Playable Characters

    Mega City Task Force (M.C.T.F.)
A specialized elite task force of highly-trained Agents dedicated toward ridding Mega City of criminal activity. The MCTF is plagued by corruption from the MegaCorp, which Captain has vowed to end.
  • Badass Crew: A team of virtuous, loyal, incorruptible Super Cops who can kill hundreds of criminals without breaking a sweat.
  • Custom Uniform: There doesn't appear to be a standard MCF uniform, as every current member of the Mega City Force is shown wearing different clothing. Body armor doesn't even seem to be a requirement, as is the case with Detective, Captain, Outlaw and Janitor.
  • No Name Given: None of the MCTF Agents in the game have actual names, just words describing them.
  • Not Using the "Z" Word: The MCTF is a designated peacekeeping and law-upholding task force, but is NOT an actual part of Mega City's local police force no matter how much they resemble cops, instead presumably being something similar to the Drug Enforcement Administration or the FBI.
  • One-Man Army: A single Agent can dispatch hundreds upon hundreds of criminals in a single run alone without getting killed.
  • Orwellian Retcon: Back when the game was known as Mega City Police, the MCTF was known as the Mega City Police Department or MCPD, and all its members were explicitly part of Mega City's police force. This aspect of the game was reworked entirely and the entire game rebranded in between the Prison and Factory updates due to concerns that potential players were misinterpreting the game as being "copaganda", leading to the MCPD being Retooled into a specialized crimefighting task force disconnected from actual law enforcement.
  • Super Cop: Even if the MCTF is not and has never been an actual police department of any kind, its Agents are all effectively still this, being insanely skilled and dangerous threats to Mega City's underworld.
  • Token Good Cop: Invoked. Every possible playable character is this, because Captain traveled back in time to assemble a loyal team of Agents who weren't in the MegaCorp's pocket to start purging the city of crime.
Rookie
A kid fresh out of the academy who has pledged to end the corruption within the MCF. He possesses a tactical dash that allows him to get out of danger quickly and a flashbang that can stun his enemies momentarily.
  • Jack of All Stats: Rookie doesn't have any weaknesses, but he also doesn't have any strengths. His abilities are simple panic buttons against danger and he has perfectly average speed and health. Naturally, he's one of the three characters available to the player at the game's start and intended to be the one they familiarize themselves with the game with.
Cyborg
A Full-Conversion Cyborg who still remembers his loyalty to the cause of justice. He has a magnetic pulse that can negate all incoming attacks and stun those around him, as well as an auto-targeting system that allows him to forego aiming for a short period of time.
  • Captain Ersatz: Cyborg is a very obvious one of RoboCop. He has a chrome-plated exterior and a visor helmet and he was turned into a Full-Conversion Cyborg but still has his memories. Even his starting gun looks and functions almost identically to Murphy's iconic burst-fire pistol. The skin you unlock for beating the game on Extreme difficulty with him, "Robohero", removes any plausible deniability since it gives him RoboCop's color scheme and exposed mouth and chin.
  • Improbable Aiming Skills: His auto-targeting system ability allows him to gain this for a short period of time and automatically lock on to an enemy's position.
  • Mighty Glacier: Has the lowest starting speed coupled with the highest base health, a whopping 30, and his playstyle encourages shrugging off less dangerous projectiles since he can't dodge them very well.
Scout
A cop with a personal vendetta against the MegaCorp after they indirectly caused the deaths of her parents. She can briefly use her optical camouflage to turn invisible and activate a laser sight which gives her guaranteed crits.
  • Critical Hit Class: Her Q ability allows her to gain guaranteed crits using her laser sight, which can shred bosses in seconds in the right circumstances
  • Fragile Speedster: Has the lowest base health in the game, but the highest speed, and her whole character is built around getting in and out of danger fast.
  • It's Personal: Her parents were killed by a rare disease stemming from faulty cybernetic augments called Cybersclerosis, which she believes the MegaCorp bought all supply of the cure for so they could keep their monopoly by selling an inferior and less effective product, thus meaning she has a very personal reason for wanting to take them down.
Detective
A sleuth who is convinced that the corruption in the MegaCorp goes all the way up and is determined to uncover it. He can go prone to avoid projectiles and can radio for MCF backup.
  • Badass Normal: When almost every other playable agent has cybernetic upgrades or otherwise enhanced abilities, Detective is just a normal guy and you can feel it in the way he plays. Doesn't stop him from killing just as many criminals as any other Agent, though.
Engineer
A Gadgeteer Genius who has built their own combat drone and is great with fixing Flying Cars. They can briefly create a damage-negating Bubble Shield around themselves and can send out their combat drone to deal devastating damage.
  • Ambiguous Gender Identity: They are the only character in the game to be referred to with they/them pronouns, but it's unclear if they have an Ambiguous Gender or a non-binary one.
  • Attack Drone: Their Q ability is to unleash their flying combat drone, which auto-targets enemies and does surprisingly high damage.
  • Bubble Shield: They can form an unbreakable one around themselves as their spacebar ability.
  • Gadgeteer Genius: It's implied that they built all the tech they use in the field, and given the fact that they're always seen repairing a Flying Car in the MCTF HQ, that they consider themselves responsible for the upkeep of the team's vehicles.
Enforcer
A tough-as-nails agent who was raised by and comes from the streets, capable of both dishing it out and taking it. He can raise his riot shield to prevent himself from taking damage for a time while also preventing himself from attacking, and can also use his shield for a powerful Foe-Tossing Charge.
  • Foe-Tossing Charge: His Q ability allows him to barrel through enemies using one of these combined with his shield, dealing upwards of 20 damage. He's not invulnerable when he does it, though, so it's important to avoid Leeroy Jenkinsing into more danger than he can handle by accident.
  • Luckily, My Shield Will Protect Me: His spacebar ability enables him to block all incoming attacks with his shield for a short period, and can be cancelled with the Q button. He can't use his weapons while the shield is raised, though.
  • Scary Black Man: He's the only agent so far who's explicitly black, and boy is he ever big, tough and ferocious. To really sell the point home, one of his unlockable skins gives him the outfit of B.A. Baracus as played by Mr. T, one of the more famous examples of this trope.
Mercenary
An ex-Yakuza thug who defected to the MCF to avoid having both his arms cut off after the MegaCorp muscled its way into controlling the Yakuza of Japantown. He can use his sword to either deflect incoming projectiles or lunge at his foes for a deadly slash.
  • Ambiguously Brown: His skin is definitely darker than most of the cast, but also nowhere near as dark as the explicitly black Enforcer's, and he was once a part of the Yakuza, meaning he could be anything from Hawaiian to Filipino.
  • Kukris Are Kool: His unlockable weapon is a unique kukri which serves as a marked contrast to several of his teammates and fits well with his overall eastern aesthetic.
  • Parrying Bullets: He can uses his sword to deflect incoming bullets, but prominently not explosives.
  • Western Samurai: Mercenary is a gaijin deftly trained in the ways of the sword.
Captain
The battle-hardened MCF commander who traveled back in time to purge the MCF of corruption from within and rid the streets of crime simultaneously. He can teleport away from danger and re-appear where he chooses, and can call in an MCF airstrike to flatten his enemies.
  • Badass Longcoat: He wears a buttoned-up dress trenchcoat to signify his status as an MCTF Officer.
  • Cool Old Guy: Captain is visibly a lot older than the rest of his MCTF crew, but can still kick just as much ass as the rest of them.
  • Eyepatch of Power: His Tough skin gives him one to make him look even more rugged and badass.
  • Da Chief: He's the captain of possibly the only MCTF squadron remaining still dedicated to the cause of justice, and he'll do anything to see justice carried out.
  • Teleport Spam: His movement ability heavily encourages you to employ this frequently to get Captain out of dangerous spots.
  • Token Good Cop: The original, as it was him going back and time and assembling all the other Agents to fight back against the MegaCorp and its corruption which leads to the events of the game.
Outlaw
A crook formerly unwillingly employed by the MegaCorp whom the MCF recruited due to his hatred of the MegaCorp being greater than his hatred of law enforcement. He specializes in melee weapons, and can give himself an adrenaline shot to boost his attributes for a few seconds as well as throw a random explosive.
  • Batter Up!: His starting weapon is a spiked baseball bat. It's a legendary-tier melee weapon, not only because it counts as both a Sharp and a Blunt object (and can thus deal both Bleeding and Stun) but because it can do 24 damage in a single hit.
  • Boxed Crook: Explicitly so. The MCTF knows he's a criminal, but they're willing to give him a shot on the team thanks to his very really combat skills. He's only going along with it because he hates the MegaCorp more than the MCTF.
Robot
An android designed for administrative tasks that has gained sentience and is willing to help the MCF bring order to the streets. It can spend hitpoints to become invulnerable and gain a massive speed boost for a few seconds, and can also self-repair.
  • Benevolent A.I.: It's been outfitted with an experimental artificial intelligence which granted it sentience, and it's fully loyal to the MCTF cause.
  • Cast from Hit Points: It can spend a bit of health to become Immune to Bullets and much faster for a few seconds.
  • Heal Thyself: Robot is the only Agent thus far who possesses a self-healing ability which regains it lost hitpoints over a few seconds, which couples nicely with its Cast from Hit Points mechanic.
  • Phlebotinum-Proof Robot: It's immune to fire and radiation effects due to being an inorganic being.
  • Token Nonhuman: Robot is the only Agent who is explicitly not a human and is instead an artificial lifeform. Even Janitor is a mutated human but still human nonetheless.
Janitor
A Mutant from the subway tunnels beneath Mega City who is humanoid enough to live among the surface world performing menial labor, and who blames corporate greed for his mutation and thus seeks to destroy the MegaCorp. He can perform a giant leaping Shockwave Stomp to get out of danger as well as employ a spinning attack with his mop which can deal damage and deflect incoming projectiles.
  • Masking the Deformity: Implied: Janitor isn't anywhere near as mutated as other mutants, only possessing a few barely-perceptible lesions on his face (which are the equivalent of a handful of pixels in the game's graphics), but it's suggested he has more revealing deformities underneath his cap and heavy janitor's coat.
  • Shockwave Stomp: His movement ability allows him to do one of these, which momentarily stuns enemies in a radius around it. It also doe 12 damage, so it can even be used offensively.
  • Spin to Deflect Stuff: His spinning mop attack can deflect bullets, but like Mercenary's sword it pointedly cannot deflect explosives.
  • Token Heroic Orc: Janitor is the only Mutant shown in the story to not be a bloodthirsty deformed freak living in the subway tunnels beneath the city, though it's downplayed as his bio suggests there are others like him.

Criminals

    Suburbs
In General
Home to the worst of the worst in Mega City. This neighborhood is filled with deadly punks and thugs who don't like to be bothered by the authorities.

  • Gang of Hats: Visor's gang all dress like '80s-styled futuristic punks—Cyberpunks, if you will— and most of them wear visors over their eyes similar to their boss.
Gunman
Their aim is far from true, but what they lack in skill they make up in numbers. Gunmen are the most common sights on the streets.

  • The Goomba: They're some of the weakest enemies in the game, and certainly the weakest enemies in the Suburbs.
Beater
When you see them coming, you know it's time to beat it, get beaten, or beat their asses. Choose wisely.

  • Smash Mook: They'll do nothing but run at you and try to hit you with heir stunning punches.
Molotov
This isn't what people usually imagine when they say that "The number one reason to quit the M.C.T.F. is burnout".

  • Molotov Cocktail: They'll be throwing these at you, which leave lingering puddles of flame behind that make areas untraversable.
Hood
He seems to like to get up close and personal with his shotgun. Make sure to put him in his place...the ground.

Fanboy
This stylish guy is a fan of many things, just not of the authorities. Beware of the red beams!

  • Frickin' Laser Beams: Their attack is to try and zap you with a hitscan laser that slightly tracks your position.
  • Stealthy Mook: Fanboys are at their most lethal when they're trying to covertly snipe you with their lasers from halfway across the map while taking cover in an alcove.
Visor
Keep your eyes peeled for this augmented ex-mercenary. If you enter his sights, you're entering a world of pain.
The Boss of the Suburbs and the leader of the gang members within it.

    Construction Site
In General
Mega City is an ever-expanding megalopolis. The corporation makes sure the work never stops by handing out bribes to the Construction Syndicate. Safety measures and rules be damned, they sure don't like inspections around here.

  • Gang of Hats: The Construction Syndicate is all styled after construction workers and their equipment.
  • No OSHA Compliance: Invoked; the Construction Site's file describes how they don't care about implementing proper safety as long as they get paid.
Sawbot
Halfway between a tool and a robopet, this relentless machine is great at sawing anything, even nosy M.C.T.F. agents.

  • "Instant Death" Radius: Getting within sawing range of a Sawbot is usually a Game Over unless you're near or at full health due to their insanely fast multi-hitting saw attack.
  • Mecha-Mooks: They are essentially self-propelled semi-autonomous circular saws repurposed for combat.
Nailbot
This cute little guy's programming somehow includes your ass in the list of things to nail down.

  • Mecha-Mooks: Similar to Sawbots, Nailbots are automated nailguns repurposed for combat.
  • Nail 'Em: They will constantly be spitting showers of deadly nails at you.
Sawyer
Sawbots are great, yeah, but even in construction, sometimes you need a human touch. And this guy is very touchy.

  • Pinball Projectile: Sawyers can fire circular sawblades that can bounce up to three times off of surfaces before breaking, making their projectiles much harder to predict.
Torch
Be wary of his torch and even more of his propane tank. One way or another, he'll brighten your day.

  • Video Game Flamethrowers Suck: Their blowtorch is only usable at a very, very short range, and killing them detonates the propane tank on their backs.
Sledge
There's nothing like some old school demolishing. You know the drill, knocking in walls...and teeth...

  • Smash Mook: They serve as the dedicated heavy-hitting melee mooks of the Construction Site, being able to deal a tremendous stunning strike with their hammers.
Exosuit
This beauty has ejectable saws, explosive charges and giant hydraulic arms...get away from him, you idiot!
The boss of the Construction Site.
  • Expy: Of the Power Loaders from Aliens, being a Mini-Mecha intended for construction work but being ultimately employed as a battle mech.
  • King Mook: Exosuit is essentially a much stronger and powered-up Sawyer with additional attacks.
  • Megaton Punch: Stand to close to it and it'll wallop you with a colossal 20-damage punch, which can often One-Hit Kill you.
  • Mini-Mecha: It's a construction exosuit being operated by a smaller human inside it.
  • Pinball Projectile: It possesses a stronger version of the Sawyer's attack, rapidly launching a flurry of bouncing sawblades, which can be a nightmare to deal with in tight corridors.

    Factory
In General
Citizens of the U.C.A. have been turned into obedient consumers; the corporations instilled their many "needs" and the factories must keep manufacturing 24-7 at all costs to fulfill them. But the products you should worry about don't show up in commercials.

  • Gang of Hats: Every enemy in the Factory is weaponized factory equipment or security forces.
Sparkbot
Yet another example of "robotic power tools". Do you find them boring? Well, this one might spark some interest in you.

  • Mecha-Mooks: Like Sawbots and Nailbots in the Construction Site, Sparkbots appear to be automated arc welders repurposed for combat.
Hazmat
Being exposed to radioactive waste will kill you...Being exposed to the assholes who generate it will kill you even faster.

  • Bubble Gun: They have weapons which shoot slow-moving bubbles at you which explode into five smaller projectiles after a short duration.
  • Hazmat Suit: They're wearing these to protect from the large stockpiles of radioactive waste in the Factory, as they're the only human enemies in it.
Security Drone
The Factory management to will go to any lengths to keep what happens in the Factory a secret...And you have seen too much already.

  • Attack Drone: They're automated security drones which can fire missiles at you.
Loaderbot
True American engineering! You can always count on this robot when something needs loading, unloading, moving..or removing.

  • Mecha-Mooks: They are repurposed cargo loader robots programmed to throw crates at intruders.
Industrial Robot
This robotic arm is equipped with a top of the line laser that can assemble products as well as disassemble invaders.

  • Frickin' Laser Beams: Their mode of attack is to slowly cast a powerful laser in a wide arc across the thr room they're stationed in.
Beta
Why would you trust a machine when you can trust a man inside a machine? Clearly this one still has some bugs...
The boss of the Factory.
    Ruins
In General
The oldest parts of the city just get abandoned by the authorities when there's no more money to be made. So until a new construction project comes along, this wasteland is just home to outlaws and bandits.

Knifeman
Someone told them they weren't the sharpest tool in the shed... they didn't understand and took it way too literally.

  • Psycho Knife Nut: They'll constantly be trying to cut you to ribbons with their knives.
Biker
These trigger-happy fellas like motorbikes, automatic guns and getting in trouble. Help them with the last one!

  • Badass Biker: They're cycling enthusiasts with a propensity for crime and shooting stuff.
  • Elite Mooks: Essentially stronger versions of Gunmen, being bog-standard ranged Mooks who shoot slightly more projectiles.
Hunter
Watch out if you don't wanna end up hanging from a wall like a trophy in this guy's house. Citizens are his favorite prey.

  • Enhanced Archaic Weapon: They use spread-shot slug-thrower crossbows similar to the slug-throwers and crossbows you can pick up.
Hockey
Always ready for a fight! But deep down he just wants to play with you. Too bad for you that means using you as a puck.

  • I Know Madden Kombat: They're implied to get their combat experience from playing hockey, a notoriously violent contact sport.
  • Smash Mook: Much like Sledges, they do nothing but run towards you and try to melee hit you. Unlike Sledges, they can actually leap at you from a distance.
Pyro
He's got a warm personality, but unless you like getting really tan, I'd recommend steering clear of him.

  • Gas Mask Mook: They wear respiratory masks to avoid inhaling smoke.
  • Video Game Flame Throwers Suck: Averted. Pyros are some of the deadliest and hardest-to-deal-with enemies in the Ruins due to their flamethrowers being exceptionally hard to avoid.
Bucket and Spade
His brother got the brains, but he's got plenty of brawn. He can handle his rocket launcher like a peashooter.
Bucket's file
Some say he's the smart twin. And you can't deny that he's got the math right when it comes to bullets..."Moar!"
Spade's file
The twin bosses of the Ruins.
  • BFG: Bucket carries a huge bazooka which can deal upwards of 20 damage in a single hit if one of its rockets hits you.
  • Dual Boss: You have to fight both of them at the same time, and their abilities compliment each other rather well.
  • Gatling Good: Spade's weapon of choice is a huge minigun that he sprays bullets across their arena with.
  • Sibling Team: They're twin brothers and partners in crime.
  • More Dakka: This is Spade's philosophy when it comes to bullets, and he makes good on it with his gatling gun.

    Prison
In General
In an overpopulated crime-ridden state such as Mega City, the penitentiary system is always at the verse of collapse. The prison is stuck in a never-ending riot, and the best the warden can hope for is to keep the breakouts to a minimum.

  • Gang of Hats: All the Prison enemies have either orange jumpsuits or part of them on their person.
  • Prison Riot: The Prison is trapped in a never-ending one, and all the guards who could restore order have been visibly murdered.
Brawler
Beware their improvised weapons. Nothing fancy about them but you will find their strength is numbers.

  • Underground Monkey: Basically the same enemy as Beaters and Knifemen, being relatively weak melee Mooks who pose a greater threat when they're swarming you.
Bullseye
Criminals tend to have a few tricks up their sleeve...this one takes it to the next level by also having knives in there.

  • Psycho Knife Nut: They'll constantly be throwing knives at you with disturbing precision.
Arsonist
Some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money...Some men just want to watch the world burn.

  • Elite Mooks: They are essentially just slightly stronger versions of Molotovs from the Suburbs.
Slasher
¡Que onda! This bad boy carries his trusty machete wherever he goes, so...¡Ándate con cuidado, amigo!

Maneater
Try guessing what he had for breakfast...Now, do not cross his path if you do not want to become his seconds.

  • Expy: Of Hannibal Lecter, being cannibals who wind up being tightly restrained but display a disturbing amount of speed as well.
  • I'm a Humanitarian: It's right there in their name, "maneater".
  • Lightning Bruiser: Their only attack is to charge directly at you with frightening speed, dealing high damage and stunning you if they connect.
Psycho
The definition of insanity is to do the same thing over and over and expect different results. Who is crazy now?

  • Chainsaw Good: They somehow got access to chainsaws inside a prison, and are fiercely effective fighters with them.
  • Hockey Mask and Chainsaw: They present themselves as such, clearly evoking this trope. Letting them get too close will allow them to swing their chainsaws at you for a deadly stunning melee strike.
Boxer
Watch out for his 1-2-1-2...No clue what that means? He will be happy to "hook" you up with some boxing lessons.

  • Black Boxer Stereotype: It's no coincidence that the only boxer enemy in the game just happens to be a gigantic black guy.
  • Boxing Battler: It's right there in their name, and their four hit punch combo is deadly.
  • Fight Bell Hijinks: Killing them causes a fight bell dinging sound effect to play.
  • Smash Mook: One of the deadliest of such Mooks in the game, as they can unleash four hits in quick succession, which is almost always lethal.
Musclehead
When this disproportionate brute is not in the gym, you can find him cracking heads open...and today is legs day!

  • Giant Mook: They stand much taller than all other enemies in the Prison besides King, have a ton of health and can beat you to a pulp with their dumbbells.
King
He's got plenty of swag, he's got lots of bling, he's pretty mad, and around here... he is also King. (Ode to the crown)
The boss and self-proclaimed monarch of the Prison.

    Japantown
In General
Home to the Yakuza, this was once the entertainment hub of Mega City, and even with the Yakuza around things used to be better. Now the Yakuza have a new master that knows nothing of honor and way too much about revenue.

  • Only in It for the Money: The Yakuza possess no scruples and have been bought out by the MegaCorp, acting as nothing more than hired stooges for them now.
  • Yakuza: Duh. In a district called "Japantown", of course all the criminals are going to be the Japanese equivalent of the mob.
Hitter
He's learned to "Hit hard, hit fast, and hit a lot." You just happen to be around for practice.

  • Batter Up!: They all wield steel baseball bats.
  • Elite Mooks: Another variation on the basic Beater/Knifeman/Brawler Mooks which only have a melee attack and rush you in numbers, though they are slightly more resilient.
Suit
Whether the business is to collect tribute or shoot you down, he's always ready to do business.

  • Underground Monkey: Essentially the exact same as Bikers, but they shoot slightly more projectiles.
Cyber-Ninja
Part ninja, part machine...Are you jealous? He's more than happy to split you into parts too.

  • Cyber Ninja: Obviously. They're the Yakuza's elite ninja outfitted with heavy cybernetic augments.
  • Stealthy Mook: Their whole strategy is to sneak up on you while partially invisible and slash at you when it's too late to react, so it's important to keep your eyes peeled in Japantown and see them coming.
Akimbo
You know what's better than one gun? Two! If you didn't laugh, just wait until he explains it to you.

  • Guns Akimbo: They perpetually hold both their guns like this.
Sumotori
If you've ever been hit by a truck, you know you should steer clear of this guy. If not, you'll find out soon enough.

  • Foe-Tossing Charge: They'll charge at you with alarming speed as their attack, dealing tons of damage if they crash into you.
  • Giant Mook: They're a lot larger than any other Japantown enemy, barring Oni.
The Yōkai (Kitsune, Tengu and Oni)
They say this Yōkai is as deadly as she is pretty under the mask, so don't be fooled by her good looks.
Kitsune's file
The harbinger of war. This Yōkai will make you think twice before waging war against the Yakuza.
Tengu's file
This brutish ogre is the meanest of the Yōkai. He rarely needs to strike twice with his kanabo.
Oni's file
The triumvirate leaders of the Yakuza and the ensemble of bosses of Japantown.
  • The Brute: Oni is the strong guy of the trio, being a massive Mighty Glacier who wields a gigantic kanabo.
  • Carry a Big Stick: Oni wields an oversized kanabo just as Oni are said to in Japanese mythology, and can deal some serious damage with it.
  • Guns Akimbo: Tengu always holds his guns like this when he's not shooting them, similar to Akimbos.
  • More Dakka: Tengu is capable of hip-firing two LMGs and sending a hail of bullets in your direction.
  • The Sneaky Guy: Downplayed. Kitsune mostly fills this role in the group with her ninja abilities, but she doesn't try to sneak attack you and usually charges you directly.
  • Wolfpack Boss: You have to fight all three of them at once. Luckily, it's pretty easy to aggro them one at a time to avoid getting overwhelmed.
  • Youkai: Each of them styles themself after and wears a mask representing a different mythological Japanese spirit; Kitsune resembles the mischievous fox spirit, Tengu evokes the cranky bird spirit and Oni represents the cruel demon-ogre.

    Tunnels
In General
Whether due to the city's toxic waste or the radiation levels beyond the wall, the darkest corners of Mega City are crawling with things that can no longer be called humans. Very few have seen them and lived to tell the story.

  • Human Subspecies: The Tunnels' file says they can no longer be considered human, and in the case of some of that that's readily apparent.
  • Nuclear Mutant: The Mutants of the tunnels have all been horrifically mutated from radiation pousoning due to years of living in the irradiated underground.
Kamikaze
With a total lack of self-preservation, they will go out with a bang, in hopes of entering the Mutant Valhalla.

  • Suicide Attack: They will rush at you before lighting sticks of dynamite when they get close and try to blow both you and themselves up.
Spitter
Something these gluttons ate made them sick...Be careful of the way they relieve their heartburn.

  • Zombie Puke Attack: Spitters are especially dangerous mutants due to their ability to launch gobs of irradiated slime at you which make parts of the floor untraversable, and also leave behind a puddle of the stuff when they die.
Flare Freak
This skinny freak would love to show you the light and you are about to brighten his day...quite literally.

  • Flare Gun: They have these as weapons, which can deal fire damage if they hit you.
Butcher
The tunnel dwellers also need to eat, luckily when they come across surface people...meat's back on the menu, boys!

  • The Butcher: They fit this epithet perfectly with their greasy smocks and meat cleaver weapons.
Hunchback
If ignorance is the key to happiness, then this one must be the happiest guy alive. Just don't cross his path.

  • Elite Mooks: Essentially just slightly stronger versions of the Sumotori enemy from Japantown.
  • Foe-Tossing Charge: This is their only means of attack, barreling directly at you.
Cyclops
What this cyclopean mutant lacks in eyes, he makes up for in strength; once he sets his eye on you, he won't let go.

  • Classical Cyclops: These cyclopes are brutish and sluggish but powerful mutants.
  • Giant Mook: They are much bigger than other mutants barring Golem, and have health to match.
  • Mighty Glacier: They're only capable of walking very slowly toward you, but they have a lot of health and will they ever pummel you if they reach you.
Golem
His mutation is out of control, and his body constantly generates rock-like lumps. He will, he will rock you!
The leader of the mutants and the boss of the Tunnels.
  • Dishing Out Dirt: A gross variation. He's capable of throwing large handfuls of rocks at you by ripping them off his body.
  • Golem: Not technically a golem, but designed to heavily evoke one.
  • Rock Monster: He's covered in rocklike tumors that give him this appearance, and he collapses into a pile of rocks upon being defeated.

    MegaCorp
In General
Headquarters to the largest member of the United Corporations of America. Also the tallest and safest building in Mega City. Not to mention the reason a lucky few get richer while most barely have enough to last through tomorrow.

  • Big Bad: Like many other classic Cyberpunk stories, the MegaCorp is portrayed as being the true mastermind behind all the crime in Mega City and using it as a means to an end to pursue even more power for themselves.
  • Corporate Conspiracy: Their machinations are the reason that the MCTF is so corrupt and ineffective, and why Captain has assembled a team of incorruptible agents to bring them to justice.
  • Corporate Warfare: The MegaCorp's headquarters are protected by their crack corporate security force who will stop at nothing to prevent you from breaching its walls.
  • MegaCorp: Obviously. They've got their hands in every criminal operation in Mega City, and it's your job to take them down.
Rifleman
He's ready to die for the Corporation (as Article 42, Section 9, Paragraph C of their contract clearly states.

  • Elite Mooks: Basically just stronger versions of Suits from Japantown who shoot even more projectiles.
Sniper
There are three things he's certain of: His aim, his paycheck, and his death. Which one comes up first is up to you.

  • Crosshair Aware: Before they shoot, a laser sight will appear showing you where the bullet is coming from so you can dodge it.
Bomberman
When blowing things up is part of the job description, remember you might end up being one of those things.

Mace
Pure brawn has its advantages, at least for his employer. Looks like he didn't read the fine print about the weapons budget.

  • Carry a Big Stick: Their weapons of choice are huge truncheons.
  • Mighty Glacier: Their very slow speed is offset by their high health.
  • Smash Mook: They will relentlessly pursue you down and try to beat you with their maces.
Gunner
Inside his hulking armor he feels safer than his colleagues, but they don't call it a coffin for no reason.

Mech
A bipedal weapons platform prototype operated by a single pilot.
The boss of the MegaCorp, and the Final Boss of the game.
  • Bullet Hell: Most of its attacks cover the screen in bullets or rapidly-firing lasers.
  • Frickin' Laser Beams: It has both a rapid-fire laser attack and a persistent beam that you must dodge.
  • Macross Missile Massacre: One of its attacks is to unleash a hail of homing missiles at you.
  • Mini-Mecha: It's a bipedal mech operated by a single MegaCorp goon.
  • Stationary Boss: Despite being a mech, it doesn't actually move around at all during the fight and stands completely in place.
