Dominique Rousseau

Player: Aura

Arcanum: X - Fortune

Dominique is a French transfer student, as his name implies. A highly-disorganized artist in his first year at Mishima University, Dominique is easily distracted from anything other than his art. A very energetic young man, he nonetheless has experienced loss - the death of his childhood friend and crush, Sebastian haunts him to this day.

Dominique's Persona is Gwydion, a hero, magician and trickster who incited a war between the north and south through stealing magical pigs.

Tropes

  • Attention Deficit... Ooh, Shiny!: Dominique is not the most focused of individuals, except when it comes to his art. Even then, he's often willing to let it go and come back to it later. It's hinted that a part of this is to escape his memories of Sebastian's death.
  • Broken Bird: A bit. He struggles with the death of his friend and crush, even seven years later.
  • Keet: He's also fairly cheerful on a regular basis, and has a great deal of energy to burn off.

Kumi Nakura

Player: Cipher

Arcanum: XVI - The Devil

Kumi is the twin sister of Rei Nakura, and is part of the Nakura family, a pharmaceutical powerhouse. Unlike her brother, Kumi is sociable - however, this should not be mistaken for friendliness. Because of her upbringing, she is used to the adulation of others, and has grown somewhat dependent on it for her self-worth. She is in her fourth year, but is in the process of dropping out.

Kumi's Persona is Heian Tengu, a beautiful, illusory woman without any Tengu-like traits.

Tropes:

Mai Rivori

Player: Bolt

Arcanum: IX - The Hermit

Mai is a brilliant young woman whose genius is so great that she rarely has to put forth effort into anything. A bit of a recluse, she does not usually engage with people (because most people don't understand her level or speed of thought), though she still treasures the relationship she had with her Childhood Friend. A professional video game streamer, she spends much of her time either playing games, reading romance novels, or simply lazing about.

Mai's Persona is Athena, the Greek goddess of Wisdom, Battle, Civilization, and patroness of Athens.

Tropes:

  • Brilliant, but Lazy: Oh yes. Mai is intelligent to the point that she sees Mishima's University as vacation in comparison to her previous university, in Rockport in the US.
  • Gamer Chick: A professional one, at that. She plays games of all sorts... so long as they have a romance subplot to engage with her somewhat hidden romantic side.
  • Sloth: Mai is a lazy person - there's no real getting around it. She skips what work she can, relying on her natural intellect to overwhelm any academic challenges.
  • Surrounded by Idiots: Her brilliance leads her to assume that no one else is smart enough to keep up with her, even when that isn't wholly true.

Makoto Umehara

Player: Icarael

Arcanum: I - The Magician

A young transgender man who aspires to become the third Great Detective Prince. Though he has not yet transitioned as he is too young to legally do so, he presents himself as male and considers himself male. Intelligent and upright, he is usually isolated from his peers because he does not think others will be able to understand him.

Makoto's Persona is Abe no Seimei, the most famous onmyoji of the Heian period.

Tropes:

  • Expy: Makoto is very similar to what Naoto Shirogane would be if she were (as many fans speculated) a transgender man.
  • Secret-Keeper: He doesn't talk about secrets— especially his own. Unfortunately, his definition of "secret" is broader than most people's.
  • The Stoic: Makoto keeps most of his emotions under wraps, with the exception of when he is on the track field.
