Mirari

    open/close all folders

    General
  • Adaptational Heroism: Mirari and the Heroism Grand Prix are based off of the Desire Grand Prix from Kamen Rider Geats, but completely lacks the dark undercurrent and villainous motivations behind the latter, being entirely genuine.
  • The Dark Times: Experienced one thousands of years ago when one of Mirari's greatest villains, Pollentia the All-Powerful Empress rose to power, took over the land, conquered a continent-spanning empire and reigned for thousands of years. It was only ended by the efforts and sacrifices of the Mirarian Pantheon, their allies and generations of heroes, champions and other benevolent forces. It's implied it wasn't the only one Mirari experienced, if a particularly infamous one.
  • End of an Age: Mirari once experienced a golden age thousands of years ago when its heroes and champions became so good at battling and containing evil that it became virtually impossible for evil to threaten the land. Unfortunately, it led to increasing corruption and stagnation towards its end as the lack of effective challenges from evil to define them the heroes began to lose their moral compass, causing havoc as they turn on each other and allowing a new generation of villains to emerge to make matters worse. All this culminated in the rise of a particularly powerful and dangerous villainess in the form of Pollentia, the All-Powerful Empress who would go on to end the golden age by taking over Mirari and reign over a millennia-spanning era of darkness.
  • Superhero Capital of the World: Mirari's socio-cultural emphasis on heroism led to the kingdom becoming this for Equus in the Fourth Age, having preserved and continued the superheroic eras of the Second Age well into the present with a high number of champions and heroes, super or otherwise.

Mirarian Pantheon

    General
  • The Champion: The Mirarian Pantheon's members each choose a divine champion for the Heroism Grand Prix when it starts, empowering them to become superheroes.
  • The Chooser of the One: Each of the Mirarian Pantheon's members can choose a champion for the Heroism Grand Prix, empowering them to become superheroes.
  • Götterdämmerung: Nearly experienced one during the rise of Pollentia, the All-Powerful Empress who defeated and devoured the older generation of gods in her ascension. Fortunately the younger generation managed to escape and regroup to wage a long war that would ultimately free their homeland from Pollentia's might.

  • Always Identical Twins: Subverted: Omorfiá and Skiá are fraternal twin sisters. While they do look alike, Omorfiá is bright pink while Skiá has black feathers.
  • Anti-Hero: Skiá has a preference for anti-heroic types who are driven by a hatred of evil, often dark and brooding. However, she draws a line at the Poenan Pantheon's brand of justice.

  • The Power of Hate: She's a Goddess of Hatred and Wrath, and thus has powers revolving around it. However, she represents the hatred of that which is evil. She gives Mirthful Stone a boon to help him better utilize his anger properly and control his Niliq form.

  • The Magnificent: Known as "the Skunk of Image".

    Sceleratus, the Queen of Villains

Classification: ???

Portfolio: Evil, Villainy, Antagonists

Rank: [TBA]

Affiliation: Mirarian Pantheon

Sceleratus (first introduced here) is the Minotaur-Giganticorn hybrid Goddess of Evil, Villainy, and Antagonists, and the daughter of Astus, the Lying Empyrean.
  • Adaptational Heroism: She's based off Beroba from Kamen Rider Geats, but whereas Beroba is a straight sadistic psychopath doing everything for fun, Sceleratus is more interested in making things 'narratively satisfying' than causing harm out of malice. She's also very much a Fair-Play Villain.
  • A Form You Are Comfortable With: She prefers appearing in the form of a high schooler, either a pony or minotaur usually, as her true form is both so huge she towers above the cloud layer and terrifying to behold. Needless to say, it would make talking with others difficult, and thus she only drops the facade when she wants to intimidate someone or is casually with other gods.
  • Balance Between Good and Evil: Sceleratus believes that both heroes that face no challenges and unbeatable villains are boring and 'narratively unsatisfying.' As such, she provides villains to face heroes and ensures villains aren't so strong as to be impossible to defeat.
  • Blue-and-Orange Morality: Sceleratus does not see the world in terms 'good and evil', but 'narratively satisfying and dissatisfying'. She views heroes who face no antagonist or villain able to challenge them as uninteresting and boring, but also views an overpowered villain as equally uninteresting and boring.
  • Cain and Abel: It turns out she's the Cain to Virtus' Abel. Downplayed, as they're Friendly Enemies at worst.
  • Card-Carrying Villain: Played With: she's fully aware of the fact she's a villain, but in her mind good and evil don't really factor in very much. Rather her worldview divides things into "narratively satisfying and narratively unsatisfying".
  • The Dreaded: She's potentially the only being in the country that rivals Pollentia in terms of being feared by all except Virtus her brother. Even the most egotistical villains are scared to earn her wrath, as she's likely the single most powerful and dangerous being in the entire nation.
  • Even Evil Has Standards:
    • Despite her Blue-and-Orange Morality, there are things she views as genuinely abhorrent and refuses to be an accessory to. One of these is violation of Primeval Law.
    • Sceleratus is a 'Constructive Evil' deity, and thus views evil as having a purpose to serve. Despite her Blue-and-Orange Morality, she still doesn't see a purpose for villains causing needless harm without any 'narrative reason'.
  • Evil Is Bigger: Given she's a giant divine, her true form is gigantic, being so huge that most of her is above the cloud layer.
  • Evil Is Not a Toy: Foggy Night's Abusive Parents tried to summon Sceleratus and make a new Deal with the Devil with her to continue chasing their daughter. Sceleratus proceeded to laugh in their faces, mock them for having served their purpose in Foggy's story and thus being of no use to her, and then gives them a 'narratively satisfying' ending by executing them herself.
  • Fair-Play Villain: A defining aspect of her personality: Sceleratus creates villains and antagonists, but at her core, she wants things to be "narratively satisfying". In her mind, a villain or antagonist that the heroes can't beat is boring. As such, she ensures the enemies she sponsors have weaknesses or flaws to make fighting them fair. This includes holding back if she takes the stage as the villain herself. She also refuses to grant any abilities that would break Primeval Law, finding such acts loathsome and in poor taste.
  • Friendly Enemy: She and Virtus are on surprisingly good terms with each other despite him being the 'Forger of Heroes' and her being the "Queen of Villains". They're also brother and sister.
  • Greater-Scope Villain: As the 'Queen of Villains,' she's responsible for empowering or patroning a great many other villains in Mirari and beyond.
  • Invincible Villain: Subverted hard. She dislike them due to believing them to be 'narratively unsatisfying' in her Blue-and-Orange Morality. She holds back whenever she decide to act as the villain in order to give heroes a chance to win against her, and always introduce weaknesses to villains she sponsored which heroes could exploit.
  • The Magnificent: Known as "the Queen of Villains".
  • Person of Mass Destruction: She's capable of casually leveling entire kingdoms if she's in the mood to. Fortunately, she normally holds back when she decides to be the main threat herself.
  • Take Our Word for It: The audience has never witnessed her true form, but the characters who see it are generally left utterly terrified by whatever they're seeing except her brother Virtus.
  • Token Evil Teammate: While technically a member of the Mirarian Pantheon (if only because she's too powerful for them to give the boot), she's genuinely evil and creates villains instead of heroes. That said, she's 'Constructive Evil' rather than destructive.
  • Willfully Weak: Sceleratus intentionally holds back if she decides to step in as the main threat herself. This is because, in her words, "no one likes an overpowered Author Avatar".
  • World's Strongest Man: She's likely the single most powerful being in all of Mirari. It's noted the Pantheon couldn't get rid of her even if they wanted to, implying she exceeds the power of the entire rest of the Mirarian Pantheon combined.
  • You Have Outlived Your Usefulness: She doesn't see any reason in giving further aid to villains who have outlived their "narrative purpose". This is shown when Foggy Night's abusive birth parents tried to make a deal with her after their defeat: she proceeded to laugh in their faces and execute them instead, as being done in by their own actions was the only "narratively satisfying" thing she could do to them at that point.

Splash Page Heartstrings, the Alicorn/Author of Legacies

Classification: Ethereal/Ascendant

Portfolio: Heroes, Legacies, Stories

Rank: Divine (Tier IV/Greater)

Affiliation: Mirarian Pantheon (main), Caerulidae

Splash Page Heartstrings is the Alicorn god of Heroes, Legacies, and Stories, and is one of Blue Suede Heartstrings' older children.

The Heroic Trinity

The Heroic Trinity (first introduced here) is a trio of legendary Mirarian heroes who were the leaders of the last group of benevolent forces who fought to defeat Pollentia, the All-Powerful Empress and free Mirari and other lands from her millennia-long reign of darkness. Against all odds, they succeeded where countless generations of mortals and even gods preceding them had failed, sealing Pollentia away in the Final Battle and in the process ascended to godhood. Now they watch over Mirari alongside the other members of the Mirarian Pantheon, guiding them towards heroism and keep vigilant for the potential return of their great enemy.
    General
  • Arch-Enemy: They spent their mortal lives fighting against Pollentia and were the ones who finally defeated her.
  • Beyond the Impossible: In-Universe, their victory over Pollentia and ending her millennia-long reign of darkness was seen as this. Before them, countless generations of heroes, champions and other benevolent mortals and gods had tried and failed to overthrow her, with all of them being ultimately defeated and devoured by the seemingly Invincible Villain. Yet the Heroic Trinity showed she could still be beaten and actually did so.
  • Power Trio: Three among the greatest heroes of Mirari, the Heroic Trinity collectively fought against the Mirarian Empire and defeated the mighty villainous god-empress who ruled it.

Fleeting World/White Fox, the First King of Heroes

Classification: ???

Portfolio: Creation, Heroes, Wishes

Rank: [TBA]

Affiliation: Mirarian Pantheon

White Fox, born Fleeting World, is the Great Fox god of Creation, Heroes, and Wishes, and is a member of the Mirarian Pantheon.
  • Awesome Moment of Crowning: Was proclaimed the 'First King of Heroes' of Mirari for defeating Pollentia and freeing Mirari from her grasp.
  • Deity of Human Origin: Would ascend to demigodhood (and later, full godhood), becoming the God of Creation, Heroes, and Wishes.
  • It's Personal: Fleeting World's mother was one of Pollentia's many victims, which motivated him to become a hero in order to avenge her.
  • The Leader: Of the Heroic Trinity and the last generation of heroic forces who fought to stop Pollentia, the All-Powerful Empress.
  • So Proud of You: Impressed beyond measure by Red Velvet/Neon Nova's selflessness by sacrificing her civilian identity to stop Heavy Metal Tyrant, he personally appeared before her on the stage where the showdown happened and granted her a wish which infused her music with actual power.

    Caring Blossom/Shadow Sword

    Neon Lights/Fantastic Beat

Allies and Associates

    Valeur, the Prince of Valour

Classification: Ascendant/Ethereal

Portfolio: Resolve, Valour, Passion

Rank: Divine (Tier III/Intermediate)

Affiliation: Mirarian Empire (Formerly), Pollentiae (Heroic), Mirarian Pantheon (Associate)

"Heroes are defeated when they lose their resolve, valour and passion. But so long as they keep them, Villains will never prevail."

Prince Valeur (His entry here) is a heroic scion of the infamous Pollentia, the All-Powerful Empress. Despite being one of Pollentia's many sons, he took more after his heroic father, and became renowned for his resolve, valour and passion as a hero fighting against his own mother's conquests and villainy. At the present he's one of the more notable heroic Pollentiae, supporting and inspiring heroes both in and outside Mirari.
  • Antagonistic Offspring: Being one of the more heroic Pollentiae, Valeur turned on his mother and fought for centuries against her rule despite them still loving each other.
  • Caged Inside a Monster: His fate after finally being defeated after centuries of fighting against Pollentia, being consumed by his mother like she already did his father and comrades. Despite this, he continued fighting against her.
  • Defector from Decadence: Used to serve his mother alongside his other siblings, but was heavily influenced by and took more after his more heroic brethren and his heroic mortal father. His father's defeat and devouring by his mother precipitated a long-simmering crisis of conscience which finally led to him turning on Pollentia as a heroic demigod.
  • The Determinator: One of his defining characteristics is his resolve, which he inherited from his father, vowing to never give up no matter how bleak and hopless the situation out of the view so long as heroes never lose their resolve, valour and passion the villains can never truly win. He fought for centuries against his mother's villainy, and even after he was defeated and devoured he continued to fight on inside of her.
  • Eaten Alive: Was, like countless other heroes, gods and other forces who stood against Pollentia, devoured by her when he was finally defeated after centuries of defiance and battles. It barely slowed him down as he continued to protect those she devoured inside her endless innards and look for a way to escape or help bring about her downfall.
  • Our Giants Are Bigger: Is a Giganticorn, owing to being the son of the even bigger Pollentia, although his mother was not a natural-born one or even a Giant when she started out.
  • Really Gets Around: Having inherited his mother's passion and as a god of Passion, Valeur also inherited her lust, and is noted to have sired many scions with many partners, many of whom would take after him and become renowned heroes. It's also confirmed in both his and Pollentia's entry that he's not above incest like his mother was and slept with her, his siblings and his children.
  • Worthy Opponent: Mixed with So Proud of You, but Valeur was this for Pollentia, with his mother respecting, admiring and even loving Valeur (in more ways than one) for his strength of character and skill despite their conflict owing to her powermongering character, given Valeur managed to defy her for centuries despite being completely outmatched. This goes to the point that she defended his honour from one of his villainous siblings right after she defeated and devoured him, and still speak fondly of him to this day.
  • Villainous Incest: While Valeur is not villainous, it is confirmed that he slept with his mother and siblings when he was still serving her and even afterwards, having inherited his mother's passionate nature as well as being raised in an environment where this is considered acceptable. Helps that her mother was considered smoking hot by most standards.

Superheroes

Heroism Grand Prix Participants

    General

Neon Lights

    Red Velvet/Neon Nova

Character: Heroic

Alignment: Neutral Good

Type: Divine Champion, Giraffe, Popstar, Diva

Faction: Mirari, the Neon Lights

"Let's shine on, every-creature!"

Neon Nova, real name Red Velvet (her entry here), is a Mirarian Giraffe popstar who becomes the superhero Neon Nova.
  • Alliterative Name: Her superheroine alias is Neon Nova.
  • Admiring the Poster: She has a poster of a superhero named Iron Guardian on her ceiling above her bed. Her friend Foggy Night questions if she has it there because of a crush and to "fantasize". Red Velvet is understandably embarrassed by the implications. Red's mother would later confirm Foggy was correct.
  • Arch-Enemy: She has one in the form of Mic Drop/Heavy Metal Tyrant, a supervillain who terrorized her mother when she was a calf and escapes to menace her after she becomes a superhero.
  • Caught with Your Pants Down: Her mother Vanilla Velvet implies talking with Foggy she's caught Red Velvet masturbating to her poster of Iron Guardian, or at least is aware she does it. A bit more positive than most examples, as Vanilla just mentions it to show Foggy it's a completely natural thing that Vanilla has no problems with it while Foggy is terrified of being punished for it.
  • Covert Pervert: Red Velvet is a total sweetheart who helps everyone, is generous to a fault, and doesn't have a mean bone in her. She also has posters of Iron Guardian and apparently other male superheroes on her ceiling she plays with herself admiring and doesn't want anyone to know.
  • Genial Giraffe: She's a giraffe, and also an extremely kind sweetheart.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: While not sacrificing her life (but willing to do so), she sacrificed her civilian life by revealing her true identity before her audience in order to defeat Heavy Metal Tyrant when he managed to hold her and her band in their civilian identities hostage, knowing it's either that or waiting for a rescue that might not come which would put not only herself but all her friends and audience in danger.
  • Karmic Jackpot: For her willingness to sacrifice her civilian life to stop Heavy Metal Tyrant, Fleeting World/White Fox the King of Heroes personally granted her a wish/boon which empowered her music and allowed her to finally defeat her and her mother's Arch-Enemy.
  • Light 'em Up: Her primary power as Iconique's Champion.
  • Magic Music: Fading World rewards her sacrificing her Secret Identity to protect herself and her concertgoers from Heavy Metal Tyrant with magical music powers.
  • Master of Illusion: One of her primary powers as Iconique's champion is creating illusions.
  • Paying It Forward: She admires superheroes and ultimately becomes one due to her family being saved from Heavy Metal Tyrant by the modern Fantastic Beat when she was a calf.

    Foggy Night Velvet/Countess Midnight

Character: Heroic

Alignment: Chaotic Good

Type: Superhero, Popstar, 'False Vampire', Music Mage, Great Fox

Faction: Mirari, the Neon Lights

Foggy Night (her entry here) is the bassist of the Neon Lights and Red Velvet's adopted sister.

  • Caught with Your Pants Down:
  • Dark and Troubled Past: Her life with her parents before coming to Mirari was nightmarishly abusive and traumatic.
  • Groin Attack:
    • Recounts how her Abusive Parents reacted to catching her masturbating once by her father kicking her in the groin as part of the beating she received for doing something 'sinful.'
    • While not drawn attention to, it's noted the chastity belt her parents forced her to wear constantly left her with abrasion scars over her pelvic area.
  • Happily Adopted: After her parents are defeated, she accepts Vanilla Velvet's offer to be adopted. She'd already accepted the Velvets' as her adopted family, it just made it official.
  • "L" Is for "Dyslexia": Subverted: Foggy Night is dyslexic, but it's described more realistically rather than the sterotype.
  • The Runaway: Foggy Night ran away from home to escape her Abusive Parents. It's noted she didn't stop running until she made it to Mirari, a very long distance, out of desperation to never get caught by her parents.
  • Scars Are Forever: Foggy has numerous scars from being physically abused by her parents.
  • Undying Loyalty: Foggy Night is incredibly loyal to her best friend and adopted sister, Red Velvet, due to her being the first person to ever show her genuine compassion. Even when confronted by her Abusive Parents, who she is utterly terrified of, she refused to abandon Red Velvet and kept fighting her parents until she eventually won.

    Lunar Tides/Gravity Wave

    Oliver/Phantom Angel

    Trommel/Metal Crusher

Gattai Gendarme

First mentioned in a Drabble, the Gattai Gendarme is one of many superheroic Super Robot pilots and mechas in Mirari, notable for the incredible combination diversity and capabilities of their Combining Mecha.
    General
  • Alien Invasion: Fought off multiple ones among the roster of threats they faced.
  • Greater-Scope Paragon: Despite the issues they initially faced, the Gattai team managed to overcome them partly thanks to help from not only other heroic mecha teams and pilots, but enthusiastic support from the Mirarian Pantheon itself.
  • How Do I Shot Web?: The Gattai team was initially hampered as much by their ignorance of what their mechas can do as well as other issues, although they managed to learn enough in time to save the day(s)
  • Kaiju: Among the many foes they fought include many giant monsters.
  • Rag Tag Bunch Of Misfits: The pilots don't get along well at first, but eventually their heroic natures shine through and they managed to work together to save the day with their respective mecha(s).
  • Supervillain: In addition to giant monsters and alien invaders, the Gattai team often have to contend with
  • Well-Trained, but Inexperienced: While they are implied to be well-trained, their raw inexperience initially caused problems for the team on top of everything else, but they managed to pull through.

    Gattai Gendarme (Mecha)
The signature combined Super Robot itself, the Gattai Gendarme is noted to be remarkable even by Combining Mecha standards.
  • Combining Mecha: Gettai Gendarme mecha is notable for their extreme diversity of 'Gattai' combinations, with each machine being a 'Super-Vehicle' with its own unique strengths (and weaknesses), able to combine together into mechas with vague resemblance (whether deliberate or coincidental) of each of the pilots' races. Beyond the five combinations that are most widely used, it is speculated that there could be up to twenty-five other possible 'main' combos, with additional Gattai combinations possible especially when accessories and upgrades are taken into account.
  • Meaningful Name: 'Gattai' means 'Combine' in Japanese and Gendarme means 'Constable' in French, keeping with its theme of being a combining mecha created for good and heroic to pilot to protect the world from evil and villainy.
  • Magitek: Gattai Gendarme is built with both technology and magic, albeit of yet-known nature.
  • Mysterious Past: Much of its background remains mysterious. Its built with technology and magic of an unknown nature, and it's not even clear whether it was built or found in Mirari or somewhere else.

Other

    Fantastic Beat (Modern)

  • Big Damn Heroes: He arrived to defeat Mic Drop/Heavy Metal Tyrant before he could rape Vanilla Velvet, arresting the supervillain.
  • Legacy Character: The original Fantastic Beat is his distant ancestor, he's the current bearer of the mantle.

    Vanilla Velvet
Vanilla Velvet is Red Velvet and Foggy Night Velvet's mother, and a retired music star.
  • Alliterative Name: Vanilla Velvet.
  • Good Parents: Vanilla Velvet loves her daughter dearly, is encouraging, accepting, and overall a good mother. She extends this to Foggy Night both before and after adopting her.
  • Open-Minded Parent: When Foggy Night is terrified Vanilla will punish her when the giraffe caught her masturbating (as her parents did to her), Vanilla calms her down, asserts she sees nothing wrong with it (and in fact is aware Red Velvet uses her poster of Iron Guardian for that purpose, and Vanilla did the same thing when she was their age). In the same conversation, she also subtly makes it clear she's accepting if someone is gay or asexual.

Supervillains

    Pollentia, the All-Powerful Empress

Classification: Ascendant/Ethereal/Elemental, Dark, Devourer, Victorious Villain (Formerly)

Portfolio: Might, Ambition, Conquest, Dominion, Passion, many other Domains

Rank: Divine (???)

Affiliation: Herself, the Pollentian/Mirarian Empire (Formerly)

"If you have power, why not use it? And if others have power, why not take it? The world is the playground of the mighty, SO BE THE MIGHTIEST OF ALL!"

Prideful, passionate and powerhungry in the extreme, Pollentia, the All-Powerful Empress (Her entry here) was one of the greatest villains to ever arise in Mirarian history, feared to the point that she is dreaded even in present day Mirari, and drastic changes occurred to prevent another one like her from rising again and to prepare future generations for her potential return.
  • Affably Evil: Pollentia is noted to possess many surprisingly affable traits for all her genuine evil, such as respecting even the weakest who never give up, encouraging the meek to become mighty, relishing worthy challenges, and genuinely attracted to and loving those who tried to or even managed to stand against her.
  • Amazonian Beauty: She is noted to be beautiful, and also prodigous in both power and proportions.
  • Ambition Is Evil: Her lust for power knows few bounds, and is one of the greatest villains to ever arise in Mirarian history.
  • Ancient Evil: Pollentia once conquered and ruled Mirari and much of the world thousands of years ago.
  • The Assimilator: She is a 'Devourer' whose rapid rise to power stems from her defeating and devouring all who stood in her way, adding their power to her own.
  • Beauty Is Bad: She's as villainous as any villainess can be, but also by all accounts smoking hot.
  • Berserk Button: Has several.
    • Those who believe they are entitled their power by birth or privilege is one for her, due to her Might Makes Right philosophy. She takes pride in the fact she earned all her might by her own strength and cunning, and those who did nothing to earn it are in her eyes spoiled brats who deserves to have it taken from them by those worthy and capable enough to seize it.
    • Talking smack on those who earned her respect, especially if they are her children (and even if said smack-talker is her children). She defended the honour of a heroic scion whom she just defeated and devoured from the villainous one who betrayed him, telling the villainous scion straight up that his half-brother is 'a hundred times worthier than he would ever be'.
    • Not knowing ones' place. While she respects those who showed strength or have the potential for it, those who don't and tried to take her place or failing miserably often invokes her wrath and contempt. The meek exists for the whims of the mighty, and if one doesn't have what it takes to be mighty, they needed to be put back in their place.
  • Big Eater: Classified as a 'Devourer', Pollentia had devoured entire kingdoms, lands and even pantheons, countless generations of her own subjects, servants and scions, as well as many heroes and villains who had challenged her. Virtually everyone and everything which fall under her power are eventually guaranteed to be eaten by her to ever increase her prodigous power.
  • Birds of a Feather: She is noted to admire the Empire of Malregnar and had relationships with Vicearch Iniquitous as well as Her Princelings, which made sense given their many similarities.
  • Card-Carrying Villain: She does not hide herself or actions behind any justification or excuses: Everything she does is for her own gratification and greatness, and often simply because she can. This stems from her belief that the world is the playground of the mighty and the mighty are their own justification.
  • The Conqueror: She took over Mirari and turned it into her own dominion, then conquered outwards and turned it into a continent-spanning empire which she proceeded to reign over for thousands of years.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: She was born at the end of a golden age that was sliding into stagnation and corruption when heroes and villains were becoming no different from each other, with her poor family being powerless, ordinary Earthponies who lived a poverty-stricken existence. She was bullied by spoiled children who had powers and were protected and priviledged by heroic legacies. Her parents were then killed by villains who were rising in the shadows due to the heroes' negligence and complacency. The heroes themselves were too caught up in their own glory and squabbles to do anything about it. It was no wonder she ultimately developed a warped worldview where the world is the playground of the mighty and being the most powerful was the only thing that matters the most, paving the way for her rise to power.
  • The Dark Times: Her rise to power ended a golden age and ushered forth a millennia-long reign of domination and oppression over Mirari and other lands she and her empire conquered and crushed under their heels.
  • Dented Iron: While slowly recovering, her long imprisonment and Sceleratus' machinations had left her a former shadow of her original power, if still an immense threat to modern Mirari and the world. Gaining back her former glory faster and rising to even greater heights become her main objective and a driving force of the crisis she sparked when she made herself known in Mirari.
  • Depopulation Bomb: Her takeover of Mirari saw her not only devouring all the remaining heroes and villains of the land, but also glutting herself on Mirari's population, picking clean entire kingdoms even as she bring those that remain under her heels. She would repeat the same upon entire kingdoms and lands she and her empire conquers.
  • Depraved Bisexual: Pollentia is not picky which gender she sleeps with in her many trysts. She had used whole kingdoms and lands for her pleasure, after all.
  • The Dreaded: She is so feared that Mirari still dreads her return even in modern times.
  • Dystopia Justifies the Means: Keeping with her belief that the world is the playgound for the mightiest, her ideal world is where she is the most powerful being lording over all existence, with all there is and lives in it little more than her playthings to be used, toyed with and devoured as she sees fit for her eternal greatness and glory.
  • Entitled Bastard: Subverted. She is proud of the fact that she earned all her power and might by her own strength and cunning, and she made it clear she did it never because she thought she deserved it, but because she desired it. She despises those who were born or given power and felt entitled to them by birth or by natural right, as they had done nothing to earn that power and believes they should be humbled and humiliated by those who had what it takes to seize it from them.
  • Evil Is Bigger: She is described as colossal from all the beings she devoured and added to her power and existence, often towering over buildings or even skyscrapers. Her true form is even bigger, dwarfing mountains. This is also attributed to her eating many Giant divines and assimilating their natures.
  • Forever War: The conflict between Pollentia, the All-Powerful Empress and the Mirarian Pantheon and countless heroes, champions and other benevolent forces lasted for the entirety of her millennia-long reign. It took generations of battles and sacrifices by the forces of good before Pollentia was finally defeated.
  • From Nobody to Nightmare: From a powerless and unremarkable Earthpony filly to a god-like tyrant and conqueror who is one of the greatest and most powerful villains ever faced by Mirari and the wider world.
  • Good Parents: Zigzagged. It's shown that even though in her warped worldview everything exists for the whims of the mighty, she genuinely love and respect those of her own scions who showed traits she admired and lived up to her philosophies, such as those who dared to and actually managed to take a stand against her, or knew their places before her power and serve her loyally as she believe the meek could only do for the mighty. This does not extend to those scions who failed to do so or tried to usurp her for their own villainous ambitions, as they often lack the qualities which gave their benevolent counterparts their strength, as well as not knowing their places by challenging her despite not being strong enough to do so.
  • Graceful Loser: She takes her rare defeats in stride, and in fact welcome it as it means she's finally meeting a Worthy Opponent and fellow peer among the 'Mighty'. She was thrilled and impressed when modern Mirari and their allies managed to foil her ultimate plan at the climax of the crisis her return sparked.
  • The Hedonist: She's noted to indulged herself upon those she conquered and dominated. She had used entire lands and kingdoms for her own pleasure, romanced countless heroes and villains, mortals and gods, allies and enemies, had trysts with generations of her own subjects, servants and scions, and forced herself on those who earned her contempt and ire. This is stated to be due to her own egotistical and powermongering nature, her pride and lust for power compelling her to constantly seek to assert her own greatness and might upon others.
  • Hero Killer: Her takeover of Mirari millennia ago saw her taking out nearly all the heroes and champions (and also the villains) of the time, and the fact it took entire generations of heroes and champions from Mirari and beyond over thousands of years to finally defeat her meant she defeated and devoured nearly all of them too before the last generation who took her on finally won.
  • I Love You Because I Can't Control You: She had genuinely admired and loved heroes and others who stood against her despite her seemingly overwhelming power, to the point of romancing many of them despite their conflict.
  • Infernal Retaliation: During the 'Return of Pollentia' crisis, Archona threw her into the sun as a Coup de Grâce. She just came back on fire but completely unscathed. Both Pollentia and Fleeting World/White Fox noted this isn't the first time someone did this to her.
  • Invincible Villain: Ultimately Subverted in that she was defeated and sealed away, even if it took thousands of years and monumental effort to do so. That being said, she was still close enough to being one that Sceleratus set up shop in Mirari to help prevent the rise of another one like her as she considers invincible villains to be 'narratively unsatisfying' in her Blue-and-Orange Morality.
  • It Amused Me: She holds no more genuine malice towards those she used for her purposes or pleasure than a Pony has for bugs they unwittingly stepped on when they leave their homes. She has her own desires and needs, and they are simply available to satisfy them. She did so simply because she can and they cannot challenge it.
  • The Juggernaut: Pollentia was this both back in her heyday and even in her current weakened state, taking countless heroes and even gods to remotely slow her down in battle.
  • Just Toying with Them: She does this quite often with many less powerful opponents when she could had simply crushed them, especially those who failed to impress her or earned her ire, as an expression of superiority and dominance over them as well as a reflection of her own indulgent nature. This is also a sign of her arrogance which could be and had been exploited by the heroes for a fighting chance against her.
  • Large and in Charge: She was described as 'towering', and her size apparently grew to truly prodigous proportions from all the beings she consumed and power she assimilated. She conquered Mirari through sheer accumulated power and ruled over a continent-spanning empire she carved out for thousands of years.
  • Mass "Oh, Crap!": Invoked one in Mirari when she announced her return to Mirari, sparking a great national crisis and conflict.
  • Might Makes Right: She is absolutely dedicated to this philosophy. She believe that the world exist to be the playground of those strong enough to lord over it, and desires nothing short of being the mightiest being in existence because of that. She also respects and admire those who have the power to challenge her and encourages those who don't have power to seize it if they can.
  • Modest Royalty: Not modest in character, no - FAR from it. But rather she dresses modestly in the modern day, wearing a stylish white jumpsuit with golden highlights and a neck collar.
  • Monstrous Cannibalism: Not even her own children from her many trysts are safe from being added to her power, with Pollentia eventually devouring nearly all of them. Interestingly it's usually either being done in self-defence such as heroic scions trying to stop her or villainous scions trying to overthrow her, or loyal scions offering themselves to be eaten by her.
  • Narcissist: She is noted to be prideful and conceited, and part of her motive is to become powerful enough to make all of reality existing for her own greatness.
  • Near-Villain Victory: Even in her weakened state, she still almost managed to accomplish her ultimate plan in the crisis caused by her return to repeat the feat which allowed her ascension and first victory on a grander scale, and nearly won in many plots and battles before that.
  • No-Sell: Pollentia is so tough even in her weakened state that many methods that would had killed other villains or even lesser gods failed to faze her. In their battle during her return crisis, Archona among other things smashed Pollentia into the Moon (nearly de-orbiting it), tried burying her in the deepest ocean abyss, and threw her into the Sun. NONE of those methods remotely hurt or slow her down.
  • Not So Invincible After All: During her millennia-long reign many thought she was invincible, as generations of heroic forces had tried and failed to stop her and had in fact only made her even stronger when they were all ultimately defeated and devoured by the All-Powerful Empress. Then the Heroic Trinity managed to defeat her and ended her reign, proving she was ultimately this trope after all.
  • Offing the Offspring: Although Pollentia sired countless generations of children from many trysts and genuinely loved many of them, she would eventually devour virtually all of them when her children either turned heroic and turned against her evil, offered themselves to be devoured and be added to her glory in their fanatical loyalty, or try to usurp her in their villainous ambition.
  • Pet the Dog: One of her heroic scions impressed her enough that despite his centuries-long defiance against her, when she finally defeated and devoured him she allowed him to peacefully reunite with his father and lost comrades (whom she also devoured) and still speaks highly of him, even defending him from the words of a treacherous half-brother whose machinations led to his defeat.
  • Physical God: Pollentia ascended to godhood during her rise to power and is ungodly powerful even by divine standards from all the pantheons she had defeated and devoured over the course of her reign.
  • Really Gets Around: Her inherently passionate nature has led to her sleeping around with a LOT of heroes and villains, gods and mortals, using entire lands and kingdoms for her debaucheries and having trysts with entire generations of her subjects, servants and even scions. If she isn't eating them, she's bedding them (then eating them).
  • So Proud of You: Pollentia admires and respects those of her children who showed the same strength and cunning as she had, even if they are heroic figures who turned on her to stop her evil. This does not extend to those who had shown themselves to craven and weak, ironically often the evil and villainous ones who lacked the heroic qualities which gave their nobler half-siblings strength. Ultimately though, this doesn't stop her from devouring all of them eventually for her own power, although it does affect how she treats them after they had been added to her power and existence.
  • The Social Darwinist: Due to her Might Makes Right beliefs, she believes the world is the playground of the mighty, and the meek would inevitably be made to serve the mighty's whims and desires because they have no power to say otherwise. That being said, she also believes the meek can become the mighty and actively encourages it as she believes they have every right to (and also more for her to devour to empower herself).
Pollentia: What are the meek but fodder for the mighty?
  • To Create a Playground for Evil: Keeping with her belief that the world is the playground of the strong, her ultimate goal is to become the most powerful being there is, making all existence her playground and playthings to her greatness.
  • Unholy Matrimony: Implied to have romanced many villainous beings as she did heroes. One drabble mentions her having acquaintance and relationships with Vicearch Iniquitous and many of Her Princelings.
  • Victory Is Boring: Towards the end of her original reign she was showing signs of this, as she had crushed and consumed every generation of heroes, gods and other forces which had tried to overthrow her, leaving her with no true equal or worthy challenge beyond older powers above her. She was actually ecstatic when the Heroic Trinity not only managed to challenge but actually defeat her.
  • Villainous Crush: Her Might Makes Right worldview makes her admire and even lust after heroes or other beings who showed the same strength and cunning as she does, leading to her romancing many of them.
  • Villainesses Want Heroes: Pollentia romanced and bedded many of the very heroes who opposed her during her first reign, including her own heroic children spawn from her many flings. This stems from genuine admiration of the heroes' strength borne of their noble traits, and it's noted she often preferred them more than villains who lacked such noble traits and thus are weaker. Unfortunately, even when their mutual feelings are genuine it's not enough to make them stop fighting, and most relations ended with Pollentia defeating and devouring the hero in question.
  • Villainous Incest: Her love for her own children, especially those who impressed her, often goes beyond familial love and respect due to her powermongering and passionate character, having slept with many generations of her scions in her lust.
  • We Will Meet Again: Her current status after her ultimate plan for regaining her full power and ascending to new heights following her return was foiled, conceding defeat but managing to escape to fight another day, joining the ranks of current global threat-level villainous powers.
  • Worthy Opponent: She relishes in those who could not only survive but actually able to stand against her, even if they are heroes or even her own scions. Her admiration and respect often turns to outright Villainous Crush and love/lust for them.
    • Pollentia considers the Heroic Trinity who finally defeated her and ended her villainous reign millennia ago to be this, having nothing but respect for them and eager for a rematch when she returned in the modern era.

    Mic Drop/Heavy Metal Tyrant (HMT)
Heavy Metal Tyrant, real name Mic Drop (first introduced here), is a vile Mirarian supervillain and the archenemy of Red Velvet/Neon Nova.
  • Arch-Enemy: He's Red Velvet's mortal enemy, having stalked, terrorized, and attempted to rape her mother when she was a calf and escaping in modern day to try and take revenge through her.
  • Great Escape: He managed to escape prison over a decade after his defeat and imprisonment.
  • Politically Incorrect Villain: He calls Red Velvet 'tentpole', which is a racial slur against giraffes inuniverse.
  • Rape Is a Special Kind of Evil: He attempted to rape Vanilla Velvet, but was fortunately stopped by Fantastic Beat, who defeated and arrested him. He escapes in modern day, and it turns out he had the same intention for Vanilla's daughter, Red Velvet.
  • Terms of Endangerment: He refers to Red Velvet as "sweet thing". Given his intentions for the giraffe, it becomes rather chilling. Him saying it while disguised as Headliner is what gave him away.

    Resonate Chord and Heavenly Tune
Foggy Night's deceased birth parents, and the main causes of her Dark and Troubled Past.
  • Abusive Parents: They were nightmarishly abusive to their daughter, Foggy Night, due to being religious extremists. It's to the point Foggy Night had night terrors and went to absurd lengths to avoid the mere chance of them finding her.
  • De-power: As punishment for abusing their own daughter and acting like religious extremists, both Resonate Chord and Heavenly Tune are stripped entirely of their magics by Blue Suede Heartstrings, who is furious with them for the horrible things they've done in his name.
  • Groin Attack: In response to her mother catching Foggy Night masturbating, her father kicked her between the legs. Played for Drama, as Foggy makes it clear it was extremely painful and part of their nightmarish abuse to her.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: Resonate and Heavenly were religious fanatics who took their worship of Blue Suede Heartstrings way too far, and horrifically abused their daughter, Foggy Night, for not being their ideal child. While Foggy Night ran far away to Mirari, Resonate and Heavenly eventually tracked her down with help from radical Poenan deities they made a pact with. However, their attempts to retrieve their wayward daughter backfired when Foggy Night defeated and disowned them. Not only were they arrested for their crimes, but they were also rejected as worshipers by Blue Suede himself, who was so furious that he manifested his part of Mana Equus' soul and stripped both Resonate and Heavenly of their magic entirely. Sadly, they both refused to learn from their mistakes and instead summoned Queen Sceleratus for extra help, leading to their Karmic Death.
  • Never My Fault: Despite being defeated by Foggy Night and stripped of their magics entirely by Blue Suede Heartstrings, they both refused to take responsibility for their mistakes and continued to blame their daughter for their misfortunes. This ended up causing their deaths as they tried summoning Queen Sceleratus for help, only for her to kill them because they already served their narrative purpose in Foggy Night's "story".
