Humans
Vigilantes
- Badass Normal: No magic skills, only determination and gumption.
- In the Blood: Many are the descendents of Abraham Van Helsing, vampire hunter extraordinaire.
- Jack of All Stats: They excel at many things, but are never the top in their field.
- Punch-Clock Hero: They work day jobs and hunt the creatures of darkness in their downtime.
- Vigilante Man
Priests
- Christianity Is Catholic: Have some distinctly Catholic imagery to them, chiefly the desire to protect their flock.
- Good Shepherd: They care about their flock and their description in the guide book focuses more on protection than offensive motivation.
- The Lancer: In contrast to the vigilante, the Priest is more about protecting people than defeating the enemy, and depends on magic over martial combat.
- Religious Bruiser
- Religion is Magic: You even get karma loss for it!
Government
- America Saves the Day: Only the American Government is described as being part of the military class.
- Church Militant: If playing as The Light in the Dark.
- Colonel Badass
- Corporate Warfare: If played using the Blackwood Corporation as your organization.
- Mildly Military: Not much is put into protocol or rank
- Military Superhero
- Sociopathic Soldier: If part of the Diabolus.
- The Big Guy
Slasher
- Cool Mask: If you play this class you must wear a mask.
- Evil Makes You Monstrous: The most evil Human class and the only one considered a monster.
- Hockey Mask and Chainsaw: If you want, you can make this archetype.
- Hunter of His Own Kind: They are still technically humans.
- Hunting the Most Dangerous Game
- Implacable Man: Their magic orients them towards this, but a non magical one is going to be a Glass Cannon
- Token Evil Teammate: Most human classes are just trying to survive, but these guys are hunting down people and monsters alike.
Intrepid reporter
- The Cracker: High technical skills, necessary to take pictures.
- Deadline News: If you can boost their combat skills by putting them in section 9 for example.
Vampires
Dracul
- Big Bad: If vampires are portrayed as villainous, Dracul are usually at the top.
- Classical Movie Vampire
- The Leader: Dracul are the unambiguous heads of vampires, being opposed only by the Primal.
- Lesbian Vampire: All female dracul
- Smug Super: They are incredibly powerful and they won't let you forget it.
- Squishy Wizard: Powerful magic and shapeshifting, no combat or defense bonuses though.
- Vampires Are Sex Gods: Dracul gain significant bonuses to seduction.
Mods
- Hate Sink: In universe, not even vampires can stand them.
- The Heart: They contribute tangentially to the overall vampire plot, but are more concerned with sleeping around and having a good time. Essentially, the hate they garner from other vampires holds them together.
- Punch-Clock Villain: More concerned with themselves than any grand plan to wipe out the sun.
- Spanner in the Works: Not super useful in the grand scheme of things, in fact they are the ones who broke The Masquerade in the firstplace!
- Vampires Are Sex Gods: Gain boosts to seduction.
Primal
- Animorphism: They can turn into a dragon at their highest level.
- Black Eyes of Evil
- More Teeth than the Osmond Family: Have a mouth filled with razor sharp teeth, much scarier than the Dracul's 2 large canines
- Obviously Evil: Black Eyes of Evil, More Teeth than the Osmond Family. All tropes related to the Primal Vampire.
- Vampires Are Sex Gods: Less so than the other races, seeing as how they don't get bonuses to seduction checks. However, they have a pathological hatred of shirts and are described as very muscular.
- Walking Shirtless Scene: Have a pathological hatred of shirts.
Nosferatu
- Animorphism: Have the power of shapeshifting.
- Looks Like Orlok
- Swarm of Rats: Their 3rd level shapeshifting power.
- Vampires Are Sex Gods: Averted. Unlike every other vampire class, the Nosferatu are not portrayed as sexy in the least.
Wendigo
- Cannibalism Superpower
- The Lancer: Plays a good sidekick and Foil to the Dracul class vampires
- Magical Native American: Averted. They have no magical bonus.

Werewolf
- The Leader: Unambiguous alphas of the werebeasts.
- Lunacy
- Our Werewolves Are Different: All the men are gay for one thing.
Cat People
- Cat Folk
- Shapeshifter Mode Lock: The cat people can still transform into their beast form, but they can never go back to being a human.
- The Smart Guy
Wereroaches
- The Big Guy
- Cursed with Awesome: Their curse is that they can lift 100 times their own weight, fly, and survive without a head. True you still have to deal with the beast inside, but since that beast is a Cockroach eating a good deal of scraps and sugar should hold you over.
- Damage Over Time: They have poison bonuses, but no attack bonuses, thus making them this.
- Our Werebeasts Are Different: Specifically they are giant cockroaches
- Stone Wall: They gain no bonuses to combat, but they do gain points in agility and resistances. In addition they can survive without a head.
Fish People
- Blessed with Suck: They can't breathe underwater without the use of magic, but have to live in it for 12 hours a day.
- Fish People
- Joke Character: Have severe restrictions and very situational magic
- Lethal Joke Character: That being said, it does have good combat bonuses.
- Our Mermaids Are Different: They can't breathe underwater for one thing.
- Shapeshifter Mode Lock: Stuck as half frog/half human monsters permanently.
- This Looks Like a Job for Aquaman: They're lucky if they manage to be this important.
- Useless Useful Spell: All their magic seems to fall under this
Dog Soldier
- Cursed with Awesome: Being a werewolf doesn't seem too bad for these guys.
- Gone Horribly Wrong: Averted, they were designed to be a Super-Soldier program and they were. They also didn't rebel and are still loyal to America.

- Magitek: A werewolf with an assault rifle
- Super-Soldier: Designed to be this.
Witches
Phoenix
- Burn the Witch!: Ironically how they got their powers.
- Hoist by Their Own Petard: Villagers tried to burn them to death, so they gained fire powers.
- Playing with Fire: All their elemental spells are fire based.
Wakedancer
- Beauty Is Bad: The most evil witches and described as beautiful in the text.
- Black Magician Girl: Mostly combat oriented
- Dance Battler: They cast spells via dancing
- Deal with the Devil: How they returned to life
- Even Evil Has Standards: Generally seen as evil by even other witches.
- Necromancer: Has numerous spells for raising the dead.
- Signature Move: The only witch class with the Summoning skill.
- Zombie Apocalypse: Her final spell summons a very large number of zombies.
Badlander
- Barrier Warrior: Has a good deal of defensive spells.
- Being Good Sucks: Despite being relatively good, they are still hunted by humans for their magic.
- Burn the Witch!: Takes extreme fire damage
- Making a Splash: Has water themed elemental powers.
- Token Good Teammate: Being based on the Good Witch of the North, she is this for the witch race in general.
- White Mage: Very healing and defense oriented.
Rotter
- Age Without Youth: They can get it back with Blood Magic though.
- Blood Magic.
- Burn the Witch!: Takes extreme fire damage.
- Make Them Rot: Where the name comes from.
- Red Mage: Has both healing and entropy spells.
Skinshifter
- Animorphism
- Butt-Monkey: The most routinely hunted witch.
- The Druid
Aliens
Overlords
- Big Bad: Whatever their motives, alien life still falls south of neutral and the Overlords are the leaders of the alien species.
- Mind Rape: Depend on mental prowess to get ahead.
- Scary Dogmatic Aliens: They wish to save us savages from ourselves and foreign invaders, which puts them either as conquistadors or as something else entirely.
Cyborg
- The Brute: They provide the main muscle during the invasion.
- No Biochemical Barriers: They're immune to Earth diseases.
- Paper-Thin Disguise: Even Vanguards are better at stealth than these guys.
Infiltrator
- Evil Is Petty: These guys are the reason we have HR departments and the DMV.
- Mars Needs Women: Encouraged. Incidentally, if you go this route, Mars expects you to take care of the child.
- No Biochemical Barriers: The most resilient to our Earth diseases.
Vanguard

- Aliens Steal Cattle: If they are so inclined.
- Anal Probing: Apparantly they do this in the name of science.
