Zoë Wanamaker (born 1949) is a British-American actress.
Though born in New York City, she was raised in the United Kingdom after her father, American actor Sam Wanamaker, was affected by The Hollywood Blacklist. Zoë went on to begin her own acting career on the British stage, starting with the Royal Shakespeare Company. Other than her stage work, she's also built up a long resume of television roles, including various literary adaptations, the long-running sitcom My Family, Poirot, Britannia, and the ITV series Girlfriends.
Perhaps as a result of her classical training, onscreen she tends to play authoritative women with an air of class, genuine or not.
