openHow do I make a new page?
For this. How do I format the name so that it comes out right? And get an image. And all that other stuff I don't know how to do.....
open Need to find kids’ show name (TwT) Western Animation
I was recently reminded of an animated show I saw a couple of times when I was a child, but I’m not sure exactly how many years ago.
I only remember that the protagonists were a female fairy with orange hair and a green outfit, and a male elf with long, raven black hair. I believe the fairies and elves were at war or something, but these two fell in love. The fairies lived in a big tree or something, as I recall in one episode the orange haired fairy was making some flower baskets/crowns with her fairy friends upon a tree.
I don’t really remember much more, but I would be super duper grateful if somebody could help me find the name of the show. Thanks in advance!!! 😭
openWolverine, the jerkass
You probably all know Wolverine. He's a lovable jerkass seen in comic books, animated series, films, etc; but a jerkass in the end. He's always mean and rude to the other characters, and the kind of guy that may be cool to see on TV but not have to actually live with. That's basically what defines him as a character. He's not Superman or Captain America, nor is he meant to be.
So, I removed Adaptational Jerkass from here: I reasoned that he can't be an Adaptational Jerkass if he was already a jerkass in the source work, and that "also a jerkass but more" is not an actual example (there was a similar discussion about Magneto and Adaptational Villainy). It has been restored, and I would like to avoid an edit war if possible.
Besides, also from that edit, is it acceptable to call a character an "Ephebophile"? We already have Dirty Old Man and May–December Romance for romances with an age gap. The Ephebophile page seems like a definition of a term rather than a trope (perhaps a useful notes?), and the use to describe characters sounds like flame bait to me.
open TV show forgotten Live Action TV
So when I was fairly little, me and my brother would buy these dvds from our local dollar tree. Most were cartoons, but there was one specific one.It was a kids show, and it was a skit type thing. I believe it was roughly filmed in the late 90's to early early 2000's. I remember a girl (I THINK she was a judge?? She might've had a gavel she hit when the skit started) that introduced the upcoming skit. The skits all had the same actors, but all in a different plot. I also think one of the actors looked like a young josh peck in my opinion ahha. It's not much info, but it'd mean the world to me if I got help finding it
open Is there a Trope Film
Is there a collective Trope that covers: Hotwiring a car, Cauterizing a Wound, Hacking Computers and Picking Locks.
These actions now are just presented with little or no actual details to the audience and we either fill in the blanks or more often than not suspend our disbelief.
Character reaches under dash of car pulling out wires: They are hotwiring a car. Character heats up a knife/metal object: they are applying First Aid. Character grabs keyboard and precedes to thrash away on it: they are hacking a computer. Character has thin metal item/bobby pin: they are going to pick a lock.
needless to say none of those actions will work the audience just has to accept that it will.
openA Song of Lists and Franchises
Just been checking that Franchise.A Song Of Ice And Fire had all the spin-off works like the comic books, A Song Of Ice And Fire Roleplaying, A Song of Ice and Fire: Tabletop Miniatures Game, etc and noticed that there also a (incomplete) list of works on Literature.A Song Of Ice And Fire.
I was wondering if the lists should be merged keeping the Literature/ page for the main books or something.
If so, how it should be phrased/linked?
openAvoiding an edit war in YMMV/Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid Anime
In YMMV.Miss Kobayashis Dragon Maid, Ninja123456 edited the Ho Yay entry, replacing the trope name with Les Yay and violating Example Indentation by adding Ho Yay in front of the sole male example while leaving it in the middle of the list. Due to the bad formatting and because Ho Yay is gender neutral, I deemed the edit pointless and reverted it, stating as such in the edit reason, and sent an example indentation notifier to Ninja123456. They then redid their edit, only without the bad example indentation by splitting off the male example and leaving it under Ho Yay, claiming Ho Yay is for male homosexual subtext in both the edit reason and in a PM mocking the notifier format (with the same title and "Thanks for helping us keep the wiki cool" sentence at the end).
So now I'm asking for some help because I obviously disagree, but don't want to war over it.
Edit: Also, another troper previously changed Ho Yay to Les Yay before on the page, which I reverted, but in that case they told me they didn't notice the male example in the list, so I didn't think I would be edit warring by reverting the edit Ninja123456 made, who obviously did see the male example.
Edited by homogenizedopenWhat Are the Darth Wiki and Sugar Wiki?
I've noticed them both before, but I can't seem to figure out for the life of me what exactly they are. Actually, I'm not even sure I understand Just for Fun. Could somebody help me to understand? ^-^'
open Recap being use as a character Page.
Recap.SCP Foundation is being use as a character page then an actual recapping of events. There actually is a dedicated Character page for SCP so I wonder if it's OK to move them there.
openmain space articles in useful notes index?
When browsing the wiki, I have seen a lot of main space articles that are in useful notes indexes. Some are formatted like a useful note page. Should I put them all in TRS? Is there a way to suggest a cleanup? Any other ideas?
openReporting a troper Music
AreYouTyler appears to be a sockpuppet of BigBertha, who was banned in 2016 for repeatedly misattributing a song & using a fanfic of all things as a justification. It took me years to make the connection, but their recent edit to L–Z confirms that it’s the same person.
openRevolutionary Girl Utena Anime
So for the YMMV.Revolutionary Girl Utena page we on the Magnificent Bastard cleanup thread deemed none of the examples—with particular emphasis on Akio—to be qualifiers. Troper idominatio2 re-added the entry after it was removed and was messaged being asked to come to the thread to make the case but never did so. To prevent an edit war, am I okay to remove and leave a note asking it not to be re-added unless it's approved by the thread?
Edited by 43110openTitle question
There was a toy series called The Yum Yums, which got a cartoon called The Yum Yums: The Day Things Went Sour. I want to make a page about the toys/show but am unsure what title to use, since a majority of the entries would be about the cartoon.
Edited by lalalei2001openNot sure where to put examples from obscure direct to VHS shows
I used to watch a bunch shows on VHS that I don’t think were ever aired on television and a lot of them are very obscure and difficult to find information on. These shows were mostly live action but a lot of them had animation in them, and most of them were educational shows. If I want to list any of these shows as an example on a trope page, should I list them under live-action TV even if they were never on television, or I can not find any information showing that they were aired on television?
open Login in PC
Why can't i log in on my computer? It either does not work or gets frozen, but on mobile i can log in and edit just fine. EDIT: Nevermind, it's fine now.
Edited by CeaselessPhoenicopterineopenPolitical Correctness
Political Correctness Gone Mad is No Real Life Examples, Please!, for good reason. However, the entire first section of examples ("Examples of Political Correctness Impacting Stories") is nothing but real life examples (in that we are classifying the real life situations that caused these changes as examples). Why is this?
Edited by TheMountainKingopenThinking of Getting Rid of Surprise Creepy for this YMMV page
Whole thing seems way too YMMV and stretching, plus, I doubt Surprise Creepy belongs on YMMV anyway
I want to make a page for Max Landis' 746-page Super Mario World script but am unsure what namespace it would go under. I was thinking Fanfic/ but am not entirely sure.
