Scenario #1: The Son of the Duke

The group is invited to the ascension of their old friend Ragnar's son Vendis, a somewhat stoic and taciturn 16 years old boy, who will soon replace his father as duke. They know Vendis and his father very well as they passed through this region multiple times and occasionally helped Ragnar while also tutoring Vendis each in their own way: Grunlek taught him the etiquette, the respect of all races, and close combat techniques, Théo was his sword master, he had philosophical discussions with B.O.B. about morality and how to discern good from bad magic, and Shin taught him about the wild life and how to not depend too much from the urban life. During the celebration, Vendis's cousin Aledan, bitter and slightly drunk, makes a scene and says in a passive-aggressive way that Vendis is not shaped to leadership.

While the party continues outside, Ragnar brings the adventurers in another room and tells them a secret: Vendis died when he was 8 months old but came back blessed by the gods and thus is a half-elemental, but they don't know of what nature. He asks the group to escort his son to the Red Witch, who would help him understand and embrace his elemental nature. He is especially concerned as his received death threats claiming that Vendis does not deserve to be duke. At this moment, Vendis suddenly screams, holding his head. As everybody tries to calm him down, he says in an ominous voice to Shin "you are not my equal" and a violent shockwave emanates from his body as he calm himself.

They decide to leave through a secret passage to prevent any ambush. In the dark tunnel, they meet a strange homeless man claiming that his mother is stuck in this sewer. Théo wants to help them and follow the men to a pipe from which a inanimate woman stuck out. But he realizes too late that the "mother" is not the woman's corpse but a spider who jumps from the pipe. Grunlek knock the crazy man out and they fight the spider in a difficult battle as it has field advantage in this narrow environment filled with interconnected pipes. They laboriously succeed and leave the sewer. Now inside the city and after some other complications (including a man bullying an old lady and a grumpy blacksmith), they are leaving the city on horses but have the feeling that they are being observed. They are stopped by a wagon accident in front of them and it suddenly starts raining. In the crowd, B.O.B. is the only one to notice a dandy man who happens to be his demonic father Enoch.

  • FAIL — B.O.B. (98/30): He totally failed to sneak behind a suspicious servant to make sure of where she was going: he slipped on the stairs and loudly fell flat, losing her and splitting his lip.
Bob: I have 8 HP. Eight lip splits and I'm dead.
  • HIT — Grunlek (02/60): It allowed him to open with extreme ease the heavy manhole/door leading to the sewer (just after Théo failed to do so, which irritated him).
Krayn: I throw it at his feet. If it ever falls on his toes, it was not intentional.
  • HIT — Grunlek (03/80): Less than one hour after the last critical, while defending some old lady bullied by a thug (he was so short that the guy didn't see the punch coming).
Mahyar: He looked in front of him. He should have looked lower.

Enoch is not here to fight but to offer a deal: bring Vendis back with him and help him with his unknown nature, claiming that the group will have difficulties contrary to him. Uneasy for different reasons, the four adventurers decline and decide to continue their journey, Enoch saying that they will need him sooner than they think. However, the rain has made the road impracticable and they have to go through the forest. Shin freezes the ground before them to help the horses go through the mud. They pass next to ancients dwerven ruins, a place where experimental golems have been built until something went wrong. Fortunately, they don't meet any of these fabled golems, neither do they encounter the infamous "pineteeth tigers" feared by B.O.B.

They end up in a village where they are welcomed by several archers targeting them, led by Shin's old love Dania, a girl who took care of a young wounded Shin on the verge of death, who helped him deal with his own elemental nature, with whom Shin had a passionate but short relationship before he left her to explore the world and accomplish his destiny. She is still bitter at him, because his journey was more important than her but more importantly because his skills could have helped them defend against the golems who attack the village twice a year. B.O.B. tries to convince them to let them see the Red Witch (who happens to be Dania's mother, the village protecting her from unworthy people) but Vendis suddenly has another crisis and Théo is forced to knock him out, which ends up convincing the village that the situation is serious. They indicate a hidden passage leading to the Red Witch.

Scenario #2: Waves in the Forest

Taking well deserved vacations, the team was heading towards a nice camping place on Shin's advice (and B.O.B. grumpy objections as he would have preferred a brothel) but is forced to stop due to the heavy rain and takes refuge under a tree. They suddenly hear a distressed voice in the distance, go see what is going on and meet with a woman driving a wagon away from a giant spider following her. Before they could even react, Théo notices that the spider was not chasing the woman but actually running away itself from a young dragon who eventually catches it, then look at the wagon with a playful face. Théo decides to cut the chariot's freight to lose weight and gain speed while Grunlek throws B.O.B.'s flaming staff to distract the dragon. The staff fortunately lands on the wrecked chariot, setting it on fire and now emitting an odor of gamy meat. The dragon stops its chase and start eating the meat while the team and the woman run away.

  • L2-Ep01: Before attacking what looked like an aggressive spider, he noticed that the spider following the wagon was not attacking it, but was actually running away from a young dragon.
Fred: Can I make a drift with my horse?
  • L2-Ep01: He was supposed to throw B.O.B.'s magic staff on fire to distract the dragon and offer them the opportunity the escape. The staff landed on the wrecked wagon and set it on fire (despite it being almost completely wet due to the rain) cooking the gamy meat inside and distracting the dragon for good.
Bob: The wagon is gonna explode, put on your 3D glasses.

Now safe, the woman tells them that she is called Shaedan and explains that she was bringing food to the town of Lyzandr where her sister lives. This city seemingly has food shortage issues, the information has trouble going in and out of it, and a curfew has even been set up. The companions decide to go see that themselves after a night a sleep. Shin takes the first guard duty and discusses with Shaedan around the campfire when he hears a loud noise in the background. Jumping atop the trees to have a better view, he realizes with shock that a giant wave of water is coming in their direction. Panicked, he wakes his friends and tells them to climb the trees. Théo ties Lumière to a trunk, B.O.B. uses his pyro-teleporation and Grunlek grabs Shaedan and uses his grapple.

  • L2-Ep05: He wanted to use his new Damocles power (that makes an evil aura appear around him and frighten people into doing what he says) to stop the captain of the Guard from killing a prisoner they had. He rolled a 100. His power worked too well and, instead of merely frightening him, he ended up Force Choking him, making him fall unconscious but not before saying to the guards "kill them". This was also the first Critical Failure of the live.
Fred: And of course now I fail!
  • L2-Ep05: He noticed a bunch of elemental assassins in a well before their assault and quickly attacked them before they could do serious damage. If he didn't noticed them, they probably would have killed Sir Délénor.
Bob: (to Seb) I sensed danger, the well is calling for you. It wants you!
  • L2-Ep09: While the Big Bad was transforming/invoking something for their battle, Shin (at Bob's request) made a roll to shoot him and did a 3 in Attack mode, killing him before he could do any of it and breaking the scenario.
Seb: Take that, scenario!! Go back with the Harry Potter fanfictions!!
  • L2-Ep09: In a non-canon "just for laughs" Bad Ending in which Bob decided to actually attack Neptune, Fred invoked a lightning bolt with a 2 and then this happened (according to Bob) with "Through the Fire and Flames" playing in the background:
Bob: Then, under a shining and rising sun, as the dam cracks, we behold a ray of pure light that will behead Neptune!! With a lightning bolt that will electrocute everybody around (except B.O.B. who stands on a rock).

Scenario #3: The Mansion of the Heroes

The group is invited in a remote village in Middland. This village has a long tradition of celebrating heroes and heard of this group of adventurers' recent feats, and invited them on the first day of spring for a feast in their honor along a surprise gift. As they approach the village, they meet (after some shenanigans on the count of Théo's paranoia) with a little boy named Torvald visibly impressed by the adventurers. Some other kids looking for Torvald to bully him tell him that he has no chance to ever become like them.

  • L3-Ep01: A failed perception roll made Théo think that a kid watching them from a tree was some kind of hellish abomination and he tried to throw his lance at him. A second critical failure in a row (which when you think about it saved the boy from being impaled) and the Paladin stuck his weapon into the ground (injuring B.O.B.), was dismounted and sent flying heels over head before landing under the aforementioned tree and accidentally cushioning the fall of the boy. Somehow, Grunlek managed to make it look like Théo jumped into action to save the kid.
Fred: You were looking for heroes? Here we are.
Bob: And now we even bring our own villain to fight.

The group arrives on the village square, where the banquet has already started. It is at the foot of a mountain, where a sumptuous mansion is standing. (We will pass on Icy's gross hijinks.) The burgomaster Arwen, a massive and jovial man, tells them that, as is the tradition, this sanctuary full of wealth and power gems is now theirs. But before the groups could even process the information, a bunch of ferocious orcs, led by the legendary Arrash'Krak the Paladin Slayer, jump from the mountain and attack the party, seemingly drawn to Shin's elemental powers. As the battle begins, the adventurers see with astonishment the mansion dissociate itself from the mountain and gently float away at stroke speed, a hundred meters above the ground.

  • L3-Ep02: After his familiar Icy was caught pissing in a well (which technically means nothing as it is 100% made of pure water), Shin tried to Ass Pull a fake explanation about this being a cultural tradition. But he did a critical failure and nobody believed a single word of it.
Shin: It is form of respect in my half-elemental culture. Magenda wadane ; "urine in the neighbor's well to bring happiness". If you want to join me, we will proceed to this ritual together, and do not feel shame: we are same.
  • L3-Ep02: Théo has a critical in knowledge of the enemy coming, it allows him to know the orc Boss name and title (Arrash'Krak the Paladin Slayer). Bob jokes that - in order - Shin never met orcs (he failed), Bob studied them (passed his check), Grunlek fought them in the past (close from a critical) and Théo has declared a holy crusade against them.
Bob: Are the other ones called "Dwarf Eater" and "Half-elemental Drinker"?
    Seb: …"Water Drinker"?
Bob: Yeah, he's the only orc who drinks water and all the others judge him.

The group eventually defeats the mutants and is now looking for a way to climb into the mansion. They rush to Zael's, the blacksmith, but find the poor man already dead on the ground and the place filled with poorly made booby traps that thankfully didn't activated when Théo broke down the door. As they loot the place for materials, an orc armed with a pickaxe and a chain attacks them from the outside, but they beat him without much trouble. Now equipped with a hastily made grapple, they head toward the flying mansion. As they are about to reach it, Shin notices something falling off the mansion and uses his elemental jump to catch it. It is a man in tears with a power gem fixed to him. The gem starts to shine a "burst" of vines and other plants appears around it, constricting Shin and the man. B.O.B. stay behind to unstuck them, and the man explains that he is a domestic of the manor, which has been invaded by some dwarves who threw him off of it to slow the group, and that his friend Robert is still inside. B.O.B. promises to save him and he and Shin resume their pursuit.

Meanwhile, Grunlek and Théo's run is stopped by an absurdly tall (and presumably magic) wall filled with snakes. Grunlek decides that they should use the grapple now, hits the basement of the mansion with it, and Théo starts climbing the rope. Shin and B.O.B. eventually catch up the mansion, but the rope will soon hit the wall. Shin uses the elemental jump to catch the rope above the wall's height, followed by Grunlek and his grapple-arm. He then tries to use it to catch B.O.B. at the bottom of the rope but misses, and the half-devil bumps into the wall pretty hard but holds still — he fortunately scared the snakes with the fireball prior to that.

They are finally aboard the mansion, in a dark basement. Théo reluctantly heals B.O.B. and they start to explore the place. True to his usual self and against the advice of his companions who try to be stealthy, Théo kicks a massive chest towards a chain noise. Someone violently sends it back.

  • HIT — Théo (02/45): Fred suggests/jokes that if he does a critical success on his Defensive roll, Théo could catch the chest and throw it back. He rolls a 2. Made even funnier once you learn what is in the chest.
Fred: I succeed in everything I do, sir! I am the hero.
Krayn: That's when you realise there is no justice.

The sender, which was a double-headed orc chained to the wall named Dragonosys, is knocked down by the chest and a bit stunned. B.O.B. communicates with him in orcish, and they finally reach an agreement: if he agrees to liberate him (despite the others' concern), he would help them take care of the ones stealing the castle. They also discover a shaken but alive and well Robert who was hiding in the chest, who confirms that several dwarves are upstairs. Shin sends water under the door leading the ground floor and summons Icy to scout the surrounding, but immediately encounter one of the dwarves.

Scenario #4: The Crown of Vaako

After their previous successes in Middland, the groups encounters their old friend Aldo Azur, a bard from the mysterious Immortal race who has the ability to slow down time and who already lived some untold adventures with our heroes. They decide to go to the nearest Golden Counter, a place where adventurers can look for quests given by people in need. Arrived at the Counter, they meet with B.O.B.'s aunt Cyrianna who works there and also happens to be a big fan of Aldo's ballads.

They go inside to meet their rendez-vous, a young noble called Meryle Vaako who recently lost her parents and received a big heritage. She explains that if she will have no problems dealing with her family fortune, she however feels rather uneasy handling one of her family treasure: the Crown of Vaako. This ancient artifact is rumored to detain some hidden powers, and she asks the team to go place it in the Bank of the Sons of Knowledge where the item will be safe from any envy. As she shows them the artifact, Icy suddenly appears and whispers to Shin that they need to stole the crown to save the water elementals.

Before he could even process it, an old man seemingly affiliated with the Church of Blood named Deolin approaches, blind but still able to see thanks to strange contact lenses filled with power gem dust. He directly confronts Meryle and says that the Crown should belong to Aardras, the business partner of her late parents, despite Meryle claiming to be the rightful heiress supported by official documents. Despite this conflict, the group judges that they should still side with Meryle as they swore on their honor to accomplish this mission, and that the Crown should rather be safe locked in a bank than in the possible wrong hands. They leave the Counter under the thinly veiled threats of Deolin, now heading towards the Bank of the Sons and along Meryle herself, Balthazar fearing that she could be in danger alone.

After a day of travel, they find the dead body of a bandit trampled on the ground, and a paper on his corpse reveals that he was supposed to kill the group. At this instant, several ogres appear, one of them running behind another brigand. Shin tries to target the ogre, but it only attracts his attention towards the adventurers, the mercenary takes this opportunity to throw a dagger at Shin that slightly hurt him. Meanwhile, Aldo uses his time-bending abilities to slow down time and throw two daggers at an ogre; one of them go through its eye, killing it. B.O.B. decides to throw a fireball at the bridge to forbid the other ogres to cross the river, and its large radius also hits the mercenary, killing him. Théo notices a bandit hiding in a tree and spying on them bearing the mark of the Exiles, a name given to men excommunicated by the Church of Light, but he disappears before Théo has the opportunity to warn his companions. Using another time-related power, Aldo copies his previous move and perform the exact same dagger-throwing action on another ogre, who also dies on the spot. Grunlek and Théo teams up on their leader (the one that was pursuing the bandit) and eventually put it down after a difficult brawl. The two remaining ogres pushes down a watchtower and a tree to use as makeshift bridges, but Shin sends Icy explode on one of them who falls down in the shallow stream and falls unconscious under chunks of broken ice and wood, and the last one takes to one's heels after Balthazar nearly hit it with a fireball.

They eventually arrive at the bank and are welcome by a woman named Dalanéa who leads them to the treasure room. But B.O.B. is suddenly taken by paranoid thought and doesn't trust the Sons of Knowledge, and beg — almost ordon — Meryle to reconsider. At the same time, Shin notices a water elemental trapped in a bottle in the treasure, and asks for his immediate release. And to complicate everything even more, Aardras appears with proper document attesting that he is the rightful owner of the crown. In the outright confusion, Shin threatens to put the crown on his head, and Grunlek, tired of this stupid stand-off, put it himself on Shin's head who disappointingly finds out that is only gives him a boost of mana. Leaving the bankers, Meryle and Aardras at their argument, they eventually leave the bank with the bottled elemental as payment despite Théo's protests, and B.O.B. promises him that he will pay him the trouble himself.
