A Night To Forget is a The Loud House fanfic by That Engineer, from the creator of Syngenesophobia and What is a Person Worth?. It is available on FanFiction.Net here, and on DeviantArt here.

The Sadie Hawkins Dance is supposed to be the best night of any kid's life. But for Lincoln, what was supposed to be a simple plan quickly got out of control and ended in disaster. With his social reputation damaged and his relationship with Ronnie Anne severely strained, it's up to four sisters to fix their mistake and make amends to everyone involved.

The story is complete with three chapters.

The story provides examples of:

  • All of the Other Reindeer: Because Lincoln was beat up at the dance, his social standing was ruined. Thankfully subverted when Luna, Luan, Lynn, and Lucy willingly humiliate themselves so people would forget about the dance.
  • The Atoner: Luna, Luan, Lynn, and Lucy try to make it up to Lincoln for the mess they got him into.
  • Big Brother Instinct: Lori for Lincoln when she learns what really happened.
  • Big "SHUT UP!": Lincoln to his sisters when they accuse him of bailing on the dates.
  • Big Sister Bully: Luna, Luan and Lynn end up becoming this to Lincoln without noticing. Lucy ended up being an Inverted case.
  • Cool Big Sis: Lori for Lincoln.
  • Disappointed in You: Tabby tells Luna this when she learns the truth about what happened.
  • Didn't Think This Through: Like in the actual episode, Luna, Luan, Lynn, and Lucy realized they each got Lincoln a date to the dance at the last minute, but guilt trip him into going after he reveals he lied about Ronnie Anne. They leave it up to Lincoln to solve this problem on his own, and unlike how it went in the episode, it snowballs into a big issue.
  • Easily Forgiven: Averted. Lincoln does not forgive his sisters until they make it up to him in the end of the story.
  • Happy Ending: Luna, Luan, Lynn and Lucy explain to their friends and Ronnie Anne how they forced Lincoln to go on the dates without any help. They go to the arcade and apologize to Lincoln and make up with him. Luna, Luan, Lynn, and Lucy willingly humiliate themselves so people would forget about the dance and to punish themselves, and it's implied that Lincoln will forgive them.
  • Humiliation Conga: Invoked, as Luna, Luan, Lynn, and Lucy humiliate themselves so people would forget about the dance.
  • Ironic Echo: Lori uses her sisters' remark "you dug your own grave, and now you get to lie in it" against them when telling them that they have to figure out for themselves how to solve the mess they put Lincoln in.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: Luna, Luan, Lynn, and Lucy willingly humiliate themselves so that people will forget what happened at the dance.
  • Let Me Get This Straight...: Said almost word for word by Lori when she sums up what her four sisters did to Lincoln.
  • Misplaced Retribution: Lincoln's dates attack him when they thought he was cheating on them, and Ronnie breaks up with him and starts to bully him. Thankfully subverted by Lori when Luna, Luan, Lynn, and Lucy explain what happened and Lori rightfully calls them out on their actions.
  • Mistaken for Cheating: Tabby, Giggles, Haiku, Polly AND Ronnie Anne all think Lincoln was cheating on them.
  • My God, What Have I Done?:
    • Luna, Luan, Lynn, and Lucy when they learn what happened to Lincoln at the dance.
    • Tabby when Luna told her the truth.
    • The rest of Lincoln's dates and Ronnie when they learn the truth.
  • No-Holds-Barred Beatdown: Lincoln was a victim of this from his dates when they thought he was cheating on them.
  • One Side of the Story: Averted. Luna, Luan, Lynn, and Lucy assume that Lincoln had bailed on his dates when he comes home all beat up and start accusing him, but he yells at them all to shut up. He lampshades this by saying how he's tired of being interrupted all the time and he tells them what really happened at the dance.
  • Poor Communication Kills: All of Lincoln's problems come from him and his sisters planning independently of each other.
  • Rage Breaking Point: When Lynn accuses Lincoln of bailing on his dates, he tells his sisters to shut up, and when Luna tells him she's sorry for what happened, he blows up at them.
  • Rejected Apology: When Luna tells Lincoln she's sorry for what happened to him in the first chapter, that just makes him more angry.
  • Stating the Simple Solution:
    • As Ronnie points out, Lincoln could have just refused to go on the dates in the first place. Subverted, as Luna, Luan, Lynn, and Lucy would have made him go if he refused; Ronnie is angry at the sisters when she learns this.
    • And as Lori points out, if they did not want to disappoint their friends, they could have called them and explain what happened.
  • Two-Timer Date: Like in the episode it is based on, Lincoln ends up with four dates simultaneously. And he knows such dates always end in disaster.
  • What If?: What if things ended badly for Lincoln in the episode "Dance Dance Resolution"?
  • What the Hell, Hero??: Luna, Luan, Lynn, and Lucy get this from everyone when they learn the truth.
