- Ear Ache: Pulls Abel's ear after his comment on her light preserving of the World Tree's branch.
- Friendly Shopkeeper: She and Mea became friends behind Abel's back, and also taught her Massage of Love for feet, calfs and shins.
- The Gadfly: Implied in the Webnovel. She and Mea became friends somehow, and often told Mea that she could sell her horns to her shop. That made Abel unnerved and wary of her, but nothing came out of it. Maybe she said that to Mea, knowing that she'll mention it to Abel, just to mess with him.
- Named by the Adaptation: In the short story Mea's Present, she's referred to as Carol.
- Small Role, Big Impact: Pretty much sold Abel his Infinity -1 Sword.
- We Buy Anything: Exchanges Mea's entire jewelry and trinkets bag for gold currency.
Maizen
- Adaptational Badass: In the webnovel, he's Taken for Granite by Margus. In the manga, he and Mea create a diversion to help Abel take him out.
- Every Scar Has a Story: He has the bite marks from the beasts that almost killed him as a child. When Abel asked where are they, Maizen said they were under the belt. Abel said he doesn't need to see it, but Maizen looked disappointed.

- A Father to His Men: What he tries to accomplish.
- Following in Their Rescuer's Footsteps: Maizen was saved by a passing adventurer when he wandered into a nest of magical beasts as a child. This was his reason for becoming an adventurer.
- Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: Has blonde hair, and is a really nice person for a stranger to accompany on a first quest.
- Leader Wannabe: Maizen tried it with his old party, but it didn't work because of his inability to control or set rules without upsetting them.
- Lovable Coward: He likes to fight weaker encounters, but when things get dicey, he runs away... to provide a distraction.
- Screw This, I'm Outta Here: He resorts to this.. often to distract the monsters and let his friends retreat. Abel has something to say about the style though in the manga:[Original Text] Abel: "A brilliant escape ..."
[Fan-translation] Abel: "The Joestar Technique passed down through the generations." - Taken for Granite: In the webnovel, he's petrified by Margus, along with the citizens of Lomarn City.
- We Need a Distraction: He'll run away when things get difficult.. to give his teammates a chance to escape while the monsters are chasing him.
Elia
- Agitated Item Stomping: After Palgas village was freed from Levi church's influence, she was stomping the Levi church robes she was forced to wear. Abel realized part of her was angry at him for letting her get robed into this.
- Cool Big Sis: She Looks like she's 20 years old. Understanding and supportive of Abel and Mea in whatever they're doing. Abel always hold her in high regards.

- Fear Is the Appropriate Response: Despite her cool exterior, she's not above being scared or panicking in the face of danger, like when her carriage was being chased by Brian Bond or Nalgarn. Abel feels guilty for imposing such image on her.
- Not So Above It All: Mentioned by Abel at first as a cold person of few words. But then she joins Abel, Mea and Maizen in playing a game called 'Oracle Cards', and she could only hide her smile every time she wins.
- Quiet Cry for Help: When Abel and Mea went to hunt for Live Foggs to make the Liveglass elixer for Palgas village, Abel saw her being held from both sides by smiling Levi followers, talking her nonstop about joining the Levi church. She gives Abel a tearful face and silently begs him to come back quickly. When Abel came back, she was there with Levi's followers, now dressed like them, and giving him a Death Glare.
- Seen It All: Adapts this attitude to an extent, after seeing Abel harvesting Nalgarn's heads while it is stuck in a swamp.Elia: “…… Well, what can I say, I’m not going to be surprised by anything the customer does anymore.”
- Her reaction after seeing Altamir's Tower collapses in front of her, while she's waiting for Abel and Mea to come out, was.. "quite calm", and then accepted to take two Living Legend on the carriage, no questions:
Elia: “I have a feeling that’s about it”. - Shipper on Deck: She refused to drive Abel and Mea to the Fage territory, even when Abel put a sack of money in her hands and lowered his head begging her, because of the bad rumors about the territory (and the dragon Nalgarn). But when Abel told her "Mine and Mea's parents came to bring us back", she decided to help. Abel felt guilty that she misunderstood him, but he didn't have much of a choice.
Ebelheid
- All for Nothing: A 2000 years old Lost Superweapon that Ebelheid spent his 300 years life trying to break its sealing barrier, which was also done by his father, and his grandfather.. lost to a 16 years old kid. "Shaggy Dog" Story much, eh Ebelheid?.
- Beam-O-War: He shoots the "Arrow of God" on Abel, only for Abel to counter it with his new spell: Abel's Ball. The "Arrow of God" was no match for it.
- Dying Race: His ancestors became this thanks to them being driven for Alfheim. Away from the Magical Moon Din, their physical, magical abilities and lifespan dwindled with each generation. Their birthrates suffered as well.
- Fantastic Racism: His people, the elves descended from the Sky Country Alfheim, were persecuted by the Norcs and built a fortress to resist them, that became the Zeshum ruins. It was the opposite, as the elves were oppressing the Norcs, and built a stronghold for building their weapons to Take Over the World, then the Sky Country Alfheim.
- Fate Worse than Death: According to Mea, since Ebelheid went to jail for his rampage, he'll live the rest of his life with his failure, now seen as 'Just an elf who went Drunk with Power for his desire for Revenge', something an elf is too proud to act on.
- Fauxshadow: Ebelheid sports a sigil in the shape of a Gryphon on his right hand after activating Zeshum Ruins. In the webnovel, it's explained that it is the crest of Zeshum, and means that he gained control of the ruins. Sigils will come as a plot point later, as a requirement for Summon Magic.
- I've Come Too Far: When Abel's attacks are about to bring Zeshum Ruins to the ground, Ebelheid snaps and arms then aim the "Arrow of God" on Abel and his friends.
- The Mentor: He hits it off with Abel really quickly, exchanging notes and theories, giving him advises to the prohibited magic he used, and telling him how promising he is. Only to reveal himself as an Evil Mentor.
- Nightmare Face: His face expressions become terrifying to look at after he goes berserk following his revealing his true colors, and when he suffers a Villainous Breakdown.
- A Nazi by Any Other Name: Believes that all Norcs are lower than elfs, justifiying his plans to eradicate them from the world, and is disgusted by the knowledge of his ancestors' king's relationship with a Norc woman:Ebelheid:"Mixing our noble blood with the foolish and short-lived Norcs..Filthy!! It is absolutly unforgivable!"
- Omnicidal Maniac: He hates the high-elves for driving his ancestors from the Sky Country Alfheim, but he hates Norcs even more not just for being lower than elves, but also because his ancestors' king fell in love with a Norc woman, and had the Zeshum elves who didn't agree to that killed. For that, he'll kill all the Norcs, take over and find more magic stones to power the "The Arrow of God", and declare war on Alfhiem.
- Power Crystal: After he uses a spell of high magnitude, he drops a broken magic stone from one of his hands, signifying that his magic is low and needing the stones as catalyst.
- Proud Warrior Race: Sees himself and his race to be above everyone, a trait sadly inherited from the people who banished his ancestors.
- Robot Master: Command the ruins' Golems to attack Abel and the investigation force. Then Abel returns that to him, with interest.
- Save the Villain: Abel rescues him from falling after Zeshum Ruins were destroyed with wind magic. But he gets arrested by the authorities.
- Smug Snake: He keeps believing that he became unstoppable after gaining control of the ruins:Ebelheid:"Fufu...After all, no one who isn't an elf could win against the weapons of Zeshum."
- They Were Holding You Back: He asked why someone like Abel hangs out with Maizen and Mea. When Abel answers him that he needs companions after he left his village, Ebelheid stays silent and then leaves saying:Ebelheid: I expect great things from you, Abel.
- Treacherous Quest Giver: Asked the local lord for an investigation force to explore Zeshum ruins and protect him in exchange of obtaining what's inside it, only to turn on them and try to kill them, activate the superweapon in the ruins, and plan to destroy Lomarn City in a show of power.
- Villainous Breakdown: He was so shocked after seeing "The Arrow of God" obliterated by Abel's "Abel's Ball", he didn't resist arrest and just stood looking at the remains of the ruins.
- We Can Rule Together: Asks Abel to become his right-hand man for half the world. Abel declines his offer.
- You Are a Credit to Your Race: Treats the investigation force and their leader, Wegener, with contempt and indifference, but treats Abel like an equal. When he reveal his true intentions, he asks Abel to join him, as the only magician he'd acknowledge.
Wegener Urkok
- Dirty Coward: When a hoard of Hobgoblins attacks, while Ebelheid is helping the soldiers, Wegener hides behind Abel and Mea.
- Gold Fever: Once the door to the inner chambers of the ruins is opened, Wegener happily rushes in to claim the treasure. Only to be interrupted by a hoard of Sufis.
- Her Code Name Was "Mary Sue": Writes and sells journal diaries about his expeditions, painting himself as the hero. Mea instantly believed it and became a fan:Abel (to himself):"I feel like it's 500% exaggeration though".
- It's All About Me: When told by a soldier to escape while he and the others hold a hoard of Hobgoblins, his first question is: whether he'll get an escort or not.
- Not Now, Kiddo: His attitude towards bringing Abel to the investigation of the ruins per Ebelheid's suggestion. This also his disbelief for Abel, Mea and Maizen's explanation to what happened to the ruins:Wegener:"There's no way a single magician would be able do that!!".
Wegener: "Greedy for achievements, huh!? This is why I can't handle country bumpkins.." - Playing Sick: When he was asked to help investigating a string of strange incidents in the forest near Lomarn City, he suddenly complained about "mysterious abdominal pain" after hearing the story.
- What Were You Thinking?: Years ago, he published a book titled: “The Abominable Causes of the Witch’s Tower”. Because of how he tends to exaggerate his writings, Plagas village's Chief Heil contacted him, berating him for encouraging adventurers to throw their lives against the tower, and ordered a collection racket to dispose of every copy of the book.Heil:"I told him that it would be dangerous for an adventurer to enter the tower".
Gaston Garand
- Achilles in His Tent: Becomes this in the webnovel, after his defeat by Gordon and Mordon and getting his sword sold. Walking in a daze and Drowning His Sorrows. But then Abel calls the brothers to pull him to the Adventurer Support Center to redeem Evil Bound's telepathic roots.
- Appeal to Force: When Gordon and Mordon confront him about Abel's money and him spending it on a tavern, he checks the alley they're in for onlookers, than pulls his sword on the brothers to intimidate them.
- BFS: His sword, Vairablow, has a blade larger than the average sword-blade, and weigh twice as much. Can cut the bones of magical beasts with its weight and crush the bones from a blow to the beast's stomach.
- Break the Haughty: When he refused to give Gordon and Mordon the reword money he should've handed to Abel and threatened them, they both fight him. Not only did they defeat him, got the rest of the money, but they also took his sword, Vairablow, and sold it for compensation. After that, he becomes obedient, passive And silently mourning his sword.
- Bring My Brown Pants: After taking Brian's Mighty Roar head-on, signifying his defeat.
- Dumb Muscle: He accepts Abel's made-up story about a dangerous strong adventurer who kills monsters for Abel to redeem in his place because his license was revoked without hesitation. Still, that doesn't stop him from threatening to Blackmail Abel with that information for money. He accepts taking the credit for the kills though.
- Fake Ultimate Hero: What Abel turns him into for his benefit. Since he's an intimidating thug, no one will complain or suspect foul-play whenever he redeems monsters remains, even if their threat level is bigger than his rank. Things goes out of control when Abel accidentally gives him the credit for defeating Margus, and then gets scouted.. by Princess Charlotte.
- Fell Asleep Standing Up: More like fainted standing up from fear of Brian. Adding to his accidental leak, maximizing the humiliation.
- Fish out of Water: After his promotion to Charlotte's Elite Guard Squad's Captain. A chapter was focused on how he looked surrounded by the elite soldiers and how out of place he is.
- Five-Finger Discount: How Gaston obtained his sword, Vairablow. He threatened a famous blacksmith into giving him the sword with a discount.
- Hypocrite: Claims that adventurers who cheats to raise their rank are a plague and the reason why hard-workers like him are stuck in the gutter, but then accepts Abel's proposal to take the credit for someone else kills. Abel lampshade it:Abel (narrating): But if Gaston was seriously concerned about the current state of the facility, this negotiation was impossible.. Thank God Gaston was not a righteous man.
- Jerk Jock: Large, mean and a bully. He's even been warned many times by the Support Center's receptionists for his unruly behavior. Often claims he's doing good for the facility by exposing and straightening cheaters, when he's just taking his frustration on those who overachieve.
- Never Learned to Read: Don't snatch someone's else quest report and asks him to read it aloud. He'll think you're making fun of his inability to read. This also helps Abel gives Mea the task of writing Gaston's Quest Report, since he won't read the reports filled with Written Sound Effect.
- Peer Pressure Makes You Evil: In the webnovel, after he redeems the Balm Birds that Abel and Mea hunted, the number of Gaston's cronies suddenly increases and they ask him to rent the tavern for A Round of Drinks for the House for celebration. He caves in and pays for it with the money he was meant to give Abel. Fortunately, Abel already recruited some muscle to track and set him straight.
- Pet the Dog: To prove his cooperation to Abel after their deal, he walks into the Support Center and sees his two lackeys harassing poor Mea to tears, and punches those ruffians away and berates them for making a girl cry and for looking down on people's accomplishments.
- Pragmatic Villainy: Gaston accepts to just take the credit for Abel's monster kills and hands him the money rewards. Not only because of Abel's made-up story, but also because once he get scouted by a nobleman, the money he'll make will make the money he could squeeze off Abel looks like chump change.
- Rank Up: He was promoted from C class to Semi-A Class after the incident with Margus. Than he's appointed as Captain of the Elite Guards of Princess Charlotte.
- Screw This, I'm Outta Here: In the webnovel, Gaston sees the citizens running away from a threat. He attempts running away, but two female adventurers say that he'll probably defeat it. He tries running some more, only to find every person he runs into cheering on him. Surrounded by the people's cheering, he has a Epiphany Comeback and charges back at the threat. He's Taken for Granite as he realizes his foolishness.
- Stolen Credit Backfire: Once a sorcerer appears in Lomarn City and starts petrifying people with his magic, Gaston is encouraged by his fellow adventurers to go and take him down with their help. Gaston starts Believing Their Own Lies and rushes straight to danger in the manga, or running away when no one is looking in the webnovel. Both ends up with him Taken for Granite.
- Ungrateful Bastard: When Princess Charlotte scouts Gaston to become Captain, Abel tries to interfere and asks for the Princess to reconsider, since she doesn't know the truth about his 'heroics' and Gaston might get himself and Abel executed. Gaston knee-kicks Abel for that and accuses him of trying to take his credit. Luckily Abel shielded himself with the World Tree Ortem in the last minute.
- Ultimate Job Security: His "Ultimate" fate after the fiasco of his fight with Brian. The Princess who employed him wants to get rid of him, but doing so would mean admitting she made a mistake, which her pride won't allow her to. However, keeping him would mean making sure people will still think he's "Legendary Adventurer" she made him out to be. Fortunately, she decides on the latter, but that means he's stuck on her terms.
- Unskilled, but Strong: Has a huge body, the muscles and strength that comes with the adventuring life, but he lacks the skills and the achievements that'll make him advance through the ranks.
Gordon and Mordon
- Mordon: “…… Well, you really can do anything you want, can’t you?”
Gordon: “I didn’t know that I was picking a fight with this kind of person.”
- Adapted Out: Neither them nor their plotline are present in the manga.
- Betrayal Insurance: Abel assigns them as a deterrent to Gaston, should the latter tries betraying him. Which he actually does soon after, only for them to set him straight on the same night.
- Bring My Brown Pants: After Abel point his wand at a defeated Gordon's head.
- Bluff Worked Too Well: They were actually bluffing about hurting Abel at least, but they didn't know they were Mugging the Monster.
- Curb-Stomp Battle:
- Despite Gordon taking his axe on Abel, the latter flicks him off with a big hand made of soil. Gordon orders Mordon to shoot Abel with his bow, which he reluctantly does, only for Abel to overpower him with a Razor Wind, smashing his bow and the trees around him, but leaving him unharmed. Then he points his wand at a downed Gordon, deflecting his earlier threat at him.
- The two end up doing this to Gaston when they went to retrieve the money for Abel. Gordon kept pulling feint attacks on Gaston while he kept swinging his big sword with one hand, driving him back until Mordon jumped to Gaston's feet and pulled him down for both brothers to give him a beatdown.
- Defeat Means Friendship: After Abel put them in their place, they offers to help him and Mea move the twenty Balm Birds they've hunted before encountering them, in exchange for obtaining the gold coins the birds swallowed. He accepted.
- Entitled to Have You: Non-romantic example. Gordon tries to talk Mea into joining him and his brother in adventuring to help them get results, whether she likes it or not. He also seems oblivious to how uncomfortable he's making her feel, even when she's scared stiff and unable to stand without leaning on Abel.
- Freudian Excuse: Gordon was jealous of seeing male and female adventurers together, caused troubles with other adventurers and got kicked out, so he had his brother join him, and believed that if he didn't snatch Mea from Abel, someone else would.
- Heel–Face Turn: One Curb-Stomp Battle converted them from bullies to lackeys.
- Knuckle Cracking: Before Gordon charges at Abel, he cracks his neck. Abel notes how he was rushed to the hospital in his previous life because of doing that.
- Might Makes Right: Gordon finds it okay to beat up a scrawny teen until he can't move to take his friend away because she's good at hunting. Subverted as he was trying to scare Abel off.
- Mistaken for Badass: Seeing a weak-looking boy and a girl wielding a bow surrounded by twenty dead valuable birds shot with arrows made them get the wrong idea. It didn't help that Abel said that she hunted the birds to hide his use of forbidden Bio-magic.
- Mistaken For Couple: Gordon's chastises Mordon, when he asked Abel why he'd have Mea tag along and hunt with him if he's so powerful with magic to hunt by himself, by stating that they must be lovers, seeing how close they are. Abel was dumbstruck and tried to explain his reasons and Mea got flustered.
- Motivated by Fear: Abel entrusts them with handing the Balm Birds to Gaston AND getting the reward money from him. When he tells them not to disappear with the money, Gordon's response:Gordon: “Don’t worry, I won’t take any chances with that kind of danger”.
- Not-So-Harmless Villain: Not only did they defeat Gaston barehanded, took what's left of the money to return to Abel, but they also took Vairablow, Gaston's sword, and sold it to a back alley shop to compensate for his spending, but rushed the appraisal process, getting a cheap price.Abel (narrating): And they sold it off for cheap. Are these two demons?
- Recruiting the Criminal: Abel has them act as middle men between him a Gaston, which was needed since Gaston does try to cheat him out of his money on the first time, and they offer to track and get him to pay it back.
- The Social Darwinist: Gordon claims to believes in 'Survival of the Fittest' and challenges Abel to "test if he's qualified for adventuring". If Abel wins, he keeps Mea. If he loses, Gordon won't kill him, but he'll leave him battered he'll never be an adventurer again. This also how he justifies forcing Mea into joining them, since he thinks Abel can't defend her. Subverted once Abel defeats him, as he quickly folds and confesses that all his talk about hurting Abel was just a bluff to scare him off, and him ordering Mordon to shoot Abel was because he thought the latter was really going to kill him.
- Undying Loyalty: When Gaston threaten them with his sword to dissuade them from getting Abel's money, they both team up on him, despite his threats. They succeed.
- Villains Want Mercy: Gordon quickly crumbles after Abel wins against him, and rapidly says he's sorry. He even offers himself to spare his brother from Abel's wrath. Fortunately, he and Mordon really mean it.
- Would Hurt a Child: Threatens Abel with bodily-harm when he stood up for Mea, and passes off the idea of crippling him as an accident that could happens to adventurers any day. Subverted as it was a bluff to scare Abel.
Margus Margnor
- Adaptational Backstory Change: In the manga, he was banished from his village because he continued researching magic. And that he believes that the peace-drunk world is rotten for looking down on mages, and want to show everyone the power of demons in his rampage.
- Cargo Ship: In-Universe. Has a really creepy obsession with Zolomonia's staff. He even rubbed his cheeks on the staff. In the webnovel, he screams and shouts at Abel not to touch the staff, while he slowly petrifies.
- Ephebophile: In his Love Hungry state, he can't help but eye Zolomonia, who's disgusted, but willing to use him.
- Et Tu, Brute?: Was utterly baffled when Zolomonia betrayed him and went to Abel in the webnovel. He then goes with a rapid I'll Kill You!.
- Evil Is Not a Toy: The name 'Demon of Knowledge and Destruction' should've tipped him off.
- Evil Redhead: Mentioned in the webnovel to have red hair.
- Evil Sorcerer: Petrifies villagers and townsfolk to show off his powers.
- Fame Through Infamy: Why he turns villages' worth of people to stone? So that people will see them, try and defeat him to break the spell, only for him to turn them too, so that more powerful people will seek to defeat him, and he'll turn them too, making his name known to all.
- Freudian Excuse: In the webnovel, nobody understood him as a child obsessed with demon magic, kicked off from his house at the age of 10 by his parents, thinking he could ruin his sister's marriage. He then joined a crazy Cult of extremists, only to prove even crazier than them, getting him kicked out. So he lived alone, but he Desperately Craves Affection.
- Loners Are Freaks: He's 28 years old, with no friends, let alone a lover.
- No Ontological Inertia: After he's knocked out, his pertification spell was undone and every victim of it was back to normal.
- "Not So Different" Remark: Tries pulling this on Abel in the manga, as he states his motivation and asks him to join him in his cause. Abel does understand and agrees on his situation, but he had people like the Chieftain and Yama-san from his previous life, who respected his interests, but he didn't get to answer him.
- Reformed Criminal: Peter, in gratitude for his service for freeing Zolomonia's staff, visits Margus in prison and offers him a chance to serve him again. Margus accepts with no hesitation, because either he accepts or he'll die, now that He Knows Too Much from the man who has power over even the Dinrat Kingdom's King.
- Taken for Granite: The fate of many of those who crossed him. In the webnovel, Abel gives him a taste of his own medicine after he sabotages his magic circle.
- This Cannot Be!: He shouts that in the webnovel when his petrification curse is misdirected on him and begins turning him to stone.
- Unwitting Pawn: He joined a criminal organization of Kudor religion extremists, Amor, and stole a "Kudor's tentacle" from their leader to free Zolomonia's staff from the monastery housing it. What he didn't know was: that Amor's leader happens to be Peter, who needed someone to free Zolomonia and put it where he could obtain it away from Kudor's followers' eyes, and he did let him steal the tentacle to do the job.
Princess Charlotte Dinrat
Gaston's 'exploits', she comes to Lomarn's Adventurer Support Center to personally appoint him as new Captain of her Elite Guards squad.
The fourth child of the current King Dinrat. After hearing of - Depending Upon the Undependable: Why Gaston suddenly jumped from C-class to semi-A-Class? Charlotte made a handout to the Adventurer Support Center to have him jump ranks before scouting him. Why do all of this? So she could unveil him in the arena and use his fame to boost her image, and her Pride made her refuse to install an adventurer of a rank lower than her brothers' captains' ranks as captain.
- Gone Horribly Right: Her gambit of using Gaston somehow worked and Prince Alphonse's chances to the throne plummeted. However, she'll have to contend with a Fake Ultimate Hero who no longer could claim someone else's work to himself, stuck in a job above his abilities, and will have to spin her Propaganda Machine to make him look like the "Legendary Hero" she made him out to be.
- Horrible Judge of Character: Subverted. The Princess chose Gaston, despite his past bad conduct and behavior, because of his Folk Hero fame, with intention of turning him into a Propaganda Hero for her benefit. But then it is double subverted, as elite guards captains of each Prince are pitted against each other in a Gladiator Games event.
- Hyper-Competent Sidekick: Her previous Captain, Lancelot, who is to be released from service for Gaston to take his place. He foiled an Assassination Attempt on Princess Charlotte by cutting down three of the assailants and taking one prisoner. That made Gaston fears him.
- Politically-Active Princess: While it's done in the background, it's a requirement to be deemed worthy of the throne by the King. Touring the provinces, greeting the allies, and organizing her own Elite Guards.
- Propaganda Machine: To cover her plunder with Gaston, she spreads news that the "Fight" between Gaston and Brian, was such an amazing battle most people didn't understand. The evidence? Brian losing confidence and leaving.
- Rebellious Princess: Zigzagged. Because she was the youngest of his children, King Dinrat didn't consider raising her to be a ruler like his three princes. She was "free at best, or raised rather irresponsibly at worst" and the people didn't have high hopes in her. She agreed with her father's opinion, but then taught herself the necessities of politics, and became a Politically-Active Princess and candidate to the throne, to prevent her oldest brother, Prince Alphonse, from inheriting it.
