Red pulls off various pranks which all result in his friends getting a cake to the face. However, Green turns out to be extra evasive to the pranks compared to the rest of the gang. Red dedicates the rest of the episode attempting to successfully prank Green to seemingly no avail...

Tropes:

  • Bait-and-Switch:
    • When pranking Yellow, Red makes a redstone contraption, giving the implication that the contraption will pie Yellow, only for it to turn out to be a distraction for Red to pie Yellow himself.
    • Red invokes this in his final prank by performing actions identical to his previous prank attempts, only that innocent picnic items substitute what would normally be a cake. This is actually a distraction for Red to secretly enchant various objects with a potion which causes them to assist with the prank. Even the giant cake that the enchanted objects and mobs make ends up being this, as Green erroneously assumes that that was the end of that encounter, only for him to run face-first into a normal cake as he attempts to flee.
  • The Bus Came Back: Purple makes his first non-arc appearance outside of the Actual Shorts after having last been in the finale of the third season. Having previously been a mastermind, he helps Red to come up with an extra elaborate prank to finally get a cake in Green's face.
  • Callback: Red puts a block in a Magic Staff, this time a cake, to use its powers as in "Lucky Block Staff" to rapid fire Cakes at Green.
  • Combined Energy Attack: As the prelude to the climax to his Ultimate prank, Red has been secretly enchanting a Cow, a Chicken, Sugarcane, and Wheat. Together, they combine their Ingredients to form a gigantic cake to drop over Green who barely manages to avoid it in time. Unfortunately for him, it left him open for Red to casually splat him in the face with another cake.
  • The Determinator: Red will get a cake in Green's face if it's the last thing he'll do. Downplayed as he nearly gives up when Purple almost can't come up with a plan, but luckily Purple comes up with one at the last moment.
  • Excuse Me While I Multitask: Green shows off how unbothered he is by Red's attempts to prank him by casually blocking his Cake projectiles with his shield while on his phone.
  • Failure Montage: Red's attempts to prank Green, only for Green to dodge them all despite how much Red escalates his attempts.
  • Foreshadowing: Red's prank on Yellow succeeds by way of distracting him with one thing only to pull the prank from a completely different angle. This is also how he finally gets one up on Green in the end.
  • Freeze-Frame Bonus: Right before the giant cake hits the ground, it's shown that red wool blocks have replaced where Red was (the switch likely occurring while Green was distracted), explaining how he was able to surprise Green from offscreen.
  • Funny Background Event: When Purple formulates his plan, the small Green in the bottom Pictorial Speech-Bubble is shown panicking.
  • Hoist by His Own Petard: Some of Red's attempts to prank Green with a cake lead to him getting caked instead. In his last-ditch effort to prank Green, Red ends up getting thrown into his trapped chair where he gets splatted all over by cakes.
  • Medium Awareness: Red's situation is communicated to Purple through Pictorial Speech Bubbles. In response, Purple directly interacts with them, from attempting to use the pictorial cake to splat the pictorial Green (the latter ends up being just as unprankable as the real Green) to rearranging all the pictures to lay out his master plan to Red.
  • Pie in the Face: The episode revolves around this trope, albeit with cake instead. Red successfully gets a cake in the faces of the Second Coming, Blue, and Yellow, only for Green to dodge the first few attempts with Red upping the ante each time.
  • The Prankster: Red has become this, pranking The Second Coming, Blue, and Yellow with Cakes to the face. However, Green proves very difficult for him to prank. Thus, he seeks the aid of another Master Prankster such as Purple to get Green with the perfect prank.
  • Serial Escalation: It starts with Red making simple contraptions to pie the others before he has to escalate his devices and schemes to pie Green.
  • Spoiler Cover: Initially Downplayed as it only applied to the reaction video on Alan's other channel Animators VS Games, but the thumbnail basically hints that Purple makes an appearance in the video. Said thumbnail later replaced the main channel's video thumbnail, thus now playing it straight.
  • Super-Reflexes: Green's Reflexes have gotten very good over the episodes, borderlining Spidey-Sense, dodging basically every single Cake Red could throw at him, no matter where it is coming from or how it is done.
  • Super Window Jump: After Purple provides him with the perfect plan to prank Green, Red thanks him before jumping out of the window several dozen feet in the air since Purple lives inside a Treehouse.
  • There Is No Kill Like Overkill: Non-lethal example. Red's final prank has him set up by enchanting a cow, a chicken, a sugar cane, and a wheat crop to control them into helping him with the prank by combining their resources to create a gigantic cake which they attempt to slam down on Green. Green manages to barely dodge, but he's left so terrified of what just happened that he ends up running face-first into a regular cake held by Red.
  • We Need a Distraction: As part of Red's prank to Yellow, he builds a machine to show to Yellow which dispenses a minecart filled with a cake. This just drew his attention long enough for Red to smack him in the face with another cake.
  • Unspoken Plan Guarantee: Or in this case unseen plan guarantee; After countless failures of trying to get a cake in Green's face, Red comes to Purple for help in how to prank him. Purple manages to cobble together a plan off-screen that only Red sees but not the audience. Obviously, that plan was the one that succeeded in the end.
