The premise is simple: Twilight screws up a teleportation spell, and ends up teleporting her and the rest of the Mane Six right above the Drowned Girl spring, so they all fall in and are cursed to change into human women on contact with cold water. Ranma and Genma arrive the same day, and get cursed as per canon. They soon meet the Mane Six, and Twilight agrees to help them cure the curse in exchange for helping them adjust to this new world.
Naturally, Hilarity Ensues.

- Deal with the Devil:
- In Chapter 52, Discord approaches Tsukiko with a deal to giver her more power, complete with a signed contract. Why did he use a contract? He'd always wanted to do that.
- During the Moxibustion arc, Discord shows up twice to make a deal to help Ranma. Rainbow Dash makes him Pinkie Promise not to accept any of those deals.
- Genma accepts a deal with Loofah and Discord to get rid of the ponies.
- Didn't Think This Through: The Rival Brigade challenges the Mane Cast (minus Chiyo) to a Cosplay Race. Tsukiko didn't know Momo was an Otaku, though. Discord did something similar when he created the Discorded copies; he didn't know the baddass levels the Mane Six had gotten.
- Distinction Without a Difference: Momo on her fight with Azusa at the Anything Goes Martial Arts Take Out Race: "I wasn't throwing cake at her, I was assaulting her with cake."
- Early-Bird Cameo:
- Seito is added to the director's cut in chapter 10. He and Tsukiko appear in the recut's chapter 16.
- During the Martial Arts Marathon, Lum, Ataru, Inuyasha, and Kagome cameo. The UY and Inuyasha casts eventually get their own chapters.
- Easy Amnesia: Happens to Ranma during the "Am I Pretty" chapter. Momo says to hit him with a rock..which of course works.
- Epic Fail: Gosunkugi's attempt to kidnap Akane during the crazy Romeo and Juliet production. Emi and Shou call it for what it is.
- Enemy Mine: Invoked by Pinkie when Discord , of all beings,allies with them. Then again, he did create the threat in the first place...
- Happosai is on Seito's side during Discord's memory altering game..just so he can get the girls all back in one house to ogle them.
- Even Evil Has Standards: Discord may be the Spirit of Disharmony, but even he finds Mami's death scene in Puella Magi Madoka Magica disturbing. It's why he stole the Madoka film strip.
- Exact Words: Madame St.Paul uses this to force Momo to have to eat meat during the dinner party. Lampshaded right thereafter.
- Expy: Hikaru's rival Tsukiko is apparently based on Twilight's Shadow Archetype Trixie. Pinkie even lampshades it.
- Fake Memories: Thanks to Discord, in chapter 112, everyone's memories are altered to be closer to Ranma 1/2 canon, including the ponies (minus Luna) as part of a deal Genma had with him to get the ponies out of the way. Luckily, Ryoga was lost at the time, so he wasn't affected.
- Fake-Out Opening:
- Chapter 30 opens with Shampoo distraught over killing Ranma while Brainwashed, which turns out to be just a dream.
- Chapter 105 does a similar trick as Chapter 30.
- Failures on Ice: Ranma and Ryoga's first attempt at ice skating is...spectacular, and not in a good way.
- Felony Misdemeanor: Principal Kuno's buzz cut policy angers Belle due to it being a crime against fabulosity, making her lead the charge against him.
- For Want Of A Nail:
- The Mane Six's presence changes plenty of things. See Naked First Impression for a major example.
- Loofah is a direct result of this, she went after Ranma because Shampoo didn't give him the kiss of death.
- Fourth-Wall Observer: Pinkie Pie, as usual.

- The CMC's Killer Robot has one for some reason, even though none of them can remember adding one to it.
- Certain portions of the cosplay race have lasers that only vaporize clothing. Nautrally lampshaded.
- Forced to Watch: In order to keep him from attempting to rescue Momo during the big dinner party in Chapter 105, Emi does this to Shou, forcing him to watch the 4Kids version of One Piece.

- Improbable Weapon User:
- Once again, Pinkie Pie, who while the gang is trying to defeat a memory wiped Shampoo attacks her with a fish ("Don't worry, it's fake!").
- The Anything-Goes Rhythmic Gymnastics match starts off using typical implements, clubs, ribbons, balls and hoops, but by the end such things as bells, tables, hot kettles, pandas and older brothers are being used as weapons.
- In Spite of a Nail: "Hearts and Hooves Day" happened before the CMC landed on Earth.
- Despite the faked memories, Discord and co. didn't change Belle leading the charge against Principal Kuno, Belle fixiing Akane's hair, and Kasumi and Dr.Tofu are still together.
- Interspecies Romance: Fluttershy and Ryoga are the main ones. Twilight and Seito and Pinkie and Shou to a lesser extent.
- Intrigued by Humanity: Lyra becomes this during chapter 76.
- Involuntary Shapeshifting: Pretty much every Jusenkyo curse.
- Thanks to Queen Cosmos, in chapter 95, the Mane 6 end up switching randomly.
- The next chapter, the entire Mahokaze clan is ponified by Queen Cosmos as the beginning of her plan.
- I Owe You My Life: Ranma has this for Twilight saving him from the Kiss of Death.
- It's All About Me: Tsukiko's basic schtick.
- Just Between You and Me: Twilight tries to make Queen Cosmos do this, but it fails.
- Killer Robot: SOMEHOW, The CMC make one in chapter 78.
- Lampshade Hanging: Plenty. One good example is Pinkie trying to use old anime training methods to help Ran, who mentions that she reads too much manga.
- Lethal Chef: Akane and Sweetie Belle. The former is more of her needing to check the labels. Pinkie sings a song about that.
- Like Brother and Sister: Pinkie and Ranma's relationship.
- Loophole Abuse: Discord tries to invoke this to keep Rainbow Dash from using the Sonic Rainboom in chapter 114 to help remind her friends of their real memories, but Rainbow Dash counters with some of her own. The same thing happens when Cologne shows Shampoo the Heaven and Earth Solution rule, as Discord forgot to make not using that a rule.
- Love at First Sight: Apparently the case with Chiyo/Fluttershy and Ryoga.
- Meaningful Name: The ponies' human names are all meaningful:
- Hikaru Hakumei/Twilight Sparkle: One of Hikaru's meanings is "sparkle", and Hakumei means "twilight".
- Ran Issanni/Rainbow Dash: A pun on the word "ran", and Issanni means "at top speed".
- Momo Mochi/Pinkie Pie: Momo is derived from momoiro, which means "pink", and Mochi is a Japanese sweet.
- Chiyo/Fluttershy: Chiyo means "butterfly", and Onbin means "gentle".
- Belle Perle/Rarity: Belle is based on Rarity's Fanon last name, and Perle is French for "jewel".
- Alex Jackson/Applejack: Speaks for itself.
- Princess Luna/Diana: Diana is the name of one of the Goddesses of the Moon. As for Tsukino, it's a Sailor Moon allusion.

- A similar situation to the first example occurs in chapter 111, as Genma accepts an alliance with Loofah and Discord to get rid of the ponies.
- Motor Mouth: Momo's is weaponized on more than one occassion.
- My God, What Have I Done?: Cosmos realizes this as the Elements hit her.
- Mythology Gag: During chapter 45, Momo has come to believe that the vice principal knows about the Spring of Drowned Man and wants to use it for evil purposes. This is a nod to the recent live action Ranma movie, where the villain is the vice principal.
- Naked First Impression: Akane is again the one on the receiving end, but instead of Ranma-kun, it's Ryoga and Fluttershy she sees in the tub.
- No-Holds-Barred Beatdown: Principal Kuno gets whooped by every named Furinkan student in chapter 69.
- Happosai gets one at the end of chapter 75.
- Just about every time Discord brainwashes one of the Nerima Wrecking Crew, he ends up doing it during one of these, each one worse than the last.
- Noodle Incident:
- Something that happened to Twilight involving hamsters in chapter 71.
- How Asuza got banned from Disney Stores, as mentioned in chapter 78.
- No Ontological Inertia: Those Queen Cosmos ponified are returned to normal when she's beaten.
- No Sense of Direction: Ryoga, (of course); however thanks to this being in the present, he's now an internet celebrity because of it.
- Odd Friendship: Picolet and Momo develop one over the course of his arc.
- Otaku: Shou and Emi. Also, Pinkie becomes one too.
- Painful Transformation: Tsukiko's slow transformation into a unicorn.
- Polyamory: Thanks to an ancient Amazon law called The Heaven and Earth Solution, Ranma has this. Doesn't mean he still doesn't have problems.
- Pretty Boy: Tsubasa post-Rarity makeover. Cue fangirls chasing him all over the place the rest of chapter 84.
- "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Belle delivers one to Kuno early on, unfortunately since it's Kuno he doesn't listen to it.
- Ring Out: The way to win a Martial Art Rhythmic Gymnastics match. Kodachi had goons to move the ring under her, but they got whooped.
- The Rival: Azusa and Kodachi become these to Momo and Belle, respectively. Original characters are Ran, Hikaru, and Alex's rivals.
- Rival Team-Up: Tsukiko unites the rivals in chapter 67; however, Ryoko(Rainbow's rival) is the mole of the group.
- Rouge Angles of Satin: The fic has these, but beneath them, readers have still enjoyed it. The Recut gets rid of many of the grammar errors.
- Rabbit Season Duck Season: Haruka pulls this on the bully.
- Running Gag: Pinkie breaking the fourth wall, Ranma being hailed as a god among men, Genma getting his ass kicked...plenty to go around.
- Screw This, I'm Outta Here: When Discord returns from a vacation, right in the middle of Akane and Nabiki feuding, he runs for it.
- Secret Art: Magic is this to the Mahoukaze clan, which is why it bugs Tsukiko so much that Twilight can use it.
- Send in the Clones:
- Discord creates these on the Mane Six as his first trick. He didn't know the Mane Six took some badass levels, though.
- Done again in Chapter 63, only they're Opposite Sex Clones. They have free will, though, and rebel, but are taken out.
- Discord tries this AGAIN, creating one "superclone." Queen Cosmos, said clone, stabs him in the back, though.
- Discord does this AGAIN in ch.115, as he recreates the Mane Six's clones, along with clones of Ryoga, Ranma, and Shampoo with fake memories based on the fake memories trick Discord pulled as Discord's last gambit to stop them from restoring Akane's memories.
- Shared Universe: Both the cast of Urusei Yatsura and Inuyasha have appeared meaning that it's more of a Rumiko Takahashi-verse rather than a pure Ranma-Verse.
- Shipper on Deck: Rarity wants to see Chiyo hook up with Ryoga.
- Shout-Out: Due to many factors there's a shout out at least once a chapter. Here's a few:
- Chapter 1: "Hey, it's a Kung Fu Panda!"
- Chapter 2: When Twilight introduces herself to the Tendos, the book of the same name is mentioned. From her tone, she hates it as much as many of us do.
- Chapter 3: Akane channels Boomstick when she asks how Rainbow Dash could learn karate let alone master it.
- Chapter 5: Pinkie Pie has nightmares involving killing ponies and turning them into cupcakes.
- Chapter 9: Momo buys Chopper's hat at a store.
- Chapter 10: The "Kuno is a Dope" T-shirt selling out in five minutes is a nod to a similar Simpsons gag.
- In the recut, Emi pulls out a Bat Credit Card. Shou has the expected reaction.
- Chapter 12: During the Martial Arts Marathon, Ryoko's fans sing a version of the Sonic the Hedgehog (SatAM) theme song. In the recut, Shou lampshades this.
- Chapter 16: When Belle grabs Pig-Ryoga and Kodachi grabs Kuno, Shou plays the Pokémon battle theme. The text even does a Pokémon-style description.
- When discussing what weapons are valid, Momo asks if a steam roller is allowed, as a reference to another Ranma ½ fanfic.
- Momo wonders if Kodachi would grab onto Belle's hair and force her to cut it, in reference to when Sakura cuts her hair in Naruto.
- Momo uses a variation of Mikuru's catchphrase as one point during the commentary.
- Chapter 19: When Momo gets mad during the skating match, Shou plays Rage Awakened.

- Spotting the Thread: How Ranma and Twilight manage to shake off the fake memories Discord gave them when they see Princess Luna in her normal form.
- The Stations of the Canon: Some of Ranma 1/2's stations are there, but what happens is different. The intros of Shampoo and Ryoga don't occur as per canon, since they follow Ranma and co. from the beginning. And as Naked First Impression shows, no P-chan disguise for Ryoga this time, so whenever he's in pig form he's just known as "Piggy-Ryoga".
- Suspiciously Specific Denial: At the Anything-Goes Martial Arts Rhythmic Gymnastics tournament, Momo most defintiely did not see a unicorn and naked guy after Kodachi threw hot water at them.Hana: That's...oddly specific.
- Take a Third Option: When writing Chapter 43, Emma was wanting to write an ending where Akane and Sweetie Belle working together could make something eatable, but she also really wanted to write a scene where they create an Eldritch Abomination which Luna would fight... She decided to do both, with the fight being a story Pinkie was telling.
- In universe example: Emi wasn't sure if she should dress up like Human!Yuki or Otaku!Yuki from Haruhi Suzumiya, but then she remembered that in the Haruhi-chan manga there was a chapter featuring Human-Otaku!Yuki so that's what she dressed up like.
- Talking with Signs: Genma, as per canon. Ryoga also gets into it.
- Tempting Fate:
- Momo says "It's not like Discord's here"....And he appears.
- When Belle says she doesn't think Kodachi'd attack her...And cue Kodachi.
- Hikaru does this in chapter 111 with the classic line "what can go wrong?"
- The Tape Knew You Would Say That: Happens to Shining Armor in chapter 101, with the "tape" being letters from Twilight.
- This Is Gonna Suck: Miki, Ryoko, and Asuza think this when Tsukiko decides to confront Queen Cosmos. They're right.

- Why Ranma doesn't ask for help in getting the Moxibustion chart from the Mane Cast; his pride demands he do it on his own.
- A more comedic version occurs during chapter 111, as Ranma has to take a female panda on a date. It Makes Sense in Context.
- Those Two Guys: Emi and Shou, the two Otakus, are this, usually deadpan snarking.
- Throwing Down the Gauntlet: Pretty much how each of the OC rivals, and Azusa, is introduced.
- Too Spicy for Yog-Sothoth: Tomobiki is too chaotic for Discord , reducing him to baby-style thumb sucking.
- Translation Convention: Equestria's language allows instant translation.
- Took a Level in Badass: All of the Mane Six (Rainbow Dash happened to take several levels at once).
- Took a Level in Kindness: Thanks to Fluttershy, Ryoga has forgiven Ranma, and is his best friend.
- Troll: Lampshaded; Shou and Emi play trolls during chapter 44 in the grand tradition of Statler and Waldorf. They're even in a balcony to complete the tribute.
- Turned Against Their Masters: The robot the CMC make. As soon as they turn it on, it tries to kill them.
