    Nintendo
Nintendo seems to love this trope with a burning passion.

    Other
  • Arknights: Sniper operator Fiammetta is this trope both figuratively and literally - she's a phoenix-themed Liberi with bright red hair, wields powerful pyrokinetic Originium Arts for her weapons, and has a Hair-Trigger Temper that gets set off at the slightest provocation.
  • BlazBlue: Tsubaki is a rare example of this trope being Double Subverted. She's a redhead, but for all of the first game (where she was an NPC), she was a studious, level-headed, rather pleasant Yamato Nadeshiko. Where the double subversion kicks in is when she is introduced as a playable character with her own story in the second game: she's actually a deeply wounded Clingy Jealous Girl to her love-interest Jin. It goes so far that not only does she become a vengeful, screaming maniac whenever someone gets too close to him, she actually tries to murder her friend Noel after Big Bad Hazama convinces her that Noel stole away her chance to be with him, and she performs a Face–Heel Turn. Fortunately, Tsubaki can't bring herself to kill Noel, and later both Noel and Makoto can bring her back to the side of good.
  • Body Blows: Danny is a redheaded Delinquent from Boston who puts his anger to good use in battle against various other street fighters, martial artists, robots, and aliens. For that matter he, to quote his character profile from the first game, "has learnt to control rage to produce bolts of pure aggression."
  • Dark Chronicle: Monica Raybrandt. Even though the game's point of view is centered on Max, she's the leader in the team and has a... unique sense of humor, especially where Firbits are concerned.
  • Dark Parables: In the seventh installment, the Fairy Tale Detective meets Rapunzel's betrothed, Prince Ross. He's a red-haired, red-eyed Hunk who wields both a Flaming Sword and Elemental Powers of fire, and he's rather intense and comes across as more than a little angry. He's an extremely good person, however, and he loves Rapunzel devotedly.
  • Disgaea 2: Cursed Memories: What Adell lacks in gender, he makes up in ridiculous levels of fieriness — both figuratively and literally.
  • Don't Starve: Wigfrid is a redheaded actress Lost in Character as a battle-hungry Valkyrie, with the personality this implies.
  • Dragon Age:
    • Dragon Age: Origins: At first glance, this trope is averted, as the pious "good girl" Leliana is a redhead and the "bad girl" Morrigan is a brunette. However, Morrigan is a frosty kind of dark — sexual but not emotional; whereas Leliana is a former seductress-assassin and potentially an affectionate romance option for the player's character (whether male or female).
      • If Leliana becomes "hardened" due to her personal quest, she plays this trope perfectly straight from then on.
      • And Oghren plays the trope straight into your face from the moment you meet him. His personality alone deserves its own slot in the party selection.
  • Dragon Quest:
  • Dune: House Harkonnen. While this trope may not be entirely noticeable in Dune II and Dune 2000, this is very prevalent in Emperor: Battle for Dune. Several of the Harkonnen people notably have red hair (including Baron Rakan, Copec, and plenty of the house's infantry) and this very house is known to be cruel even to their own. The Baron does not hesitate one bit to scold a field general who failed a mission, giving a warning like "if this inept performance continues, I'll have you skinned alive!" Indeed, when you view the first FMV cutscene for this house, you hear the previous general cry out in agony, getting tortured by a slow and excruciatingly painful death because he failed his superior leaders. In the cutscenes, Copec and Rakan have short tempers. In the first cutscene when Gunseng attempts to help his ailing father, Rakan pushes Gunseng away with a hint of anger and tells him to go away. The whole House of the Harkonnen is corrupt and only consider their own desires, hence the artificial alterations to most of Geidi Prime; hardly anything can grow there by itself and new things require the expense of older substances to develop.
  • Fallout:
  • Galaxy Angel: Zigzagged with Forte Stollen; despite having red hair, she's the most level-headed and the calmest girl in the Angel Brigade. Played straight during game battles, as she will frequently crow that enemies can't get away from her, and will curse if she misses her target.
  • Ghost Trick gives us an excellent example in the determined, passionate and energetic Lynne.
  • Giana Sisters: Punk Giana from The Great Giana Sisters, Giana Sisters DS and Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams is a daring, enthusiastic, adventurous pyrokinetic redhead.
  • Golden Axe: Excepting the game versions and art which depict her as a blonde or brunette, Tyris Flare is a fiery redhead in that she can summon explosions and dragons with her magic.
  • Golden Sun: Mars Adepts typically partner this trope with Hot Blood and Personality Powers, making them good cases of Color-Coded for Your Convenience. Red hair = fire! As of Golden Sun: Dark Dawn, we have:
    • Garet (hair is more brown in his character art, but red on his sprite and he fits the personality). Garet's siblings both demonstrate this trope; his parents, less so.
    • Jenna (hair is maroon, but the personality fits).
    • Akafubu of Kibombo (subverting Magical Negro in the process).
    • Karst (surprisingly, the only Fire Clan member to follow this trope).
    • Tyrell (considering Garet's his father).
  • Heavenly Sword: Nariko. There has perhaps never been so much red coming out of one head. Excepting, perhaps, cases of massive cranial trauma.
  • In the 1st Degree presents Ruby Garcia. She is a redhead, her first name refers to red, and she has the attitude. She is the girlfriend of the defendant James Tobin, and she wants to believe that he's not a murderer. In fact, asking the wrong questions (especially questions that make Tobin sound like a murderer) will get you an explosive outburst from her.
  • Kingdom Hearts:
    • Lea/Axel. Bonus points for having literal fire powers in addition to his temper and passion.
    • While normally a brunette, Sora has red hair in Monstropolis, and at one point, becomes impulsive enough to try and smash a terminal with the Keyblade if it means escaping a burning section of the factory.
  • League of Legends: Miss Fortune is red-headed and passionate... but falls more into the territory of cool-headed, teasing, and seductive Femme Fatale Ms. Fanservice, yet still has a competitive edge. That is, until she's told to use her ultimate skill, Bullet Time, in which she goes very fiery and lets out a great laugh as she pelts you with bullets.
  • Love of Magic: Literally in Katie's case; she's an Evoker who specializes in fire magic, in addition to having a fiery temperament. Bella is a downplayed version, as she keeps herself under tight control because she's a werewolf and losing control lets out the beast.
  • Mass Effect 2:
  • Mega Man: Mega Man (Classic): Mega Man: Fire Man, who was a red fieryhead. His Mega Man Powered Up depiction is Hot-Blooded to the point of sounding like Yosemite Sam.
  • Minecraft: Story Mode has hotheaded Action Girl Petra.
  • The Orion Conspiracy: Brooks plays this trope straight to a T. She can cuss, she can fight, she can have sex, she can do a lot.
  • Planescape: Torment features the sharp-tongued, passionate, brash tiefling thief Annah-Of-The-Shadows.
  • Postal: Played With in the case of the Postal Dude. While he can sound very angry when yelling and chuckles that sounds very maniacal, he is most of the time relaxed when cutting off limbs, bashing heads off, beheading, shooting and blowing up people who get in the way of a task he is doing. As a bonus, he is even able to use fire-themed weapons such as Molotov Cocktails and a Can of Stynx. In the enhanced version of the game, he is even able to turn his pee into fire!
  • In Potion Permit, Runeheart is a hotheaded redhead who's passionate about blacksmithing. She hates being compared to her mother Opalheart, a legendary blacksmith, and she cools off at the tavern by playing darts with Reyner.
  • Project × Zone: Mii Koryuji gets riled up by pretty much everyone. She also kicks lots of ass and is a cheerleader straight out of high school with green eyes.
  • Queen at Arms: Captain Lorimette is a regal and dignified Lady of War — but she's also very much this when her buttons are pressed.
  • RosenkreuzStilette presents to us Zorne Sepperin, who's a short-tempered, impulsive, and moody little girl with love affections towards Graf Michael Sepperin (whom she regards as her father despite the absence of blood ties) and a knack for creating and throwing bombs a la Bomberman.
  • Rune Factory 4: Doug is a hot-tempered, red-headed dwarf. But he's also capable of being cool and calculating, as his plot to get revenge on Ventuswill shows.
  • Sacred: The red-headed Gladiator is the Big Guy among playable characters and a specialized mêlée fighter. According to the lines he occasionally shoots when fighting, he is also very enthusiastic to fight and kill.
  • Sonic the Hedgehog series gives us Knuckles the Echidna, whose temper is just as fierce as his punches.
  • Soul Series: Hildegard von Krone is a badass German Warrior Princess with red hair and... a graceful, thoughtful and level-headed attitude. But she does get quite hammy in battles.
  • The Spellcasting Series: Ursula Unquenchablefire, the Amazon leader. Apparently quite the warrior and leader, but not real big on foreplay.
  • Star Wars: The Old Republic: Shae Vizla, a.k.a. Torch, is a Hot-Blooded Mandalorian bounty hunter who fights the Player Character in a flaming arena the first time they meet. Her combat prowess and tactical ability eventually led to her being named the next Mandalore and leading the clans.
  • Suguri's Acceleration of Suguri: Kae is a redhead, an energetic and cheerful girl who loves fighting, and has fire powers, although she prefers melee combat, interestingly contrasting with Kyoko, a blue-haired girl who is calmer and more composite, has ice powers, and prefers to stay at the defensive.
  • Super Robot Wars Judgment: Among the three main subpilots, Festenia "Tenia" Muse is the most Hot-Blooded, passionate and outspoken, and has red hair to match her personality. This also translates into the gameplay, since she focuses on increasing the mech's power and damage output, and her finishers tend to be rapid, unending barrages of close-range attacks.
  • Despite her starting position as a simple healer, Sybil from Symphony of War has a hot temper and a lust for action. It feels far more fitting when she becomes a paladin after completing a sidequest later in the game.
  • Tales of the Abyss: Asch is rude, crude, and liable to shout at everyone Except Natalia. He has his reasons, such as a clone replacing him and his family leaving him for dead because of it.
  • Temtem: Murdag is a Hot-Blooded Brave Scot who's the Melee-type Dojo Master of the island of Arbury.
  • Twisted Wonderland: Riddle Rosehearts is the redheaded leader of the Heartslabyul dorm who is very quick to anger, often caused whenever someone breaks one of the dorms many rules. He mellows a little after the events of Chapter 1, though his fiery temper still remains.
  • In Undertale, the captain of the Royal Guard Undyne first appears as a cold-blooded mercenary, then she drops her helmet and reveals her passionate side to the player, especially her taste for "human history" (which happens to be anime and manga which are presented as such in the monster world).
