • Twinkle in the Sky: MadRex slams Taiya so hard, he ends up flying off into the horizon.
  • Two Lines, No Waiting: Ishiro, Mira, and Jou's plot sees the former two trying to find any signs of Jou's hidden personality, with their "investigation" being stopped with the presence of Toilet Grumer. Taiya's plot sees him trying to deal with the newly arrived MadRex.
  • Wolf in Sheep's Clothing: Subverted. Being the cynic that he is, Ishiro believes that Jou's Hot-Blooded Nice Guy personality is a facade for something darker and thus tries to find anything that can support his claim, only to be disproven thanks to Toliet Grumer's water.
  • Worthy Opponent: Taiya earns Captain MadRex's respect for giving him a real challenge. Judging by MadRex's tone, few to none have lasted as long against him as Taiya.
  • Would Hit a Girl: While under the effects of Toilet Grumer's water, the croquette chef slaps the tempura lady across the face.
