In a future USA, a pandemic has ravaged the country and world. Emily and Cara, two young women, get on a boat hoping to escape this on the open sea. The ship goes down, however, with them being washed up ashore on an island far from any land. However, they soon prove themselves quite skilled at surviving and make the best of the situation. They bond, and soon grow closer to the point of becoming lovers. After a handsome man named Finn arrives on the island who may really not be what he seems, they must decide if leaving is really what they want anymore.

A Tubi Original, the film was released March 8, 2023.

Tropes:

  • Action Girl: Cara and Emily both prove themselves pretty adept at survival skills. First off Cara seems more action-oriented, making shelters using just a knife from what she can find on the island. Emily though knows how to spear fish, make a fire and clean fish for eating, impressing Cara. Emily unhesitatingly stabs Finn fatally with her carved spear near the end as well after learning how he's a human trafficker planning to sell the pair into slavery.
  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: Finn acts like he's really a kind man from a rescue ship sent to help Cara and Emily, befriending them in spite of Cara's initial suspicions. It turns out that he's with a group of human traffickers though, planning to sell them both. Emily kills him after finding out.
  • Cosy Catastrophe: Cara and Emily escape the pandemic through fleeing on a boat. Then it goes down, with them washed up on an island. It's a paradise overall, with them becoming quite happy with this, especially once they've become lovers. They even choose to stay forever at the end rather than accept any means back. The rest of the world presumably can fend for itself facing the pandemic.
  • Cult: Cara tells Emily that when the pandemic hit her parents had joined a cult. They planned to make her get married and have a family after turning fifteen. Overhearing, she ran away to escape this.
  • Deserted Island: Cara and Emily wash up on one after surviving the boat they were onboard sinking. It has plenty of fresh water, fish they can catch and fruit though so it's pretty comfortable.
  • I Choose to Stay: Cara and Emily decide at the end to stay on the island even if there's an escape. They have everything there with each other. It's understandable given the outside world is being ravaged by a pandemic and the last ship that might have offered them an escape was manned by human traffickers as well.
  • Love at First Sight: Cara confesses she fell in love on first seeing Emily.
  • Love Confession: Emily tells Cara she loves her after they have a scare when Cara's stung by a jellyfish when they're swimming in the sea. Cara tells her she'd been in Love at First Sight with Emily before they came to the island in reply.
  • Ms. Fanservice: Cara and Emily have revealing outfits pretty often on the island. Emily usually wears a shirt which shows her bare stomach. Cara walks around in her red sports bra which shows her cleavage. Both also swim when stripping off to their underclothes. They later make out while only in their underclothes and then have sex offscreen.
  • One Head Taller: Emily is significantly taller than Cara. She only comes up to Emily's chin when they're standing right by each other.
  • The Plague: A devastating pandemic has struck the world in the backstory of the film. Cara and Emily both tried to escape through getting on a boat away from the affected areas of the US. However, it sinks and they're then left stranded on an island together.
  • Queer Establishing Moment: Cara reveals she's into girls after listing her making out with a girl named Julie as among the things she missed most from life before the plague and becoming a castaway. Emily later admits she's wanted Cara ever since first seeing her on the boat, and they start a relationship.
  • Robinsonade: The plot of the film centers on Cara and Emily, two young American women, washing up on a Deserted Island in the Pacific Ocean somewhere. Both know a lot of survival skills however, with the Deserted Island having many resources to sustain them. They also are quite happy due to becoming lovers while living there.
  • Sexy Discretion Shot: Emily kisses Cara before they make out and start getting undressed. After this, the scene cuts to the next morning, when it's made clear that they had sex.
  • Sole Survivor: Finn tells Cara and Emily that he's the only member of his family who survived after the pandemic hit. Given that he's a trafficker getting close to them so they can be sold, it's quite possible that was just a sob story for gaining their sympathy. Cara and Emily themselves though appear to have been the only survivors from the boat going down.
  • Underwear Swimsuit: Cara and Emily were washed up with only the clothes they had on to the island. After this, they swim multiple times in their underclothes due to this.
