Ashley Elizabeth Fliehr (born April 5, 1986) is an American professional wrestler performing under the ring name Charlotte Flair (originally just Charlotte). She is currently signed to WWE, where she performs on the SmackDown brand.

Flair began training in 2012 and has received training from her father Ric Flair, former WCW midcarder Lodi, and the Performance Center staff at WWE. She debuted on NXT in 2013 before being promoted to the main roster in 2015.

Under her current ring name, Flair is one fourth of WWE's "Four Horsewomen" (alongside Sasha Banks, Bayley, and Becky Lynch), a cohort of four women who came through NXT and were a major part of the revolution of women's wrestling in WWE, through their stellar matches. The four are named for her father's stable, "The Four Horsemen".

Flair has main-evented WrestleMania, Raw and Hell in a Cell, has been in thirty title matches, was Women's Champion for 700+ days, and has had title matches in all four WrestleManias since her debut. She is also a two-time NXT Women's Champion and WWE Divas Champion, and became the fourth Women's Grand Slam Champion by winning the Women's Tag Team Championship with Asuka in January 2021.

Altogether, Flair has won 16 women's singles championships — 17 in total counting the aforementioned Tag Team Championship — but as WWE do not consider the NXT Women's title to be a "world" title retroactive to her 2nd reign with the belt, she is recognized by them as a 14-time women's world champion.

Prior to her wrestling career, Flair was a former high school volleyball star and a certified personal trainer.

"If you're gonna trope it, trope it with Flair!":

• The Ace: Charlotte is billed as being "genetically superior" and she certainly shows it. She's typically either taller, stronger, or quicker than whoever is across the ring from her. Usually, it's two or more of those, and often, it's all three. Her moveset features an answer for any type of opponent and any type of match. She uses powerbombs and spears, a variety of neckbreakers, submission work, and some good old fashioned high-flying. And she's far above average at all of them.
• A Hero to His Hometown: Despite her reputation as a polarizing figure, she can reliably get positive reactions from her home city of Charlotte, North Carolina.
• Arrogant Kung-Fu Girl: Charlotte is very self-aware of her superior talent, and if it wasn't for her arrogance and tendency for showing off, she'd be unbeatable (instead of just mostly so).
• Actually Pretty Funny: At the first Smackdown after WrestleMania 34 during the IIconics' debut segment you can see her trying her hardest not to laugh during Peyton Royce's impression of her.
• Alpha Bitch: Replaced Summer Rae as the head of the Beautiful Fierce Females when Summer got promoted to the main roster, before the BFFs disbanded and Charlotte made a face turn. She then became one again after turning heel and winning the Divas and Raw Women's Championship, becoming arrogant to the point she disowned her own father for over a year.
• Alternate Company Equivalent:
  • Can be considered one (and also a Distaff Counterpart) towards NJPW's Kazuchika Okada, both being extremely talented, bleached-blonde wrestlers with gimmicks that can be described as "Ric Flair clone", they are also massively pushed by their respective companies. Their characters are also quite similar, being somewhat of an Arrogant Kung-Fu Girl yet not incapable of showing respect to those who they deem Worthy Opponent.
  • Her Horsemen lineage also draws a fair amount of comparisons to Impact Wrestling's Tessa Blanchard, and the two have expressed mutual interest in facing off should they ever end up on the same roster.
• Always Someone Better: Charlotte walks out the victor of nearly all her feuds; even if the person manages to beat her for her title, there will eventually be a rematch where she will avenge her defeat and reclaim the title. The main exceptions have been Becky Lynch and Bayley.
  • Becky and Charlotte have fought more than a dozen times from 2015 to 2021, with nearly half a dozen of them occurring from 2018 to 2019. The commentators mentioned in Evolution 2018 during their match that the score at the time was 5-5-1, but by Survivor Series 2021, the score was in Becky's favor.
  • From 2015 to early 2017, Charlotte was undefeated in 16 straight single PPV matches and managed to reclaim her title from Sasha Banks three times. When she feuded with Bayley, Charlotte initially had the upper hand until Bayley defeated her for the title on the February 17th episode of Raw, and again at both Fastlane and [WrestleMania. Fast forward to 2019, Bayley managed to crash Charlotte's only victory against Becky during their 2018-2019 feud by cashing in her recently won Money in the Bank contract on Charlotte, moments after Charlotte won the SmackDown Women's Championship. They have several more matches after that, but like with Becky, it was Bayley who usually comes out the victor.
  • While Nia Jax didn't face Charlotte often, she beat Charlotte cleanly more times than she lost.
• Amazonian Beauty: She has a toned figure and stands a statuesque 178 cm (5'10").
• Arch-Enemy:
  • Likely former BFF Sasha Banks in NXT. She, Becky Lynch, and Paige are all fast becoming each other's on the main roster despite starting out all on the same team.
  • Has become this to Bayley after the latter moved up to the main roster. At this point, it's safe to say that she's this to whichever of the Horsewomen is on the opposing side as her.
  • Natalya is the closest non-Horsewoman to this trope. While their battle on NXT was more or less a love letter to the Flair and Hart legacies with much mutual respect between the two women, their main roster championship rivalries in middle 2016 with Charlotte as a heel and Natalya as a face, and in fall 2017 on SmackDown Live with Charlotte as a face and Nattie as a heel, were far more contentious.
  • Rhea Ripley just doesn't like her at all and thinks she is just a spoiled Daddy's Girl that constantly steals the spotlight from her and other female talents in the company. Both women fought each other numerous times on Raw, NXT, at Wrestlemania and even in a parking lot.
• At Least I Admit It:
  • When a freshly heel-turned Bayley talked about wanting to be a role model and protecting the SmackDown Women's Championship from her, calling Charlotte "the most selfish person on the whole roster", Charlotte came out to respond. She didn't deny Bayley's accusations, even called herself the Queen of Selfishness, but countered that she wasn't pretending to be anything else, while Bayley was having an identity crisis.
  • More broadly, honesty seems to be Charlotte's primary face quality as of her 2019 face turn, with her still being arrogant and full of herself yet also willing to cop to it when she makes a mistake or underestimates an opponent. (As a heel she'd be pointing fingers and making excuses.)
• Backstabbing the Alpha Bitch: Did so to Summer Rae, dissolving the Beautiful Fierce Females.
• Berserk Button: Paige made a gutless mistake insulting the memory of Charlotte's baby brother, Reid.
• Big Bad: Has been the top female Heel most of the time since the mid 2010s and she always has presence in the title scene, making her the primary obstacle for the women.
• Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: After Survivor Series 2018, Charlotte claimed that she beat up Ronda Rousey in the name of her best friend, Becky Lynch. The following week however, she dropped all pretense of this and proclaimed that she was doing it for herself.
• Brutal Honesty: Has a reputation for this in interviews. She's openly said that she doesn't excel as a babyface because Bayley, Sasha and Becky are all more likable than her and she has a hard time getting sympathy due to her physique and Flair heritage.
• Call-Back: For her match against Dana Brooke, which was one of her last before her sudden call-up to the main roster, she wore the gear she had donned in her debut match.
• Canon Name: Originally wrestled as just Charlotte, but was openly acknowledged as Ric Flair's daughter. Finally changed in late 2016 when her ring name officially became "Charlotte Flair".
• Chronic Backstabbing Disorder: At this point, it would probably be easier to list the names of the people Charlotte hasn't thrown to the wolves in pursuit of title gold. Becky Lynch has been the most frequent recipient, but other names include the likes of Bayley and Charlotte's own father. In short: never trust a Flair.
• Daddy's Girl: During Charlotte's face runs, most notably her fall 2017 storyline where she chased Natalya's SmackDown Women's title in her father Ric Flair's honor after his recent health scare. If you ever watch them in an interview out of kayfabe, it's clear where this comes from, as Charlotte still looks at Ric like an adoring little girl who's just so happy her daddy's home.
• Daddy's Little Villain: What this trope turns into during her heel runs, such as in the NXT ArRival event. Ric even helped her defeat Emma in a match. One of her nicknames is actually "Daddy's Little Nature Girl", often shortened to just "The Nature Girl". In addition, since Charlotte's move up to the main roster, Ric Flair was a constant presence at ringside and a nearly as constant interference in her matches until shortly after WrestleMania 32.
• Defeat Means Friendship: Defeated Bayley in her debut match and the two somehow became friends afterwards. She ended up betraying Bayley thanks to Summer and Sasha's convincing, but after becoming NXT Women's Champion and defending the title against her, they ended up making friends again. Since it is Bayley, it's not that unreasonable.
• Defeating the Undefeatable: She was the one who ultimately ended Asuka's undefeated streak in WWE.
• Demoted to Extra: Inverted. Charlotte constantly being given title runs made other contenders lose their momentum to the point most of them were turned into Jobbers. This is what made Becky Lynch so frustrated that she attacked Charlotte at SummerSlam 2018 as Becky had been working hard to earn a title opportunity after being ignored for two years only to be blind sided by Charlotte once again. The formerly undefeated Asuka also suffered the same fate after losing to Charlotte at WrestleMania 34.
• Distaff Counterpart:
  • To her father, thus also coupled with Legacy Character, who's referenced implicitly in every Red Baron she has. She does share many traits with him, such as the pick-apart approach and use of the Figure Four, surprising athleticism (her moreso than him), the "Woo!" tic, the superior attitude to what they do in the ring, and the ability to be seamlessly face or heel as the plot and audience demands. Even her theme tune is a remixed, sped-up version of her father's.
  • To Roman Reigns, another person who came from a Wrestling Family dynasty who were often given heavy pushes from management numerous times despite poor fan reception. They even have the Spear as part of their moveset and have the same placement in the first four Royal Rumbles they participated in (runner-up, winner, second runner-up, runner-up again).
  • To Brock Lesnar, especially during Lesnar's second run in the company. Both are rather controversial as they always gets a title match without needing to compete in a number one contendership first as well having a long undefeated streak. The comparison becomes rather clear when Charlotte, near the end of 2021, rarely defends her championship anymore much like most of Brock's championship reigns and even participitated in a Royal Rumble match as a champion without needing to defend said championship.
• Dude, Not Funny!: How did she defeat Natalya at Payback 2016? By reenacting the Montreal Screwjob, with Nattie's uncle and the Screwjob's original victim Bret Hart at ringside.
• Early-Bird Cameo:
  • While there was no way it was an intentional nod to future events, Charlotte's first appearance on a wrestling show actually happened at the age of 13 on the May 15, 2000 episode of WCW Monday Nitro, when Vince Russo (accompanied by Daffney and her own half-brother David) invaded her father's house. At the time she was obviously only known by her (almost) real name of Ashley Flair.^note It's actually "Fliehr", but she had to have the same last name as Ric for storyline purposes. The family has pronounced its name "Flair" for longer than Ric has been alive. She made a few more appearances supporting Ric during his match at The Great American Bash and the Nitro the following night, and even tried to interfere but was restrained by Russo's mooks.
  • Also unintentional, but one of her first total appearances was in a late 90s Apter Mag, in a section where wrestlers were shown with their children.
  • Appeared on WWE television for the first time supporting her father in his Tables Ladders & Chairs match for the WWE Championship against the defending champion Edge, back on January 16, 2006, several months before her 20th birthday.
  • She also appeared at ringside to support her father at WrestleMania XXIV for his famed retirement match against Shawn Michaels, three years before she'd sign with WWE.
• Easily Forgiven:
  • Following her Face–Heel Turn in 2017, everyone who had a beef with Charlotte (from Becky Lynch to Ric Flair) over the last year easily forgave her without a pat on the back or her apologizing.
  • Finally subverted at SummerSlam 2018, where it turned out Becky hadn't forgotten any of what Charlotte did, but had held back how she felt until Charlotte snatched yet another victory away at the last second.
• Evil Costume Switch: After Charlotte turned heel at Survivor Series 2018, she started to wear darker make up like Becky. This change also showed how much Charlotte was jealous of Becky Lynch after her own Face–Heel Turn a few months earlier and Charlotte's refusal to stay out of the spotlight, and the resulting new appearance even was similar to Becky's. Fans ses this as another of WWE's attempt to make Charlotte as popular as Becky. Charlotte eventually drops this and returns to her usual attire as WrestleMania 35 gets closer.
• Evil Versus Evil: Managed this twice at once in May 2020 by feuding with Sasha Banks and Bayley on Smackdown and Io Shirai and Rhea Ripley on NXT at the same time. Of those four, Rhea is the only Anti-Hero.
• Expository Hairstyle Change: After her Face–Heel Turn her hair had been two-toned but became fully blonde and a little shorter. Also when she won the Women's Championship, she added extensions and always wore her hair curly.
• Eye Take: Young Charlotte looking at Vince Russo like he's a creepy scumbag (which he is) is the best thing ever.
• Expy:
  • Remarkably similar to Tamina Snuka character-wise during her 2012 push in that she uses many of her father's signature moves, taunts and Catchphrase. Not to mention they both started their careers in developmental a bit later than most female prospects, are more physically built for battle than the average woman, and their character surnames were first treated as Canon Names, then later officially applied within their ring name.
  • As of 2018, she plays a very confident character with pedigree (not that one) and superior natural athletic talent that is clearly favored by management even though she tends to be Always Second Best when it comes to crowd reception. She also seems to have a dark side that can flip on at a moment's notice and result in her being frighteningly violent, often at the expense of wrestling protocol. Cutter variations in their signature move pool? Mentored in and out of the ring by Ric Flair? Absurdly highly decorated with 10+ world title wins to their credit? She may as well be the Distaff Counterpart to an in-his-prime Randy Orton.
• Face Fault: She would inherit the "Flair Flop" (i.e. fall flat on her face) as a tip of the cap to the old man.
• Face–Heel Turn:
  • When she turned on Bayley and joined the BFFs.
  • And again when she turned on Becky Lynch at the behest of her father's crooked ways.
  • And once more in the closing months of 2018, which saw Charlotte beat the living Jesus out of Ronda Rousey at the behest of Becky Lynch... only to again turn on Lynch herself two weeks later when she revealed that she didn't do it at the behest of Becky but for herself, and returned to the cruel, remorseless heel persona for which Charlotte is arguably best known.
  • Once again in 2021 after Wrestlemania, where she attacks Asuka and does her heelish promo the night after.
  • The Raw after WrestleMania 37, where she attacked both Asuka and Rhea Ripley. She explained her actions, claiming she doesn't steal opportunities, but is the opportunity.
• Female Fighter, Male Handler: As if to erase any doubt about her being a Legacy Character, Charlotte has spent some portions of her career being managed by her father Ric.
• Finishing Move: Originally a forward somersault cutter called Bow Down to the Queen (then the Natural Selection); now uses a bridging figure-four leglock that she calls the Figure Eight, a Spiritual Successor to Ric's figure-four.
• Five Moves of Doom: While they don't finish a match, she usually hits a couple chops, a spinning shoulder neckbreaker, and a spear to set-up her finishing sequence.
• Freudian Excuse: WWE has implied over the years that a lot of Charlotte's personality issues come from being Ric Flair's daughter, from the entitlement it breeds to alternate levels of resentment over him being absent from her life for so long, being only known as his daughter, him wasting his money on everything but his own family, and especially his constant flirting with women that she no longer finds cute.
• Full-Circle Revolution: Nikki Bella was a heel who held the Divas title for over 200 days, and fans insisted it was only due to nepotism while certain other wrestlers they saw as more talented couldn't get a look in. Finally she was knocked off the top of the mountain by Charlotte. A year later...
• Fun with Acronyms: She, Sasha Banks, and Summer Rae were BFFs, which actually stands for the "Beautiful Fierce Females," the name of their wrestling stable.
• Girly Girl with a Tomboy Streak: Charlotte carries herself with a very feminine affect, especially compared to her tomboyish frienemies in the Four Horsewomen, including her haughty Ice Queen personality and Pretty in Mink entrance gear, and often uses gymnastic moves in the ring that show off her long legs including her Finishing Move. But on the other hand, she becomes a Screaming Warrior during her matches and has a moveset that includes a lot of direct damage attacks like a charging kick, the spear, and chops to the chest.
• God Save Us from the Queen!: Refers to herself as the Queen whenever she's a heel, at the height of her arrogance and malice. Additionally her finisher was named 'Bow Down To The Queen' for a while, though that stopped when she first Took a Level in Kindness.
• Good Is Not Nice: Even her face persona is liable to boast and rub her accomplishments in other people's faces, and she can be quite ruthless with those who cross her.
• Graceful Ladies Like Purple: Tends to wear a lot of purple on her ring gear. Makes sense if you look at her Meaningful Name below.
• Green-Eyed Monster: Bonus points for Charlotte having green eyes. Though her feud with Becky from 2018 originally sterns from Becky's jealousy of Charlotte's constant presence in the title picture, Charlotte eventually shares the same sentiment due to Becky's overwhelming popularity and Charlotte refusing to share the spotlight with anyone else. This is eventually carry forward to real life and the dissolution of their friendship.
• Hate Sink: Considered to be the top heel in women wrestling, Charlotte is ruthless to practically everyone, from her closest friends and to even her father. She has a long list of betrayals and Kick the Dog and never showed any remorse of her actions. Outside the ring, she also received a lot of heat, especially in 2018-2019 during her feud with Becky, especially the controversy regarding her replacing Becky for the main event of WrestleMania 35.
• Hair-Trigger Temper:
  • You can tell in her promos that she does NOT like being cut off by audience chants, actually snapping at one point and lashing out at the fans while they "WHAT?" her chewing out of her own father, and during one promo calling her own hometown's fans idiots for cheering and Woo-ing the Flairs no matter how badly Charlotte talks about them. Ric had his days too, but he never took it out on the fans as bad as she did.
  • It's also very easy, as of late 2018, to provoke Charlotte into kendo-stick-swinging madness and get her disqualified. Just last long enough in the ring with her, and she'll get frustrated and reach for it.
• Heel–Face Revolving Door: Happens once or twice a year by 2019. See Face–Heel Turn and Heel–Face Turn.
• Heel–Face Turn:
  • When she stopped Sasha Banks from continuing to attack Bayley after Charlotte's match with her on the Fatal 4-Way special, followed up by her treating the defeated Bayley with good sportsmanship after a later rematch. Good sportsmanship appears to be the reason why Charlotte finished her NXT run as a face — well, that and Bayley.
  • In 2017 after been attacked by Natalya, Tamina, and Carmella when she almost won the title against Naomi.
  • Towards the end of 2019 after being victimised by Sasha Banks and a recently heel-turned Bayley. This time, though, she became a Nominal Hero.
  • Once again, after a triple-threat feud between Asuka and Rhea Ripley, she once again turns face, cemented after teaming with Natalya and Tamina.
• Hero Killer: It doesn't matter if the person is famous in other parts of the world, an up-and-rising superstar, a Wrestling Monster, a Hall of Famer or even an Invincible Hero, Charlotte is guaranteed to walk out the winner of her feud due to her status as a Creator's Pet. The only exceptions are Becky Lynch and Bayley and even then it took them multiple attempts to dethrone Charlotte.
• Hoist by His Own Petard: Lost her fourth SmackDown Women's Championship within two minutes of winning it because she just couldn't resist trying to hurt and humiliate Money in the Bank contract-holder Bayley. Charlotte went for a spear, Bayley slipped out of the way, and Charlotte knocked herself out cold on a ringpost, giving Bayley a miles-wide window of opportunity to cash in her contract, land her Diving Elbow, and pin Charlotte for the title.
• Hypocrite:
  • The daughter of the Dirtiest Player in the Game calls Bayley a cheater when she herself had done it in many of her matches, including reenacting the infamous Montreal Screwjob on Natalya.
  • In 2018, she is angry at Becky for betraying her, putting the championship over their friendship. Two years earlier, Charlotte was the one who valued the championship more and betrayed Becky. Charlotte even berates Becky for her being an entitled, cowardly, selfish brat ever since turning heel, traits that Charlotte is all too familiar with, regardless of whether she's a Face or Heel.
  • Has the audacity to call out Becky for being absent because of her injury when Charlotte herself was absent for a longer duration earlier the year due to ruptured breast implant.
  • She also has the tendency to complain that WWE officials playing favorites on others, when she herself is the person who is being favored for years.
• Heterosexual Life-Partners: Charlotte was best friends with Becky Lynch outside the ring (which can also show up in the ring if they're in the same face or heel alignment).
• "I Know You're in There Somewhere" Fight:
  • She was tremendously hurt by Becky Lynch's betrayal in late 2018, considering that the two had been best friends on- and off-screen for the majority of their respective WWE careers. On October 23, 2018 episode of SmackDown Live, she sounded completely heartbroken when she screamed "Who are you?!" at Becky after a brawl at the WWE Performance Center. Weeks prior, during Becky's championship celebration, Charlotte had this to say:
    Charlotte: I came out here tonight to show you respect. But no... I also wished that there was a little bit left of my best friend inside of whatever this [motions to Becky] has become.
  • Ironically, she found that little bit of her best friend a short while after Becky had decisively defeated her again to retain the championship. Specifically, the night after Becky got injured leading a hellraising raid by the SmackDown team over the Raw women's roster, Becky was treated as a heroine by the ladies and picked Charlotte to replace her in the upcoming match against Ronda Rousey at Survivor Series, telling her to do to Ronda what the champ wouldn't be cleared to do and even hugging her before leaving the ring.
• Invincible Hero/Invincible Villain: Regardless of whether she is a Face or a Heel at the time, Charlotte has a lot of accomplishments over the years.
  • Charlotte rarely loses a match or is pinned/submitted during a non-singles match, both during PPV and televised matches.
  • From the moment she joined the main roster, Charlotte was immediately pushed to be the top woman in the company. Within 3 months, she ended Nikki Bella's longest Divas Championship reign, and from there on, she proceeded to defeat every woman in the company.
  • Following her heel turn in 2016, her father constantly interferes in her matches, and even when he is banned from ring side, Charlotte has Dana Brooke to help her. After ditching her father, Dana continuously helps Charlotte during her matches, even when she treats her like hell. When Bayley defeats her for the third time, she immediately pulls strings to rectify her victory and defeats her in another match with Dana Brooke as the guest referee.
  • From 2015 to 2017, Charlotte never lost in a singles match on PPV. This finally came to an end on Fastlane 2017 where she lost to Bayley.
  • Combining her Divas Champion and her first Raw Women's Champion reign, Charlotte has been a champion even longer than Nikki Bella's second Divas Champion run (the longest reign before the title retires). In fact, Charlotte has been a champion for almost the entirety of 2016 and has been a four time Raw Women's Champion before the championship is even a year old.
  • During her feud with Sasha Banks in 2016, the two constantly trade the Raw Women's Championship, with Sasha winning it on Raw and Charlotte regaining it a few weeks later on the next PPV. Their feud ends at Roadblock: End of the Line, with Charlotte still the champion and Sasha not allowed to have a rematch due to the match stipulation.
  • By 2017, Charlotte was the only woman to hold all three brand Women's Championship (with the exception of the original) and the Divas Championship.
  • Becoming the first person to defeat Asuka in singles competition, ending her historic undefeated streak.
  • Breaking Trish Stratus' record of most PPV wins by a woman and most Women's Championships won. Both records were also broken faster than it took Trish to accomplish them. In addition to this, she even defeated Trish at SummerSlam 2019.
• It's All About Me: Whether she's a Face or Heel, it is pretty clear that Charlotte cares more about herself and the championships than even her own father. It also became part of her gimmick for her to acknowledge how much the company obviously favours her. This became more apparent after Becky's rise in popularity in which Charlotte was unable to sit out of the spotlight and tried to piggyback on Becky's popularity, including taking credit for her winning the 2019 Royal Rumble match, and wanting to replace Becky at WrestleMania 35 after Becky was suspended.
• I Wished You Were Dead: In 2016, to add insult to her father after betraying him, Charlotte tells him she wishes he was dead before slapping him.
• Jerkass: As a heel, Charlotte is singly one of the cruelest, most ruthless, and most utterly unlikable wrestlers on the roster, playing the role to an absolute art form. Notably, out of character, she thinks she's better suited to being a heel.
• Jerkass Has a Point: While she is most likely trying to stir the friendship of Bayley and Sasha (who both are heels, as is herself), she made a valid point to Sasha. She ran down all the accomplishments they achieved in their first year in WWE and Sasha being a 6 time champion. Charlotte (as a heel) always has this Royal pain side to her, but she's not wrong in how Sasha's place in the company significantly dropped while all the other Horsewomen have continued to accomplish.
• Karma Houdini: After being an extreme bitch for more than a year, Charlotte turned face in April 2017 after moving to SmackDown following an attack from Carmella, Tamina, and Natalya, and was easily forgiven by Becky and her father despite the things she had done to them as a heel without even so much as a sorry.
  • Karma Houdini Warranty: This came to bite her back a few years later when Becky and Ric eventually stop playing nice with her.
• Kick the Dog: Charlotte's favorite pastime, having mocked everyone from Becky Lynch, Sasha Banks, Bayley, Natalya, Bret Hart, Dana Brooke, and even her own father.
  • At Payback 2016, Charlotte reopened an old Hart Family wound by reenacting the infamous Montreal Screwjob on Natalya while her uncle was ringside.
  • After she replaced Becky Lynch as Ronda Rousey's opponent at WrestleMania 35, Charlotte claimed that she was doing this for her best friend, but her tone of voice plus her jealousy over Becky's popularity clearly suggested otherwise.
  • She recently beat up a referee and then forced him to apologize to her for mishandling the match.
• Lightning Bruiser:
  • While she hasn't shown as much of it on Raw, in NXT Charlotte once attempted to moonsault Sasha, who rolled out of the way, leaving Charlotte to stick the landing and turn it into a somersault senton.
  • As of her championship run, this is definitely the case. Her moveset has maneuvers that take advantage of her height and strength relative to the other ladies in the division, but she also makes regular use of the moonsault.
• Meaningful Name: She was billed from Charlotte, North Carolina, though that was changed to 'The Queen City' so as to avoid redundancy with her ring name. Charlotte is the feminine form of Charles, which means royalty (and Charlotte, North Carolina was named after a queen consort, hence why its nickname IS the Queen City). The Queen City billing could also be a reference to how North Carolina, and the southeastern United States in general, is often referred to as "Flair Country", effectively representing that Ric in kayfabe named his daughter after "his" capital city and has in effect entrusted her with its honor.
• Ms. Fanservice: After her hiatus in middle 2020, she posted her photo wearing a black lingerie on her Twitter and Instagram.
• Nepotism: A common complaint of how Charlotte was treated throughout her career, due to her being Ric Flair's daughter. She also did a (non explicit) nude shots for a sports magazine around that time.
• Nominal Hero: She became this after being victimized by recently-turned Heels Sasha and Bayley. WWE didn't try to make her seem heroic, merely positioning her as selfish and arrogant, but honest about it in contrast to the self-deluding Bayley. Indeed, while she and Becky Lynch would form an Enemy Mine against the two of them, they didn't give any indication that the long history of betrayal and vitriol between them was gone.
• Oh, Crap!: At Fastlane 2018. Charlotte had just won a hard-fought title challenge against Ruby Riott and stood tall and proud in the ring, taking in the glory and victory... and then Asuka's entrance theme hit and the all-feared Women's Royal Rumble winner stepped into the ring to challenge Charlotte to a title match at WrestleMania 34. Charlotte's facial expression could best be described as resignation to being devoured.
• Older Hero vs. Younger Villain: The Younger Villain opposite Trish Stratus' Older Hero after it was announced they would be in a match at SummerSlam 2019. Charlotte mocked Trish's age and accused her of being afraid of being out of the spotlight. She also made a dig at the era of WWE women's wrestling in Trish's heyday being full of low-to-no-talent female wrestlers using fanservice to cover for their lack of in-ring ability, which Trish countered by pointing out there were also many women like herself who could actually wrestle around that time.
• Parts Unknown: Subverted. She is billed from "the Queen City", but it's clearly assumed that's actually Charlotte, North Carolina, "The Queen City" being a nickname for the city.
• Pet the Dog:
  • Upon winning the NXT Woman's Championship, she thanks Natalya profusely.
  • She has greatly softened her outlook on Bayley, treating her with much more respect and kindness after defending the title against her in a couple of hard-fought battles. This eventually led to them reconciling their friendship and reforming their Tag Team against Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch, effectively turning Charlotte face.
  • She can appreciate when her opponents get the better of her to win a match or to get her out of the equation. In the Royal Rumble 2021, both Bianca Belair and Rhea Ripley worked together to eliminate her before the final two. Charlotte couldn't help but give them credit and accept her loss.
• Power Trio:
  • The BFFs became this when Charlotte joined Summer Rae and Sasha Banks.
  • Charlotte later completed Becky Lynch and Paige's team against Team Bella and B.A.D.
• Progressively Prettier: When she debuted, she had rather dull hair and modest ring attire. Around the time she became a Beautiful Fierce Female, she got a boob job, went fully blonde, gave herself long hair, and wore more make-up and sexier ring gear.
• The Psycho Rangers: Team Disingenuous (Emma and Dana Brooke) were these to Bayley and Charlotte respectively. Emma was the playful Cloud Cuckoo Lander... who was also The Bully and a Troll. Dana Brooke was the Amazonian Beauty and bodybuilding champion... who rubbed all her achievements in everyone's faces and had an ego that wasn't quite warranted. They were a stark evil contrast to Bayley and Charlotte's face characters. Recently Becky Lynch, who's become a steampunk face and formed PCB with Charlotte and Paige, ended up taking or at least filling in for Bayley's spot at the Takeover tapings to much similar effect.
• Quizzical Tilt: Had this reaction to Bayley Jumping Off the Slippery Slope and slashing her Bayley Buddies to death during their 2019 title match.
• Ramming Always Works: Uses a spear regularly as part of her moveset.
• Rage Quit: Starting with her match against Ronda Rousey at Survivor Series 2018, Charlotte has developed a pattern where, if her opponent survives too much damage and gets her frustrated, she'll grab a kendo stick from under the ring and start smacking her opponent with it, intentionally DQ'ing herself rather than letting the opponent have the satisfaction of a proper win.
• Rearrange the Song: Her "Recognition" theme incorporates a similar guitar riff to her original theme song, and the iconic tune of her father's theme song.
• Red Baron: Has several, all tending to be based around her lineage.
  • Daddy's Little Nature Girl and its oft-used shorthands, Daddy's Little Girl / The Nature Girl.
  • Genetically Superior and The Queen as a heel.
  • The Flair of NXT back when she was on NXT.
  • The Dirtiest Diva in the Game.
  • Going by her latest T-shirt, Second Nature's being tested out.
• Retcon: The feud between Charlotte and Becky in 2018 painted Charlotte as the one who values friendship and angry at Becky for breaking their years long friendship, completely ignoring everything that had happened two years earlier when the roles were reversed. Then again, WWE rarely brings up the past events of a feud. The 2018 feud itself got progressively retconned itself due to Becky receiving the fans' support, leading WWE to tweak the storyline and portray both Becky and Charlotte as both having valid points, but neither being outright heels, before by the time Becky won the 2019 Women's Royal Rumble match, Charlotte was clearly the heel while Becky was clearly the face, albeit as a rebellious Anti-Hero.
• Screaming Warrior: When riled up, Charlotte lets out a warcry when using a spear, suplex or her father's patented chops.
• She-Fu: As a former gymnast, she uses a lot of cartwheels and handsprings in her matches. For a long time she used them in her entrance as well.
• Shout-Out: She uses her now ex-husband Bram's neckbreaker.
• Smug Snake: Tends to be one whenever she has the advantage over her opponent or when she talks them down. This is apparent during the 2019 Women's Royal Rumble match when it is down to Becky and Charlotte in the final two but Becky injured her knee after an attack from Nia Jax. Fully confident that Becky will forfeit, Charlotte smugly smiles and was ready to have her hand raised, only for Becky to enter the ring.
• Spotlight-Stealing Squad:
  • Not only was Charlotte quickly pushed to be the company's top woman from the moment of her main roster debut, she also had many accomplishments that no other women in the industry had done before, as mentioned above. So far, she became a champion in every year and all her WrestleMania matches are also championship matches. Being the daughter of Ric Flair certainly helps.
  • This also became part of her gimmick during her feud with Becky Lynch and Ronda Rousey. Jealous of how she was no longer the top woman in the company anymore, Charlotte attempted to hog Becky Lynch's spotlight and claimed credit for all her accomplishments, including winning the 2019 Women's Royal Rumble. She was eventually added into Becky's match with Ronda at WrestleMania while Becky had to win two matches to do so.
  • After WrestleMania 36, Charlotte is the only wrestler to appear in all three brands despite being the NXT Women's Champion and the Wild Card rule being lifted half a year ago.
  • In 2021, Charlotte begins to call herself as "The Opportunity", acknowledging to the critics of the number of title matches she received, often without needing to win a number one contender match prior, and stealing opportunities from other women.
  • All of her WrestleMania matches have been championship matches, more than any other women in the company.
• Statuesque Stunner: Stands at 178 cm (5'10"). That's Michelle McCool territory.
• Strong Family Resemblance: On top of all the comparison with her father, she looks a lot like a female version of a young Ric himself— as well as sharing one mannerism in particular.
• Tag Team: Had one with Bayley. Ironically, one team they feuded with included one of the people Charlotte once betrayed then-tag partner Bayley to ally with. Charlotte and Bayley later teamed up again against Dana Brooke and Emma, as did Charlotte and Sasha.
• Tempting Fate: The manner in which she lost her Raw Women's Championship to Sasha Banks a few weeks before SummerSlam 2018. Near the end of the match, Charlotte growled at Sasha, "You will never beat me. Ever." Seconds later, after rushing at her, she would immediately be put in a Banks Statement and forced to tap.
• Tomboy and Girly Girl: The girly girl to Becky Lynch's tomboy. The two are "The Man" and "The Queen", respectively. While Charlotte is big, tall and muscular (though Becky has a decent, well toned muscular physique in her own right, she's not as big as Charlotte), Becky has the more tomboyish personality. Since her 2018 heel turn, Becky has been compared to Stone C Old Steve Austin, with a rough and edgy attitude (even before the heel turn, Becky once did a re-enactment of Stone Cold's famous 1996 King of the Ring speech along with fellow male superstars) and wears shirts, dark pants and jeans. Charlotte, especially when heel, has an Alpha Bitch type of personality and often wears attires which sparkle and shine, channeling much of her father's fine style. Even before her heel turn, Becky was always the "lass kicker" who just enjoyed fighting and wasn't bothered about looking glamorous in front of the camera.
• True Blue Femininity: Her official t-shirt is completely blue, though her ring gear can be any colour.
• Unrelated Brothers: A weird inversion with her half-brother David. During Ric's feud with Vince and David back in WCW, Charlotte was said to be her stepsister instead of half-sister.
• The Ugly Guy's Hot Daughter: Granted, in Ric's case it's mostly due to the deterioration of old age. He used to be a Mr. Fanservice with a legendary mane back in his days as NWA Champion.
• Ungrateful Bastard: Ric Flair had been helping her daughter in many of her matches for months but after Extreme Rules 2016, Charlotte disowned her father and even wished he was dead.
• Vapor Wear: On the August 8, 2017 edition of SmackDown, when Lana tried to counter Charlotte's move, she accidentally pulled Charlotte's tights and exposed her ass to the crowd. Cue fans chanting "Thank you, Lana!" and Charlotte giving a smile.
• Villainous Breakdown: Charlotte was in the final two of the 2019 Women's Royal Rumble match with Becky Lynch but when Becky insisted of continuing the match with a injured knee, Charlotte's previously smug face immediately soured as she believed that Becky would had been forfeited after Nia Jax attacked her turned into anger as to why Becky wouldn't stay down.
  • Had another one on the April 19, 2021 edition of Raw, after losing her match against Asuka because of Rhea Ripley's interference and beat the crap out of the referee, which led to her being suspended indefinitely.
• Villain Respect: Expressed this sentiment towards Liv Morgan and Io Shirai after her matches with them in 2020, saying both of them had impressed her.
• Waif-Fu: Inverted. She is normally the larger opponent, yet she uses this type of wrestling. What do you expect from a former gymnast?
• We Used to Be Friends: With Bayley, Sasha Banks, Paige and Becky Lynch. Given these cycles of betrayals and reprisals, it's harder to say if Charlotte is just a terrible friend or has terrible luck with friends, or both.
• Weapon Specialization: Prefers kendo sticks. Is she in a stipulation match where weapons are encouraged, or at least allowed? She'll go right for the stick and start swinging. Is an opponent proving too resilient for her liking? She'll go right for the stick and start swinging, not even caring if she gets disqualified.
• What the Hell, Hero?: This has been the almost universal reaction, in and out of the WWE, concerning Charlotte's dismissal and disowning of her father Ric Flair shortly after WrestleMania 32, to the point that even Stephanie McMahon, no less an Alpha Bitch and Daddy's Little Villain in her own family, and no more a stranger to disrespecting Ric Flair herself, epically chewed out Charlotte and called her a disgrace to the Women's Championship.
• Wild Card:
  • The resident tweener of the NXT women's division, at least since winning the title. She can easily feud with either heels or faces and can play either the heel or face in a particular situation without undergoing any real change in her character or personality.
  • By the end of 2018, she was back in this territory, albeit in a much stranger way. While she embraces and plays to the fans to a certain extent, she'll gladly pull out a kendo stick and start swinging at the first sign of trouble, even if it means throwing away the match.
• Wolverine Publicity: Charlotte tends to appear in almost every WWE PPV posters featuring multiple wrestlers even if she isn't in the PPV itself such as Money in the Bank 2020.
• Womanchild: Charlotte acts as if she's still an Alpha Bitch in school and is not afraid to use her father's name as the reason why she deserves more title opportunities than anyone. On one segment on SmackDown during the Road to WrestleMania 35, she mocks Becky in a childish fashion (akin to an Alpha Bitch making fun of another student) that gets on Triple H's nerves.
• Worthy Opponent:
  • Acknowledged Bayley as such after defending the title against her. When Bayley asked for another shot, Charlotte granted it and said, "Good luck, kid," with sincerity.
  • Tried to acknowledge former BFF Sasha Banks as this after Banks beat her to win the NXT Women's Championship. Somehow Sasha managed to both accept it and withhold her own respect from Charlotte. Finally cemented on a later episode of NXT, where the two went through a grueling title match (which Sasha won) and at the end embraced tearfully as friends—or as close as possible that women constantly going up against each other can get to being friends, anyway. Given that both have been promoted to the main roster (along with Becky), it's very possible that the match might have been their last against each other in an NXT Arena.
  • Despite visibly dreading the prospect of facing her when the challenge was initially made, Charlotte very quickly came to respect Asuka in the leadup to their match at WrestleMania 34, openly acknowledging Asuka's almost mythical reputation as an unstoppable force of nature and admitting that she had never faced a wrestler so ferocious in her life. When Charlotte actually did the impossible and beat the streak, she was quick to pin a crying, congratulatory Asuka in a tight hug. Near the end of the year however, after Charlotte's Face–Heel Turn, this respect was lost as Asuka considered Charlotte to have gotten lucky while Charlotte now looked down on Asuka.
• Wrestling Family: Daughter of Ric Flair, older sister of the late Reid Flair, younger half-sister of David Flair, and wife of Andrade El Ídolo. Her first husband was former TNA wrestler and NXT trainee Tom Latimer (a.k.a Bram). By extension of being a Flair, she's also part of the (entirely kayfabe) Anderson family.
• Yank the Dog's Chain: Though considering it is Charlotte, it should had been called Yank The Alpha Bitch's Chain, even if she was a face at the time.
  • After Defeating the Undefeatable by overcoming Asuka at WrestleMania 34 to retain her championship, the next night on SmackDown she gets jumped by the debuting pairing of Billie Kay and Peyton Royce, beaten down, and left semiconscious in the ring for Carmella to cash her Money In The Back briefcase on. Even with the ref dilly-dallying about getting the cash-in organised, she's barely able to make it to her feet before Carmella kicks her in the face and pins her to take away the belt she fought so hard to keep..
  • At SummerSlam 2018, Charlotte had recapture her SmackDown Women's Championship after a gruesome triple threat match against defending champion Carmella and her best friend Becky Lynch, whom she pinned. This victory comes at the cost of losing her best friend who later attacked her and the fans cheering for Becky instead of her.
