Teens

     Luna Valente/Sol Benson

Luna Valente/Sol Benson

Played by: Karol Sevilla

Luna is a sweet and fun teenager who must adjust to a new life. She is very entrepreneurial and never gives up, no matter how adverse the circumstances. She is simple, authentic, and uninhibited. She is good-hearted, she is also distracted. Her absentmindedness gets her in trouble, but she always has a big smile and is willing to make amends for her mistakes. Her passion is skating, and thanks to her talent, determination and humility, she will achieve everything she wants to be in life.

  • The Ace: Not only is she a good skater, but also a great singer.
  • Betty and Veronica: She serves as the Betty to Ámbar, Fernanda and Emilia's Veronica for Matteo, the Archie. With Simón (another Archie), she was the Betty to Daniela and Ámbar's Veronica.
  • But Not Too Foreign: Luna's deceased biological parents are Argentine, but she was adopted and raised by Mónica and Miguel who are Mexican.
  • Dude Magnet: Simón, Matteo, Sebastián Villalobos and Michel were all attracted to Luna.
  • Hypocrite Has a Point: By the course of season 2 and even in season 3 when she went too far by refusing to listen to him when he tried to show the evidence that he rejected Emilia, Luna at times behaved very selfish and whimsical, but she was absolutely right to call Matteo out for his own selfish behavior.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: After she watches the proof video about Emilia and Matteo, Luna finally realizes that Matteo was telling her the truth and blames herself for not listening to him before.
  • Nice Girl: Her absent-minded personality doesn't stop her from being kind to all the other characters. However, this is zig-zagged when seasons 2 and 3 sometimes make her a little mean and selfish.
  • No Listening Skills: When Matteo tries to tell her why he lied at the start of season two, the truths behind the post of him and Camilla together, and why he and Emilia kissed, Luna ignores it, accusing him of being a bad boyfriend and cheating on her and tells him to go away, rather than hearing him out. When she learns Simon hid the fact Amber changed Felipe's contact, when he tried to explain why he did it, Luna ignores it, accusing him of betraying her and pushes him away rather than hearing him out.
  • Secret-Keeper: Luna is the first to find out that Nina is FelicityForNow, but she makes her promise that not to tell anyone, at least until she's ready. However, things get complicated for Luna when everyone else finds out that she knows her identity and keep pressuring her to reveal it. Thanks a lot, Tino.
  • Took a Level in Jerkass: As mentioned above, she becomes mean, selfish and whimsical during the course of seasons 2 and 3, particularly towards Matteo, but in season 3 Luna goes very over the top when she won't let Matteo explain the truth about Emilia kissing him or yelling at Simón for "betraying" her due to him giving Ámbar a chance to come clean to Luna about changing Felipe Mendevilla's contact. However, she eventually calms down as season 3 is about to reach its end.
  • What the Hell, Hero?:
    • For most of Season 2, she gives plenty of admonishments to Matteo for the bad decisions he's been making, as well as his selfish behavior, while he was in the process of releasing his album.
    • In Season 3, she becomes angry at Simón for not telling her that Ámbar and Benicio falsified Felipe Mendevilla's contact, but she thought he did it out of his misguided love for her, when he was only trying to give Ámbar a chance to tell Luna herself.

     Matteo Balsano

Matteo Balsano

Played by: Ruggero Pasquarelli

Matteo is the son of diplomats and from a very young age he is used to living in different countries. The fact of moving every few years has made him a young man detached from places and people. He is very friendly and popular, and at first glance he seems somewhat superficial. He is Ámbar's boyfriend, but because of his charismatic personality we realize that he likes to live in freedom, away from ties and sentimental commitments. He is a skilled skater, very confident of himself. Matteo knows that all girls are in love with him. But since for him there are no impossibilities, he will try to conquer the heart of that girl who does not pay attention to him.

  • Betty and Veronica: He was the Veronica to Simón's Betty for Luna, the Archie.
  • Calling the Old Man Out
  • Chick Magnet: Almost all of the girls at Blake South College liked Matteo. This also includes Ámbar, Luna, Fernanda and just ask Emilia, who refers to Matteo as "irresistible".
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: He's very conceited and arrogant, but he is shown to be a very good friend to Gastón and makes himself helpful to Luna sometimes.
  • Kick the Dog: Deliberately insults Simón during a VIDIA interview arranged by Bruno.
  • Kick the Morality Pet: He's also mean to Gastón and always takes his anger out on him just because he was passed up for an amazing opportunity to record the VIDIA album. However, Matteo regrets the way he treated Gastón and apologizes to him.
  • Moral Myopia: While his record being cancelled was unfair to him, however, Matteo vents his anger against Luna and his other friends, who are all about to compete in the RodaFest, instead of Gary, who was responsible for the deed to begin with.
  • Took a Level in Jerkass: He was already arrogant and full of himself when we first met him, but Matteo's ego becomes inflated when he gets the opportunity of recording an album, alienating him from Luna and his friends. To make matters worse, Gary deprives Matteo from his dream, which causes him to take his anger out on everyone because of it, even stating out loud that he doesn't care anymore about the competition.

     Ámbar Smith

Ámbar Smith

Played by: Valentina Zenere (Soy Luna - Juacas, season 2)

Voiced by: Analiz Sánchez (Juacas, season 2) [Latin-American Spanish dub]

Appearances: Soy Luna | Juacas

Ámbar is a capricious and superficial young woman who was born in a golden cradle and lives with her godmother, Sharon. Everything is under control in her life from her luxuries and comforts until Luna comes into her life. Wherever she goes, Ámbar is the kind of girl who catches everyone's eye and attention. As she is very intelligent, she takes adversity in stride and coldly thinks about each of her plans to get what she wants. She is a popular girl. She has an entourage of friends who admire her and help her do all her evil deeds, both at school and on the skating rink.

  • Alpha Bitch: Ámbar is the most popular girl at school, the goddaughter of a rich businesswoman, and the "Queen of the rink". She borders on Academic Alpha Bitch, except her studies aren't her main priority.
  • Big Bad Duumvirate: Her and Sharon join forces in season 2 to make sure Luna never finds out she is Sol Benson.
  • Defrosting Ice Queen: This happens to Ámbar at the end of season 1, but by the beginning of season 2 she is back to the way she was before, and has become even more of an Alpha Bitch. She gets even worse by season 3, but has a Heel–Face Turn and is friends with Luna by the series finale.
  • Dude Magnet: Matteo, Sebastián Villalobos, Benicio and Simón all fell in love with Ámbar.
  • Evil Is Petty: She reveals to Luna's parents that she had failed her exam out of pure spite just for using Matteo's notes for her to study.
  • Freudian Excuse: Ámbar is spoiled by the luxurious life her godmother grants her, but doesn't know her parents and undergoes a major identity crisis in season 2. This is why she is insecure and takes it out on Luna, who appears suddenly in her life and is an Unknown Rival for her in school, on the rink, for Matteo's heart, as well as at home.
  • Has a Type: She dated at least two Italian guys, who would be Matteo and Benicio.
  • Mirror Monologue: Ámbar is prone to this from season 2 onward.
  • Nephewism: Ámbar lives with her godmother Sharon and her parents are said to be always away for work. In fact, Ámbar doesn't know them. It is revealed at the end that Sharon is actually Ámbar's adoptive mother
  • Token Evil Teammate: Even though she is part of the Roller team, Ámbar often clashes with most of her teammates. This is subverted in the third season after pulling a Heel–Face Turn.
  • Villain Has a Point: While Ámbar did deserve some punishment for burning the rink (albeit by accident) and lying about it for a long time, she had every right to object Juliana's decision to kick her off the team, a few days away from the final competition. Even Luna and her friends start worrying about not probably winning with one less member. Los Sliders win the competition, proving that Ámbar was right.
  • Villain Team-Up: With Emilia in season 2 to get revenge on the roller after Juliana kicked her off for burning the rink.

     Simón Álvarez

Simón Álvarez

Played by: Michael Ronda

     Nina Simonetti

Nina Simonetti

Nina seeks to go unnoticed because she is very afraid of interacting with others, but her life changes when she finds Luna's friendship.

  • Betty and Veronica: She is the Betty to Delfi's Veronica for Gastón, the Archie.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Nina might be nice and often soft-spoken, but be careful when you anger her over something that she doesn't like. When she publicly unmasked herself as FelicityForNow, Delfi and Jazmin both jump in to interview her, which makes Nina snap at them when they won't quit bothering her. Then, in the verge of tears she yelled at her parents to stop arguing and stormed out due to her mom finding out that her dad set up new cameras and sold him out to the stoic manager of VIDIA. And lastly, she bravely puts Gary in his place when he threatens to punish her friends for using the rink without their permission.
  • Cute Bookworm: She's basically a human encyclopedia with social awkwardness.
  • Dude Magnet: Downplayed. Despite being a nerd, Nina does attract a decent amount of boys from the likes of Xabi, Gastón and eventually Eric, which is helped by her Nice Girl personality.
  • Insecure Love Interest: Is she ever?
  • Loves My Alter Ego: Nina fears how Gastón might react to finding out that she is FelicityForNow.

Gastón, Matteo's best friend. He is his confidant and adviser, and the only one who really knows him under his popular and outgoing armor. Gastón is attractive and popular, but unlike Matteo he has his feet firmly on the ground. He has never had too many worries: his only interests are girls, skating and music. Little by little he begins to tire of the world of superficialities that surrounds him.

  • Berserk Button: Being lied to makes him easily angry.
  • The Bus Came Back: Returns to Buenos Aires in season 3 to visit Nina before breaking up with her and returning to resume his college studies.
  • Chick Magnet: Delfi, Nina and Matteo's cousin Flor were attracted to Gastón.

Delfina „Delfi“ Alzamendi

Played by: Malena Ratner

Appearances: Soy Luna | BIA

Delfina is one of Ámbar's best friends at school, on the skating rink, and in life. She is wealthy and aristocratic. She would like to stand out on her own, but she lives dominated by Amber. She is very judgmental, capricious and superficial, and loves to belong to Ámbar's inner circle; that makes her feel that others admire her.

  • All Love Is Unrequited: Delfi has a crush on Gastón, who doesn't return her feelings.
  • Beta Bitch: Delfina was this to Ámbar alongside Jazmín until the later half of Season 2. When they got fed up with Ámbar‘s attitude.
  • The Fashionista:
  • Hair-Trigger Temper:
  • Moral Myopia: Delfi blames Luna for her and Gastón getting disqualified from the preliminary competition, resulting in Luna and Simón getting reinstated by default. However, Delfi ignores that she actually did this to herself after knocking down a sign in a fit, which was caught by security cameras.

    Jazmín Carbajal

Jazmín Carbajal

Played by: Katja Martínez

Appearances: Soy Luna | BIA

Jazmín is, along with Delfina, another of Ámbar's best friends. Jazmín has no filter, she says everything that crosses her mind and that is why she always blunders and when she wants to fix things, she makes them worse. She is quite naive and gullible, which makes her very easy to manipulate. She participates in all the evils that Ámbar plans and she never questions anything, since she knows that this is the price she must pay for belonging to her inner circle. She lives connected on social networks and pending the opinion of others.

  • Alone Among the Couples: She's the only female main character to end up alone since all of her previous crushes on some boys, Simón included, never evolved into a serious relationship.
  • Beta Bitch: Jazmín was this to Ámbar alongside Delfina until the later half of Season 2. When they got fed up with Ámbar‘s attitude.
  • The Ditz: Jazmín knows a lot about fashion, but very little about anything else.
  • The Fashionista:

    Nicolás „Nico“ Navarro

Nicolás „Nico“ Navarro

Played by: Lionel Ferro

Nicolás is the warm, buyer-friendly, friendly guy that everyone quickly becomes attached to. He is in charge of the skates at Jam & Roller. Nico is Pedro's best friend, who also works at the skating rink. Together they dream of forming a band, and little by little and with effort they will succeed. Girls die for them.

  • Chick Magnet: Jim, Flor and Ada.
  • Only Known by Their Nickname: His real name is Nicolás, but he is often called Nico. However, Tamara and his uncle Gary sometimes call him by his real name.
  • Put on a Bus: He leaves Buenos Aires during the second half of Season 3, going with Ada to New York.

    Pedro Arias

Pedro Arias

Played by: Gastón Vietto

Pedro is transparent and honest. He is always willing to give everything for his friends. At times he is shy and insecure around girls. He is in charge of tending the cafeteria at Jam & Roller. Pedro is also a musician: he loves to play the drums and is happy when he rehearses with the band.

  • All Love Is Unrequited: Pedro has a crush on Tamara, his own boss.
  • Expy: To Maxi, as both of them fall for the on-and-off minion/"friend" (Delfi/Naty) of the main villain (Ámbar/Ludmila), which shows a more softer side of them.
  • Morality Pet: To Delfi.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: He gives one to Delfi for her and Jazmín knowing that Ámbar caused the fire that burned the rink and not saying anything about it before.

    Jimena „Jim“ Medina

Jimena „Jim“ Medina

Played by: Ana Jara

Jimena is calm and thoughtful. She is infatuated and fanciful, she finds it difficult to put her feet on the ground. She loves to skate, but her passion is dancing. Her best friend is Yam. Together they are Jim and Yam, (something like yin and yang). Both are inseparable, have a great connection and are like two halves that complement each other.

  • All Love Is Unrequited: She has a crush on Ramiro, who in actuality has feelings for her best friend Yam.
  • Alone Among the Couples: She's another female main character who ends up alone by the end of the show due to both agreeing with Nico that they were Better as Friends and him starting a relationship with Ada in the third season.
  • Expy: To Francesca from Violetta, as they both are easy to get jealous when it comes to their love interests (Marco/Nico), before amicably breaking up after realizing they work out Better as Friends.
  • Fiery Redhead: For the first two seasons, especially concerning Nico. She grows out of this in the third season.
  • Never My Fault: Refuses to acknowledge that her behavior led to Nico dropping out of Luna's team for the competition as Yam calls her out on it.
  • Took a Level in Jerkass: Towards Nico in the second half of the first season due to some personal disagreements.

    Yamila „Yam“ Sánchez

Yamila „Yam“ Sánchez

Played by: Chiara Parravicini

Yamila is analytical, rational, and determined. Impulsive and frontal, she says without preamble what she thinks and imposes herself: she does not allow herself to be overwhelmed. She has a great imagination and surprises with her great voice on stage. Little by little she will discover her passion for design. She has a lot of style, although her tastes are more sophisticated than those of girls her age.

  • Beware the Nice Ones
  • Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold
  • Took a Level in Jerkass: Season 3 wasn't so kind to her after Ramiro joined the Red Sharks, vowing herself not to ever think about Ramiro. Even when he apologizes and accepted back by his friends, Yam is the only one who still refuses to talk to him.
  • Ungrateful Bitch: With Yam being the only one (and the most affected by his betrayal) of the entire group to not forgive Ramiro, she treats him very poorly whenever he tries to give her some useful feedback for her upcoming audition.
  • Was Too Hard on Him: Yam recognizes that she was very harsh with Ramiro when she did not want to talk to him after he had apologized for betraying the Roller team for the Red Sharks.

    Ramiro Ponce

Ramiro Ponce

Played by: Jorge López

Ramiro is an extremely self-demanding young Chilean: he skates, sings and dances very well… and he knows it. He needs to do everything right and doesn't control his frustrations when he doesn't achieve his goals. He is sometimes perceived as arrogant and unsympathetic to others. He dreams of being a star and always prepares all of his performances with great care. Maybe one day someone will find out and make him the celebrity he longs to be.

  • Everyone Loves Blondes: With Yam.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: While normally a selfish competitive boy, a softer side of Ramiro is shown when he starts developing feelings for Yam. He also collaborated with Luna, whom he hardly knew at the time, for the surprise meant for Simón so that he can stay in Buenos Aires.
  • Token Good Teammate: Of the Red Sharks. He only even auditioned for the Red Sharks because he thought it was the only way for him to continue skating competitively after Gary took over the rink. He has no interest in Gary's megalomania or in Ambar, Emilia, and Benicio's manufactured social media drama, and he constantly tries to dissuade his new teammates' personal attacks on his friends, even warning the Roller Team of these plans when he can.
  • Took a Level in Kindness: Shows traits of this as the second season progresses.

     Emilia

Emilia

Played by: Giovanna Reynaud

Emilia is ambitious, evil and willing to do anything to get what she wants. Energetic and determined, she hides her inner darkness behind a false smile with which she tries to conquer everyone. Integrates Red Sharks and will do everything possible to beat Jam & Roller at any price ... both on and off the skating rink.

  • Beta Bitch: Emilia, replacing Delfi and Jazmín after they reformed, was this to Ambar for most of the third season before the latter turned on her during the second half.
  • Betty and Veronica: Downplayed with Emilia as the Veronica and Luna as the Betty with Matteo (Archie).
  • Big Bad Duumvirate: With Ámbar near the end of season 2 and the first half of season 3, joined by Gary.
  • Blatant Lies: Emilia kisses Matteo, not knowing she captured it on video to set him up. When he recoils and asks why did she do that, Emilia claims it was because Matteo was too close and she couldn't help herself, saying he's irresistible (the last one is true).
  • Character Catchphrase: In season 3, she is often saying ¿Es en serio? (Are you serious?) to the characters.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: Despite her mean intimidating behavior, she was understandably objectful at Ámbar's suggestion of throwing Luna's skates into the sea, not only because by doing that they were contaminating it (to the point when a nearby guard threatened to call the cops on them unless they fished them back), but also reminds her that it could've got the team disqualified for cheating.
  • Face of an Angel, Mind of a Demon: She's strikingly beautiful on the outside, but cruel and heartless on the inside.
  • Forceful Kiss: Gives one to Matteo, who immediately recoils, not knowing that this is part of her plan to once again create a rift between him and Luna, as it is revealed that she had been secretly recording it.
  • Heel–Face Turn: Emilia begins hers, alongside Benicio, in episode 58 after overhearing Juliana talking about them, saying that their behaviour has influenced them to the worse and will get nowhere if they continue like this. In turn, both of them realize how wrong their actions were against the Roller team. They are later shown wishing good luck to the team and thanking Juliana for everything she did for them, though not before returning (off-screen) the invoice carpet, which they previously stole from Ámbar to get her fired. They even attend Luna's 18th birthday party.
  • Hypocrite Has a Point: When Luna confronts Emilia about setting Matteo up to turn her against him, she says it's her fault that he fell off the mansion's gates while trying to provide her the solid evidence. However, Emilia fights back and states that the accident is actually Luna's fault because she didn't trust tim, nor did she want to listen to him. Emilia's words hit Luna very hard that she guilts herself for Matteo's accident, even though Simón and her friends keep suggesting otherwise that Emilia is the only one to blame, claiming that there was no possible way for Luna to find out ealier about the scheme. But Emilia is also as guilty for posting the picture in the first place.
Emilia: What's up, Luna? Are you skating?
    Luna: It's not your concern.
Emilia: You're really continuing to surprise me. I mean, by knowing you I thought that you'd be at least worried about your boyfriend but...how is he, anyway? Did he fully recover?
    Luna: What's your deal, huh?
Emilia: Well, I heard he fell off because of you. Poor you, I can tell how awful you're feeling right now. I simply don't understand, Luna. He didn't deserve that you treat him like that.
Luna: Let me tell you something, okay? This is all your fault. What's so funny? You played with his feelings. And not just his, you also played with everyone's feelings, Emilia.
    Emilia: You have no idea.
Luna: No idea? I saw the video. The video with the kiss. It was stolen and he never actually kissed you. Emilia, you hurt him real bad.
    Emilia: I hurt him?
    Luna: Yeah, you.
Emilia: I didn't listen to him? Answer me, Luna. I didn't believe him? I refused to trust him? Make no mistake. Matteo fell off because of you. You were the one who didn't believe him, not me or anyone else. And you know what? I'm very sure that the fact of him knowing you didn't trust him, was far more painful than the fall itself.
  • I Lied: Zig-zagged. Emilia proposes to Matteo that they pretend to be a couple to Ámbar so she could give him the proof kiss video to clear his name to Luna. However, even though Matteo fulfilled his end of the bargain, their stunt didn't convince Ámbar at all, so because of this Emilia refuses him the video. Simón even did warn Matteo not to go through with it because Emilia wouldn't stay true to her word.
  • Kick the Dog: She humiliates poor Luna during the OpenMusic at the Benson Mansion by projecting on the screen the picture of her kiss with Matteo.
  • Pet the Dog: After reflecting on the error of their ways, she and Benicio show up to wish the roller team luck on their skating performance.
  • Small Name, Big Ego
  • Maybe Ever After: Implied with her and Benicio.
  • Promotion to Opening Titles: In season 3, alongside Benicio and Gary.

    Benicio

Benicio

Played by: Pasquale Di Nuzzo

Brilliant and manipulative, Benicio doesn't know the word "no." He is always looking for success and personal gain, no matter what damage he may do along the way. As a member of the Red Sharks, he will do anything to destroy the Jam & Roller.

  • The Bus Came Back: Returns to join the Red Sharks team led by Gary in season 3.
  • Evil Counterpart: Despite their little interactions, Benicio clearly serves as one to Matteo as both are ambitious aspiring singers and very full of themselves. However, while Matteo is able to acknoweldge how wrong his actions are, Benicio doesn't care exploiting other people's weaknesses to get what he wants.
  • Green-Eyed Monster: Benicio is always jealous of Simón, his nemesis, whenever he sees him and Ambar together.
  • Heel–Face Turn: Benicio begins his, alongside Emilia, in episode 58 after overhearing Juliana talking about them, saying that their behaviour has influenced them to the worse and will get nowhere if they continue like this.
  • Maybe Ever After: Implied with him and Emilia.
  • Pet the Dog: After reflecting on the error of their ways, he and Emilia show up to wish the roller team luck on their skating performance.
  • Put on a Bus: He makes his last appearance in episode 64 of season 2 as a recurring character.
  • Promotion to Opening Titles: In season 3, alongside Emilia and Gary.

    Eric Andrade

Eric Andrade

Played by: Jandino

Eric is a very shy boy who arrives at Jam & Roller as the new track assistant. His great passion is singing and he has great vocal talent, but his inhibition prevents him from showing it to the world. Thanks to his growing friendship with Nina, and the support she provides with Luna, he will gain the confidence to make his skills known and let everyone hear his magical voice.

  • The Ace: He is very gifted in singing but can't bring himself to share this talent to the world.
  • Nice Guy: His shyness makes him very likeable.
  • Poor Communication Kills: He mistakenly assumes that Nico and Nina are a couple when he overheard him and Gary, who assumed this as well, talking about it. As a result, he starts avoiding Nina, who misundertands his hints. Nico later clarifies the situation to Eric.
  • Replacement Scrappy: Eric got hit with this pretty hard. Once Gastón left the show, many felt it was unnecessary to give Nina another love interest, and some believe it would've been better if she ended up with no one in the end. Not to mention the fact that Eric has been criticized for having very little personality outside of being Nina's love interest. This could also be a case of Die for Our Ship, as much of Eric's hate comes from Gastina fans.
  • Will They or Won't They?: He and Nina have this throughout the third season, especially the latter who can't stop thinking about Gastón even after their breakup. After some hard efforts, they do get together.

     Monica Valente

Monica Valente

Played by: Ana Carolina Valsagna

Mónica is a friendly and loving woman with a lot of energy. She is a very talented and efficient cook. The family is very important to Mónica. She always holds a protective hand over her only daughter.

    Sharon Benson

Sharon Benson

Played by: Lucila Gandolfo

Sharon is a rich and intellectual woman. She is intelligent and self-confident and can quickly seem very cold because of her ambition. Sharon is a very bitter and cold woman with great secrets. She is incredibly strategic and plans every step of her, she believes in making sacrifices for a better cause and is shown to be a risk taker. Her love for Amber is enormous, but she has incredibly high expectations for her.

  • All Love Is Unrequited: She had a crush on Bernie, her sister's future husband. Despite the fact that she technically met him first, he still chose Lili over her.
  • Ambition Is Evil: She will stop at nothing to keep Luna away from the truth in order to keep her fortune safe.
  • Batman Gambit: Sharon plans to have Ámbar, her adoptive daughter, pose as Sol Benson in order to keep her fortune. However, it loses strength overtime as the truth slowly spreads out among the staff, her father, and, to put a nail on the coffin, Luna of all people.
  • Big Bad: Of the entire series.
  • Cain and Abel: She is the Cain to her sister Lili‘s Abel, even though it was unintentional.
  • Easily Forgiven: After all of the bad things she's done to her, Ámbar forgives her when she permanently loses her eyesight caused by the fire.
  • Evil Aunt: In Season 2 she did everything, in her power to keep Luna from finding out the truth about her identity. In season 3 everyone knows the truth and she plots revenge against Luna and her family, but it’s worth mentioning that Sharon did love Luna at somepoint but was unable to overcome her hatred for her sister Luna’s mother.
  • Evil Cannot Comprehend Good: While Sharon did love Luna at some point, she couldn't fully understand that Lili, her mother, got everything she wanted expecting nothing in return for the low price of behaving better than Sharon herself ever did.
  • Evil Is Petty: Sharon wants to get revenge on Luna and her family because, as her niece, she's the heir of the Benson fortune, but also because her sister, Luna's mother, is a reminder of Sharon losing everything, including Bernie, Luna's father, the only person she truly ever loved.
  • Expy: To Priscila from Violetta. She is an abusive stepmother to Ámbar, and is the reason why she masks all her sufferings through a Alpha Bitch facade. However, unlike Priscila, she was introduced at the beginning of the show.
  • Foil: To Germán. They are both millionaires who live in a mansion, are rather strict to their employees and have faced trauma from the loss of a loved one they cared about. However, while Germán is a selfish yet caring person who's only doing what he thinks is best for his daughter, Sharon is full of hatred, revenge and greed, as she's trying to stop Luna from finding out she's her niece in order to protect her fortune.
  • Freudian Excuse Is No Excuse: Sharon feeling jealousy because her sister always had everything and she didn't definitely doesn't justify Sharon's cruel actions against Luna that are done out of personal gain.
  • Green-Eyed Monster: Not only was she envious of her sister Lili, but resented her for always having everything she ever wanted, including the one person she ever truly loved.
  • Heel–Face Turn: By the series finale, Sharon is finally redeemed and apologizes to Ámbar for neglecting her.

  • Screw the Rules, I Have Money!: After finding out that Ámbar burnt the rink, Sharon uses her wealth to talk the VIDIA president into dropping the charges against her so that their reputation wouldn't be tarnished.

  • My Beloved Smother: Nina actually sees her mother as this due to her constantly overprotecting her and treating her like she's still a child.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: She felt guilty for almost causing the Jam & Roller to shut down after she told on Ricardo to the VIDIA manager about the unauthorized cameras.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: While Ana was somewhat justified in reporting the unauthorized cameras installing for Jam & Roller, this move almost led to Jam & Roller's closure when the enraged VIDIA manager came across a faulty wall with water.     Gary López

Gary López

Played by: Joaquín Berthold (Juacas - Soy Luna, seasons 2 & 3)

Voiced by: Arturo Mercado Jr. (Juacas) [Latin-American Spanish dub]

Appearances: Juacas | Soy Luna

He is Nico's uncle and former surfing champion, becoming a sports entrepreneur. When it comes to money matters, Gary is unscrupulous and willing to do whatever it takes to earn it. Heading his new skating team, the Red Sharks, seeks victory at any price.

  • Bad Boss: After taking over Jam & Roller (and renaming it to Red Sharks), Gary frequently acts like this to his employees, particularly Eric, whom he bullies the most.
  • Big Bad: During the first 30 episodes of the third season. It is actually more of a Big Bad Ensemble with Sharon.
  • Evil Is Petty: Gary forces Nico, Pedro and Simón to pay the rent of his loft, then throws out all of them, alongside Matteo who sorted out their issue, both because the former two aided Luna and co. in entering the rink unnoticed (although with Juliana this is subverted as she did deserve some punishment for crossing a professional line while coaching the Red Sharks, but reporting her to the skating federation was a bit too far and uncalled for) and the group justifiably (given his previous behaviour towards them) rejected Gary's proposal to become the new Red Sharks.
  • Demoted to Extra: In part 2 of the third season, he signicantly and naturally gets reduced to this role after the Red Sharks' disbandment, appearing only in the first handful of episodes complaining about his failure, before he eventually leaves Buenos Aires after he's got nothing to lose.
  • Evil Uncle: To Nico.
  • Fake Twin Gambit: While not a fake twin per se, Gary has a cousin who resembles him (because he's played by Joaquín Berthold's twin brother in real life). Due to Ana wanting to meet with Gary to discuss the Jam & Roller situation, Gary has his cousin pretend to be him while making him repeat what he has to tell her. They meet at a restaurant, where Gary is in the distance aiding him. The plan initially goes well, only for it to backfire hilariously because of technical difficulties with the device, especially because Gary accidentally said something to a waitress that his cousin relayed to Ana.
  • Hate Sink: Ugh, seriously, there's not a single day in which this odious man gets on everyone's nerves.
  • Jerkass Has a Point: Not one, but two.
    • Gary is the most despicable person, yet he's not wrong when calling out Juliana for crossing a professional line when she assisted the Roller team in using the rink without his consent, even if she knew that it would cost her her job as coach of the Red Sharks, leading to him firing her. However, he takes it too far by threatening to have her training license revoked by the skating federation. Juliana lampshaded this to Luna, who beats herself up for involving her in this.
    • Gary also scolds the Red Sharks team for not being professional enough when the crowd chose to watch Jam & Roller's outdoor performance over theirs as they were earlier banned from attending the competition, stating that while the latter team worked hard in promoting themselves, the Red Sharks, unlike their rivals, didn't do anything that could even boost their stardom as they were completely busy trying to constantly sabotage them, although it's partly Gary's fault for not allowing the Roller team inside. They, however, do not take this well, believing that Luna and her friends planned all of this as revenge, even though the Roller team only wanted to skate for fun as it is what they do the most while the Red Sharks only think that winning is more important.
  • Kick the Dog: Belittles and bullies Eric for being an "incompetent" employee.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: Nina exposes Gary's true character via an online article she herself wrote, which eventually reaches VIDIA's authorities, resulting in him no longer having any influence over their decisions.
  • Nice Job Fixing It, Villain:
    • Gary did not allow Jam & Roller inside the Red Shark festival event only because of the fact that he felt threatened by their talent and feared that their presence might deflect attention from the Red Sharks. However, this fear unpredictably ends up becoming true because of his actions that unwittingly resulted in the Roller team skating outside for fun, without even imagining that they would later gain a lot of spectators.
    • When Gary is finally driven to resign from his position as manager of Jam & Roller, his last action is to hire Ámbar as his replacement, thinking it a parting shot of revenge since Ámbar and the Roller team don't get along. Instead, the extra responsibility on Ámbar's shoulders, coupled with the fact that she was already sick of how Gary ran things, actually accelerates her Heel–Face Turn, leading to her reconciliation with Luna, to her ditching Emilia and Benicio, and to her rejoining the Roller Team (and, although Gary was unaware any of any of these events, to her rejecting Sharon's plans and embracing the Valentes as family).
  • Pet the Dog: Two VERY minor ones.
    • Luna and co. want to host the Open Music, but Gary initially declines because, according to him, skating is the main priority and singing has nothing to do with it. However, he changes his mind later on and allows them to do so, albeit on the condition that the Red Sharks are allowed to participate as well.
    • Another is that he relented from punishing them for using the rink without his permission after Nina stood up for her friends in a very intelligent way, taking into account that this only happened because of him dating her mom, whom he had developed feelings for. Even Nina herself was surprised that Gary gave up just like that.
  • Put on a Bus: Resigns and leaves Ámbar in charge of Jam & Roller.
  • Promotion to Opening Titles: Started off as a recurring character of the second season before being upgraded to a main character in the third season, which first half revolves around rebranding Jam & Roller to his surf team Red Sharks.
  • Took a Level in Kindness: A VERY minor and unusual one when he falls in love with Ana, Nina's mother, the very same person who wanted to expose his schemes against Jam & Roller. Whenever she is around him, Gary suddenly becomes a nice person.
  • Tyrant Takes the Helm: Gary does numerous changes to Jam & Roller, as he had promised earlier in the second season, by renaming its brand to Red Sharks and recruiting Ámbar, Benicio, Emilia and Ramiro as the official teammates.
