     In general
  • Canon Immigrant: Agon, Zedus, Jiger, Barugon and Buraki. Agon is from the Nippon TV kaiju miniseries Agon, Zedus, Jiger and Barugon all hail from Daiei/Kadokawa Studios, and Buraki is from Dragon Wars.
  • The Starscream: Agon, Megaguirus, Zedus and Buraki. Agon, Megaguirus and Zedus have regularly tried to usurp Xenilla, and Buraki is on par with most of his cohorts, but it's moreso as he dreams of ascending to god-hood, which would give him a definite edge in combat against Xenilla.
     Xenilla

Xenilla (a.k.a Spacegodzilla)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/b93e4f6f68def76badae00b11f52284b.png
"Did you really take me as a fool, Icka'brod?"
Equestrian Form: Unicorn

  • Adaptation Name Change: He's called "Xenilla" due to the author not liking the name "Spacegodzilla" and also not wanting to confuse newcomers to the G-fandom by using a character with a name that was just another character's name with an adjective.
  • Affectionate Nickname: "Xen" by Blade Dancer.
  • Agent Mulder: As soon as he knows for sure a powerful dark magic user is at large in the Crystal Empire, he doesn't buy it for a minute that King Sombra is gone.
  • Ambiguously Evil: Xenilla is an odd card to read. On one hand he had no qualms about destroying half a human city in his first outing and nearly killed Godzilla Senior twice. On the other hand he's not Chaotic Evil or needlessly destructive, having spared both Fluttershy and the toddler aged Godzilla Junior both times he first met them. The fact that he actually saved Junior's life in Final Wars brings even more questions to his motives. Turns out he actually is good deep down.
  • Asskicking Leads to Leadership: Mutations follow the strongest and Xenilla was far too powerful for any of them to challenge 1v1 and win against. If they ever tried to gang up on him, Destroyah would assist him. While Destroyah is powerful enough to challenge him, she's uninterested in being a ruler. We later see this played full force in a nine on one battle against most of the other Mutations, with Xenilla laying a massive smackdown on those challenging him.
  • The Atoner: After the truth was revealed, Xenilla has expressed nothing but guilt about his former actions and a willingness to do anything he can to atone for his previous crimes.
  • A Tragedy of Impulsiveness: He saw Mothra's memories of Bagan's original rampage a very short time after he was born. He assumes this was a prophecy of Terra's destruction by something and instantly flies to Terra the moment he figures out how to in order to kill the one who'd destroy it. While it's understandable (as he was quite literally just born when he saw it), doing this is the main reason his brother ended up hating him and he ended up playing the villain role for Terra.
  • Batman Can Breathe in Space: He can fly through space unaided and does not require oxygen.
  • Big Brother Instinct: It's heavily implied the fear he experiences from Sombra's spell is Junior dying and Xenilla panicking to revive him. It's further supported when Blade Dancer finds him frantically running war game simulations with the kaiju factions. Whenever a piece implied to represent Godzilla Junior fell, Xenilla grew more and more frantic, reset the board, and tried again to save it. When he awakens to discover Junior is facing Grand King Ghidorah alone, he desperately tries to find someone to transform him back to his true form to come to his aid.
  • Break the Haughty: Sombra's nightmare vision ability leaves Xenilla an utter wreck, even after the battle. He proceeds to lock himself in his room for several days, and spends that entire time fiddling with a board and colored crystal pieces. It's implied that he's using them to run simulations of endgame kaiju war scenarios, trying to find a situation where Junior doesn't end up dying in battle.
  • Breath Weapon: A coronal flare equal in power to Godzilla's beam. While his profile notes that it's overall weaker than Godzilla's thermonuclear beam it makes up for it with greater piercing power and the ability to direct it with telekinesis. He can still use it as a pony. He manages to use the Spiral Fire Ray during the Final Battle with Grand King Ghidorah.
  • Clones Are People, Too: Xenilla is a heavily, heavily modified clone of Godzilla Senior. However due to having his own personality and unique mutation that differs him from Senior, he considers himself the late Senior's eldest son rather than his copy. He also displays this attitude to fellow altered clone Biollante, considering her his sister.
  • Crazy Jealous Guy: As Xenilla becomes closer to Blade Dancer, he starts to get jealous whenever he hears about Blade Dancer flirting with his brother or when Blade Dancer mentions a previous lover like Cached Ire. When Junior makes a joke about Blade Dancer sneaking into his bed, Xenilla doesn’t take it well and reacts with extreme jealousy while Blade Dancer is embarrassed.
  • Energy Absorption: Like Junior, he gathers strength from sources of radiation like sunlight. He also draws power from nearby crystals.
  • Evil Counterpart: He has mostly the same powers as Junior, but he wants to conquer Terra instead of protecting its inhabitants. He has his own evil counterpart in King Sombra.
  • Evil Virtues: He's a jerk, but at least he's honest and keeps his word.
  • Family Theme Naming: Word of God when asked if the kaiju had human sounding names, both Junior and Xenilla have a first name that start with D; Darius and Damien respectively.
  • The Farmer and the Viper: Attempts this after Fluttershy helps him when he first arrives. He reconsiders after she uses the Stare to stop him in his tracks due to not knowing what Equestrians are capable of.
  • Flying Brick: Can fly via psychic levitation and is both extremely durable and having a Healing Factor.
  • From a Single Cell: His origin story. When Mothra Lea's mother flew into space to deflect a meteor, she inadvertently brought some of Godzilla Senior's cells into space. These cells then merged with a crystalline entity and after absorbing the energy of a dying star, started dividing until they formed Xenilla, a mutated clone of Senior who considers himself Senior's son.
  • Gemstone Assault: He can create and control constructs of crystal. In particular, he can rapidly generate large amounts of quartz crystals.
  • Genetic Memory: He sees Godzilla Senior's memories in the form of dreams and visions. Since Mothra Lea's mother's magic helped create him, he also has the memories of the Mothra line, but these are harder to access and he didn't know what they were.
  • Genius Bruiser: Xenilla is incredibly strong and definitely knows how to throw his weight around, as shown in him being very capable of physically overpowering the likes of King Sombra. However, he's also a great deal more cerebral than his contemporaries. He regularly displays levels of craftiness, foresight, wit, and knowledge that are only rarely seen in other kaiju. It's very apparent that his keen mind is what allowed him to become the sole ruler of roughly half of Earth's Kaiju. He also knows how to read and has apparently hacked Terra's Internet in the past.
  • Giant Flyer: Via levitation.
  • Good All Along: As it turns out, he doesn't bear Junior any ill will at all, and he doesn't want to conquer Terra. On the contrary, all of his actions have been for the sake of defending Junior and the planet. By gathering the Mutations under his rule, he's able to keep them in line and make sure that they don't go on unchecked destructive rampages. By battling the Terran Defenders, he's able to serve as a constant antagonistic force that motivates Junior and the other Defenders to grow stronger and defend Earth more effectively. Even attacking Senior was a case of mistaken identity.
  • Hates Being Alone: While only temporary, when he's bordering on depression and mental breakdown, he requests Blade Dancer stay with him so he wouldn't be alone. Having been trying to get through to him over the past few days, she agrees and Xenilla finally is able to calm down.
  • Having a Blast: Identical, albeit red colored version of Godzilla's Nuclear Pulse. Its strength is equal, however Word of God in his Bio says he's not as skilled at using it.
  • Healing Factor: Identical to Godzilla's and just as effective. Still hurts a lot though.
  • Healing Hands: Xenilla can create a variety of specially charged “surge” crystals with special properties. Among them, he can use them to rapidly stimulate cell division and heal wounds. However, they only work on the living and won’t work on the deceased, as we see in Sombra’s fear induced vision.
  • Heroic Bastard: Because of his origin story, he's technically Godzilla Senior and Mothra Lea's mother's son, and those two were definitely not married. While kind of a jerk, he is Good All Along.
  • Hidden Depths:
    • Despite acting callous and smug often, his intelligence shows when he reveals he knows quite a bit about emotions and even coins a fairly complex philosophical perspective on how certain sensations like love and hatred can control someone.
    • His worst nightmare, as given to him by King Sombra, is Godzilla Junior dying. For all their quarreling and Xenilla's hatred for their father, his worst fear is not being able to protect his little brother.
  • Hidden Heart of Gold: He was playing the villain both to lessen the damage the Mutations could cause and to help Junior become stronger, he actually genuinely cares about Junior greatly and had no intentions of conquering Earth.
  • Home Field Advantage: The Crystal Empire is the perfect home for him since he draws strength from crystals and he can sense others through them.
  • I Hate Past Me: Calls his past self prior to his change of heart a jerk and a moron while talking to Blade Dancer.
  • Instant Expert: After learning of a unicorn's capabilities, it only takes him a short practice session to master unicorn-based telekinesis.
  • Jerkass Has a Point:
    • Godzilla Junior refuses to call him brother because they don't share any blood, but he points out Junior doesn't share any blood with Godzilla Senior either since Junior was adopted.
    • He does make a good point that Equestria's love of Princesses Rule makes no sense, especially with a Princess (Cadance) ruling an Empire. He refuses to let this slide and constantly refers to "Princess Cadance" as "Empress Cadenza" no matter how much he's told otherwise.
  • Large and in Charge: Actually averted despite both of Xenilla's forms being enormous. His subordinate, Destroyah, towers over him in both forms.
  • Love at First Punch: A delayed reaction, in Tarbtano's own words. Xenilla and Blade Dancer's first serious conversation ended with Blade Dancer punching him in the face for insulting love, which is an emotion she takes seriously. This act earns her Xenilla's respect, which leads to a close friendship and a physical attraction that causes Blade Dancer to fall in love for Xenilla a few days later once she discovers his hidden compassion. A sentiment that Xenilla is starting to reciprocate given how his blush is brighter than in Blade Dancer
  • Love Is a Weakness: Unlike Junior, he understands romance and even acknowledges The Power of Love as a great force. However, he states that feeling love for someone or something else drives one's actions, and he will not fall into that trap. He grows out of it thanks to Blade Dancer and embracing the Power of Love is a major reason he and Junior are able to kill King Ghidorah.
Xenilla: "I am a slave to no emotion... I have never felt a single romantic feeling in my life and never intend to..."
  • Luminescent Blush: He and Blade Dancer share this when a store clerk mistakes them for a pregnant couple looking for supplies to assist childbirth.
  • Man of Kryptonite: According to Word of God, he would be this to Godzilla Earth. Being able to manipulate and weaponize EMPs, he would be able to exploit Earth's weakness to them and fight him far more effectively. It's like had he and Junior been fighting Earth, the two wouldn't have needed help to kill him.
  • Meaningful Name: While posing as a foreign ambassador, part of his name is Damien. It serves a double meaning, be making a reference to how Xenilla isn't obviously evil but still incredibly dangerous; as well as the name's original meaning. Damien means he who subdues, typically evil, which is exactly what Xenilla is trying to do when he drops the name while fighting King Sombra. He also says Sombra can call him Mordred if he wants. Mordred rebelled against his father King Arthur, just as Xenilla battled against Godzilla Senior.
  • A Mind Is a Terrible Thing to Read: When Mothra Lea tries to read his mind, she sees the massacre Bagan did against the Mothra and Battra population and falls into screaming convulsions.
  • Mind over Matter: Interestingly, a distinction is made between his innate psychic-based telekinesis and magic-based unicorn telekinesis. He has no problem using the former in pony form, and eventually learns to do the latter. Using both at once affords him more power than using either one alone. As his psychic telekinesis isn't magic based, it can catch the petrifying grenades Tempest uses, as they're designed to break on contact with magic.
  • My God, What Have I Done?:
    • Has this reaction when he finds out all those years ago, he had attacked his father over nothing. What he thought was a vision of the future depicting Godzilla Senior destroying the world, was a vision of the past depicting Bagan's original rampage.
    • He's filled with regret when he sees all of Godzilla Junior's scars and realizes he's partially responsible for that.
  • Not Afraid to Die: When simulating the final Kaiju battle using board game pieces, he doesn't care when the piece representing him is "killed", only when the piece representing Junior is "killed". He later tells Princess Luna that now he doesn't care if Junior kills him, as long as someone else is around to help and protect him.
  • Not So Stoic: More aloof than stoic, but still.
    • All things considered, Xenilla is a very cool customer 99% of the time. However, when Sombra forces him to experience a vision of his worst nightmare... to say that Xen completely flies off the handle would be a pretty massive understatement.
    • On a tamer version, after getting hit with above mentioned dark magic, Xenilla forces himself into isolation. After several days he begins to crack into depression or frantic worry. When Blade Dancer forces her way into the chamber after Xenilla had a mental and physical outburst, she eventually gets him to stop shaking and calm down. Thinking Xenilla wants to be left alone again, she's surprised by him telekinetically lifting her up and placing her behind him, showing he didn't want to be left alone.
  • Oh, Crap!: Has one when Fluttershy uses The Stare on him. The fact it worked and he had no idea what it was is what convinced him to reconsider how he'd go about things in Equestria.
  • One Head Taller: As shown in this scene, Xenilla's height and weight is big enough that Blade Dancer, who is NOT a small mare by Equestrian standards, only reaches his neck and looks tiny in comparison.
  • Only Friend: Until he met Blade Dancer, his only true friend was Destroyah.
  • The Only One Allowed to Defeat You: Only he can defeat Junior.
  • Partial Transformation: More like 95% transformation, in this case into an alicorn-sized unicorn. But he still retains all his powers and his original horn.
  • Photographic Memory: He mentions he only needs to look over a book once to memorize it.
  • Power Floats: Tends to levitate around a lot. He's got the first half of the trope in spades.
  • Pragmatic Villainy: He tends not to engage in wanton murder and destruction, even if angered. Reason being that such "brutish" behavior wouldn't advance his goals, and would even prove to be detrimental to him. He also decides to kill King Sombra and protect Princess Cadance and her family, but mostly because he preferred a stable environment for his research and knew he wouldn't get one with a mad tyrant on the throne.
  • Psychic Radar: A Godzillasaurus has a "homing sense" that allows them to detect others of their kind. It was how he was able to find Terra after being born in deep space and then attack the island Godzilla Senior was raising Junior on.
  • Red Baron: Challenger/Usurper to the Throne; Protector of the Throne.
  • Red Right Hand: Like his brother, Xen's pony form also has a Sombra-esque nasal ridge. Played with a bit more, as his morality is more questionable than Goji's and he has a very prominent connection to crystals. He even ends up visiting the Crystal Empire and fights Sombra himself at one point.
  • Relationship Upgrade: He and Blade Dancer becomes a couple during the Hearth’s Warming Special. He gets a kiss and something more.., intimate as a present.
  • Releasing from the Promise: When Destroyah says she wants to stay in Equestria, he releases her from her life debt to him so she can.
  • Required Secondary Powers: Since he can survive in space, getting his airways clogged, like with dirt, doesn't affect him.
  • The Shadow Knows: At one point, his shadow changed to resemble his true form, shocking King Sombra.
  • Sherlock Scan: Able to put together a lot of details based off observation, such as the location of Aerenth crystals and vantage point of a marketplace to deduce that King Sombra was alive again and stalking Princess Cadance.
  • Spanner in the Works: If he hadn't been in the Crystal Empire, King Sombra's plan to assassinate Cadance would have gone off without a hitch.
  • Superior Successor: He is more powerful than his father. He can do everything Godzilla Senior could do, plus he can fly, use telekinesis, and control crystals.
  • Super-Senses: Able to detect anyone touching or near crystals he's touching. In the Crystal Empire, he could tell virtually were everypony was if he focused. It's implied this is how he knew Cadance was pregnant before she did, having "heard" Flurry Heart's little heart beat through her.
  • Super-Toughness: Can easily shrug off most attacks thrown at him and keep coming.
  • Thousand-Yard Stare: Sports this look, which shocked Blade Dancer, after Sombra forced him to see his greatest fear.
  • Troll: Insists on addressing Princess Cadance as "Empress" no matter how many times he's corrected. Gets to the point one can't tell if he's being stubborn or annoying on purpose.
  • Truly Single Parent: He created Obsidius and Krystalak with his crystal powers.
  • The Usurper: He wants to defeat Junior and claim his title of King of the Monsters. The humans nicknamed him the "Challenger to the Throne". It's a facade, as he only pretends to be Junior's enemy to force him to grow and become stronger. The battle at the beginning of the fic was actually an Uriah Gambit intended to get all the Mutations except him and Destroyah killed now that he no longer needed them for that purpose.
  • Villain Protagonist: Of the Crystal Empire arc, being prominent in most of the chapters taking place there, leading up to him taking on King Sombra.
  • Walking Wasteland: According to Mothra, his true form constantly emits radiation like Junior, but he doesn't do this as a pony.
  • You Have Outlived Your Usefulness: He reveals to Blade Dancer that the rest of the Mutations, except for Destroyah, were only pawns to constantly challenge the Defenders and make them stronger. After he determined that they were strong enough, he led them on the invasion of Solgell Island as a Uriah Gambit to get rid of them.

     Destroyah

Destroyah

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/69277a215bdb17f8fa410c390423a567.png
"I was born in death, do you really think you can kill me?!"
Equestrian Form: Pegasus

  • Accidental Hero: Saves the CMC from Timberwolves, but was more trying to kill the biggest threat in the area than caring about them, which at the time she didn't. It's clear she would have killed them too had she not passed out before she could.
  • Accidental Misnaming: The Cutie Mark Crusaders constantly botch pronouncing her name right. She becomes happy when Scootaloo finally says it correctly.
  • Achilles' Heel: Vulnerable to extreme cold and using her Wave-Motion Gun leaves her vulnerable weak spot open to attack in her Kaiju form. Temperature shock is a more serious one than just extreme cold, however, as it's what 'killed' her fighting Senior. Giranbo comes close to killing her exploiting this.
  • Axe-Crazy: Tempered a bit due to a crystal formula Xenilla gave her and the CMC becoming her Morality Pet.
  • Blood Knight: Before she accepted friendship with the CMC, fighting was the only time she felt happy.
  • Breath Weapon: She can fire a stream of Micro-Oxygen. She can still use it as a pony.
  • Brutal Honesty: Destroyah tends to be extremely blunt and honest about things.
  • Character Development: After almost fifteen chapters of interaction, Destroyah actually curbs her Axe-Crazy tenancies and behaves kindly to the CMC. By the time of the 2019 Halloween Special, it's to the point she nearly sacrifices her life to save them and has become far more genuinely heroic.
  • Dark Action Girl: Main bruiser of her group.
  • Defrosting Ice Queen: The CMC manage to start doing this after a long period of interaction. She doesn't seem to mind their company anymore and ultimately is willing to risk or even sacrifice her own life to protect them.
  • Determinator: When the Crusaders are abducted by Giranbo, she becomes this. No matter how grievously injured she gets, she just keeps pushing herself forwards trying to save them. This is a Plot Point, as this determination to save them allows her to control her components after splitting apart.
  • Does Not Know His Own Strength: While Xenilla is hospitalized, she gives him a friendly nudge that accidentally aggravates his broken ribs.
  • Don't Call Me "Sir": She hates being called a princess, since she thinks princesses are weak and delicate and does not want to be associated with that.
  • Evil Cannot Comprehend Good: She's not used to and is confused at feeling the peacefulness and happiness inherent in Equestria, having never felt such emotions much before. She is also baffled by the concept of destroying something for reasons other than fear, anger, or hatred, like demolishing an old building so you can put up a new one.
  • From a Single Cell: Her true form can do this, but often requires outside help to provide her with nourishment and energy. In fact, most of her original body except for a tiny bit was destroyed in her fight with Godzilla Senior. If Xenilla hadn't shown up and then provided that bit with food, she would have died. However, both she and the Crusaders realize this likely isn't the case with her pony form: while it's not impossible a new body could be regrown from a small amount of it, like with her ability to split apart, it would no longer be the same Destroyah.
  • Gender Flip: While Destoroyah is commonly assumed by the Godzilla fandom to be a male monster, the character itself ultimately falls into a particularly strong case of Ambiguous Gender because its design incorporates characteristics found on male and female crabs alike, specially in its final form, and Toho so far has not given a conclusive answer on Destoroyah's gender. This fanfic goes with the semi-popular interpretation of Destoroyah as a female.
  • Giant Flyer: Whether she's in Pony or Kaiju form, she's enormous.
  • Healing Factor: She has one, it's just far less straight forwards than Junior and Xenilla's. If she breaks down into her smaller forms and then reforms, she'll heal some damage. However, due to issues with controlling her separate forms, it's far less reliable. She manages to use it fighting Giranbo in her true form, as she now has the needed drive and motivation to assert her will due to being fighting to save the Crusaders.
  • Heel–Face Turn: Eventually the kindness and happiness she experiences in Equestria rubs off on her. She's not exactly jovial, but loses her sociopathy.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: Attempted: she distracts the kaiju sized Giranbo in her pony form to allow the Crusaders to escape her realm, knowing Giranbo will almost certainly kill her. Thankfully, the Crusaders figure this out and manage to return her to her kaiju form, allowing her to successfully kill Giranbo.
  • Hollywood Acid: She can produce Micro-Oxygen, which dissolves almost anything it touches.
  • I Choose to Stay: She eventually decides to stay in Equestria as a pony where she is happy. Xenilla gives her permission.
  • Intergenerational Friendship: Friendship is a huge stretch, but the Cutie Mark Crusaders are some of the only beings she tolerates being around without instantly trying to kill them.
  • I Owe You My Life: The reason why she teamed up with Xenilla and reluctantly follows his orders. Some time after her battle with Godzilla Senior, Xenilla found her remains and fed and energized her until she recovered.
  • The Juggernaut: Rushes forward with Anguirus and Rodan charging full speed right at her. Result? She grabs them and keeps moving forward through a brick wall. The author has even stated that the reason he only gave Xenilla Destroyah as his ally in Equestria was because she's already powerful enough on her own to equal Anguirus, Rodan and Mothra. Fittingly, her Nightmare Night costume is the T-800. Somewhat Subverted when it comes to her fight with Giranbo, who is dangerous enough to seriously injure her and requires more than just sheer brute force to defeat.
  • Laser Blade: Her horn can ignite into this. Works just as well at chopping up Timber Wolves as it does slashing Kaiju.
  • Mama Bear: Develops into this towards the Crusaders. When Giranbo threatens them she becomes very dead set on defeating the witch and saving them. This is to the point she nearly sacrifices herself to save them.
  • The Mind Is a Plaything of the Body: After splitting herself, her baby dopplegangers are simply babies while she retained her mind, but it is affected by the young body. With each baby she reabsorbs, she gets older, and she acts like a pony of that age.
  • More Deadly Than the Male: The reason she's so huge and powerful is because she's a mutated crustacean. In almost all arthropods, including crustaceans, females are larger and tougher than males.
  • Mundane Utility: The Apple family puts her to work clearing out weeds and pests, and demolishing old buildings, with her laser sword and Micro-Oxygen.
  • Never Given a Name: She didn't originally have a name and does not care. Xenilla just calls her Destroyah out of convenience and others do as well. However, considering how upset she gets when the Cutie Mark Crusaders don't pronounce it right, she's accepted Destroyah as her name.
  • No-Sell: Rainbow Dash and Rodan's race generates a massive sonic boom and wave of super heated air. While every other character has to take cover, she just stands there and it doesn't make her budge an inch except to shield Scootaloo with her body.
  • Not Afraid to Die:
    • At one point, she lectures Scootaloo by saying death and danger are universal facts of life, so it is pointless to be afraid. So far, the only times she has genuinely experienced fear was during her battle against Godzilla Senior, when one of her doppelgangers threatened to eat Scootaloo, and when Giranbo threatened the Crusaders' lives.
    • When she prepares to make a Heroic Sacrifice to allow the Crusaders to escape Giranbo's realm, she's genuinely not afraid of dying if it means her little friends live. The Crusaders had other ideas, however.
  • Not So Stoic: Thanks to the Crusaders, her generally stoic demeanor when not in battle does crack from time to time. She openly shows fear when she realizes the Crusaders are in danger from Giranbo. The Crusaders fully accepting her after seeing her true form for the first time and their resulting antics after she kills Giranbo sees her actually start laughing in her true form.
  • One to Million to One: In her true form, she can split into several younger versions of herself. Trying this in her pony form results in a bunch of baby ponies that she cannot control.
  • Only Friend: Until she met the Cutie Mark Crusaders, her only true friend was Xenilla.
  • Partial Transformation: Into a gigantic bat-winged pegasus mare, one a full head taller than Celestia. Notably, she retained her true form's horn, making both in-story characters and readers mistake her for an alicorn.
  • Predator Turned Protector: She's goes from wanting to hunt the Cutie Mark Crusaders to risking her life to protect them from Giranbo.
  • Red Baron: The Serizawan Legacy.
  • Required Secondary Powers:
    • Her Kaiju form is immune to the Micro-Oxygen she creates. Her pony form is not; she almost kills herself via scratched up digestive tract from trying to eat some Timber Wolves she dissolved with it. Her pony form also lacks the ability to communicate with and control her doppelgangers.
    • After Discord learned that Destroyah couldn't safely ingest micro-oxygen in pony form and read this page to find out why (yes, really), he fixed that problem by granting her the requisite abilities. Unfortunately she was divided into lots of uncontrollable babies at the time, so it was the parasprite situation all over again.
  • Restraining Bolt: Xenilla inserted a crystal in her that dials down her rage and blood lust. It later separates from her body, but she no longer needs it now that she truly accepted her friendship with the Cutie Mark Crusaders.
  • Ridiculously Cute Critter: The ponified swarm of juvenile and aggregate destroyah are all mischievous babies and a toddler.
  • Samus Is a Girl: The movie left Des's gender ambiguous. As such many readers were surprised when the fic portrayed her as female. Tarbtano explained his reasoning for this in a Q&A.
  • Secret-Keeper: She was the only character who knew Xenilla's true motivation and plans until he told Blade Dancer.
  • The Stoic: When she's not in a fight, she barely speaks and barely reacts to her surroundings. Even Rodan and Rainbow Dash's destructive race barely phased her.
  • Super-Strength: Even more so than the other kaiju-converts. She completely manhandled a Timber Wolf and a duo attack by Rodan and Anguirus. In her true form, she's able to easily throw the 59,000 ton Giranbo around like a rag doll, forcing the witch to largely rely on tricks and magic to gain the advantage.
  • Tiny Guy, Huge Girl: Xenilla and her when put to scale. Xenilla is enormous by himself, being slightly taller than Princess Luna in their new bodies. Destroyah towers over all of the current Equestrian characters, including Princess Celestia.
  • Undying Loyalty: Xenilla tells Blade Dancer that she is the only member of the Mutations who actually cares about him and willingly obeys him without having to be intimidated. She continued to follow him even after learning the truth that he never intended to win and it had all been a ploy to make Junior and his friends stronger.
  • Unwitting Instigator of Doom: The rampage by her out of control baby selves ended up destroying a ward that Ki Seong kept near her home with a stray shot, breaking a seal keeping Jeog at bay and allowing the Gumiho to attack Ponyville.
  • Wave-Motion Gun: Titled the trope name. Fires out from opened plates on her chest and is her ultimate attack.
  • "Well Done, Son" Guy: After defeating Giranbo and freeing the souls of her victims, the ghost of Dr. Daisuke Serizawa, who is basically her father as he made the Oxygen Destroyer that created her, appears and gives her his approval. She comments that she had never cared about him before, but his approval meant a lot to her. She starts to consider making Serizawa her last name.
  • What Is This Feeling?: She's touched when the Crusaders thought of her to pack a lunch for her...and has absolutely no idea what the warm feeling in her chest is, so she decides she hates it.
  • When She Smiles: While in the form of a filly roughly the same age as the CMC, she actually has a good time with them and gives them a real smile, which really affects them. She later gives one as an adult while enjoying her meal and new lease on life. She then gives one after Xenilla allows her to stay in Equestria, which affects him and causes him to remark he didn't think she was even capable of smiling.
  • Winged Unicorn: Actually, she's a horned Pegasus, but everypony thinks she's an Alicorn.
  • Would Hurt a Child: Would have killed and consumed the CMC after unknowingly saving them from Timberwolves had she not passed out before she could.
  • You Are Better Than You Think You Are: For the longest time, she thought she was nothing but a weapon. In Chapter 32, Xenilla assures her that she can be more than that, making her very happy.
  • Younger Than They Look: She looks and acts very mature, but she's actually only about 18 years old.

     Agon

Agon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/agon_by_pyrus_leonidas_d9as0hp.png

  • Breath Weapon: Releases streams of burning napalm from his mouth.
  • Butt-Monkey: Twice he makes an appearance, and twice he gets his rear handed to him: Once by Gabara and once by Raiga, with the latter scenario getting him killed.
  • Defiant to the End: When it becomes clear Raiga has him outmatched, he angrily roars and keeps attacking.
  • Evil Laugh: Does this while attacking Jakarta, Indonesia.
  • It Amused Me: Heavily implied he attacks cities and kills people for fun.
  • Red Baron: The Atomic Dragon.
  • Spikes of Villainy: Has large spikes sticking out of his shoulders and knees.
  • Stripped to the Bone: He's reduced to a skeleton by Raiga's final attack.

  • God Save Us from the Queen!: She considers herself a queen, and in her arrogance, after Xenilla and Destroyah were taken away by Dimension Tide, she refuses to join any of the Kaiju factions and instead leads her children in attacking anyone in her path.
  • Insect Queen: She is the mother of all the present Meganulon.
  • Legacy Character: She is the daughter of the original Megaguirus from Godzilla vs. Megaguirus.
  • Ludicrous Gibs: Her fate when she is shot with a railgun.
  • Not So Invincible After All: She long believed that nothing could ever harm her, until the humans prove her wrong.
  • The Starscream: Regularly tried to usurp Xenilla.
  • Super-Speed: She can fly at Mach 4.
  • This Cannot Be!: Her reaction when the humans start outmaneuvering her and actually damaging her.
  • Truly Single Parent: She apparently doesn't have any mate, yet is able to have children.
  • Villainous Legacy: Right before she is killed, it is heavily implied that she laid an egg containing a new queen, similar to what her mother did before Godzilla destroyed her.

     Obsidius

Obsidius

  • Feed It with Fire: He thrives on heat, and can get stronger from absorbing magma or a nuke's explosion.
  • Heel–Face Turn: Titanosaurus giving him the love and affection he desperately needed was all it took for him to switch sides.

  • Hulk Speak: He talks like this: "Was made to fight. Kill. Will kill for friends. Tell friends move away."
  • Magma Man: He's a mass of sentient lava.
  • Parental Neglect: Xenilla barely interacted with him and just treated him as a weapon.
  • Person of Mass Destruction: At his strongest, he can control volcanic eruptions and manipulate the lava.
  • Tyke Bomb: He's at his core an innocent child created as a living weapon.

    Dagahra

Dagahra

  • Flying Seafood Special: Is primarily an aquatic monster, but is capable of flight.
  • Gone Horribly Wrong: Is noted to be malfunctioning creation of the same time period as the Guardian Beasts, similar to the Gyaos.
  • Hoist by His Own Petard: King Ceasar defeats him by reflecting his own attack back at him.
  • Small Role, Big Impact: Only appears in the timeline and during one or two chapters (mainly because he's not among Bagan's forces), but is very important to the overall plot on account of having attacked Okinawa in ancient times, resulting in the creation of King Ceasar. His battle with Mothra Lea is also the reason that Godzilla Jr. woke up after being regenerated by Senior's death, resulting in him teaming up with Lea to drive off Grand King Ghidorah.
  • Spared by the Adaptation: Was killed in Rebirth of Mothra 2, but managed to escape after Lea kicked his tail.

    Zedus

Zedus

  • Butt-Monkey: Nothing goes right for him and he keeps getting buried in a crater.
  • Dreaming of Things to Come: He claims he dreamed of a certain artifact in the desert that can increase powers.
  • Know When to Fold 'Em: At first, he claims he would rather die than surrender, but when he is surrounded by Baragon, three Jaegers, and Jiger and Barugon, who turned on him, he grudgingly agrees to join the Defenders to avoid getting killed.
  • Overly-Long Tongue: His tongue can extend like a chameleon and has a spear-like tip.
  • Small Name, Big Ego: He believes he can succeed Xenilla. While relatively powerful, he gets his ass kicked by Baragon and Jaegers, he was only able to get Jiger and Bar'ugun to follow him, and it becomes clear he doesn't really know what he is doing.
  • The Social Darwinist: He believes in the strong making all the rules and killing those who are weak.

    Jiger

Jiger

  • Anti-Villain: Joined the Mutations in an effort to survive.
  • Beware My Stinger Tail: Has a long and strong tail with a sharp point.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Can't help but snark at Zedus' incompetence.
  • Disintegrator Ray: Can fire a heat blast that destroys lesser objects and beings, though tough Kaiju and mechas can tank it with some damage.
  • Heel–Face Turn: Defects to the Defenders once Baragon points out if she does, humans and Defenders will stop attacking her and she will have a home.
  • Spike Shooter: She can fire her quills, but when they run out, she has to wait until they grow back before she can do it again.
  • Villainous Friendship: She genuinely cares for Barugon.

    Barugon

Barugon

     King Buraki
