Fanfic / Reacting to Hellaverse

Go To

A mysterious force has brought Charlie Morningstar, her girlfriend, her father, the two Seraphim’s she met, IMP and Prince Stolas and his daughter Octavia to a strange void of a realm where they are made to view adventures starring them.

Reacting to Hellaverse is a Hellaverse "Let's Watch Our Show" Plot Fanfic made by cornholio4.

This fic contains the following Tropes:

  • Abhorrent Admirer: Like the canon show, Blitzø has quite the desire for wanting to be closer to Moxxie and Millie. The audience watches as he stalked them outside of work, invaded their home constantly (much to Moxxie's outrage) and how he’s REALLY into the idea of having a threesome with the couple. To say that Moxxie and Millie are rather "concerned" when seeing their boss express his desires for them through roleplaying two crudely made dolls of them is an understatement.
Vaggie: Congratulations Blitz... You have managed to be the most disgusting creep in an episode with Stolas in it... I haven't even seen Angel Dust do this crap...
  • Adaptational Nice Guy: Downplayed. While Adam wasn't a Nice Guy in canon, it's ambiguous whether he was a Fallen Hero or Evil All Along regarding his status as the first ascended soul into Heaven as "Welcome to Heaven" reveals that Heaven's Elite doesn't know what really gets a mortal soul salvation. In the fic, Adam is of the prior interpretation (though again, he wasn't exactly a Nice Guy even before the Fall) with Sera stating that he only got worse over time.
  • Adaptation Relationship Overhaul: In the Hellaverse, Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss are legally unable to interact with each other. As in the case of A Divine (Romantic) Comedy, the Sins are said to be Charlie’s honorary aunts and uncles.
  • Berserk Button: Loo Loo Land is one for Lucifer to the point where Charlie groaned upon Stolas saying that he’s bringing Octavia to the place on the screen.
  • Big Fish in a Bigger Ocean: Discussed in the Hazbin Hotel pilot episode. Despite Alastor's strange power that allows him to topple older, smarter, and more powerful Sinners and Overlords, both Lucifer and Stolas justifiably see the Radio Demon as unremarkable in comparison to the Seven Deadly Sins. Hell, Lucifer even states that even Stolas is stronger than Alastor, which Vivi does confirm in one of her livestreams.
  • Broken Pedestal: Charlie is shown to be a big fan of Verosika Mayday; getting excited when she appears on the screen but it’s noted that her admiration drops after it is shown that she and her group had sexually assaulted Moxxie.
  • Brutal Honesty: Zigzagged. Blitzø doesn't mince his words by giving his honest if blunt, opinions about the upper beings of both Heaven and Hell. However, both Sera and Lucifer are among them, leading to him getting a Dope Slap (at best) whenever he goes too far. Millie and Moxxie suggested to their boss to tone it down.
  • Do I Really Sound Like That?: When reacting to the part where Charlie imitates her father in what he taught her to "not take shit from other demons", Lucifer indignantly asks his daughter if she really thinks he sounds like that.
  • The Dreaded: Alastor’s reputation is so great in the Pride Ring that even Hellborn like IMP know of him and show fear when they see him on screen. Blitzo states that Alastor turning up at their door would be to slam it shut and then then jump out the window (seeming any pain from this plan would be worth it to get away from Alastor); his employees all agree with this
  • Even Evil Has Standards:
    • Both Moxxie and Millie are creeped out by Blitzø's Abhorrent Admirer tendencies towards them; specifically the more private moments of him playing with crudely-made doll versions of them and roleplaying about wanting to have a threesome with him. While Millie doesn't mind the Blitzø's stalking of them outside of work (and Moxxie is simply annoyed instead of discomforting), witnessing their boss' deep desire of wanting to have sex with them is where they draw the line.
    • When Blitzø's "make sure she washes it" comment is shown on screen, he's quick to point out that he had never met Octavia before and had no idea how old she was. He wouldn't have sex with a teenager. Sera even lampshades that he at least has some standards, with Moxxie agreeing.
  • Failed a Spot Check: As the IMP discusses their next course of action after the obvious end of their illegal Murder, Inc. with it's existence being revealed through the viewings, the other members of the audience clearly overheard their plans since, according to Sera, they made no effort to whisper among themselves.
  • Hated by All: Like in the Hazbin Hotel pilot episode, no one likes or approves of Jeffrey Dahmer. According to Moxxie, even his Abusive Dad wants nothing to do with him or the other cannibals.
  • Hates Rich People: Understandably, Blitzø has a low opinion of those of higher socioeconomic status (i.e. Hell's royalty and Ars Goetia), with some exceptions, due to being an Imp. His first introduction to Charlie is anything but cordial, though he couldn't finish his "The Reason You Suck" Speech due to being Neck Lift by a pissed-off Lucifer.
Blitzø: Listen here bimbo princess; I'm Blitz... The 'O' is silent and this is my darling daughter Loona and my employees Moxxie and Millie. I just want to ask how can we expect to take you seriously when you moved up the Extermination up 6 months ago and ony barely not screwed things up more!
  • Humans Are Morons: Both Lucifer and Sera lampshade on how the humans never catch onto the IMP's horrendous attempts of being covert in their assassinations.
  • Morality Pet: Charlie is said to be one for Mammon; as the honorary niece of the Seven Deadly Sins.
  • Paper-Thin Disguise: Similar to canon, Vaggie doesn't do a good job of blending in as a demon. Loona lampshades this as she easily figures it out just by seeing her in the possession of an angelic spear and having a cross over her left eye. Even Octavia admits that she had figured it out herself.
  • Recruiting the Criminal: When the IMP plans their next choice of career (and to avoid jail time by Lucifer), Millie suggests getting jobs as security for Charlie's Hazbin Hotel (much to Blitzø's annoyance) with Charlie happily proclaiming to be on board with the idea.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: While many of the audience see Charlie as a Nice Girl that may be a bit too nice, even they are surprised at her outright insulting someone with glee in her "Inside of Every Demon is a Rainbow" song. Granted, the person she insulted is her bitter rival, Helsa von Eldritch (who Word of God confirms that Helsa is the demon version of Regina George from Mean Girls), but still...
  • Spotting the Thread: When learning about Charlie's mom, Lilith, being gone for 7 years, Stolas theorizes to himself about the possible connection she might have with Alastor, as the Radio Demon had also disappeared for the same amount of time.
  • Took a Level in Jerkass: While Adam was something of a controlling Jerkass even before the Fall, Sera stated that he did gradually become worse after dying and going to Heaven.
  • Villain Raises a Toast: During the Intermission chapter, Moxxie raises a toast to the End of an Age for the IMP as the viewings made it obvious that their business is no longer salvageable.
Moxxie: IMP; can I propose a toast to our organisation... Now that it's done for now.
Blitzø: What the fuck are you talking about Mox?
Moxxie: Even you should be able to figure out what I am talking about sir; IMP as a business is done for! D-O-N-E! DONE! We shouldn't pretend that our business has any sort of future now; the ruler of Hell himself now knows of our very much illegal business and not only him but angels including one who I presume to be very high ranking... Even if by some miracle Lucifer wouldn't have a problem with letting us continue; there is no fucking way that the angels would allow him to let IMP exist... We have been killing humans up in the human world without disguises and they have witnessed some of the worst things we have been up to... Including that mutated fish on the beach that had escalated from a dispute over a parking space...
  • Would Hurt a Child: The IMP, except for Moxxie to a certain extent, has no problems with assassinating children and mutilating their deceased corpses if they're being paid to do it (or if the child is very unpleasant). Safe to say, Charlie, Vaggie, Emily, and Sera are very disturbed by this revelation during the Helluva Boss pilot episode.
