Wild Mass Guessing pages are Spoilers Off. You Have Been Warned.

Refrain from using first-person pronouns, please. This is a WMG page, not a forum.

    Pre-release WMGs
The final tier upgrade for Fighting will be a Stand
It'd make sense, since Stands are the Trope Codifier for Fighting Spirit.
  • Jossed. Fighting isn't even in the game to begin with.

There will be a Hate Sink member of the Beast Pack
Perhaps a toad or snake, which are stereotypical "evil animals".
  • Jossed, sort of. The mastermind behind the Beast Pack, Fecto Forgo, while being the least sympathetic Kirby villain to date, isn't exactly a Hate Sink and is more of a Viler New Villain.

This New place is Earth All Along.
  • Considering that Shiver Star is already Earth in the Kirby universe, this seems unlikely unless it's thawed since the last time Kirby visited.
    • That was never confirmed to be official, so this could still be possible.
      • While "Shiver Star=Earth" theory may not and probably never will be hard confirmed, it'd be one heck of a coincidence for there to be an alien planet with continents that are identical to Earth's own.
      • Shiver Star and this planet could both be Earth. The opening cutscene shows Kirby being sucked into an alternate dimension, meaning that both planets might be versions of Earth from two different dimensions.

This game confirms Kirby takes place After the End
  • A popular theory among the Kirby fandom is that the franchise takes place after most of humanity goes extinct (sans Adeline and a couple other humans) and the setting of this games sounds beat for beat what that theory was implying as the buildings look like they were once built by humans and are now slowly being taken over by nature.

This new world was taken over by Haltmann Works at one point
  • It would explain why it looks so advanced. The reason that it's covered in growth is because they abandoned it for whatever reason.

The Forgotten Land that Kirby explores in this game will have ties to the Ancients.
  • With all the Epileptic Trees floating around after Kirby Star Allies, and with this game serving as the "next phase" of the Kirby franchise, it's possible we might finally get a more story-driven Kirby game that tries to explain more of the overarching lore. What better place to do that than a civilization left behind by the Ancients?

The Forgotten Land could possibly be the metro city in the City Trial mode from Kirby Air Ride
  • It's most likely the only game in the series where it has an urban area as a playable level, and City Trial was quite the most memorable aspect in Kirby Air Ride. You also had the option to freely trespass the locations, (mainly without the timer) but you're unable to go inside any of the buildings. Except this time the city has inhabitants. The forestation is probably what happened when the city hasn't been inhabitated for who knows how long.

The Beast Corps will turn out to be Tragic Villains.

Certain copy abilities will be changed or adjusted to adapt to the 3-directional gameplay.
In previous games, certain attacks depended on specific directional inputs such as sword or fire. Certain attacks may be removed altogether. Alternatively, there may be a workaround with a possible crouch button for the downward attacks.
  • Confirmed. There's no crouch button and when you inhale an enemy that gives you ability is automatically swallowed. And now you automatically dash by tilting the control stick all the way in a direction. Certain abilities have been adjusted in button input because of this, such as how Ice's blizzard attack is done by repeatedly pushing the attack button now.

The Forgotten Land is an abandoned human colony.
The architecture in the Forgotten Land resembles human architecture, but Shiver Star is already implied to be Earth After the End. However, according to the official ''Kirby 64'' website, the inhabitants of Shiver Star left. So it's possible for the Forgotten Land to have been previously inhabited by humans without it being Earth.
  • Seemingly confirmed with the human voiceover in Lab Discovera.

King Dedede will get possessed again.
  • It would be shocking not to see Dedede in this game at all, and this is his most common role.
    • If Dedede's appearance in the third trailer is a result of possession rather than a case of Hijacked by Ganon, this could be Confirmed.
    • Confirmed, although he's not possessed. He's just brainwashed.

The leader of the Beast Corps is a lion.
  • Because King of Beasts.
    • Seems plausible, what with the cages that look like lions' jaws and all.
    • Seemingly Jossed as of the third trailer, which shows King Dedede of all people as the leader.
      • Though this may not actually be the case as speculated above.
      • Actually, it's now Confirmed. The leader of the Beast Pack is a lion named Leongar.

Returning Copy Abilities?
  • Tornado
    • Confirmed by the second trailer.
  • Water
    • Jossed.
  • Mirror
    • Jossed.
  • Magic
    • Jossed.
  • Jet
    • Jossed.
  • Smash
    • Jossed.
  • Animal
    • While not Jossed yet, the new Drill ability kinda seems to conflict with the idea of Animal coming back, since it allows you dig underground just like Animal, but at a much faster and more fluid rate.
    • Jossed.
  • Laser
    • Jossed.
  • Plasma
    • Jossed.
    • All except Tornado are Jossed.

You can go in the circus tents in the trailer, and the music will be a remix of "Reflected Laughter" from Kirby: Triple Deluxe.
  • Confirmed and Jossed. The circus tents are a part of the third level, Wondaria Remains, but there are very few remixes in the game and "Reflected Laughter" is not one of them.

The gorilla-like member of the Beast Corps has some connection to Goriath.
  • Both Goriath and the Beast Corps boss are imposing, physical fighters with distinctive hairstyles and a penchant for throwing things as attacks. They even look similar, with big, round bodies and long, muscular arms. It's possible that the new gorilla boss is the same (or similar) species as Goriath. It would definitely explain all of Goriath's random anime shout-outs if he came from what looks like the "abandoned Earth" from this game.

Dedede, the Animal Friends and the Squeaks are in some ways related to the Beast Corps or at least the Forgotten Land.
  • They're some of the very few characters in the series that resemble Earth animals, the Beast Corps resemble Earth animals as well, and the game's setting is Earth-like, even having very terrestrial fauna-inspired creatures. It's possible that they originated from or are connected to the Forgotten Land somehow, or even having connections with the Beast Corps.
    • In Kirby: Star Allies, the evil equivalent to dream friends and star allies as a whole are the three mage sisters, the generals of magic, supporting this idea.

The Beast Corps have a vendetta against Void
  • It's stated that the Beast Corps hold a mysterious grudge against Kirby. Since Void's true form looks awfully similar to Kirby, and this game may expand the franchise's lore, it's probable that the Beast Corps simply mistook Kirby for Void.
    • Jossed. Void never appears in the game and they're actually brainwashed by Forgo.

Who's the brainwashed/kidnapped friend going to be?
Because it's basically tradition at this point.
  • King Dedede. He's the most common victim of this.
    • Confirmed.
  • Susie: If the above theory that Haltmann Works had something to due with the current state of the planet is correct, the Beast Corps might be out for revenge and since Haltmann and Star Dream are both dead, they'll go after the last member of the company left.
    • Jossed. She doesn't even appear.
  • Bandanna Waddle Dee: The Beast Corps seems to be capturing Waddle Dees for some unknown purpose, so it would make sense that they would have the premiere Dee in their clutches. Plus, BWD is the only member of the main quartet who hasn't had an extra mode devoted to them.
    • BWD is confirmed to be playable in co-op, so this is highly unlikely.
      • Jossed.

Phan Phan/Rolling Turtle will show up as a mini-boss again.
  • The villains of this game are themed around animals, and Phan Phan and Rolling Turtle are an elephant and a turtle (respectively). Plus, the Throw ability might work pretty well in a 3D space.
    • Jossed. Throw didn't make it in.

The Forgotten Land is the last untouched place on the planet where uplifted animals are found
The Beast Pack are uplifted animals that seemingly thrive and emote like the rest of the Kirby cast, but they'll have a dark backstory where it's revealed that they were purposely created via genetic engineering, initially to create entertainment and companions to keep the Ancients collectively happy, before the Scientific faction used their research during the Void Wars. Elfilin is an inert Mouse-Butterfly hybrid, created to be a sleeper agent and detonate genetic destabilization when commanded by their handler (or creators).

Meta Knight is aware of this and (fake) defects to the Beast Pack, while still being his usual self, such as throwing a sword to Kirby before he fights him. He loses, but lets Kirby know where Elfilin is being held captive. The Beast Pack eventually moves Elfilin to their fortress where it's revealed that they have Genetic Memories implanted into their DNA, that same DNA gave them sapience and the general drive to wake their creator up from hibernation.

The creator will be out of his mind, and implies that his "Project Metamorpho-genesis has failed again", which alerts the Beast Pack & Kirby into taking him down, assuming modified-animal DNA propagated throughout Pop Star+the Universe, potentially causing a death toll in the billions. The game's backstory will indirectly reveal that several animal-based characters and species (Dedede, Mr Chilly, Bonkers, Daroach, and the Squeaks) are part of the same faction, but suffered from enough genetic drift to be free. However, the "Crazed Scientist in a new-race sentient species world" feels slightly too similar with the Splatoon universe, especially 2 with Commander Tartar. Kirby himself will not make the connection that Elfilin despite being a failed/inert weapon, that there's at least one or more flying about, which Fusion Dance with Galacta Knight. Considering Meta Knight seemingly-joins the Beast Pack without any inherent mind control or capturing (like the Waddle Dees), it says a lot about his species? or what his creator intended for him. Maybe being the base genetic template that they'd test super serum on.

  • As expected for being so specific, Jossed.

Humans will appear (or at least be referenced).
  • Considering the Beast Pack resemble Earth animals, humanity might at least get mentioned. It helps that humans are known to exist in the series (like Adeleine and a few characters in Dreamland 3). They could be treated like a precursor race that had inhabited the Forgotten Land, maybe even be the ones that uplifted the Beast Pack.

Adeleine will make a cameo.
  • Since the Forgotten Land has ruins that resemble human cities, and continuing on the "humans as precursors" theory above, Adeleine, one of the more notable humans in the franchise, could at least make a cameo.
  • Jossed.

Elfilin is related to Void in some way.
  • Sure, he might look adorable, but consider: his eyes have the same starry designs in them as Kirby's did on the Star Allies box art, if you look closely. On top of that, his ears make him look like a floating heart. Now remember that Void Termina was born from the Jamba Heart, and his final flavor text says that he might well reincarnate as a friend of Kirby's. While unlikely, Elfilin could very well BE that reincarnation. Even if he isn't, he is probably very important to the overarching lore due to his appearance.
    • Likely Jossed.

  • A new, adorable character from a mysterious land helps guide Kirby and friends on his adventures through said land? Where have we seen this before? Elfilin could be a Treacherous Quest Giver like Magolor, in which case the Beast Pack had a very good reason to lock him up.
    • Jossed. Sort of. Elfilin is not the true villain, but he is part of the final enemy.

Alternatively, if Elfilin has a villainous role, he won't be a Bitch in Sheep's Clothing, but rather a living variant of Sealed Evil in a Can.
  • He would be a genuine friend and ally to Kirby, but one unknowingly containing a great evil power that the true antagonist would attempt to use for their own purposes.
    • Confirmed. Elfilin is the escaped half of Fecto Elfilis, the Ultimate Lifeform. The Beast Pack "wishes" to recreate the Ultimate Lifeform so they can use their power of teleportation to escape the Forgotten Land just like the people have.

As part of a Meta Twist, Elfilin is actually a god as predicted by the players, but is actually a benevolent one.
  • So Elfilin is akin to Chip in that regard?
    • It's possible that he's more like Lumina Flowlight, by the fact that he and Fecto Forgo are positive and negative halves of an all-powerful God, just like Lumina and Void are to Illumina.

Bandana Dee will be the star of the game's alternate Story Mode like Meta Knight in Meta Knightmare and Dedede in Dededetour!
  • Jossed. Kirby is still the main protagonist of the Extra Mode (Isolated Isles: Forgo Dreams).

The Forgotten Land is on a planet that was once destroyed by Galacta Knight.
This could be a possible way for the game to tie back to the lore hints introduced in the "post-Return to Dreamland" era of games. Star Dream hinted at Galacta Knight's power levels being planet-destroying but perhaps instead of meaning complete obliteration of the planet itself it was more in the realm of "caused damage and death so devastating that all life on the planet was eradicated". As a result of the mass calamity the civilization we see remnants of throughout the game died out, but left behind enough lesser life forms which eventually evolved and inhabit the now-reclaimed ruins once the planet's ecosystem stabilized.

This concept might also give another dimension to the Beast Pack's antagonism of Kirby — perhaps they are aware of some round pink warrior from another world which was able to destroy their precursors and so view Kirby with extra caution in case he becomes another apocalypse-bringer.

After a long series of adorable critters actually turning out to be traitorous, Elfilin will actually turn out to be genuinely good just to break tradition
  • Confirmed. Elfilin is the good half of Fecto Elfilis.
    • It's not even a long series, it only happened twice unless you count Susie betraying Haltmann.
      • It happened since Kirby Super Star, all the way back in 1996.
      • That doesn't make it a long series. There's time, and then there's times.

Some of the Dream Friends will appear in Waddle Dee Town
Waddle Dee Town kind of reminds one of the town in Super Kirby Clash, so it's possible other characters will appear like how they did in that game.

The leader of the Beast Pack may actually not be King Dedede himself, but rather an alternate dimensional counterpart or some kind of distant blood relative with a differing personality that contrasts Dedede's.
DDD is seen as a Jerk with a Heart of Gold and Authority in Name Only, who only became antagonistic towards Kirby because of the admiration he was getting, but eventually grew out of it while being sort of a Friendly Rival to Kirby, and has teamed up with him numerous times against bigger threats, while the "Dedede" that was shown in the Mouthful Mode trailer is possibly callous, vain, an actual competent monarch that abusively gives orders to the Beast Pack to dispose of anyone who'll oppose their power but will get his own hands dirty to do any form of malevolent intentions, and doesn't seem to be all-around pleasant given his tattered Obviously Evil looking appearance.
  • Jossed. The leader is a giant lion named Leongar. A phantom version of Dedede does appear in the game, though.

Sillydillo has a Dark and Troubled Past.
His stereotypically "insane" appearance and behaviour in the third trailer is very reminiscent of Hyness from Kirby Star Allies. Since he isn't the Big Bad and his name is literally Sillydillo, it makes sense for him to be a Sad Clown with a tragic backstory that explains why he has seemingly gone insane.

Clawroline will pull a High-Heel–Face Turn.
It's not likely, since her title is the Lethal Leopard, but we can hold out hope because Beauty Equals Goodness.
  • She will probably turn only if the rest of the Pack turns, which does seem more plausible.
  • Confirmed. It turns out Leongar is being puppeted by Fecto Forgo. After the main game, Clawroline wants Kirby's help in saving his soul, literally.

The leader of the Beast Pack isn't King Dedede, but King Egger from Adventures of Lolo.
King Egger has bright blue skin and a Cool Crown just like Dedede, and Dedede's new, more "animalistic" design in this game would make more sense if he were actually an impostor. Besides, what better way to celebrate Kirby's 30th anniversary than acknowledging Lololo and Lalala, who have been with the franchise for 30 years, and even predate the Kirby series, than with an Eggerland reference?
  • Jossed.

During the final boss, Kirby will use his Mouthful Mode on something huge.
Ever since Return to Dreamland, there has been a running theme where the final boss is fought by using the game's main gimmick taken to its logical extreme, so it seems like a given that Mouthful Mode will get the same treatment.
  • Possible candidates range between a war plane, a battleship (In the situation where the final battle takes place in the water), a Humongous Mecha, or even the city itself.
    • Turns out that he absorbs a big truck (called Big-Rig Mouth) in order to chase down Fecto Elfilis as they use Planet Popstar to collide with the Forgotten Land.

One of Sleep's upgrades will give it its Kirby Battle Royale moveset.
It showed up in the Weapons Shop; it just seems like the right thing to do.
  • Jossed. As awesome as that would be, Sleep's only upgrade is Deep Sleep, which fully heals Kirby and gives him a random buff.

Elfilin will be kidnapped by the Beast Pack during the desert world.
Near the end of the second trailer, a doll made to resemble Elfilin is seen trapped in a cage in an area that resembles Sillydillo's arena from the footage and screenshots we have seen. Furthermore, we know that Sillydillo has a talent for making dolls from junk, so the resemblance is likely not a coincidence. Since Sillydillo is most likely the boss of the desert world by process of elimination, it seems likely that an event during that world will result in Elfilin being abducted, possibly related to the scene of him being buried in blue goo from the third trailer.
  • Jossed. He gets kidnapped by King Dedede in the snow world.
    • Credit where it's due, though. This is immediately before the desert world.

One of the companies mentioned in the "Lightron Works Sign" figurine description is/was the Haltmann Works Company.
The description reveals that the Lightron Works Company was once a powerful group with expertise in many fields until it split up, leading to the rise of many competitors and corporate battles. Furthermore in Robobot, Susie mentions her plan to steal Star Dream and sell it to a competitor, which fits the description and indicates that there are still active similar companies out there even after the HWC's literal collapse.

Elfilin is a beast version of the Butterfly/Morpho Knight
The intro to the game shows the butterfly seen in many games being sucked into the portal which also sucks in Kirby, Bandana Waddle Dee, and (presumably) King Dedede. While Kirby appears to gain the ability to do Mouthful Mode from entering the portal and Dedede gains his new, beastly appearance, it's possible the same applied to the butterfly and it was transformed into Elfilin.

Each Boss of the Beast Pack are a species of animal found in different continents
From the trailers we already have an armadillo (North America), a jaguar (South America), a gorilla (Africa), and either King Dedede who made be brainwashed again or a lookalike who's a penguin (Antarctica). That just leaves Europe, Asia, and Australia/Oceania as the last three to fill up the boss ranks.

Dedede and Meta Knight can be unlocked as co-op partners later in the game
Dedede will need to be unlocked by defeating and un-brainwashing him during the story, while Meta Knight will need to be unlocked by clearing the Colosseum.
  • Both Jossed, although Meta Knight Sword is an available Sword evolution obtained by completing the Meta Knight Cup.

King Dedede will turn out to be Not Brainwashed.
His reasons for siding with the Beast Pack would be either to thwart the plan of the true antagonist from the inside, or because he knows something about Elfilin that Kirby does not.

Escargoon will appear to some degree
Escargoon could make another cameo, or possibly show up as the Beast Pack's Non-Action Guy or Butt-Monkey.
  • Jossed.

Elfilin will be the Final Boss, but...
Instead of being Evil All Along like Marx and Magolor before him, he will be Brainwashed and Crazy.
  • Confirmed. Elfilin isn't actually fought against, but he does Fusion Dance with the Big Bad against his will, which is the final boss of the main story.

The colosseum will have more boss fights with 'Dream Friends' than just Meta Knight.
The series is known for its numerous Legacy Boss Battles, but instead of these battles being part of the main story, they will be optional fights in the colosseum, just for fun.
  • Potential candidates:
    • Rick, Kine and Coo (never antagonistic like with the below candidates, but would tie in with the game's central motif of animals)
    • Marx
    • Adeleine
    • Daroach
    • Magolor
    • Taranza
    • Susie
    • The Three Mage-Sisters
  • All Jossed. Not a single one of them beyond Meta Knight appear.

The Superboss at the end of the extra mode will be related to the four ancient heroes mentioned in Kirby Star Allies.
Super Kirby Clash has implied that Galacta Knight, titled Aeon Hero in the game, was one of four heroes who sealed away Void Termina with the heart spears. It is possible that the identities of the other three heroes will be a recurring plot point in future games, and Forgotten Land will deliver on it by revealing at least one of these heroes at the end of its extra mode.
  • Jossed. The Superboss is once again a soul version of the final boss, even though they don't have "Soul" in their name.

The reason why the extra mode is being guessed specifically is that the more recent mainline games have featured extra mode battles against a 'Knight'; Dark Meta Knight, then Galacta Knight, then Morpho Knight. And through Super Kirby Clash, it is now assumed that one of these extra mode Knights was actually an ancient hero.

  • Jossed. Morpho Knight is indeed the final boss of extra mode.
    • We don't know whether or not Morpho Knight was one of the ancient heroes, but given that it's implied to be the Kirby-verse version of The Grim Reaper, it probably wasn't.

Clawroline will go through an Eldritch Transformation
It's pretty odd for Kirby of all franchises to make a fanservice character, so they'll probably do something in line with her, and considering Kirby's track record, it seems "eldritch being" is the best choice.
  • Jossed. Although, Leongar, who shares Clawroline's retractable nails, does make up Fecto Forgo's Body Horror Blob Monster form.

Adeleine will be a boss.
Given that the Forgotten Land contains ruins that look like human civilizations (Like Shiver Star), it would be interesting if it turns out Adeleine was captured and controlled by the Beast Pack, as well as a reveal that she has ties to the Forgotten Land, maybe even originating there.
  • Her appearance as a Beast Pack boss could have her look like a prehistoric cavegirl, as it would make sense for the "wild" form of a modern human to be a feral caveperson, plus it would tie into her being an artist by having her make cave paintings that come to life.
  • Jossed.

The Kirby anime will be referenced.
Given the main foe for this game is intelligent animals, it's possible there may be an enemy referencing Escargoon from the show. It would not be the first time he cameos in a Kirby game (albeit the first time was in a minigame.)

Elfilin will go through some sort of transformation.
  • Confirmed. The final boss of the main story is Elfilin fused with Fecto Forgo.

The final boss or at least one of the bosses will be some sort of chimera.
  • Confirmed. Fecto Forgo's first boss form is an amalgamation of Beast Pack members.

    Post-release WMGs
Leongar and Clawroline are married.
Given that Leongar and Clawroline are both referred to as leaders and ruled together, there is a strong possibility that they are husband and wife prior to the events of the game.
  • Confirmed. Clawroline is Leongar's queen.
    • Where exactly does it specify that? The figurines vaguely hint that Leongar and Clawroline are actually married, and are referred to as both leaders. There seems to be no definitive evidence that they are king and queen, unless Word of God says so.
      • In all languages, Leongar's title is "King of the Beasts", "Beast King", or something similar. Since Leon and Carol ruled over the animals together, it wouldn't make sense if she were anything other than the "Queen of the Beasts".

There will be future updates bringing new gameplay.
Given how the previous Kirby game included not only new playable characters, but an entirely new Ex Mode in an update, there's some possibility HAL Labs may do the same for this game.

Sillydillo is incredibly lonely
Dude is clearly desperate to feel the touch of a woman if it's making multiple female armadillos out of junk. If a previous WMG is to be believed, it might even be jealous of Leongar and Clawroline.

The humans left and went to Kirby's universe.
It's a stretch but it's possible the humans from the Forgotten Land moved to Shiver Star.
  • Leongar even mentions that the previous population (who are highly implied to be humans) went to a "land of dreams".

During the Final Boss, the rest of the Star Allies all watched it from Pop Star
Because Kirby fighting another giant Eldritch Abomination is nothing out of the norm for him, and most of his friends should know that by now. It wouldn't be surprising if they all had popcorn as well.

If Star Allies somehow gets updated to have a Dream Friend from this game, it would be either Elfilin or Clawroline
  • Elfilin's size and actual power could make them a good candidate. They could sport Fecto Elfilis' attacks, especially after Elfilin absorbed Chaos Elfilis into himself at the end of The Ultimate Cup Z, albeit good/cutesy versions of them (such as replacing the dimensional portal meteors with huge stars), essentially making them a playable Fecto Elfilis in 2D.
  • Clawroline would be the other likely candidate as her moveset and size makes her suitable for being a Dream Friend. She'd have both claw attacks and throwing knives as part of her arsenal.

There will be additional forms of Copy Abilities based on the Dream Friends from past games.

The Waddle Dee-liveries system will likely be used to deliver these blueprints, and give the current abilities a fun new flair to play around with. They will also come with their own Treasure Road Challenges. Here are some ideas for such abilities:

  • Shadow Drill (Marx) - Kirby can dive in to Shadowy Holes in the ground, and quickly uppercut an enemy from below. The Eruption causes thorny vines to shoot up from underground.
  • Sticky Needle (Taranza) - Web-like needles surround Kirby, giving him greater speed and traction while moving on the ground. Enemies caught in the web will shoot out web slings, catching other nearby enemies and objects in the web needles.
  • Squeak Ice (Daroach): The Ice Attack is now a chargeable beam that can freeze enemies from a longer-distance. The Ice Storm is replaced by a series of Icy Claw Swipes.
  • Drone Bomb (Susie): The Bombs are now homing drones that can slowly fly through the air and home in on enemies. The dash attack causes the drones to jet forward quickly.
  • Ribbon Ranger (Adeleine & Ribbon): Kirby now wields Ribbon's Crystal Blaster, and can pierce enemies with the power of the Crystal Shards. On full charge up, there's a powerful blast of paint as well.
  • General Fire (Flamberge): Fire dash will now summon Flamberge's sword, causing the dash to also create massive walls of fire.
  • Crowned Crash (Magolor)
  • Slimy Sleep (Gooey)

Kirby wasn't the only person to get a power from the vortex
  • Notice that Bandana Waddle Dee's spear also get upgraded when Kirby's copy abilities evolve, Meta Knight can now Flash Step and Masked Dedede can make fire tornados note ? Well, Kirby's mouthful mode was given to him when he fell into the vortex in the beginning of the game, so it's a logical step to say they also got these powers from falling through the vortex.

Elfilin was created from Fecto Elfilis observing the New World's previous inhabitants and having their good traits rub off onto it
During its captivity, Fecto Elfilis likely observed and wandered into the minds of the New World's previous inhabitants. This allowed it to start understanding things like kindness, empathy, and compassion. Fecto Elfilis' inherent nature as an assimilator and devourer couldn't stand for this, splitting off that now-compassionate side of itself along with much of its power, thus causing the accident mentioned by Lab Discovera. Tellingly, when Fecto Forgo assimilates Elfilin and turns into Fecto Elfilis, it has none of Elfilin's compassion and empathy, meaning that Fecto Elfilis was always malevolent and Elfilin was created when kindness and compassion rubbed off onto it.
  • Likely Jossed. In the Japanese version, Elfilin is described as "tiny, benevolent heart" that Fecto Elfilis had left behind in the past to fulfill its "ambitions of invasion", so he was always there. The split is what caused the Warp Experiment Incident, but it's never mentioned what exactly caused the split other than Elfilin "separating" from Elfilis. Maybe the experimentation gave him a mind of his own?

Elfilin will use his powers to actively help Kirby in a later game.
Specifically, the remaining particle of Chaos Elfilis he absorbed will give him new abilities that will provide a new gameplay gimmick.

The people who left the Forgotten Land became the Ancients of Kirby's lore.
We learn in Lab Discovera how the former civilization used the warp technology developed from studying Fecto Forgo to achieve interstellar travel, and Leongar says that they departed for a 'world of dreams', more or less hinting that they went to Kirby's universe/dimension. But to take it even further, what if they used their wealth of knowledge and technology to do even more and effectively went on to make even grander technological marvels mixed with magic they might have encountered once they crossed over? Two of the Ancients' most famous creations, the Lor Starcutter and the Galactic Novas, are capable of interstellar and interdimensional travel via portals/rifts which could easily have been derived from their existing technology that brought them to the Kirby universe in the first place.

Another interesting implication of this is that it can give a lot more context as to why Hyness' clan were exiled by the other Ancients over Void Termina and the Jamba Heart: Hyness' group did exactly as their predecessors did when they managed to defeat and subdue a terrifically powerful entity of unknown origin and cataclysmic power before seeking to study/worship it in hopes of gaining more knowledge or power. It's possible that some of the other Ancients who were originally from the Forgotten Land (or their descendants) remembered what originally caused them to leave their old home behind. Sure, they left willingly without suffering many losses, but seeing someone else repeating history might have made them fear that this time would not go so well and would result in another disaster that would force them to leave their new home again.
  • Highly unlikely, given that the Lor Starcutter is explicitly Halcandran technology.
    • Not necessarily; Halcandra could just be one of their colonies after they spread out in Kirby's dimension. One thing heavily hinting at the Ancients being from the Forgotten Land is that the chamber that holds Fecto Forgo greatly resembles the chamber containing the Heart of Nova, with the Novas being one of the Ancients' more well-known creations. The star-shaped portals made by the Lor Starcutter and especially Star Dream (when summoning galacta Knight) resemble the star-shaped portals of Fecto Forgo/Elfilis as well.
  • Confirmed as long as HAL isn't making an Eggerland reference. In Japanese, the mascots of Wondaria Remains are named Wondax and Wondery Eggers, which draws comparisons to the first area of Halcandra (Egger Engines in Japanese). Furthermore, Fecto Elfilis's "spatial transfer ability" is worded very similarly to Star Dream's "space-time transfer program", used to summon Galacta Knight through the Another Dimension Road. So, Elfilis —> Star Dream/Nova —> Ancients —> Halcandra —> Wondaria.

Adeleine is from the New World.

It is implied that humans were the original inhabitants of the New World, and Adeleine is one of the only humans in the series.

  • Probably jossed, while the 30th anniversary concert does confirm that the people of the new world are humans, Adeleine is at most a young teenager and it’s implied that the Fecto Forgo incident happened a long time ago (Plus the 30 years when it was studied) so she’s most likely a descendant of the new world’s inhabitants rather than being one.

Fecto Elfilis has some kind of connection with the Black Arms.
Both are hostile alien invaders with a drive for consumption and some kind of involvement with an Ultimate Life Form (Fecto Elfilis being labeled as one in itself, while Black Doom was the creator of Shadow). Fecto Elfilis' more incomplete, watery forms (larval-like domant form, Fecto Forgo, and Fecto Elfilis after Kirby extracts Elfilin) also somewhat call to mind the Artificial Chaos enemies on the Space Colony ARK in Sonic Adventure 2, so it seems like there's room for some connections between the two.

The New World runs on a Year Inside, Hour Outside basis to Dreamland.
It's rather weird that Elfilin recovered so fast from his Disney Death at the end of the story. While he did say that Clawroline helped nurse him back to health, for Kirby it was only a few seconds from Elflilin sacrificing himself to him suddenly returning. It's possible that the New World tends to run on this logic.
  • This also could explain how Kirby arrived far later than the Waddle Dees, King Dedede, and Meta Knight despite likely being caught up in the same wormhole-opening event. Kirby tried to hold his ground a bit before being sucked in.
  • Confirmed in a Nintendo Dream interview, which says Dedede spent months in the New World even though the vortex presumably got him only a few minutes before Kirby and friends.

Dedede, the Animal Friends, and Daroach are from the New World and used to be part of the Beast Pack.
At some point in the past, they managed to escape Fecto Forgo's control and somehow ended up in Dream Land. Think about it. They are some of the few characters in the series, other than the Beast Pack themselves, that are clearly Earth animals.

The game will be getting DLC
After you beat Meta Knight in the Coliseum, he will stand outside on one of several pedestals. Now it could simply be a design choice, but if that were the case, he would be standing in the middle and not off to the side. More boss fights coming or a side mode?
  • Why wouldn't he stand off to the side? It makes him more visible from different angles, and he's directly above where his respective Present Code is.

The game's DLC campaign will take place in the Mirror World
The new DLC titled Return of the Dimensional Mirror has Kirby and Elfilin investigate the Dimensional Mirror, creating a new world with 8 levels:
  • Doom Desert BOSS: Parallel Tropic Woods
  • Arid Cityscape BOSS: Parallel Susie
  • Rotted Ruins BOSS: Shadow Dedede
  • Knotted Castle BOSS: Queen Sectonia DX
  • Melancholy Mountain BOSS: Parallel Kracko
  • Isolating Palace BOSS: King D-Mind
  • Negative Catacombs BOSS: Dark Meta Knight
  • Darkness Dais BOSS: Soul Reflecto —> Reflecto Forgo —> Reflecto Nucleus —> Reflecto Mind

  • MINIBOSS: Box Boxer (Fighter), Batafire (Fire), Bombar (Jet), Gobbler (Water) and Master Hand/Crazy Hand (Smash)
  • ULTIMATE CUP EX BOSSES: Morpho Knight EX
    • We don't know that all of these bosses are connected to Kirby's Mirror World. In particular, King D-Mind seems kind of redundant with the existence of Shadow Dedede. Given the portals that the parallel bosses come from in Team Kirby Clash, it seems that several of them (almost all of the ones with "Parallel" in the name in particular) are from Another Dimension. Of the previously-existing bosses listed, only Dark Meta Knight and Shadow Dedede are actually confirmed to be from the Mirror World, while Parallel Kracko is explicitly from Another Dimension (regular Kracko appears in the Mirror world).

Several bosses will appear for DLC as part of the Coliseum
After clearing the Ultimate Cup Z, it's time for an even harder challenge, one that few will escape unscathed! In the Ultimate Cup EX, you cannot retry if you lose to a boss, all tomatoes will be replaced with cherries and there are several tough fights for you to defeat:

DLC Abilities
Much like most of the base game's abilities, the DLC abilities will be similar to other mid-bosses and major characters in the game.
  • Spear, which would allow Kirby to take on Bandana Dee's moveset. The DLC will add the Lanzer enemy to provide it, and its evolutions will be Trident Spear, which mainly increases range, and Elfilis Spear, which further increases range and changes the Spear Throw attack into Fecto Elfilis's energy spear attack.
  • ESP. The NESP enemy and Telepathos mid-boss will be added to provide it, and its evolutions will be Pathos ESP based on Telepathos, and Forgo ESP, which changes PK Electroshift into a dimensional rift that sucks in enemies a la Magolor in Star Allies.
  • Animal. The Gaw Gaw enemy will be added to provide it, and its evolutions will be Carol Animal, based on Clawroline, and Leon Animal, based on Leongar.

The Ancients of the New World left their planet because they ruined it, and they later did the same to Shiver Star and Halcandra
The game makes it clear that it has been a very long time since the people of the New World left their planet, enough time for the animals to evolve sentience even. Given how Shiver Star is so similar to the New World, and Halcandra also has an HR series robot on it, it's very possible that Shiver Star was another of their settlements, while Halcandra was a settlement after that. Unfortunately, all three of these settlements ran out of resources for the Ancients, and all three of them follow a progression. The New World has progressed far into recovery, though Winter Horns, Originull Wasteland, and Redgar Forbidden Lands still have yet to recover. Shiver Star is in the early stages of recovery due to its seeming ice age. Halcandra, their most recent known settlement, has not recovered at all yet, seeing as Egg Engines is still in complete ruin with no nature in sight.

  • Possibly confirmed. The Japanese figure description for Fecto Forgo's Larva form says their planet had "become too small", implying some kind of overpopulation crisis.

The Ancients are not just a motivation for much of the Beast Pack, but a religion.
Awoofies can be found throughout the New World doing the things that the original inhabitants would, such as standing in line for a ride that they don't actually set in motion, or eating in a crumbling food court, because they've seen the Ancients doing that, possibly in photographs or movies by this point. Why? Possibly because they think that's how it's supposed to work to maintain the cosmic order, not unlike "There Will Come Soft Rains". Or perhaps some of them believe it will bring the Ancients back.

DLC will add both Meta Knightmare 3D and Dededetour 3D modes
Both will be available only after completing the story, and both will essentially function like their counterpart modes in Triple Deluxe and Planet Robobot, where the focus is on completing the mode as fast as possible while searching for dimensional portals to skip levels. Dedede will function like the Hammer ability as usual, while Meta Knight will function like Meta Knight Sword, but both will gain Special Moves that can be used after gaining points for defeating enemies; these will be mapped to the D-Pad instead of a touchscreen.

"Welcome to the New World!" isn't about this new world.
Instead it was an anthem created to encourage the former civilization to pack up and move to whatever other new place they found with the warp technology. Because everyone left, it just happens to be the last song playing on the radio.
  • Which implies that it's been playing on a loop for all these years, making it slightly less cheerful and more creepy.
  • Confirmed. It's remixed for the Dream Discoveries Tour music in Lab Discovera, which either means Lab Discovera had it commissioned or they bought the rights to it.

Forgotten Land confirms that the Galaxia and Meta Knight’s sword in Kirby & the Amazing Mirror aren’t the same weapon.
If Kirby gets the chance to absorb the Galaxia during Meta Knight’s fight, he doesn’t gain the Master ability, instead getting Meta Knight Sword. This means to imply that Meta Knight swapped out his old blade for the one he uses now, likely cause it’s still in the Mirror World.

The Waddle Dees powering Lab Discovera were returned to Plant Popstar after Kirby took down Elfilis.
After Kirby and Elfilin run down Elfilis with a truck, they both, along with Bandana Dee are back in Popstar until the portals get fixed. During that period, Elfilis’s portal shenanigans pulled the Waddle Dees out and they returned home. The 300 Waddle Dees that are to be saved throughout the game chose to remain in the New World in Waddle Dee Town, though thanks to Elfilin’s portals they can freely go back and forth to see family and whatnot.

Fecto Elfilis is connected to Void, or at least able to recognize incarnations of Void and determine whether they're good or bad.
Yes, this is based on Insane Troll Logic stemming from the fact Elfilin is an anagram of "Nil Life", with "Nil" being Void's Japanese name and Kirby being implied to be an incarnation of Void.

Morpho Knight fought Kirby because it wanted to make off with Leon's Soul
Morpho Knight is heavily implied to be the Kirby universe's equivalent of The Grim Reaper or a Psychopomp, arriving to absorb the spirits of the deceased and take them to the afterlife. However, it should be noted that this, by itself, gives it little reason to oppose Kirby and friends; indeed, all of its targets seen so far are valid targets because of Kirby's actions, so it would make more sense for Morpho Knight to be one of Kirby's allies (and the butterfly that happens to be Morpho Knight in Sleep-Mode Size seems to be friendly enough with Kirby when "off the clock", going by its appearances in introductory and ending cutscenes). Thus, it stands to reason that in both of its appearances, it showed up to claim the souls of two entities, and fought Kirby and/or his friends because they happened to be in its way (and maybe also because it likes picking fights for some reason…)

In Star Allies, Morpho Knight introduces itself by interrupting the fight with Galacta Knight before it even begins. Galacta Knight has been implied in Japanese sources to have a bit of a Nothing Left to Do but Die stance, only living for battle with powerful opponents — and in prior appearances, it's gotten its arse handed to it by Meta Knight and/or Kirby every single time (with Meta Knight thrashing it so hard in Super Star Ultra that its wings were torn off and it exploded). Thus, Morpho Knight most likely considered GK to be living-impaired. The other person Morpho Knight was there to collect was Hyness, who had sacrificed himself to the Jamba Heart to resurrect Void Termina in the main story, and after being freed by Kirby, starts trying to open up a portal to Another Dimension (leading in to the Heroes in Another Dimension extra mode). Morpho Knight (or, rather, its butterfly avatar), however, is just doing its job, and is either ignorant to or doesn't care much for these trifling details; it simply sees Hyness as having cheated death. Thus, it comes for him and, finding him unconscious or missing at the Divine Terminus, absorbs Galacta Knight (who conveniently happens to be right there), assumes its Morpho Knight form, and decides to fight the Star Allies for… some reason. Maybe it thinks that they would try to interfere — a reasoning that is more clear the next time it shows up…

In Forgotten Land, Morpho Knight is after Fecto Forgo and Leongar/Leon, both of whom it sees as "living-impaired" for various reasons — Fecto Forgo because Kirby obliterated its body in a no-holds-barred battle, leaving it as just a soul, and Leon because Fecto Forgo smashed his soul into 300 pieces. The problem is that Fecto Forgo is hiding in Leon's body, thus making it hard for Morpho Knight to get at, and Leon's soul is, well, broken into pieces. However, Morpho Knight, while floating around Forgo Dreams and trying to figure out how to resolve this dilemma, notices Kirby and Elfilin breaching the realm and collecting Leon's soul fragments. Thus, Morpho Knight decides to simply let Kirby do the work of unifying Leon's soul and exposing Fecto Forgo's spirit so that it can swoop in and whisk them off to the afterlife afterwards, following behind Kirby as he battles through the Isolated Isles — a scheme that goes precisely as planned after Kirby revives Leon with the pieces of his soul, only to be forced to fight him when Fecto Forgo's spirit takes over, and thrash poor Forgo Leon so hard that he's Blown Across the Room (and, as the post-boss cutscene makes clear, would have actually killed him if the Beast Pack wasn't able to regather his soul pieces and revive him once again). Once Forgo Leon is felled, Forgo Soul prepares to fight Kirby itself, and this is when Morpho Knight makes its move, swooping in to absorb Forgo Soul so it can carry the alien bastard to hell. However, it is also there for Leon, and given how hard Kirby has been fighting to save the soul of a guy who tried to "feast on his hide" the last time they met, Morpho Knight correctly deduces that Kirby won't take Leon being dragged to the afterlife lying down, and feels that it has no choice but to duel Kirby to decide Leon's ultimate fate.

Dedede was Fighting from the Inside and finding ways to stall Elfilin from being reunited with Fecto Forgo.
Given how much of a headstart Dedede had, plus Kirby is busy rescuing Waddle Dees and being the Kid Hero he is, getting Sidetracked By The Golden Saucer, here could have been many chances for Elfilin to have been merged with Fecto Forgo, yet it doesn’t happen until Kirby finally makes it. And considering how Forgo Dedede’s introduction shows him in pain and struggling against his mask. And when the mask breaks, he’s clearly back normal. It is possible Dedede somewhat resisted his mind control and knowing how much Kirby cares about Elfilin, tried to buy as much time as possible. Eventually Leongar and Fecto Forgo were fed up with his resistance and put the mask on Dedede to form Forgo Dedede and enforce tighter mind control.

The New World wasn’t abandoned that long ago.
Most scientists agree that modern infrastructure, which seems to be the basis for the New World’s infrastructure, would have been destroyed, or at least weathered past recognition, after only about 50,000 years without maintenance. The fact that not only are the buildings still standing, but a lot of machinery is still fully functional, even in harsh environments like tropical sea shores, deserts, and inside a volcano, implies that the planet has only been abandoned for a few decades at most.

Kirby will return to the New World in a future game
Because it seems strange to introduce an entirely new setting with intriguing lore and new characters with intricate backstories in a game that’s intended to start a new era for the franchise, only to leave them behind and forgotten (heh) for the rest of the series. Heck, Bandana Dee even says that there’s a stable connection between worlds now, so there’s absolutely no reason they couldn’t come back. Or you could even have it the opposite way round, with some of the Beast Pack visiting Popstar.

The New World is the original home of the Waddle Dees
Kirby is canonically eight inches tall, which means all the Waddle Dees are the same height, yet all the machinery is the right size for all of them. They are the ones who left and eventually found Popstar, which they nicknamed Dreamland.
  • Likely Jossed. Fecto Forgo makes no mention of this, only vaguely calling them its "servants"/"workforce". It could mean the original inhabitants of the New World were close in size to the Waddle Dees, though.

The original inhabitants of the New World left accidentally
They were messing around with Fecto Forgo's powers and accidentally opened those star portals that brought Kirby, and flung themselves somewhere else.
  • Jossed. The Japanese version implies they left the New World behind due to some kind of overpopulation problem.

A future 3D Kirby game will bring back the Dark Matter or at least a new group based off them.
Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards was the first game to bring them into a 3D setting and the last two games have had a True Final Boss that references Zero in terms of colour palette and other references in addition to the scattered references to Dark Matter throughout the Kumazaki era. Additionally Kirby Star Allies and Kirby and the Forgotten Land has been experimenting with the Copy abilities so it could possible that this future Kirby game might boast a refined version of the Power Comboes from Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards. With all this mind among other lore details, it seems like this could build up into a new Kirby game where the Dark Matter return, having returned to take revenge on the universe.

The worlds could be something like this:

  • World 1: Midnight Hill
    • Midboss: Dark Gigant Edge, Dark Kibble Blade and Dark Matter Blade.
    • Boss: Mr Darkshine & Mr Darkbright
  • World 2: Ash Valley
    • Midboss: Dark Fire Lion, Dark Flame Galboros and Dark Matter Axe.
    • Boss: Dark Pyribbit
  • World 3: Treacle Swamp
    • Midboss:Dark Hornhead, Dark Bugzzy and Dark Matter Lance.
    • Boss: Dark Woods
  • World 4: Thunder Temple
    • Midboss: Dark King Doo, Dark Dubior and Dark Matter Ray.
    • Boss: Dark Kracko
  • World 5:Ebony Tundra
    • Midboss: Dark Mr Frosty, Dark Ice Dragon and Dark Matter Hammer.
    • Boss: Dark Sweet Stuff
  • World 6: Rutile Battlefield
    • Midboss: Dark Matter Blade, Dark Matter Axe, Dark Matter Lance and Dark Matter Hammer.
    • Boss: Miracle Matter
  • Final Level: Vantablack Void

EX Mode is replaced with Level EX: Chaotic Vortex where each level is a Remixed Level based off the previous 6 worlds. All midbosses and bosses have the Parallel prefix as part of their names while all Dark Matter midbosses, Miracle Matter and Dark Matter have the EX suffix instead.

  • Final Level: Decisive Battlefield
    • Final Boss: Dark Matter EX —> Galacta Knight —> Chaos Galacta Knightnote
    • True Arena Final Boss: Zero Three EX —> Heart of Zero EX —> Zero Soul
