Main Characters

    The Girl
The unnamed protagonist of the game. She is a YouTuber who travels to the haunted manor and investigates it for her channel.
  • Canon Name: The default name is, oddly enough, “Girl”.
  • Exhausted Eye Bags: Gains these as the story goes on and she is further thrust into the horrors of the manor. Looking in a mirror shows that she has developed these.
  • Hello, [Insert Name Here]: You can name her whatever you want.
  • Tareme Eyes: She has this style of eyes, which makes her look perpetually sleepy and, later, uneasy and stressed.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: The girl carries chocolate bars with her, even having a favourite brand.

    ?/The Stranger
A mysterious person who frequently communicates with the girl.
  • Alternate Self: One of many for the girl.
  • Ambiguous Gender: For most of the game, since the stranger stays hidden from view, there is no discernible gender. The endings confirm she is female, as an Alternate Self of the girl.
  • Big Bad Ensemble: She manipulates the girl into carrying out the ritual with intent to trap her inside so she can escape instead. The Entity possessing the mansion is the other antagonist.
  • Exhausted Eye Bags: She has them even more prominently than the girl, to show all the madness she has endured that has hardened her and turned her manipulative.
  • My Name Is ???: Her name is displayed as ? in her text boxes.
  • Tareme Eyes: The style takes a more sinister turn with her Dissonant Serenity and Exhausted Eye Bags.
  • Treacherous Advisor: She guides the girl through the mansion, but is planning to sacrifice her so she can escape.
  • Two Aliases, One Character: Double subverted. When she shows herself and has the same appearance as the Sackhead Slasher from earlier, it might seem like they were the same person all along. However, she clarified that they are different people... sort of- they are two versions of the main character from different timelines.
  • The Voice: The stranger is always behind a closed door, only ever heard but not seen. They say it's because they "look awful". Even when they're in the same room as you, it's usually too dark to see them. Subverted in three of the endings, where we finally see her, and it is revealed that she is an Alternate Self of the girl.

    The Killer
A person wearing a sack who goes after the girl and wants to kill her.
  • Alternate Self: One of many for the girl.
  • Sackhead Slasher: She wears a big sack over her head and kills people with a knife.
  • Two Aliases, One Character: Double subverted. When the stranger shows herself and has the same appearance as the Sackhead Slasher from earlier, it might seem like they were the same person all along. However, she clarified that they are different people... sort of- they are two versions of the main character from different timelines.

    The Bandaged Prisoner
A person in the basement cells with a face obscured by the wrappings all over it.
  • Alternate Self: One of many for the girl.
  • Bandaged Face: The person locked in the prison cell has their entire head above their mouth bandaged with dirty, bloody bandages.
  • The Farmer and the Viper: After completing the prison cell door puzzle, freeing her, you can choose to tell her that she can escape with you... at which point she jumps on you and kills you.

    The Monster
A purple, tentacled monster who attacks the girl in the second half of the game.

    The Entity
The thing possessing the mansion.
  • Big Bad Ensemble: It is possessing the mansion and preventing the girl from escaping, making it the primary enemy aside from the stranger.
  • Demonic Possession: Whatever's possessing the manor is trapped and can only escape through a human vessel.
  • The Ghost: Possibly; we are never given confirmation on what the creature looks like (though it might be the giant eye monster encountered in one of the nightmares).
  • No Name Given: We never learn just what the creature is.

Unseen Characters

    The Cult
A cult that lived in the manor.

    The Cult Leader
The leader of the cult.

    The Almighty
The god that the cult worshipped.
  • The Ghost: Assuming it is not the entity possessing the mansion, we never see it.
  • Greater-Scope Villain: The cult worshipped it and summoned an entity in its behalf. Assuming it is not the same entity, then it is not directly involved in the plot.

    Alto
The herald of the Almighty.
  • A Form You Are Comfortable With: Alto, the herald of the cult's god, tests one of his choosing by assuming the form of the person they hold the most dear.

    Everet
A friend of the girl.
  • The Voice: He appears only in a very brief, seemingly random phone call.
