Also, I think at some point Yuki commented about the fact that Kuyou's Rapunzel Hair was longer than what could be expected of someone of her apparent age, saying something about a mistake in Kuyou's "emulation". Speaking about Yuki, it seems her body is more or less unessential to her. For example, in SB-1 she remarked (almost offhandedly) that "organic body" won't survive the transition out of Kuyou's Shadow Song.
@Mad Kitsu:
IMO, Sasaki's Power Nullifier is not the biggest obstacle that stands in way of her potential (or perhaps eventual) Relationship Upgrade with Kyon. It's the guy himself.
Even if he didn't consciously realize it, Kyon did end up heartbroken because of Sasaki (at least from what one can infer from Nonoko's narration). I can't be really sure about this, but I think he may not take well to this Internal Reveal, probably responding with strong disbelief and denial.
If you pardon my amateur psychoanalysis, I think the fact he didn't really deal with the issue, instead just ignoring it, suggests he will try to avoid it again and perhaps attempt to argue against the whole idea of Sasaki liking him, maybe going as far as to deconstruct Sasaki's feelings and chalk them up to the exclusive result of him saving her from her ordeal, feelings that she will come to accept as misplaced once she feels safe again and not longer indebted to him.
It's just me or the Ironic Echo in the above scenario (unintentionally) came out a little too harsh?

As a matter of personal preference, I always try to avoid using the same screen name among different sites and sometimes among different threads on the same forum if it's big enough to warrant it. For example "Specular"
is a formerly unused username that I recycled for K:BDH related stuff*.

In other words, Kyon will likely tell Sasaki "Let's Just Be Friends"? Um...
The problem with that line comes in the form of three simple words: Big Damn Harem. Haruhi doesn't want to keep lying to Sasaki about that, and once she does find out, along with Kyon giving that line?
Why do I see that as "not ending well", kitsu?
Instead, I think that Kyon will talk Sasaki into trusting him and the others, and then Haruhi and Tsuruya* will talk her and Kyon into accepting her into the group, leading to her joining in the harem.
@ Off-topic: I often go by many names myself, actually. In fact, I have this off and on thought of legally changing my real name to something else, just because both first and last name are far too commonly used, especially the first name. There's just too many people with that name, damnit!

She is, what I'm getting at is what it says that she can limit herself to those senses. You were talking about whether she could attend the training sessions or not, so that's what I'm getting at. Yes, she has an existence outside of that body, but what I'm talking about is the difference between, say, a ghost possessing a body and a hivemind controlling one specific creature. I think that scene implies the former is the case, so why shouldn't she be able to attend the training sessions? But then the quote you found implies the opposite. So like I said, I'm not sure what to think really.
As for Sasaki, I think you're right to a degree, but two things:
1. I don't think his issues are as bad as you're suggesting they are. I think he has relatively mild avoidance issues when it comes to Sasaki, but not, like, consistent and insurmountable.
2. Following from 1, maybe I should have said he "had" mild avoidance issues because I think he's already over them. Kyon's already gone through his avoidance period with Sasaki - recall how he actually made something up to get out of having to meet her - but he got over it once he finally did meet with her and saw the kind of trouble she's in.
That's just my take on it though.

In my estimation Kyon do like Sasaki and, as with Haruhi before, he's just too good at not thinking about it. In other words, what I described in my last post amounts to a knee jerk reaction and not to how I think thing will be sorted out in the end.

OK, now I'm good.
I didn't put too much thought into it. It just sounded more or less OK to me that Haruhi could demand something paradoxical or simply impossible from Kyon. After all, she is someone who can say things like "Damn you Kyon! Why couldn't you notify me first before waking me up!? I wasn't even mentally prepared!" with a straight face.
Perhaps not just Haruhi. It sounds like a standard Rom Com setting: Girl and Nice Guy hooks up, Nice Guy is too nice with other girls for Girl's tastes, Girl asks Nice Guy to tone down the niceness, Nice Guy doesn't really get why she is so worked up about such a trivial thing but tries to comply nevertheless.
I got another idea for a snippet: Achakura becomes confused after her "Kiss by Proxy" with Kyon and decides to seek advice with the most wise, insightful and socially apt person she can think of: Magical Radiant Nonoko (a.k.a. "Shishou")

It doesn't exist anymore due to "destructive testing editing". Once I wrote the scene, I considered it ran too long so I trimmed it here and there, fused some lines of dialogue together, etc. before posting, but it was pretty much the same thing, so no big loss regardless.
