Odd TV Tropes confessions

If I had Hollywood Hacking powers, I'd take over Tvtropes server for the sole purpose of cleaning wicks by Ctrl-F Strl-V on the entire pmwikim.php/ to not edit every page one by one. /s

Sometimes when I make pages for really obscure works (like the two movies I recently made pages for) I imagine other people stumbling onto the page having never heard of them and briefly wondering if I just somehow invented either one of these movies out of thin air

Like, it's happened before, we've caught people posting pages for nonexistent works in the past so it's sort of funny to just imagine people finding an obscure work page and becoming convinced that the work isn't real for some reason.

It really annoys me that I have to put a period first if I want to have asterisks around my text at the start of a line

As for my confession: I doubt anyone really checks my edit history, but I'm worried people are gonna notice that I edited the same page within two seconds because I spelled something wrong or forgot to remove something... actually now that I think about it I just narc'd on myself

Don't see it as any issue.

I used to do that a lot until I found out about the preview button, which was embarassingly late.

I follow a locked thread for this post to refer to the different available text colours for convenience. I know the Text-Formatting Rules exist, but still.

That reminds me there was an ATT comment that listed all emojis and icons and I've lost it.

I assure you you're fine and that it's not a big deal. I've made more than two edits within a short timespan (which is called Serial Tweaking, which I've explicitly admitted to doing in the past) on multiple pages and still got chosen to be a mod, so if it were considered a major rule violation, I wouldn't have been chosen to be among the people who enforce the rules.

Nor is Serial Tweaker a violation to begin with. It's only when someone edits the same entry 3+ times in a row, is a red flag to politely ask if they're using the Preview button, to avoid a potential bigger problem in the future.

& I use the preview button but I still find I miss things lmao

I'm paranoid about editing the pages for controversial works, because I'm worried someone will see them in my history and judge me for it.

I have a paranoia of someone going out of their way to remind me that I shouldn't call YMMV tropes even if the their only functional difference is which tab to put in, because it happens.

Well, technically, the YMMV.Home Page index is supposed to be for things that objectively exist in the work (i.e., tropes) but require a value judgment on the audience's part and/or could potentially have audiences disagreeing on aspects of their appearance. Audience Reactions is the index for YMMV items that aren't tropes at all, since they are objectively absent from the work and exist solely with the audience.

Though I'd imagine there are some things that belong on one index but were mistakenly placed on the other, and there might be some things that are on both even though pages designated as YMMV are only supposed to be on one at a time (which is noted on at least one of the two pages).

Now, Trivia on the other hand, those are all non-tropes because they're background information regarding the works and not things that are directly observable by simply viewing the work.

I'm referring to technical differences, which as far as wiki concerned, there aren't any aside blue flags. I've been around long enough to tell what the indexes are for.

I just remembered this one. For a while, I thought that Broken Base and Broken Pedestal meant the same thing. ^_^;;

Meanwhile I once thought Enfante Terrible and Kids Are Cruel were the same thing. Then I only bothered to read them after seeing the former used for 12 year olds. I thought it was only for toddlers because Stewie. That's entirely on me, it's telling that I haven't made an example of a trope if I hadn't read the page the whole way through, so I haven't done any damage, I hope.

AND I just realised that the entries of Relationship Voice Actor on Trivia.Bo Boi Boy are misuse because those go under Real-Life Relative. I swear to God-
