Black Lagoon. if you watch the sub, it also counts as Guilty Pleasures

Dear TV Tropes Forums... I'm sorry for leaving you for Gaia. Now I left Gaia and have an affair with Tumblr. Love, me.

if you watch the sub,

Ha ha! Oh, wow.... JUST the sub? This is a series made of Testosterone Poisoning and Rule of Cool.

Apple Seed certain gets my recommendation. Masamune does not disappoint, although the excessive fanservice does annoy me so ...

Not to mention that the dub has the best Drinking Game known to man. Who would have thought you could get absolutely smashed just drinking for every time someone says fuck?

In the original, you'll need that drink every time someone says "fuck"

the statement above is false

Seconding Battle Angel Alita and Genshiken. Also take a look at BAA's sequel series,Last Order, which is essentially Alita... IN SPACE!

A third one is Kurosagi Corpse Delivery Service - a group of students from a Buddhist university pool their unique skills to form a company that takes the dead wherever the deceased wants to go. Blackly humorous, sometimes disgusting, very strange, but always a good read due to the frankly superb translation by Dark Horse. Mention must also be made of "Disjecta Membra",the translation notes/sound FX/cultural notes they include at the back of every volume. Even the art is good, foregoing the usual manga style for realism.

Probably the only reason it's not more well-known is it's not available in scanslations; this is one you'll have to buy.

Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away.

Or any other manga/ anime that reeks of awesome? I'm aware of Berserk, but it frustrates me to no end that it'll probably take another decade for that series to be done.

Any Classics? Cult Classics? Obscure titles? Guilty Pleasures? Gory or Porny as hell?

You seem to share the same tastes as one of my friends. :-)

Necro because this would probably be (more) ignored in the main chatterbox thread.

I like Dorohedoro, an extraordinarily violent story with Grey-and-Gray Morality set in a universe where the power to make mushrooms everywhere is actually scary. And it's a Long Runner, by my standards.

Would I like Berserk? Or other recommendations?

You could try Darker Than Black for another fun show with Grey-and-Grey Morality and inventive use of superpowers.

What's precedent ever done for us?

I haven't seen anything else like Dorohedoro, sadly.

Also; we do have a stickied thread for recommendations.

Also for Vinland Saga, because it manages to make a 6 month stretch of chapters related solely to farming just as entertaining as Vikings braining one another.

Nana To Kaoru. Because sexy.

I'd definitely recommend Desert Punk in its excellent English dub. It's both a very funny series and a uniquely cynical one.

If you like Trigun or Gun X Sword, you will like this.

[up][up] AKIRA.

If you haven't tried it, Green Jacket episodes of Lupin III are very seinen, before Hayao Miyazaki is given the project to tone it down as a Shonen. It is one of the earliest animated seinen series.

Link to TRS threads in project mode here.
