General

  • Whenever Alaric Saltzman, the Badass Normal who became a Empowered Badass Normal and then a regular Badass Normal again, has to deal with his two teenage daughters. Original Vampires, Ancient witches, and other horrors have nothing when it comes to Josie and Lizzie Saltzman. Lizzie in general whenever she proves to be Caroline Forbes' daughter.
  • The Almighty Necromancer!! A Frankenstein-man with magic over the dead whose over the top performance is matched by people's unamused reactions to it. He is left repeatedly befuddled by their Deadpan Snarker attitudes to him not realizing how of them are Bored with Insanity.
    • He proves to be such a huge hit with the fans that he ends up replacing Triad as the central Big Bad starting in season 2.

Season 1

1x01: "This is the Part Where You Run
  • Alaric used to have a big speech about the nature of the Salvator School being a Extranormal Institute, "peeling back the layers" to help people adjust...and did away with it because at this point EVERYONE has read and/or seen Harry Potter.
  • Lizzie's magic-induced Tantrum Throwing is terrifying, but what's funny is how even when she nearly telekinetically jams a knife in his throat Ric seems not even phased by it.
    • Later they're seen attempting to meditate as part of helping Lizzie deals with her issues. Not only is she bored and thinks its lame but becomes incredulous to learn the students were throwing a Wild Teen Party she was missing out on.
    • The fact Alaric knew the party was happening and was planning to "discover it" and shut it down in about five minutes. He tells this to Hope in a tone sounding like this was not the first time it happened.

1x02: "Some People Just Want to Watch the World Burn
  • As part of their cover, the Salvatore School has an annual play-off game with Mystic Falls High. Further as part of that cover, the students not are not allowed to use their powers but deliberately lose. Often badly.

     1x03: "We're Being Punked, Pedro
  • After the events of the last episode, the Wickery team along with Hope are sent into Mystic Falls to do community service for the brawl Lizzie started last episode. Lizzie tries to throw Josie under the bus by blaming the brawl on her for sabotaging the team's efforts to win in the final moments. It's pointed out they would still be in trouble for winning the game when they were supposed to lose.
  • Lizzie has one of her typical moments when one of the jocks from Mystic Falls High spills his milkshake on her and claims to have been assaulted. She naturally turns around into how its Alaric's fault while he can only stand there dumbstruck at his daughter's rant.
    • Keep in mind, Emma the school counselor was there the whole time and had just been reassured Ric has everything under control when she wanted him to speak to her.
Lizzie: [as melodramatically as possible] Now at least you know why I'm so screwed up [walks away in a huff].

1x04: "Hope is Not the Goal
  • When some of the students are sent to Mystic Falls High to investigate the disappearance of two girls, Hope manages to become part of the popular clique by lunch. Next we see her, she's meeting with Landon to compare notes and is wearing a pair of cat (or wolf?) ears on her head. Landon actually asks who she is.
  • While running through the woods to track down the Monster of the Week (an Archne), Alaric calls MG who immediately gives it to Lizzie saying he's not gonna tell the headmaster what they're doing. She says she sucks at lying and gives it to Landon as he's great at it. He pawns it off on Hope saying she's his favorite who in turns gives it back to Lizzie saying she's "the hero."
    • Lizzie's "Hi Daddy" and his tone when he reveals to have found Dana's remains sounds a lot like a teenager whose stash of weed been found by their parent.
  • In some great Black Comedy, Dana's death is this from her undignified death of literally vomiting until all that's left of her is her skin to how the kids stuffed said skin in the bus glove-compartment simply because they couldn't think of any place to put it.
  • Hope, Josie, and Lizzie's awesome Team Power Walk out of the Old Mill after defeating the Archne is undermined by the fact they're covered head to toe in the monster's remains. The scene being played completely straight despite them walking around covered in bug slime just adds to it.

     1x06: "Mombie Dearest
  • After a rather depressing episode, the show manages to cram in some last-minute levity with the introduction of The Almighty Necromancer!!!. A Frankenstien-looking creature who demands that Dorian and Alaric tremble in fear before their doom...Alaric knocks him out with a shovel.

1x07: "Death Keeps Knocking on My Door
  • The Necromancer being completely oblivious to the fact no-ones knows who he is after being devoured by Malivore.. He spends the first half of the episode thinking they're playing mind games until Hope shows how he's barely a footnote in the various occult books. He spends a solid minute tearing apart the books and throwing the remnants around the cell in a epic tantrum.

1x08: "Maybe I Should Start from the End
  • Hope and Alaric receive news that Landon is in trouble via a magical tracking device Hope gave him when he left a few episodes before. They track it to a house where they hear screaming and Hope jumps the gun, blowing the door down with magic to the shock of two senior citizens. Turns out Landon's mother Seylah dropped in a mailbox to mislead them.
    • The best part is how Hope is too concerned about her not-boyfriend Landon to care while Alaric is embarrassed, apologizingly saying they'll pay to replace the door as they leave.
  • Hope and Landon hooking up is Heartwarming as they two kiss turning into a heavy make-out session...and then Alaric comes in to talk and reacts exactly like a father walking in on his daughter and her boyfriend.
Alaric: Hope go get another room.
Hope: You said I should connect with people.
Alaric: Yeah I didn't mean literally, go!

1x09: "What Was Hope Doing in Your Dreams?
  • The Monster of the Week is a "night hag" (really an Oneri aka a dream demon) who can affect the person in the real world through their dreams. Naturally MG compares it to Freddy Krueger.
    • When they come to realize that they'll need to grab the demon and wake up to pull it into the real world, MG points out, "So exactly like Freddy Krueger."
  • The Title Drop comes from Landon asking Raf this after he lets slip she was in a dream he was having, where she kisses him revealing he has feelings for his best friend and foster brother's girlfriend.
    • Raf manages to recover by saying she was being her usual badass self right and as she and the dream demon comes crashing through the main doors to the auditorium.

1x10: "There's a World Where Your Dreams Came True
  • After being Europe with their mother for a couple of weeks, Josie and Lizzie arrive back at the school and to their father's surprise its entire day early. Despite them calling. And texting. And an emailing their updated itinerary. Josie doesn't seem to mind while Lizzie is, of course, in full blown Spoiled Brat mode.
Lizzie: Because you weren't there we needed to take a three-hour shuttle ride that smelled like a sewer. And feet.
  • Lizzie A Day in the Limelight episode has her dealing with the Monster of the Week, a genie named Jinni. Their interactions mainly of said genie correcting her on the pronouncing of her name. The best part is that its implied that neither realize that Lizzie is calling a genie and latter is explain her name is Jinni.

     1x11: "We're Gonna Need a Spotlight
  • After half a season, the school has finally put together a barrier spell that'll trap any monster who tries come after the urn Triad is after. Naturally, its the middle of the night when this happens with Dorian, Alaric, and Hope heading into the woods to find it. The funny part is that while Dorian and Hope are dressed, Ric is in his pajamas and robe while brandishing a crossbow.
Hope: Didn't have time for pants?
Alaric: Bit late for snark Hope.
    • And said monster they're looking for? A freaking unicorn. Hope actually has to stop her two teachers from actually shooting it pointing out they can't just kill a unicorn. Droian thinks it's because All Girls Like Ponies.
  • Seeing Hope Mikaelson being giggly, cheery, and overall acting like a normal teenager is so surreal its amazing someone didn't put the clues together faster.
    • After he announces postponing the talent show, Hope mentions to the newly returned Lizzie and Josie how he was overreacting cue Gilligan Cut to his office:
Lizzie: Dearest father, would this dangerous monster happen to be a magical pony?
Alaric: [With the funniest Oh, Crap! face possible] Maybe.
  • The basic premise of the episode is the Monster of the Week being parasitic slugs that infect people and lower their inhibitions as a way of taking control of them. This leads to a number of characters to act Not Themselves. At the same time as the school's yearly talent show.
    • Hope becomes what amounts to normal teenager, Kaleb goes from deriding the talent show to enthusiastically doing a musical number, and Alaric and Emma (the school counselor) play hooky. Except not really in Ric's case: he just turned out to really need a day-off. Right after making out with Emma. ("Well, that's awkward.")
  • Alaric Saltzman has faced vampires, ancient evils, and now even freaking dragons but there's one day every year he faces with dread and marks on the calendar with a black 'X'. The school's annual talent show.
  • Lizzie has been acting usually nice since her return home from Europe and naturally leads one to think she's been infected. Turns out she wanted to turn over a new leaf and resorted to using an enchanted bracelet that shocks her in ever increasing voltage whenever she said something mean.
    • By the end of the episode, she's given up and decided to go in the completely opposite direction and unleash her "inner bitch" She happily kisses her father goodnight and thanks him for the talk, all while Ric has the biggest "oooooh shit " look on his face.

     1x12: "There's A Mummy On Main Street
  • The title of the episode to start. Even better is the episode can be summed up as the most awkward family road trip ever.
    • To elaborate, in order to find the urn thrown in the river last episode Alaric, Dorian, Emma, Lizzie, Josie, Hope, and Kaleb go on a trip to another town. Only Ric and Emma, the latter under a slug's influence and the former drunk, made out while Emma is currently dating Dorian who has no idea about said kiss. Lizzie and Josie want to spend time with their dad and Hope "conned" her way onto the trip to help hunt the Monster of the Week. And Kaleb's there simply cause Alaric doesn't trust him to not sneak off and feed on humans.
      Alaric: God help us.
  • Emma Tg, whose a school counselor for dangerous supernatural teenagers, having an Absurd Phobia when it comes to "creepy crawlies." Even more her epic freak-out when her picnic with Dorian in the Cold Opening after its invaded by an army of beetles.
  • After title sequence, Alaric and Dorian are revealed to have been looking for the urn after Ric through it into the river last episode under the slug's influence. More Ric figuring out where in the river he chucked it and Dorian, in full scuba gear, physically goes looking for it.
    • Dorian managing in one sentence to console Ric about the how thing pointing out how the slug made him to do it while pointing out how stupid it was.
  • The montage of classic road trip drama especially as Ric acts like that dad who tries to make it as fun as possible including packing lunches (that consist only of baloney) and trying to get everyone to sing the "Bottles of Beer" song.
    • Hope being stuck between Josie and Lizzie with the latter taking opportunities to do punch buggies on her and the former getting carsick and throwing up twice. Even better since she told them that she needs to music to not get sick and only did so cause Lizzie didn't want to be left alone with Hope.
    • The blonde twin naturally being the one who asks "Are we there yet?" to her father who gives a Big "YES!" when they do get there in a tone that suggest he's on the verge of strangling her.
  • Lizzie making claims that Hope routinely ruins any spring break plans the Saltzman's have planned including the time she accidently caused a fire or when she gave Lizzie the flu in fifth grade.
  • A terrifying encounter becomes hysterical when the titular Mummy appears and takes down all the Triad members. After walking up and snarling in his face, Dorian stands there terrified as the monster takes the urn out of his hand...in the same "Mine!" way a toddler would after finding another toddler with their favorite toy. Then it just ups and walks away to a badass ballad as the teacher stands there dumbstruck.
  • Kaleb's hilarious pep-talking activities while compelling the towns-people into forgetting about the bug attack.
    • Specific examples include getting an older salaryman to push for a raise and bonuses, and convincing a woman to go home and quit smoking.

1x13: "The Boy Who Still Has a Lot of Good to Do
  • During the spring break assembly, Kaleb asks Rafael to hang out and keep an eye on MG while he's gone and when the wolf is on the fence uses good old fashion guilt:
Kaleb: Its the least you can do after getting down and dirty with the love of his life. note  [Raf looks back at him in surprise] Oh yeah, everybody knows. [Raf looks around the crowd] Them too.
  • Alaric goes to recruit Kaleb to get MG and Landan back from whatever mess they've gotten themselves into, only to be greeted to the sight of the big bad vampire in a sleeping mask and slippers that look like sharks.
    • Kaleb's "are you serious" attitude to be woken up in the middle of the night only a few hours after being told from Dr. Saltzman that everything would be alright.
  • The reason Hope's tracking spell fails to locate the boys is because Penelope Park gave them a cloaking spell as a gift for Raf dumping Lizzie on her birthday.

1x14: "Let's Just Finish the Dance
  • Landon takes to being a Phoenix and effectively immortal well. For example when Hope has a nightmare and accidently launches him across the room, he just brushes himself off.
  • Being the good boyfriend he is, Landon goes to Alaric with concerns which the headmaster inquires about during their sparing lesson later. Hope's naturally annoyed asks if "boyfriend-confidentiality" is a thing.
    • Hope refuses to admit that she's upset with Landon's temporary death last episode during the session until finally losing her temper. Like with Landon she ends up knocking Ric off his feet and lands square on the floor; then she admits she might be a little off. Its the adorable "oh my god I nearly killed my teacher/father-figure I need to get out of here" tone she takes before bolting.
    • ...And then Lizzie casually walks up to her still-sprawled-on-the-floor father to talk about a shipment he needs to sign off on, which implies that she was standing there the whole time and not even fazed by Hope magically judo-throwing her dad.

     1x15: "I'll Tell You a Story
  • After being captured by Triad, Landon points out repeatedly to Ryan Clarke that he doesn't know anything nor would if he did refusing to help Triad. Clarke corrects him that Triad wants the artifacts to stay hidden; he's the one trying to unlock Malivore. Landon is left confused as he thanks him for the honesty but is still not gonna tell him anything.
  • After their falling out with Landon and Josie, Hope and Lizzie respectively agree to team up help get back into their good graces. By that is to say Hope's taken Josie place as the one to deal with Lizzie's usual self.
    • Lizzie is a bit tightly-wound due to a lack of sleep which Hope points out, only to quickly backpedal when Lizzie seems to start becoming a bit more unhinged.

Season 2

2x03: "You Remind Me of Someone I Used To Know
  • YMMV but the sheer irony regarding the annual game where Josie is all for Vardemus' new policy to not only win the game but use their powers. Meanwhile Lizzie is doing research trying to figure out what Sebastian is and passes on being the new quarterback after Landon bails to get Raf back.
  • Hope being found in Landon and Raf's room doing a tracking spell by the former. Ordinarily this would turn into the Not What It Looks Like moment where Hope looks like some stalker...only Landon is Genre Savvy enough to immediately figure she's a witch and tries to bolt.
  • This leads to a sly Harry Potter Shout-Out when Hope use a spell to freeze him in place, except for the part where Landon can still talk.
    • When he insists on coming to save Raf after learning she can turn him back, Hope points out she can just freeze him again his argument is ask how long the spell lasts. Hope concedes and practically knocks him over as she gives him the (apparently) heavy bag to carry.
  • When they encounter the Shunka Warakin and proves too tough to fight, Hope goes with Plan B: to which she bluntly, embarrassedly, says involves getting naked. Landon's forced to turn around confused and asks why it involves nudity to which Hope says she's going to draw the monster away as it only hunts werewolves.
Landon: But you're a witch. A lying witch. [Sees Hopes clothes on the ground including her sports bra, immedaitely looks straight ahead] A lying, very naked witch.
  • The back and forth between Lizzie and Sebastian starts out foreboding as he is vague about why they can't be together all leads to his dramatic reveal...he's a vampyr, a creature of the night. Lizzie actually laughs at this point and the music changes to comical to his confusion. Lizzie actually has to explain that some of her best friends are vampires and who she asked if he was a monster, she meant a kraken or something.
2x04: "Since When Do You Speak Japanese?
     2x05: "Screw Endgame
  • MG and Sebastian's Wimp Fight especially since only the former can see the latter and so Kaleb, who can't see Sebastian, only sees his friend flipping out. Particularly Sebastian Dope Slapping the vamp twice.
2x08: "This Christmas Was Surprisingly Violent
  • The simple fact that the writer's found a way to make a Christmas Episode despite the timeframe putting it in October by simply having everyone enchanted to act like it's Christmas. Hope is the only left unaffected acting as the Only Sane Man.
    • When Rick first arrives, he's telling Dorian how everyone is riding sleighs, adults are "acting like idiots" as they put up Christmas lights...only for Dorian to turn around and shown to be wearing a very festive Christmas sweater.
    • How does Hope manage to get everyone snap of out it? By announcing that Santa Claus isn't real. So you can imagine her surprise when old St. Nick shows up.
    • Santa proving to be a Badass Santa who ends up killing The Krampus through a series of wrestling moves and Super-Speed as everyone cheers on the jolly old elf.
  • The Title Card changed to look like its for a special from the 50s with ornaments around the title and everything.
  • Hope comes barging into Lizzie and Josie's room looking for the former:
Lizzie: [Sit in bed tired] We get it Hope you back. Now disappear again.
Hope: [Relieved] Oh still a bitch. Thank god! [Pulls Lizzie into a hug]
  • Hope's list of suspects include Jack Frost, Heat Miser, a yeti, The Grinch, and Frosty the Snowman! Which given who the Monster of the Week and given who shows up this episode to help its not that much of a stretch.
    • Given last season Landon speculated that modern stories could've been inspired by monsters who were erased by Malivore means there can be a distinct possibility of this, taking All Myths Are True up to eleven!

2x15: "Life Was So Much Easier When I Only Cared About Myself

2x16: "Facing Darkness is Kinda My Thing
  • After pulling a Faking the Dead, Lizzie uses the illusion ring to disguise herself as Hope so no-one is suspicious about her absence while in Dark Josie's mind. Despite she's suppose to be keeping a low profile, Lizzie as Hope decides to plan her own funeral.
    • When Jed protests that no-one will believe the disguise, Lizzie goes up to a group of werewolves to help. Despite acting nothing like Hope, none of them sees anything amiss to Jed's disbelief.
    • The only one who senses something off is Dark Josie and only because she hasn't noticed anything since the failed Marge. Otherwise nobody might have realized the truth aside those already in the know.

Season 3

     3x02: "Goodbyes Sure Do Suck
  • Opening scene features what appears to be a flashback to the fall of Camelot with Rafael (as Arthur) in plate armor facing off against another knight. Only to turn out that Landon is reading to his foster brother from a book he found, which he's made fun of.
    • The simple fact that Landon is more excited that Raf is apparently about being the descendant of King Arthur than Raf himself.
    • What causes him to interrupt the Imagine Spot is when Arthur!Rafael is saved by a hooded figure who is revealed to be none other than Hope. What's funny is that unlike the two knights who are in fairly standard armor, Camelot!Hope is in extremely badass red armor like something out of a cosplay/fantasy movie. Implying that Landon put more effort into Hope's role in the daydream than Arthur!Raf.
  • Alyssa's "job interview" with The Necromancer whose left befuddled by her attitude regarding signing-up with him. He tries to repeatedly stress that it's a Sadistic Choice, she joins or dies horribly, while she argues that she's not going to blindly sign-up and wants to know his plans.

     3x03: "Salvatore: The Musical!
  • The entire episode. Best summed as the Malivore Monster of the Week turning all the students into The Vampire Diaries fandom with lots of Call Backs and Leaning on the Fourth Wall.
    • Goodfellow taking over the school thanks to his powers and his plan for the students...is to have them make a musical about the founding of the school. Truly one of the greater evils unleashed by Malivore.
    • The Running Gag of everyone (from the nerd to even women) auditioning for the musical by saying "I see myself as Damon."
    • Landon, who's in charge of auditions, guesses at one point that Jed wants to be Damon, only to behold he wants the role of Stefan. Landon wholeheartedly agrees Stefan is central to the plot, with Jed's excited to get the part even when Landon says no-one else tried for it.
    • Lizzie, naturally, gets the role of her mother Caroline. By which we mean she strolls in and tells Landon she's playing that role. When he points out that she needs to audition for it?
Lizzie: Are you saying there's someone who knows my mom better than me?
      Landon: (Beat) Got it, ok.
    • She also gets Josie the role of Elena aka the lead part in the musical, convincing her that given her singing chops seen in the talent show last year. What's funny is that Landon just giving the parts away implies that no-one else auditioned for any role but Damon.
  • Dr. Goodfellow is revealed to be none other than Puck and proves to be a massive Gadfly, especially with poor M.G. To elaborate, Alyssa astral projects and tells M.G. there's monster at the school, one he won't realize it, so he goes to Dr. Goodfellow for help.

     3x04: "Hold On Tight
  • Alyssa repeatedly refers to The Necromancer by his human name "Ted" and apparently does so since its less of a mouth-full then The Necromancer. It also turns out his Yandere and picked M.G. to be the sacrifice specifically because TN will bring him back in love with her.
  • When taking Hope through some steam tunnels into the school, Landon mentions his old bully Conner saying "R.I.pieces" in the process.
  • Josie's absolute glee when she realizes that M.G. has won Lizzie over at long last upon seeing her sister "pining" for him and worried for his safety.

3x05: "This Is What It Takes
  • Hope spends the episode stuck with the "therapy box" which she points out turn into a Film Noir bartender...only to spend this time as the Final Girl in a 80s Slasher Film.
  • Alaric and Hope have been hunting for an artifact that can apparently grant someone’s deepest wish. When he finds it at the end of the episode, it looks a lot like birthday cake with candles.

3x06: "To Whom It May Concern
  • The Reveal of what became of The Necromancer since we last saw him being chased by Malivore: the entity reabsorbed him but this time made him suffer a fate worse than endless darkness. Malivore recreated the ice cream parlor where TN was forced to work as a human, magically chained there to serve the various monsters and humans trapped within the void.
    • Malivore, being a surprisingly good sport gave The Necromancer an out: he was given a key to the outside world (outside Malivore that is) and the chains are enchanted.
      • To unlock the chains The Necromancer must do something he never would do: which as it turns out is the "Happy and You Know It" song that he refuses to sing when customers tip him.
      • He believes that the worlds on the key to be some sort of riddle, but Landon realizes its the name of an appliance supplier from when he works the Mystic Grill. As he points out to The Necromancer, the best forms of torture are the ones Hidden in Plain Sight.
     3x07: "Yup, It's a Leprechaun All Right
  • Alaric is trying to be upbeat about the new student body. When Hope whispers "there's only nine of us," Alaric points out how that means her voice carries in the mostly empty hall.
    • Lizzie can barely keep it together noting the tragic results of the school budget lowered include...shutting down the Smoothie bar. A Brick Joke comes up later when they start raking in dough thanks to the Leprechaun that's infiltrated the school with Lizzie stating they can not only bring back the smoothie bar, but get the student spa the students always wanted:
Lizzie:...Okay that I always wanted but still!

     3x08: "Long Time, No See
  • During the team meeting to rescue Landon from the prison world, Wade joins Team Hope...because he and Gabby need a DM and Landon's the only one good at it.
  • While everyone is pissed at MG for hiding the ascendant and lying about it being destroyed Jed is still getting shit for sleeping with Alyssa while she was dating MG. The witches apparently either enchanted or cursed Jed personally so that a big scarlet colored "A" appears on his clothes.

3x09: "Do All Malivore Monsters Provide This Level of Emotional Insight?
  • The Monster of the Week is an adorable little pink creature that both Landon and Lizzie find to be incredible cute.
Landon: Oh that is the cutest monster ever.
    Hope: What is it?
Lizzie: I don't know but I want one!
    • The creature acts cute and even imitates Landon as it coos but when Lizzie suggests finding a way to see if it talks:
Monster: [High-pitched] Screw you! How's that for talking?
  • Landon being so excited to realize the Monster of the Week is a gremlin, giving an excited "finally!"
    • When they learn that the creature feeds and grows stronger from disrespect, they realize that they'll need to work harmoniously and being respectful of each other. Given the events of the last few episodes, everyone's general attitude is an understandable "we are so screwed".

3x11: "You Can't Run From Who You Are
  • The episode begins with the Super Squad trying to figure out how to activate Cleo's powers as a Muse, trying meditation. It fails revealing its the ninth thing they've tried.
    Hope: What's next?
Landon: Um, (Looks at the chalkboard) "mind meld"
  • Josie arrives at The Salvatore School finding the place deserted as her father had given the students a three-day weekend sans the Squad. She finds out from Wade who she initially mistook for the latest Monster of the Week due to being decked head-to-toe in armor to "defend" the school.
  • Hope gets the idea to contact The Necromancer in the prison world and pull a trick from one of Kai Parker's playbook. Landon points out she needs to be more specific as he had a lot of tricks.
    • Her plan ends up being to collapse the prison world destroying Malivore which her boyfriend thinks is a fantastic idea. Then she says she'll get that world's version of the ascendant and TN's blood by offering to free him in exchange.
Landon: (Bug eyed) I take it back: that is a terrible idea.
Hope: (In a "I'm not an idiot" tone) Don't worry I plan to screw him over.
    • In the prison world, Hope is shown giving her pitch seemingly to The Necromancer only for it to turn out that its practice with Landon filling in for their enemy. Kudos for his actor, and Landon In-Universe, for managing to perfectly capture the villain's hamminess.
    • Landon as The Necromancer calling Hope his "second most detestable enemy" to her amusement likely the "most detestable" enemy slot for himself.

3x12: "I Was Made To Love You
  • The Necromancer returns for seemingly one final episode: after finding him dead in the prison world, Alaric and Josie are able to track him...to a funeral home. Turns out whatever spell he used to escape turned him human again and gave him amnesia on top of that. He now runs the funeral home as the human "Ted" and proves to be a pretty nice guy who doesn't believe the supernatural exists.
    • After being convinced that he really doesn't remember anything, Alaric ensures that Ted doesn't go anywhere by putting a hand grenade in his hand and pulling the pin.
    • Josie's reaction to learning that her father's plan for The Necromancer to summon the spirit of Leonardo Di Vinci who apparently created the artifact they're researching. Later, Ted is able to do so...except none of them speak Italian and Di Vinci doesn't speak English. They try to have Jed, who vacationed in Rome, to help but only knows up to two words such as "espresso" and "grazie".
  • When the fake Landon, a golem created from the bust Hope previously made a couple episodes ago, points out that he was made to love her all the girl can point out said bust was used using Landon's remains. She gives a very understandable "ew" and points out how gross she is at the idea.

     3x13: "This Feels a Little Cult-y

Season 4

4 X5: "I Thought You'd Be Happier To See Me"
  • At the hospital, Lizzie rants about their father near death, needing special healing blood and this obviously being a vampire attack. Cue a woman lowering a newspaper behind her to give a baffled look, then quickly move away from this seeming lunatic.
  • Rebekah moaning on how Hope is looking at her like "I'm an old."
    • Her first move hitting the bar? Compelling a waitress to change the stereo from country music.
  • The twins find themselves in a memory of a time of "utter chaos and wanton destruction and close to death"...their 11th birthday party where their forgetting to invite Hope led to a cake full of worms and burned bouncy house.
