To sum it up, Tatsuki Fujimoto clearly has a talent for making even the briefest and most one-off characters seem like the most interesting and intriguing people you'll ever meet. Even Cr1TiKaL in his review semi-accurately joked that the manga/anime has spawned numerous accounts each dedicated to solely thirst and gush over one of these characters.

  • Despite dying rather early on, Himeno is still very beloved by the fandom for being a badass tomboy with cool powers and a fun, flirtatious personality, and often ranks very highly on lists of the most well-liked (and most lusted over) characters in the entire manga. At the AniTrendz Fall 2022 Anime Awards, she even won Best Female Supporting Character despite only appearing in 4 episodes. Even MAPPA seems to like her, considering that three of the show's 12 endings are primarily focused on her, and many anime-only fans expressed shock that she died so quickly considering how popular she is in fanart. However, this seems to be more of a phenomenon in the West, as she's much more divisive in her home country.
  • Kobeni, the nervous wreck of a devil hunter has become very popular for being all-around adorable, as a lot of fans empathize with her and relate with her situation, being forced to do a job she doesn't want to do for money and her family, and she's commonly regarded as the fanbase's little cute daughter because of all that, but also a complete badass when she is done taking shit from Public Safety's greatest enemies, as Akane and Katana Man would later discover.
  • The Violence Fiend for being comically polite and prone to tactical retreats. Him being one of the few characters that’s unambiguously kind to Kobeni certainly helps.
  • The Bomb Devil (Reze) is popular with readers due to her attractive design, awesome powers, her Ship Tease with Denji, and for her memorable fight scene. She even ranked #4 in the first popularity poll, higher than Denji.
  • The eight-legged spider lady Prinz quickly caught the fandom's eye thanks to her Ugly Cute design.
  • Yoshida has a small fanbase due to being one of the more overt Bishōnen of the manga. His contract with the Octopus Devil giving him a unique powerset helps, too. He notably ranked 5th place in the second popularity poll despite having no appearances since the first poll. Being one of the only supporting characters still alive by the end of Part 1 certainly didn't hurt his popularity any. His general popularity's even been a surprise to Fujimoto, who's confirmed that he'll have more of a role to play in Part 2. And while he's been sporadically used throughout Part 2 so far, the fact that almost every appearance has raised even more questions about him has created a mysterious atmosphere around him that fans are engaged with.
  • Tendo and Kurose get a good amount of love from the fandom in spite of only relevantly appearing in three scenes. Tendo in particular is considered an underrated waifu due to her being tall. Their unceremonious deaths at the start of the International Assassins Arc is widely considered a waste of potential. Kurose's standalone chapter tends to be cited as a sleeper hit chapter in spite of the real Kurose being dead with how it easily fleshes out minor characters.
  • All of Quanxi's Fiend girlfriends were a huge hit with the fanbase for their Cute Monster Girl designs and being a rare depiction of a healthy and loving polyamorous lesbian relationship in media at all, let alone an action-horror shonen manga.
  • Quanxi herself is quite popular with readers due to her beautiful design, her status as World's Best Warrior, and her relationship with her girlfriends.
  • Kobeni's car actually managed to place seventh in the popularity poll, despite being an inanimate object. It placed even higher than Kobeni.
  • The Darkness Devil only has a major role in one chapter, but its nightmarish "fight" is one of the most iconic moments in the whole series for its surreal artwork and terrifying displays of power.
  • Nayuta is insanely popular with fanartists and writers as a surrogate daughter/little sister to Denji and a walking, talking Makima redemption arc. Even though she first appeared in the very last chapter of Part 1, her full reappearance was eagerly awaited by the fanbase, to the extent that many rejoiced when she briefly appeared in one panel in Ch. 111 that only showed the back of her head.
  • The first chapter of Part 2 had, at the time of this writing, been out for less than a day and Bucky the Headless Chicken Devil was an instant hit with the fanbase due to the sheer strangeness of the concept and his many bad poultry puns, despite, or perhaps because of, the fact that he died almost instantly.
  • The Devil Hunter Club at Asa's high school gained a lot of praise and attention online for bravely standing up to the transformed Yuko, even though it seemingly cost them all their lives. Many rejoiced when Chapter 112 revealed only one of them actually died. One of the named members, Seigei, draws comparisons to Agni while the unnamed female member's appreciated for her simple yet cool design. The club got more appreciation in further appearances (especially with the later introduced member mentioned below).
  • Though he didn't have this status beforehand, the increased attention to his character provided by the anime adaptation led to a sudden rise in the popularity of Hirokazu Arai, despite, or possibly because of, his being an utterly unspectacular normal person thrown into the mad world of Chainsaw Man - especially since the anime showed that he saved Kobeni’s life in his last moments. The popular fan theory that his body becomes the Violence Fiend - a theory that’s also been strengthened by the anime adaptation - certainly hasn't hurt his popularity any.
  • Similar to Arai, while she was largely overshadowed by characters like Reze, Makima, and Himeno among manga readers, Akane Sawatari skyrocketed in popularity after the anime aired thanks to being a ruthless Dark Action Girl with an extremely badass Devil contract, especially thanks to the surreal and unsettling way MAPPA animated her Snake Devil.
  • It took about five seconds after his debut in Chapter 114 for the entire fandom to fall in love with the Devil Hunter club member who looks and acts like a male Kobeni, and was swiftly dubbed "Kobeni 2" or "Brobeni". His name was later revealed to be Nobana Higashiyama, confirming that he is in fact related to Kobeni.
  • The Falling Devil rapidly became one of the most beloved Devils in the series after taking form and introducing herself, for being an incredibly sophisticated Consummate Professional, her stunning design, and having more restraint and morals than other Devils (if incomprehensible ones). She only grew more popular as she continued to show off her personality and abilities.
  • The news reporter that occasionally appears throughout Part 2 has developed a small following of her own.
  • The surgeons at the Public Safety facility (despite being cold enough to dissect Denji and store him in boxes) are quite popular due to their nonchalance when Yoru and Katana Man threaten them, which increased after they go along Quanxi and Denji's allies with the plan to rescue him due to not liking Takagi, the Jerkass Devil Hunter.
