Pantheon / GUAG Marvel Initiative

Go To

Named after the 50-State Initiative that was planned to place a team of superheroes in every US State, this battalion is something similar, but on a multiversal scale. Iron Man serves as the branch's field leader, and Nick Fury serves as a military advisor and the branch's link to SHIELD.

Additionally, Stan Lee and Jack Kirby have unofficial command status as creators of the Marvel Universe.

Field Leader

In addition to once being Director of SHIELD, Tony Stark now leads this sub-division post-Civil War, answering only to the Big Man himself, Captain America.

    Iron Man
Tony Stark/Iron Man, God of Personalized Mechanical Suits (Iron Man, Tony, The Mechanic, Howard Potts)
  • Intermediate God
  • Hero Class: A
  • Symbol: His armor, of course. Also the logo of Stark Industries.
  • Alignment: Lawful Neutral (Sometimes Neutral Good, sometimes Lawful Evil)
  • Reason for Joining: To repent for the evils he committed during the Civil War and to continue his redemption for being an arms dealer.
  • Loyalty to Cosmos: Cosmos accepts his apology and helps him reclaim his enterprises, so he swore loyalty and agreed to stop being a pawn of the government.
  • Threat Level to Melkor: Moderate. An impressive fighter, but there's only one of him and he won't share his technology.
  • He's the division's liaison to the GUAG Robot War Division.

The Security Council

These Marvel heroes are among the most highly esteemed members of the Pantheon's Marvel community. They are the most senior in standing among them and serve as chiefs of staff of the Initiative. Many consider this to be a new version of the Marvel Illuminati. Iron Man and Director Fury serve as the lead members of this council.

    Black Panther
T'Challa, Patron God of Exiled Governments (Black Panther, King of Wakanda, King of the Dead, Luke Charles, The Most Dangerous Man Alive)
  • Intermediate God
  • Hero Class: A
  • Symbol: The Black Panther Mask
  • Alignment: Lawful Good
  • Reason for Joining: Serves as representative for Wakanda.
  • Loyalty to Cosmos: High, but his loyalty is to his kingdom of Wakanda first and foremost.
  • Threat Level to Melkor: High. Now that Wakanda has ties to the GUAG, the supplies of Vibranium will make things difficult for the Dark Lord.

    Charles Xavier
Charles Francis Xavier, God of Bald Psychics (Professor X)
  • Greater God
  • Hero Class: S
  • Symbol: His Wheelchair
  • Alignment: Neutral Good
  • Reason for Joining: With Wolverine and Jean Grey being in the Superhero Division already when he ascended, he felt a need to watch over them, especially after the fiasco that was Dark Phoenix.
  • Loyalty to Cosmos: High, but only in so far as to keep his mutants safe, though he is more decent about it than Token Evil Teammate Magneto. Cosmos respects this, so he's loyal.
  • Threat Level to Melkor: Very High, though Jean Grey has him beat in psychic abilities.

    Doctor Strange
Doctor Stephen Strange, God of Pure Sorcery, The Wizard Who Did It, and Liaison to the GUAG Magus Killers (Sorcerer Supreme, Master of the Mystic Arts, Dumb Magician (only Hulk can get away calling him this))
  • Greater God
  • Hero Class: S
  • Symbol: Ankh, the Eye of Agamotto
  • Alignment: Neutral Good
  • Reason for Joining: As Sorcerer Supreme, it's his duty to maintain balance in the multiverse.
  • Loyalty to Cosmos: He shares very similar ideals with Cosmos, so they're fine for now.
  • Threat Level to Melkor: High. Melkor knows what he's capable of. Promoted to Very High after he annoyed and mind-screwed Dormammu into submission.

    Henry "Hank" Pym
Henry Pym, God of Size Shifters (Hank, Ant-Man, Giant Man, Yellowjacket, Wasp II)
  • Lesser God
  • Hero Class: B
  • Symbol: A hand holding an Ant.
  • Alignment: Neutral Good with occasional Chaotic Good and Lawful Good moments, with unfortunate moments of Chaotic Evil on occasion
  • Reason for Joining:
  • Loyalty to Cosmos:
  • Threat Level to Melkor:

    Mr. Fantastic
Reed Richards, Member of the Divine Badass Family (Mr. Fantastic)
  • Intermediate God (The Fantastic Four are Greater Deities as a team)
  • Hero Class: A
  • Symbol: A Circle with the Number Four inside.
  • Alignment: Neutral Good
  • Reason for Joining: It's the right thing to do, and like Tony, he feels the need to make up for his actions during the Civil War.
  • Loyalty to Cosmos: More or less. If she lets him play around, he's perfectly fine.
  • Threat Level to Melkor: Moderate-low, he may have superpowers, range, and high resistance to bludgeons, but, after all, Reed Richards Is Useless. If he fixes this though, could be a lot higher.
  • Also a member of the GUAG Command.

    Namor, the Sub-Mariner
Namor, The Hair-Trigger Temper God (The Sub-Mariner)

The Avengers

Like with the DC battalion, its flagship superheroes have unofficial command status over the rest of the members.

    Black Widow
Natasha Romanoff, Goddess of Sensual Slavs (Natalia Alianovna Romanova, Black Widow)
  • Lesser Goddess
  • Hero Class: A
  • Symbol: The Black Widow belt buckle
  • Alignment: Lawful Good
  • Loyalty to Cosmos: High. She serves Fury, and he's loyal, so she is.
  • Threat Level to Melkor: High. She is one of the best fighters and spies in Marvel, and is basically in terms of physical abilty, the GUAG's counterpart to Lady Shiva.
  • Also a spy for the GUAG Intelligence Division.

    Hulk
Bruce Banner/The Incredible Hulk, God of Strong Transformations Caused by Anger

    Thor
Thor, God of Thunder (Thor Odinson, Donald Blake, Prince of Asgard)
  • Greater God
  • Hero Class: S
  • Symbol: His hammer Mjölnir
  • Alignment: Chaotic Good
  • Reason for Joining: Standing in to defend those threatened by those Evil Gods. Also, Melkor set his sights to Asgard, there's no way Thor is going to sit idly with it. Thor also has many friends amongst his fellow gods, and his loyalty to justice is only rivaled by his loyalty to his friends.
  • Loyalty to Cosmos: FOOLS! It is folly to doubt the Odinson's loyalty to the cause of justice!! Away with thee!!!
  • Threat level to Melkor: VERY high. Thor's absolute intolerance of evil and determination to stomp it out are traits which are threatening in any opponent of the GUAE, but Thor backs it up with pure physical might, magic power rivaling the strongest gods in the pantheon, and sheer leadership and inspirational ability. An angry Thunder God screaming in rage and charging at you is a surefire sign that MANY other heroes will rally behind him as well.

Blackagar Boltagon/Black Bolt, God of Super-Scream (King of the Inhumans)

  • Hero Class: S
  • Symbol: His helmet on the Inhumans insignia.
  • Alignment: True Neutral
  • Reason for joining: The GUAE contains the likes of the Skrulls or at least those who had the same mindset, and they threaten the Inhumans. As a King, Black Bolt must take action. Besides, fellow Illuminati Iron Man, Reed Richards and Doctor Strange have joined, thus he also joins in the fray.
  • Loyalty to Cosmos: Cosmos saved him from the hole that he created during his climatic battle against Vulcan, and had gently reprimanded him of how insane his plan could be, and promised him a way to achieve his goal without a plan that insane. Black Bolt is interested.
  • Threat level to Melkor: Moderate. Melkor would've put him in the 'Those hit with Badass Decay/Chickification List', but his insanely broken power is too dangerous to overlook.
