Not Tropeworthy: Moe Stare

Moe Stare is a very old trope, being renamed from an older name in 2009 (and I have no clue how old it is ultimately). Its use isn't amazing for a trope that old, but the real problem is that the examples, as seen in the Moe Stare Wick Check I conducted at the end of June, almost always lack context for how this trope is in any way meaningful. Over half the examples checked were ZC Es, and a large chunk were just dropped into other examples or descriptions without any context as to how this trope applies. It seems to be "this expression is cute" without any deeper context.

I suspect this is an artifact of the "old" TV Tropes, when such tropes were allowed to be created without challenge and whether something is PSOC wasn't nearly as important to trope creation process. As it stands, however, it doesn't fit with the site's current ethos, and I really think, unless someone can come up with something meaningful about it, it should be cut or redirected to Moe.

Opened. I don't have a strong opinion on whether to cut or redirect to Moe, but I do agree that this isn't tropeworthy since it's a meaningless ZCE magnet.

I think there's definitely a trope in "silly open-mouth smile" (aka ":D", typical for The Ditz or Cloudcuckoolander), but the current page is barely salvageable from ZCE, so to the yard that and redirect this to Moe for now.

Don't you love it when your proposal gets unanimous support from the word go? Obviously, we should give it a few more days to be sure but I suspect this thread will be a quickie, especially with only about 90 wicks to clean.

I was asleep when this thread was created, so I'm glad I gave permission.

So, counting the OP, that's 12 cut votes. Waive the Three-Day Rule, or no?

I've thought that's only for not thriving tropes.

It is? I can't quite remember what the waiving policy was.

Though this trope's been around a long time and has only 86 wicks, so it isn't exactly healthy itself.

It's technically classed as Healthy per Wick, as much as I love invoking the three-day rule to move the queue along.

As this trope technically doesn't fall under not thriving, I'd be fine with waiting the full three days.

Ah got it. I knew it wasn't Not Thriving but I was wondering if the wick count was still low enough to waive. Thanks for the clarifications everyone.

Another vote to cut, redirect, and yard.

This seems like the most meaningful part of the description and I'd single it out as the basis for yarding, or possibly incorporating it into Moe.

Cut, merge with moe or other relevant trope. (Examples include Yogi Bear and Fluttershy from My Little Pony).
