Catherine Aura (Vulture/Dolphin/ Human)
Originally one of Rudy's teachers, later his coach on the hunting team. Was head of the Great Bird Conspiracy, and originally left the timeline, but returned to squelch cross-dimensional issues. Left to the human timeline for good, becoming a dolphin and, if you follow her Twitter, a human.- Fourth-Wall Mail Slot: In recent years, human!Catherine has become a background character through a Twitter account. Her husband monitors the human side of the portal.
- Retcon: When she initially teleported to the human world permanently, she and Nigel became dolphins. They were later shown to be humans instead. Why and how have never been explained.
Nigel Aura (Vulture/Dolphin/ Human)
Catherine's son, friend of Coney. Went with Catherine back to the human timeline.- Devoted to You: Catherine has had difficulty restricting Nigel's crush on Coney. One of the things she needs to do on her side of the portal is prevent him from seeking her human counterpart.
Greg (Human)
Only featured in Catherine's Twitter account, the captain of the Ursa who eventually marries Catherine, adopting Nigel and fathering Ursula.Ursula (Bear)
Catherine and Greg's daughter, only featured in Catherine's Twitter account. Because of Catherine originating from Domain, Ursula was born an animal. (She's more specifically a bear, which is what Greg's counterpart in Domain is.)- Foil: To Francis Fennec
Sam Pardus (Cat; born Sam Eyeshine)
Caliban Academy's hunting team head coach, and Aby's brother. Originally presented himself as a leopard, believing being a domestic cat would result in him not being taken seriously as a hunter.- Put on a Bus: Sam hasn't appeared since Rudy, Fiona, and their classmates graduated from Caliban Academy in 2015. That could certainly change if Coney and her friends end up at Caliban.
Majora "Manny" and Marjorie Ursal (Bears)
A retired couple who, for a long time, were neighbors of Kevin and Kell. They eventually moved to Florida. They are the parents of Minora Silvertip, who was thrown out when she and her then-boyfriend Bob rejected meat. They reconciled before the Silvertips abandoned strict vegetarianism.- I Have No Daughter!: Manny and Marjorie rejected Minora and Bob because Bob refused to eat meat, and Minora decided to follow suit
when they married. It's later alluded to that their friendship with the Dewclaws (and Kevin, in particular) was a form of penance. When Kell stumbled upon the prodigal children (and their subsequent son, Harcourt), she reported on their parents' change of heart, and Harcourt made contact with his grandmother, facilitating a tearful reunion and reconciliation. - Meaningful Name: Manny's real name is a play on "Ursa Major", the constellation also known as the "Big Bear" (of which a portion makes up the "Big Dipper")
Bob and Minora (née Ursal) Silvertip (Bears)
Parents of Harcourt. Always rebels, originally abandoning meat-eating, later openly abandoning hibernation.- Hippie Parents: As close as you're gonna find. Though they eventually returned to being omnivores, they would later abandon hibernationnote
- Meaningful Name: Minora's name, like that of her father, is a play on "Ursa Minor", which is the "Little Bear" (or "Little Dipper").
Fran Caudal (Rabbit)
Current Headmaster of Caliban Academy. Formerly betrothed to Kevin, but that fell apart. Was a political rival to Kevin before he recommended her to her current job.- The Rival: Originally came up as a political rival of Kevin's.
Sheldon "Teapot" Dome (Tortoise)
The long-time recreation administrator for Domain, and an early political rival of Kevin's. He originally presented himself as a species purist...until it was discovered he had impregnated his secretary, a weasel, and tried to hide it. They later married, and he became an ally of Kevin's on interspecies relationship issues.- Hypocrite: Well, considering Bill Holbrook's typical depiction of politicians, it comes as no surprise that someone who presented as so against hybrids and interspecies relationships ended up fathering a child with a campaign worker who wasn't a turtle.
- Meaningful Name: "Teapot Dome" is a scandal that affected American president Warren G. Harding.
- Technophobia: It was later established that Sheldon preferred not to adapt to advancing technology because a girlfriend left him 100 years before present for an abacus technician.
Reverend Bruinooge (Bear)
The head pastor at the Domain Unitarian Church. In addition to being the spiritual advisor to most of the cast in recent years, he's presided over the weddings of Lindesfarne and Fenton, Dip and Caniche, Aby and Mark, Leona and Carl, Edgar and Miranda, and George Gopher and Ophelia; as well as the baptism of Savanna.- Ascended Extra: In his first few appearance, he was known as "Mr. Bruinooge", and appeared at a few early school board meetings when Kevin was first elected. He eventually was revealed as a pastor. He may be merged with another bear pastor, Pastor Worcestershire, who led the Carnivore Church but was last seen prior to Rev. Bruinooge's first appearance.
Miranda's Uncles/Stepfathers (both Rabbits)
A Straight Gay married couple. The white one was the brother of one of Miranda's biological parents. They adopted Miranda after her parents were eaten when she was a baby. It is implied that at least one, if not both, are on the Rabbit Council.- Maligned Mixed Marriage: Despite two reasons for such, this is averted. Miranda's uncle is a white rabbit (like most in the Domain area), and his partner is a black rabbit. There are no obvious racial overtones to this. And no one bats an eye that they are gay, same as the marriage between Rachel Einhorn and Joan Hoof.
- The Nameless: Neither one has been named. Since we don't know which of Miranda's parents her uncle was the brother of, or whether or not they gave her their last name when they adopted her, we can't even assume their last name is Hutch.
- Papa Wolf: Imagine having two fathers who are like this. Miranda noted that they both were always overprotective of her, even while her uncle encouraged her to be "adventurous". They both were also equally uneasy initially in regards to her relationship with Edgar, as they discussed with Kevin early on.Miranda's Uncle's partner: (to Kevin) Not all of us have daughters covered in quills, you know.
- Put on a Bus: They moved out of the Rabbit Warren to follow Edgar and Miranda when she got drafted to the Fresno Combines of the National Gardening League. This opened their home in the Rabbit Warren for Rudy and Fiona to buy. Ostensibly, they are helping Edgar start an acting career.
- Shipper on Deck: Despite Miranda being attracted to carnivores, her uncle's partner hoped she'd get together with Carl.
- Straight Gay: Neither of Miranda's dads express any flamboyant characteristics. They are portrayed as just two guys who happen to be married to each other.
Dr. Caduceus (Sidewinder Pit Viper)
A large snake who works as the Dewclaw family doctor. Like a doctor should be, he is kind, caring, and honest, counter to what one would expect of a snake. (We have seen him with someone making a bulge in his body, but they were a telemarketer, so he probably just cured many people of a case of constant annoyance.)- Healing Serpent: He's a snake and he's a doctor. His name also reflects this.
- Reformed Criminal: He was seen in a flashback connected to seedier characters in his youth. One of his friends was critically injured while trying to hunt Kevin and Fran when they were babies, and Caduceus resuscitated him. The incident led him to the medical profession.
Dr. Apgar (Chicken)
Obstetrician at Chewtoy Hospital. Was involved in the births of Rudy (via flashback), Coney, Francis, and Savanna- Furry Reminder: When Kell was in labor with Coney, she sat on Kell's belly as if she was incubating an egg to "induce labor"
Dr. Linzer (Bear)
Pediatrician. He treats all diets, as he's been seen treating Wendell, Coney, Lin, Hockley, and Gweneth.Boney (Wolf; original name Alfon "Bonesnapper" Blutenstein)
Custodian at Happy Little Predator Preschool. An emigrant from Australia, he is the estranged eldest son of Melbourne wolf pack Boss Alpha Manfred Blutenstein. He had faked his death as part of a scheme to permit his father to declare his wolf pack would no longer hunt civilized, sapient animals, making peace in particular with the local rabbit warren. It is unknown if he still works at Happy Little Offspring School since the merger.- The Cameo: Boney appeared in a comic in 2015. The previous day, on his original comic Doc Rat, it was revealed that Ben and Daniella had named one of their rattlings after him.
- Kayfabe: Boney came to America after staging a duel with his father. Officially, as far as Australia is concerned, Alfon is dead. He is living in Domain under a new identity.
Delphi's mother (Virginia Opossum)
Exactly What It Says on the Tin.- Mommy Mobile: Literal Metaphor. In her first appearance, she picked up Delphi from school by carrying him, something real life opossum mothers do with their children after they outgrow the pouch.Delphi: My ride's here. Mom's picking me up.
Turvy: What kind of car?
Delphi: Car? - My Beloved Smother: She is hyper-protective of her son to a fault, as one incident of her scolding Delphi for his adventurous nature almost led to an owl taking him. She did relax—a little—when Turvy proved that she could protect Delphi.
