• July 3: New York taxi driver Harry Canyon rescues a redheaded woman from a gangster trying to steal the Loc-Nar. Harry and the woman later have sex. (Heavy Metal)
• July 4: After previously agreeing to split the money with Harry Canyon after selling the Loc-Nar to Rudnick (who gets melted by it), the redheaded woman double-crosses Harry. He disintegrates her in self-defense, and summarizes the events as a "two-day ride with one hell of a tip." (Heavy Metal)

• In the last two seconds of a basketball game between the New York Knicks and Phoenix Suns, Charles Barkley performs a Chaos Dunk, killing nearly all in attendance. • Earth has few international political problems anymore, and environmental issues are slowly getting under control.
