Granted. The day is now twice as long. You have the same ratio of free time to work time, but your work time is much longer, as is your free time. Meanwhile, due to the slower rotation of the earth, day and night become ever more extreme in temperature fluctuation. Further, the sudden slowing of the earth caused enormous gales, which led to lots of property damage.

Granted, in 1968, one of Alec Baldwin's friends at his primary school was obsessed with Lord of the Rings, liked his voice, and asks him to do a few Aragorn quotes. This anecdote didn't "originally" happen, and, while seemingly harmless, this slight adjustment to the timeline indirectly causes a nuclear war in 1982. The Beatles never broke up, though.
