During the investigation of recent hollers in the Complete Monster thread, it's become apparent to the staff that an insular, unfriendly culture has evolved in the Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard threads that is causing problems.
Specific issues include:
- Overzealous hollers on tropers who come into the threads without being familiar with all the rules and traditions of the tropes. And when they are familiar with said rules and traditions, they get accused (with little evidence) of being ban evaders.
- A few tropers in the thread habitually engage in snotty, impolite mini-modding. There are also regular complaints about excessive, offtopic "socializing" posts.
- Many many thread regulars barely post/edit anywhere else, making the threads look like they are divorced from the rest of TV Tropes.
- Following that, there are often complaints about the threads and their regulars violating wiki rules, such as on indexing, crosswicking, example context and example categorization. Some folks are working on resolving the issues, but...
- Often moderator action against thread regulars leads to a lot of participants suddenly showing up in the moderation threads to protest and speak on their behalf, like a clique.
It is not a super high level problem, but it has been going on for years and we cannot ignore it any longer. There will be a thread in Wiki Talk
to discuss the problem; in the meantime there is a moratorium on further Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard example discussion until we have gotten this sorted out.

Try to present these as objectively as possible by presenting any evidence that may support or refute the mitigating factors.
Do they meet the Heinousness Standard?
Here you compare the actions of the Candidate to other character actions in the story in order to determine if they stand out or not. Remember that all characters, not just other villains, contribute to the Heinousness Standard
Final Verdict?
Simply state whether or not you think the character counts or not.

So it's the 19th and my Wrath of the Righteous playthrough is 3 days late, as I said the EP will be delayed until completion. However I can give an indication from information I've dug up via other playthroughs and reddit posts who dosen't qualify from least to most despicable:
- As previously mentioned, Areelu dosen't qualify here, her actions are toned down and she has genuine redeeming qualities. She might have a shot for MB through as I previously mentioned(even if she is deemed too problematic I already have one possible MB in the form of Regill Derenge)
- Minagho is given a bigger role in this AP, being Staunton's corruptor and having no real affection for him outside of him being a pawn for her goals. She leads the armies of Baphomet and causes untold destruction. However, while she is a massive Hate Sink, she narrowly misses this trope by a hairlength as we learn from a sidequest dealing with another demon that said demon is in love with her. While this alone isn't enough to count as a redeeming quality since we only see said other demon's side of the story and it could be seen as one-sided, if you spare both her and the other demon, the ending slides reveal that they reunite, "never to part". This wording is ambigious enough to be a genuine Even Evil Has Loved Ones quality IMO but if anyone else plays through the game and has a differing opinion feel free to dissent.
- The noblewoman Camellia Gwerm is a vicious serial killer that joins the party and uses the Crusade to go on a murder and bathing in blood spree(wondering if her character is based on a notorious IRL countess), culminating in her seeking to kill her father unless her bloodlust is sated in other ways. She claims that she is being influenced by spirits, but subverts this Freudian Excuse when it is discovered she just likes killing for the sake of it and is generally unrepentant. She is noteworthy for being one of the few genuinely capital-E evil party members in any RPG that can stay in a party till the end of a game(usually totally evil characters in any party that aren't redeemed either exist in "protag is fucking evil" games or they betray you halfway and are subsequently killed). She never gets a "good end". Sounds like a shoe-in right? Unfortunately she can genuinely develop romantic feelings for the PC(albeit a very twisted form of love) and in her least bad ending, she leaves the PC because she does not want to succumb to her urges and kill the PC. So she fails the "has no loved ones" criteria.
So currently I am, as I previously noted, looking into Baphomet, with maybe Deskari added to a joint entry if his affection for his father Pazuzu is omitted(I think he has enough presence and character as film!Sauron and MCU!Dormammu to avert pure GDV status), and this rapist NPC in act 4 when I do my effortposts(through they will probably have some stiff competition with Camellia).

What's the work?
It Happened In Broad Daylight is a German thriller from 1958 starring Heinz Ruhmann and Gert Frobe, set in Switzerland when one inspector Matthai discovers a ghastly crime and resolves to catch the culprit...
Now, our villain? Herr Schrott
Who is Herr Schrott?
The good Herr Schrott is a seemingly respectable businessman, played by none other than Gert Frobe who you may know better as Auric "I expect you to die" Goldfinger (in fact, the role that brought him to prominence playing a villain). Schrott is a man married to one Fraud Schrott and the stepfather to her children...the marriage is not a happy one and Schrott despises her, which had led to a furious misogyny. Too cowardly to lash out at grown women, he instead uses children as a stand in.
Matthai first learns of a dead little girl in the woods, with a peddler blamed. The man hangs himself in a cell...Matthai soon becomes convinced this is the work of a serial killer when he learns of other dead little girls in various spots all around....at least two, with Schrott soon focusing on a little girl named Annemarie. Schrott pretends to be "the Magicians," using finger puppets and chocolates to lure the children in, bring them into the woods and brutally murders them with what is indicated to be a straight razor.
Matthai soon pieces things together and is able to track schrott, learning Annemarie is the intended victim. With only a short time to act, he tries to track the location. After an argument with his wife, Schrott drives off angrily...and intends to kill Annemarie, but Matthai gets there first with a trap and Schrott attacks him, resulting in other officers shooting him, before apprehending the still-alive, agonized Schrott.
Mitigating issues?
Nope. Schrott hates his wife and it's made clear Schrott's misogyny is just...virulent and savage. He's too cowardly to strike at adults, so he uses little girls as a stand in, venting his hate at his wife on them, with no care who gets accused of what he's done. The guy is about as scummy as it's possible to get.
Nothing good to him, obviously.
Conclusion?
I think an easy keeper.

Do you think Deathloop will have candidates? We still have to wait about a week but it's like Dishonored but without you being able to spare the scumbags, which generally disqualified them in the previous games, which makes me think at least one of the visionaries will end up counting.
