Power Rangers - Mission Training is an interactive DVD special that was released to tie in with Power Rangers Mystic Force in 2006 as an outlet kit to help kids start with some martial arts basics. The DVD came with the Red Mystic Ranger's mask and gloves along with an inflatable bash bag with numbered targets to practice moves.

Tropes

  • Ass Kicking Pose: Whilst showing the morphing poses of past teams as a reference, Rex encourages recruits to create their own personal poses.
  • Big Bad: Lord Mortar, the leader of the Zomboids.
  • Calling Your Attacks: Comes naturally as this training video offers a number of moves named for different Ranger teams.
  • Chromatic Arrangement: Matt and Trevor are the Blue and Green Rangers to your Red Ranger.
  • Fake Shemp: The SPD Red Ranger calls Rex, voiced by another actor than on TV. Presumably, the Red Ranger is Jack Landors, assuming this takes place during and not after Power Rangers S.P.D..
  • Gold and White Are Divine: Rex Ranger's suit is white with gold accents.
  • Hero of Another Story: The SPD Rangers are busy fighting monsters, leaving the recruits to face Lord Mortar and his Zomboids.
  • Humongous Mecha: Rex presents the Zords which the recruits are to use, actually archive imagery of the Wind Rangers' Zords from Power Rangers Ninja Storm. Unfortunately, the special ends just before we can get to use them.
  • Kiai: Rex actually provides an explanation for the "HYAH" that Power Rangers is so fond of; it confuses your enemy as well as helping your strength.
  • Law of Chromatic Superiority: Upon naming you as Red Ranger, Rex observes that you are a natural leader to have defeated Lord Mortar.
  • Make My Monster Grow: Rex recites the old "no escalation" rule, that Zords are only to be used when this happens.
  • Mooks: Zomboids
  • Recursive Canon: In the reality of this special, Power Rangers exist as real life heroes as well as a television show and a toyline.
  • Red Is Heroic: Naturally, you get to become the Red Ranger.
  • Stock Footage: Footage from the Disney seasons Ninja Storm, Dino Thunder and SPD are used as a guide for Ranger recruits.
  • Transformation Sequence: The morphs of the above teams are replayed for your convenience.
  • 20 Minutes into the Future: Takes place at the same time as SPD, which is set in the year 2025.
