     CariDee
CariDee English

CariDee English is the winner of Cycle 7 of ANTM. She is the second ANTM winner from North Dakota, the first being Nicole Linkletter of Cycle 5.

CariDee was noted for her striking resemblance to Rebecca Romijn and Karolína Kurková. In the early stages of the cycle, her personality was praised for being fun and outgoing but she would occasionally be reprimanded for not seeming to take the competition seriously.

In particular, CariDee was scolded for making a yet crude joke to fashion photographer and ANTM judge Nigel Barker during the bullfighting photo shoot in Barcelona, jokingly asking him if he removed the stick from his ass, in reference to a bullfighting accessory he was holding. CariDee later stated that Nigel joked back with her, but the show wanted to make the point of reminding the contestants to be professional.

While in Barcelona, it appeared that CariDee cheated on her boyfriend with one of the male models that contestants worked with but in a later interview, CariDee claimed that she and her boyfriend were seeing other people at the time and they later reconciled.

As CariDee approached the finals, the judges expressed concern that her personality was not suited to represent Top Model and Cover Girl Cosmetics, noting in the cycle’s finale that she was sometimes too unpredictable and unstable. However, she was crowned the winner over runner-up Melrose Bickerstaff because the judges deemed that she had that much sought after “X-Factor.”

Post Top Model, CariDee has enjoyed a successful modeling career and she has also ventured into television, as an actress and a host. She is also a national spokesperson for the National Psoraisis Foundation.

  • Book Ends: Jay Manuel's advice to CariDee during casting was echoed by Tyra in the finale.
Mr. Jay: "Don't ever do this ever again. Got it?" (Due to auditioning with a garter on her leg)
Tyra: "I don't wanna see that face ever, ever again. Okay?" (Due to her Narmic facial expressions during the final runway)
  • Genki Girl: has a fun, energetic, outgoing personality.
  • Little Bit Beastly: In her fourth pictorial where she posed as the elephant woman. This was also her first best photo.
  • Ms. Fanservice: Auditioned with a garter on her leg, walked the runway photoshoot exposing one boob, shown sleeping in the nude or at least topless and often wore the most minimal clothing (usually mini-skirts).
Eugena: "CariDee just can't keep her clothes on."
Ms. J: "You're the kitten in the house!"
    • She explains this when having a chat with Tyra that when she was younger, she had psorasis, a skin condition that covered much of her body, so she was incredibly self-conscious about it for years. Now she has clear skin, she's flaunting it.

     Melrose
Melrose Bickerstaff

Melissa Rose "Melrose" Bickerstaff was the runner-up in Cycle 7 of America’s Next Top Model.

Prior to her appearance on the show, Melrose graduated from The Art Institute of California - San Francisco with a degree in fashion design, where she was named "Best of Show" and "Most Creative" in the 2003 annual student fashion show.

Melrose was praised for in-depth knowledge of fashion and professional attitude, but she was depicted as hated by the other contestants. However, E! later reported that this was Manipulative Editing and aside from her rivalry with Monique, Melrose was generally well-liked.

During her time in the competition, Melrose consistently ranked at the top and won several challenges. However, the main criticism Melrose faced was that her personality was deemed too cold or too serious to be considered a good representative of Top Model and Cover Girl cosmetics.

Although her walk in the final runway challenge was deemed better than that of competitor CariDee English, Melrose ultimately placed second.

Post Top Model, Melrose still went on to enjoy a successful modeling career and also worked as a fashion designer for actress Michelle Rodriguez's fledgling clothing line, Ishkidada. As of 2019, she works as a financial advisor at Merrill Lynch and started a financial advice blog, Melrose Money.

  • The Ace: Has extensive fashion knowledge (having gone to fashion school and made her own clothes), knows many designers and famous models, took strong photos, had a powerful runway walk, won several challenges during the show, and had a strong desire to win the competition.
  • Ambition Is Evil: She was the most driven, most serious, and most competent. And she was considered one of the main mean girls of the season, but that was largely due to her brittle and driven nature.
  • Blue Oni: To CariDee's red during the finals.
  • Broken Ace: She's really good and knowledgeable, but she breaks down anytime she wasn't able to live up to her self-expectations.
  • Foil: To CariDee.
  • Ice Queen: the judges often accused of her having a 'cold' personality.
  • I'm Not Here to Make Friends: She's here to win. The other girls hate her for this, because they felt she was treating the competition too seriously.
  • Indy Ploy: "Box Joyfully!"
  • Insufferable Genius: She believes that she knows everything about modelling and often lectures the other girls.
  • Meaningful Rename: "I don't need the -issa! People aren't gonna remember 'Melissa Rose, I'm a country singer', no! They remember Melrose."
  • Money, Dear Boy: In her first pictorial, which is a Take That! to supermodel Linda Evangelista.
  • Only Known by Their Nickname: Invoked and enforced by Melrose herself.
  • The Perfectionist: She hates losing and during the Cover Girl commercial shoot, Jay tries to convince her not to dwell on her mistakes for too long
  • The Rival: To CariDee, especially in the last episodes.
  • Serious Business: Took everything during the show very seriously, from the photoshoots to even the silliest challenges.
  • Sit Com Arch Nemesis: To Monique, though probably worse.
  • Sore Loser: While many girls are disappointed to lose, Melrose makes no attempt to appear happy for other contestants, even on challenge wins. She cried when she lost a traditional dance challenge in Barcelona to Eugena and more egregiously, when CariDee is proclaimed the winner of the cycle, she cries backstage that she gave her all and it was not enough.
  • Younger Than They Look: She was only 23, but the judges often told her that she looked much older than she was.

     Eugena
Eugena Washington
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Eugena_2_7487.jpg

Eugena Washington was a contestant during Cycle 7 of ANTM, placing third overall.

Eugena entered the competition bragging that she was better than the Cycle 6 contestants, but her bravado quickly fell apart when she proved to have inconsistent performance in the competition, placing in the Bottom Two three times.

She was often criticized for her weak performance in photoshoots and although she made strong improvements, criticism then turned to her flat, passionless attitude and she was frequently questioned whether she truly wanted to win Top Model.

During the competition, she was the only person to be friends with Monique. After Monique's elimination, she was still on good terms with the rest of the house and was even best friends with Cari Dee towards the end of the competition.

Post Top Model, Eugena continued to model and in 2016, she was named Playmate of the Year by Playboy magazine.

     Amanda
Amanda Babin
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Amanda_Babin_123.jpg

Amanda initially tried out for America’s Next Top Model Cycle 6, but was accepted for the show’s seventh season, alongside her twin Michelle. She eventually placed fourth overall.

Of the two sisters, Amanda had the stronger desire to model but it seemed that Michelle has the more natural talent, causing some awkwardness between the twins. Still, Amanda remained close to her sister throughout the competition and was protective of Michelle when Michelle announced to their parents that she was gay.

As a finalist, Amanda was often criticized by the judges for looking awkward on the runway and in her photographs. Nevertheless, she gained a spot on the top four and spent two straight weeks in the Bottom Two before she was finally eliminated due to lack of improvement.

Post Top Model, Amanda acted in a couple low budget films and appears to have retired from modelling completely.

  • Red Oni: To Michelle's blue. She appeared to be more hot headed as shown by her fight with Monique and in her confessional talking about Monique on the phone.

     Michelle
Michelle Babin

She and her twin sister, Amanda, both became finalists on America’s Next Top Model, Cycle 7. She placed fifth overall.

Of the two sisters, Amanda had the stronger desire to model but it seemed that Michelle has the more natural talent, causing some awkwardness between the twins. Still, the two remained close throughout the competition, especially when Michelle came out to their parents.

Ultimately, the judges were concerned with Michelle's lack of progress and that Michelle seemed to be covering up for her sister’s mistakes and weaknesses. When Michelle and Amanda were placed at the bottom two together, it was Michelle’s lack of interest and commitment to modelling that drove the judges to eliminate her.

Post Top Model, Michelle attended college and made a brief appearance in a film alongside Amanda. She appears to have retired from modelling.

     Jaeda
Jaeda Young
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/jaeda_2685.jpg

Jaeda was a finalist on America’s Next Top Model, Cycle 7, placing sixth overall.

In the casting episode, Jaeda prided herself on beging the prettiest girl at her high school and claimed that she wouldn't care if she had to have her hair cut off for a makeover. However, she had a meltdown when she was given a pixie cut, even when the judges complimented how the new haircut showed off her new bone structure.

For the remainder of the competition, Jaeda was insecure about how her new haircut wasn't feminine enough and it affected her performance, causing her to be placed in the Bottom Two three times over the course of the competition. In Barcelona, Jaeda was paired with a male model, Nacho, for a Catalan-language commercial for Secret Deodorant and she was insulted when Nacho told her that he didn't like black women. As such, Jaeda performed poorly in the commercial and even with the explanation about Nacho's mistreatment, the judges decided Jaeda's overall performance was not strong enough to continue in the competition.

Post Top Model, Jaeda married and settled in the Midwest, where she continues to model.

     Anchal
Anchal Joseph
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/anchal_2_2366.jpg

Born in New Delhi, India, Anchal and her family migrated to Homestead, Florida when she was 6 years old. She majored in Nuclear Medicine at Miami-Dade College-Homestead. Prior to her appearance on the show, she had modeled for French Vogue and Zoom Magazine.

Anchal described herself as being ugly and awkward as a child, and now reclaiming her confidence with modeling. However, as the weeks progressed, it became apparent that Anchal was still very self-conscious, especially about her figure, which was quite fuller than the other girls.

Anchal's lack of confidence proved to be her downfall as during the judging panel, she was reluctant to participate in the "verb/adjective" acting challenge. Ultimately, the judges decided she was not showing enough commitment to modelling and overcoming her insecurities. She placed seventh overall.

Post Top Model, Anchal enjoyed a successful modeling career, including being a "briefcase girl" on the gameshow Deal or No Deal.

     Brooke
Brooke Miller
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/brooke_9330.jpg

Brooke gave up her senior year of high school in order to participate in America’s Next Top Model, Cycle 7.

As one of the youngest contestants, Brooke initially had a bit of difficulty adjusting to the competition and struggled with being homesick and missing her senior year. On what would have been the night of her high school graduation, Brooke was eliminated due to a lack of potential. She placed eighth overall.

Post Top Model, Brooke pursued a degree in broadcast journalism and eventually became a producer for ESPN.

  • Coming of Age Story: As one of the youngest contestants, she has to do a lot of work to adjust to the competition and to modelling world. She gets eliminated on the night of her high school graduation.

     AJ
AJ Stewart

In the casting episode, A.J. revealed that she was a breast cancer survivor and the experience emboldened her to live life to the fullest.

She was initially considered one of the strongest contestants on the show. She won a runway challenge in which the contestants had to walk on a straight line across cobblestones while wearing high heels and masks that blurred their visions. However, AJ bombed the interview challenge and the public speaking challenged, which caused her to be eliminated. AJ was eliminated on the same week where she was named CoverGirl of the week. She placed ninth overall.

Post Top Model, AJ signed to an agency and modeled in Asia.

     Megg
Megg Morales
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Megg_9053.jpg

Megg prided herself on her "rock and roll" attitude and her enthusiastic attitude was praised by the judges. However, in her final photoshoot, the judges still felt that Megg, although beautiful, did not possess enough potential to become a model. She placed tenth overall.

Post Top Model, Megg briefly modeled and went on to be a musician, performing under the name "Reckless Redemption."

     Monique
Monique Calhoun
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/monique_4475.jpg

Monique quickly became one of the most controversial and hated contestants. On the first night in the house, she was one of the girls who didn't claim a bed so she poured water on Eugena's bed and claimed to have peed on it in order to keep it. The other contestants hated her spoiled and entitled attitude and Monique frequently got into arguments with Melrose Bickerstaff and Anchal Joseph.

Although she took strong photos, the judges frequently criticized Monique on her poor attitude.

To the delight of the other contestants, Monique became the third contestant to be eliminated from the show, after she refused to do a photo shoot because she was sick. She placed eleventh overall.

Post Top Model, Monique changed her name to "Monique Sta Teena" and continued modeling and made a few background appearances in film and television.

  • Alpha Bitch: Almost everybody in the house hated her for her outrageous behavior.
  • Ax-Crazy: She poured water on Eugena's bed and pretended she peed on it in order to claim the bed, hogged the phone for over three hours because she was annoyed that she was disqualified from a challenge, rubbed her dirty underwear on Melrose's bed, and threw out everybody else's food after someone ate her chip. Despite several contestants calling her out, she also has no remorse for any of her actions.
  • Bad Boss: In her first pictorial, which is an obvious Take That! to Naomi Campbell.
  • Disc-One Final Boss: Monique was set up to be the season's main antagonistic force, but after her quick elimination from the competition, Melrose became the Designated Villain.
  • Jerkass: As stated above, she frequently antagonized her fellow contestants for petty reasons.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Jerk: She consistently does mean things to antagonize her competitors, mostly just for the sake of it.
  • Sit Com Arch Nemesis: To Melrose, though probably worse.
  • Sore Loser: After being disqualified from a challenge, she blamed the other girls for her failure and hogged the phone for three house. She does not take her final elimination very well either.
  • Spoiled Brat: Her mother calls her a 'princess of the throne'.

     Megan
Megan Morris
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/megan_54.jpg

Megan was an openly gay model from San Francisco, California. When she was 9, Megan and her mother were in a plane crash, Megan's mother did not survive. The plane crash left Megan left with scars on her leg as well, which she felt insecure about growing up.

Despite Megan’s good attitude towards her makeover on America’s Next Top Model, Cycle 7, she was the second one to be eliminated from show because she failed to use her great body and bone structure to her advantage during the photo shoots. Her best picture was still the weakest compared to the other girls’ photographs. Supermodel and Top Model judge Tyra Banks also commented that Megan seemed “lost” in her pictures. Consequently, Megan was the second girl to be eliminated from the show and she placed twelfth overall.

     Christian
Christian Evans
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Christian_5020.jpg

Christian Evans was a contestant during Cycle 7 of ANTM.

Before she joined America’s Next Top Model, Cycle 7, she was working as a bank teller in South Carolina. Although she was extremely confident about her runway walk, Christian struggled greatly during the first photo shoot. She failed to come up with several poses for the photo shoot, and admitted that she could not fully understand the concept of the stereotype she was given. Her poor performance and seeming lack of potential drove the judges to send her home.
